A wonderful, scenic experience
We had such a great time! The views were spectacular, and there were so many awesome photo ops! Our guides were Megan and Benito, and they were both really kind and engaged. The horses were sweet, and well-behaved, and you could tell they are humanely treated. A great experience overall!
Be the first to ReplyFantastic ride!
Absolutely loved the ride and the views! It was fun getting to experience all the horses and their different personalities. Great for beginners or advanced riders
Be the first to ReplyAmazing experience - would definitely recommend!
Absolutely loved this! Would definitely recommend - the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and are able to accommodate for beginners. The hack is so relaxing with gorgeous views and the horses are beautiful!
Be the first to ReplyNot Worth It - Rude Front Office Manager
Front Office Manager was very rude and unprofessional. Horses seem to be in bad shape, dirty, tired and missing shoes. Guide was good.
Be the first to ReplyGreat way to view L A. and surrounding areas including the "Hollywood" sign via horseback!
Great tour up into the mountains by an experienced guide and wonderful horses! Beautiful scenery of L.A. and the surrounding areas from the mountains to the Pacific Ocean. Trip was great for all ages and abilities! Would highly recommend!

It was a wonderful experience, horses were super calm and Cassandra was lovely as a guide. We were delighted to know that the horses were well trained and so calm.

Great Trail and great views....It was nice and peaceful and you can get attached to the horses quickly...Our guide Madison made sure we were in great hands...
Be the first to ReplyVery expensive for what you get
Views were great but the overall experience wasnโt as good as it could be. Iโm never going to like to receive a confirmation email prior to an activity for which Iโve already paid a lot which reminds me โnot to forget cash for the tipโ. Okay so Iโm British and our view to tipping is different than the US but even so this annoyed me from the outset. Then, as youโre choosing a helmet, 2 large signs โsuggestingโ the amount you should tip! This was not a cheap activity and I did not think the guide did anything to justify any type of tip at all! They spoke to no-one the entire 2 hours other than to briefly take everyoneโs phone and take a few photos. No information about the view and they even carried bottles of water with them in the saddle bag and didnโt once offer one to anyone. They also asked if we like to add a bit to the ride and do an extra route which would mean we would arrive back 5-10 minutes later than schedule โฆ. We arrived back 10 minutes early! The views were great and the horses were super and looked well taken care of but the whole vibe was of a business that had done this excursion so many times, it was no longer interesting or fun. I also thought that 90 minutes would have been better than 2 hours as by the end I was a little bit bored.

Amazing experience! and amazing service from Benito our guide. Highly recommend Donโt forget to bring some cash for your guide, they deserve it.
Be the first to ReplySuper friendly and wonderful views!
I had problems booking in advance (not their fault, I had a problem with my card), but they were happy to do a walk-in (this was a rainy day in march so might be different in summer/good weather). Super friendly staff overall and the horses seemed well cared for; they had turnout (not a big field but compared to other city stables over the world, it was superb), lots of hay and no overweight horses. I got a private 1h ride with amazing views despite the bad weather. Everything was green and lush, felt like riding on a rainforest mountain. Even managed to see the Hollywood sign, which was all I ever wanted. An oasis in a busy city. An extra plus for the donkey and the pig!

Amazing experience, my horse was a bit crazy but we had fun. The tour is long enough it was during summer time so it was burning and no shade as you can guess on top of the hill ; the guide was very nice and was checking that we were all alright, it was the first time for my son.
Be the first to ReplyA wonderful experience for beginners.
A wonderful experience was had by myself and my two eldest son's (18 & 20). The boys had never been on a horse before yet felt 100% comfortable, nothing led them to feel nervous. All the staff were extremely nice, polite and helpful. The horses and the ranch were all well cared for. The ride itself was great for us, a slow walk along a long trail and we were taken a slightