Horses Los Angeles Reviews from The Last Year
Greatest outdoor experience in los angeles
The Ride experience is Super Nice and beautiful. Me and my Family was very happy in the whole experience, Altough its just 1 hour The views were beautiful! I recommend
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Horses in
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Horses in Hollywood, and I can confidently say it's a culinary gem. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance and attentive service set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The quality of the food was impeccable. The Caesar salad was a revelation--crisp, fresh, and perfectly dressed. It's a classic done right, with a modern twist that elevates every bite. The beef tartare was absolutely amazing. The meat seasoned to perfection, and presented beautifully. The star of the evening, however, was the steak, which is ordered with a side of frys. Cooked to perfection, it was succulent, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Every cut was tender, and the seasoning highlighted the natural richness of the beef. Highly recommended!
Horses is a staple LA eatery even in 2024.
Staff is always vibrant and welcoming and the dishes, my my goodness. The chicken liver oh my palate. And obviously their off menu spicy pork bits vodka pasta is comparable to Carbone's spicy rigatoni. Recent visit, we tried their sobrassada panino per recommendation by our bartender and it's a perfectly crafted brioche crispy lightly salty and sweet and little spicy. Drooling over it again. Don't forget the Caesar, tart & creamy. Perfect for date night with friends or with your SO.
Finally caved and let out our daughter take us to a place
Finally caved and let out our daughter take us to a place she loves. In my early 50's I try to avoid the places that pop up and get hyped and are tough to get a reservation at. It's a scene for sure with everyone trying to see who's waking in. O always chuckle at that. It's Los Angeles people. We typically wait for the hype to die down and truly try our places for the food rather than the scene. I went in with high expectations on the food. The place itself is alright. Could be bette, it's small and the booths are tough as you constantly kick whoever you are eating with if you are taller than 5 feet. I'd say they need a new location. Service was perfect and our guy was super attentive. Everyone was friendly. Cesar Salad was incredible and I'm not even a Cesar fan. The burger prepared medium was done with perfection still and with some pink. It's a thick burger and with every penny. You get lots and I mean lots of fries so this nice. Of Course we will be back and good job on this place. Valet was even super friendly which is rare.
A ride with a view!
This one hour horseback ride was incredible! A "first" for my 12 year old daughter. I am "experienced" with moderate skills. The scenery was beautiful, including a glimpse of the Griffith Observatory. Horses were well cared for and knew the trail well. Staff was awesome. I would highly recommend this tour company!
Delicious food but indoor restaurant smelled and looked old
Delicious food but indoor restaurant smelled and looked old and dated. Outdoor patio was bland and boring. Food is excellent but $25 for a plain Caesar's salad...come on!
Unprofessional
Very unorganised, our tour went nearly an hour late and because they tell you not to bring water everyone was standing in the sun for an hour then done a 2 hour ride with no water one person ended up passing out. Also you see some amazing views but there is no opportunity to stop and get any pictures with the views, the guide took a couple of average photos while we were on the trail but the horses were just walking along with their heads down and ears back and there was none of the nice scenery in the pictures. Before I got on the horse I went to fix the bridle because the buckle was not full done up and I was told to leave it as it was and I was not allow to touch the bridle. As an experienced rider I have seen some serious accidents from gear being left like this so was not at all comfortable with this. Also the parking situation is no ideal, because there was nowhere to park everyone start parking and blocking others in then when people returned to their cars the people that parked behind them were still out on rides so the lady at the check in started going through everyones bags to see if she could find sets of keys.
Cool nature trip
Great experience . Guide was very nice and informative. The trails had lots of cool views and nature. Awesome experience
I tried Horses for the first time this afternoon after a
I tried Horses for the first time this afternoon after a friend recommended their Caesar salad. I had such a great experience this afternoon! Caesar salad is a simple basic salad but this one is special, highly recommend! I was grateful that they offered N.A. beer as well. Service was fantastic! I didn't get the two bartenders names but I never needed for anything, they were on top of it! Also thank you Amanda at the door for getting me a bar seat. I'll be back and can't wait to try more of the menu! Thanks Horses!!
Horses hands down has the best Cesar salad in LA! The food
Horses hands down has the best Cesar salad in LA! The food here is always incredible! I hear people complaining about how long the food takes however this isn't a fast food restaurant good food takes time...definitely one of my absolute favorite restaurants in LA! The Off Menu pasta is worth the hype and cheeseburger is a classic! Horses has my heart see you soon horses
Food is ok.
Bartender was not the friendliest. Like I was doing him a favor. Tuna appetizer was fare at best. Bread was good. Pasta was good. Not great. Sea bass was good. Ceaser salad was real good. All in all, it's a one time thing. Would not go back
Go the 2hr trail… you see some amazing views.
Good fun and amazing way to see the sights of LA from up high. Great for beginner riders and the staff were friendly and helpful
I've been interested in coming here since the L.
A. Times wrote a fascinating piece on them a few years ago. Also, it seems like a fun place to try fresh, inventive takes on basic cuisine. Plus, the ambiance seemed intriguing. So on a lazy Sunday at 6:00, we were greeted by a charming hostess and inviting staff, all very happy and congenial. We sat in a cute little red booth for 2, admiring the decor, the bar, enjoying the vibe. Our waitress was very friendly and engaging. We started with drinks (I had a martini, my spouse a glass of red). There was no hurried, rushed sense to the place. We really liked getting a feel for the place, ordering a special pasta dish along with their a couple of their signature dishes: caesar salad and sweetbreads. The food was good, but didn't wow us, unfortunately. The special pasta was baked, but too spicy. The sweetbreads were crispy and tasted too bland for sweetbreads. The caesar was very good, not too creamy or rich. The best part of the meal was the dessert-- strawberry meringue: a wonderful blend of whipped cream, fresh fruit and sugary crunch. I can see why this place is fun to come to, with a friendly bar, lovely setting, feel good atmosphere.
I love horses so much.
.. made reservations on a whim and were able to secure a table for three at 6:30pm on a Sunday evening. We arrived on time & were promptly seated. I was excited because this time we were able to sit in the lighter room with sky windows + adorable yellow booths. Our server Nancy was helpful when ordering & very sweet and friendly. Service here is always great. We started with their version of a mini grilled cheese, the chicken liver terrine & ceasar salad. All to die for tbh. The chicken liver terrine was one of the best pates I've ever had. The "grilled cheese" with a sausage inside & hot honey drizzled on top was a delightful treat and the ceasar salad always hits the spot. For our mains we got their special of the night which was a pork milanese & the off the menu vodka sauce pasta (this is a must every time). The pork portion was massive, enough to feed 5-6 people tbh but so flavorful and good and you can absolutely never go wrong with their off the menu vodka sauce pasta. I dream of this dish. For dessert we got what I'd possibly consider my favorite dessert in all of LA which is a strawberry meringue cake... I would go just for this and this alone. It is SO good. We got a couple cocktails each & all were fantastic. The ambiance here is spot on and probably one of my favorite vibes for a restaurant in LA. For three people, six drinks w/ tip you're looking to spend about $350-$400 total so it's def not a cheap spot but I can guarantee it's worth it. I already booked my next reservation back since I can't stop thinking of the meringue cake & vodka sauce pasta. It's that good. You can't go wrong with Horses. It's hyped but the hype is well deserved. Easily one of my top five favorite restaurants in LA.
Had a really great meal here recently.
My niece had wanted to check it out while visiting so we booked an early reservation on a Sunday. All the food was absolutely delicious not one thing we ordered was bad. I docked one star as our server wasn't the most attentive and we had to wait a few times for her to come around to order something. Decor on the one side of restaurant is more dark woods and rustic feeling and the other side is greens and yellows and mirrors and skylights and bright and airy. I highly recommend ordering tapa style and sharing all the food you can't go wrong that way. We started with the bread and butter and the Caesar salad. This was hands down one of the best Caesar salads I've ever had. The dressing is absolutely perfect and the crushed croutons all over was perfect. We also did the spicy vodka pasta and pork chop with fennel slaw. Pasta was perfect and the crispier edge pieces are so yummy. Pork chop was cooked perfect and sliced which was nice and paired perfectly with the little acidic from the fennel slaw. We ended with the chocolate cake, also absolutely delicious! Highly recommend to check it out, we left full and very happy!
Great Experience!
This was an awesome experience that I was glad to be able to participate in. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting because it is fun for all skill levels. You will not regret it. Spectacular views and excellent guides! Will be back!
A stunning thrill!
This experience was a first but we would definitely do it again. It started off a little intimidating because of the elevation but the guides were great and reassuring.
I got lost but the people helped me out. Good customer service
The trail leaders had great customers service even though I had to cancel the trip because of misinterpreted the direction. I lost 20%. I am still satisfied with the trip. Thank you .
Horseback Riding with Bae
Breathtaking Views, Beautiful Weather, Wonderful Tour Guide and Host, Lovely Horses and Trail.... An Amazing anniversary gift with my husband, as we celebrated 28 years of marriage on April 20th.
Riding a horse in the Hollywood Hills.
We really enjoyed our trail ride. We were well cared for and the guides were great. All in all a very enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours.
A wonderful, scenic experience
We had such a great time! The views were spectacular, and there were so many awesome photo ops! Our guides were Megan and Benito, and they were both really kind and engaged. The horses were sweet, and well-behaved, and you could tell they are humanely treated. A great experience overall!
We had such a great time here! We were visiting family in
We had such a great time here! We were visiting family in So Cal and wanted to have a great meal together. We had reservations and were seated right away. Even on a midweek night on 12/29/2023, the restaurant was packed! Beautiful ambiance inside. Great place for a a dinner for adults, I did not see a single child. It's dark inside, perfect for date nights! Stephen was our server and he was on top of everything! We ordered some cocktails and wine, the drinks were served at the perfectly chilled temperature. Between four adults, we shared to appetizers and for entrées. We loved the sashimi amberjack, sliced super thin and served with lemon juice and Chinese chili crisp (hot sauce). The Caesar salad was made with endive leaves and crushed croutons (or were they crispy pancake crumbs?). The salad dressing was perfectly balanced with anchovies and cheese, one of the best Caesar salad dressings I've had in a long time. Bass was also very delicious, served on cannellini beans that were perfectly cooked. The mushroom pizzette was delicious! I was surprised that we ordered this at a nicer restaurant, but very glad we did. I'm still remembering about this pizzette three months later. Someone at the table, ordered the Cornish game hen, which I'm not a huge fan of. It was just OK. But don't take my word for it since that's not something I ever order. The pasta dish for me was kind of a bust too. The top was too dried and crispy. Just a heads up that there is a restaurant via 5% percent added to your tab. This is separate from the gratuity. Huge thanks to Stephen for making it a very fun night.
Fantastic ride!
Absolutely loved the ride and the views! It was fun getting to experience all the horses and their different personalities. Great for beginners or advanced riders
Amazing experience - would definitely recommend!
Absolutely loved this! Would definitely recommend - the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and are able to accommodate for beginners. The hack is so relaxing with gorgeous views and the horses are beautiful!
$3.35 for "restaurant fee'. Mind telling me what this
$3.35 for "restaurant fee'. Mind telling me what this charge is for? If it's for placing my butt on your chair then I hope this place goes out of business soon. Also don't tell me how much I should tip, I'll decide how much I will tip my waitress, or better yet how about you the owner pay your employees 25% more so they don't have to humiliate so much to me because I'm literally paying them their hourly wages for you?
Okay the off menu pasta was incredible.
Also loved the horse butter.... However the ambiance of the restaurant was a bit chaotic, and seating was crowded. Not a big fan of the decor. The service was decent and our server was helpful in recommending dishes.
Favorites are the Burger, Smoked Salmon Lavash, Cornish
Favorites are the Burger, Smoked Salmon Lavash, Cornish Game Hen and the off menu pasta. Service is 10/10, people watching is 11/10. Have a martini and draw something weird & beautiful on the paper tablecloth
I've wanted to visit this place for a quite long time.
I finally went there last week and I loved it! I'm so glad that I was able to sit at the patio area where it was much quieter than inside and felt like I am having a nice dinner at a pretty garden. The food was also good I really liked their steak and tuna tartar. The off menu pasta was also good but was little salty to me.
Horses has changed.
While their food is still delicious (best burger in town) and their atmosphere is the right blend of casual bistro meets fine dining, the difficult cancellation process, lack of phone/communication and unbearably rude maître d make it an easy pass. Try the food, if you're really craving it, it won't disappoint , but not worth the special trip it once was.
Not Worth It - Rude Front Office Manager
Front Office Manager was very rude and unprofessional. Horses seem to be in bad shape, dirty, tired and missing shoes. Guide was good.
The ambience was great.
I went there on Saturday night. They managed the table nicely, and there was distance between our table and others, so it didn't feel too tight. Their "Off Menu Pasta" is a must. I can't stop thinking about it. So good! It has a creamy taste and is a bit spicy, which I really like. Not greasy at all. Thanks to our server, who recommended us to try this. The Burger came with lotssss of fries. Also excellent. Also, we had "Smoked Salmon Lavash with Cress". It was okay. Definitely will come back to try others dishes and that Pasta.
The ambiance was amazing for a date night, but possibly too
The ambiance was amazing for a date night, but possibly too dark. The bar and kitchen/dining room was seperate but wish I got a better look at the bar (tucked away inside). The walled mirror and the horses painting in the ceiling were super cute. The wine list was a bit too expensive, so we opted for two cocktails. They weren't bad, but not amazing. The food - we got the Horses Caesar and of course the 'Off Menu' Spicy Rigatoni. Caesar salad was super crispy and fresh, however wish they had cut down a bit on the dressing. But still very delicious. The Spicy Rigatoni was amazing, perfectly spicy for my taste (it is surprisingly spicy!) and the pasta texture was perfect. But checking other tables, it seemed like ours was comparably a bit more burnt. I didn't hate ours, but the outer rim was pretty black and did taste as so. Still really good - would want to try it out again without the burn.. Parking is always troubling - we were lucky to be out on a weekday and was able to find metered parking right away. But on a weekend, probably need to valet. Overall experience was nice!
Got some reservations for 2 week of for a Friday night.
No seating inside. So the patio it was. The patio is off to the right of the restaurant with some heaters. The temperature was cold but we didnt need a heater. The staff was super friendly and nice. That includes hostess, table and waiters. The patio its self is done nicely. Intimate. Tables are close but not to infringe on privacy. We waited in the bar and grabbed a mezcal margarita. It was delicious and well balanced. We got to our table about 10 minutes after arrival. Scanning the menu we decided on the bread n butter, caesar salad, crudo and tartare for apps. Bread n butter was nice. Not heavenly but definitely worth it. Bread is sourdough along with housemade butter. Caesar was good and a hefty portion. All endive blades had dressing that wasnt overpowering. The crudo was mid to be honest. Lots of citrus which stood out the most which took over from the shallots and any other dressing. The tartare was my personal favorite. As soon as we sat the waiter let us know there was one more order left and I wanted it. Itself was very light. And packed good flavor. It really reminded me of a hamburger that was dressed up. Good onion and garlic coming through. it was accompanied with a light tossed salad. Everything went well. Off the menu pasta was really good. Good amount of heat. Crisp from the oven bake. No need for cheese as you can taste it within the sauce. Very good and large portion. Good delicious tomato base too. Mortadella pea tortellini. Very light, peppery and the peas came through. Its a play off a familiar ppp pasta. Prosciutto, peas, parmesan or pecorino. It was light n not overly creamy. You would think it would have been rich but it was not. Sheeps milk cheesecake with poached bordeaux pear. Delicious. Light. The pear was so much yum. Tartare, Off the menu pasta and sheeps milk cheesecake.
Great way to view L A. and surrounding areas including the "Hollywood" sign via horseback!
Great tour up into the mountains by an experienced guide and wonderful horses! Beautiful scenery of L.A. and the surrounding areas from the mountains to the Pacific Ocean. Trip was great for all ages and abilities! Would highly recommend!
My wife and I liked Horses perfectly fine but we weren't
My wife and I liked Horses perfectly fine but we weren't blown away by Horses. Not so much where we feel a second visit is warranted.
Relaxing ride along the Mulholland Trail
It was a wonderful experience, horses were super calm and Cassandra was lovely as a guide. We were delighted to know that the horses were well trained and so calm.
Awesome Views
Great Trail and great views....It was nice and peaceful and you can get attached to the horses quickly...Our guide Madison made sure we were in great hands...
Very expensive for what you get
Views were great but the overall experience wasn’t as good as it could be. I’m never going to like to receive a confirmation email prior to an activity for which I’ve already paid a lot which reminds me ‘not to forget cash for the tip’. Okay so I’m British and our view to tipping is different than the US but even so this annoyed me from the outset. Then, as you’re choosing a helmet, 2 large signs ‘suggesting’ the amount you should tip! This was not a cheap activity and I did not think the guide did anything to justify any type of tip at all! They spoke to no-one the entire 2 hours other than to briefly take everyone’s phone and take a few photos. No information about the view and they even carried bottles of water with them in the saddle bag and didn’t once offer one to anyone. They also asked if we like to add a bit to the ride and do an extra route which would mean we would arrive back 5-10 minutes later than schedule …. We arrived back 10 minutes early! The views were great and the horses were super and looked well taken care of but the whole vibe was of a business that had done this excursion so many times, it was no longer interesting or fun. I also thought that 90 minutes would have been better than 2 hours as by the end I was a little bit bored.
Great experience!!!
Amazing experience! and amazing service from Benito our guide. Highly recommend Don’t forget to bring some cash for your guide, they deserve it.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!
Worked flawlessly!
Worked so well! I was a bit nervous, but everything went very smoothly. purchased the reservation, and got into the restaurant seamlessly.
Love this app!
So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
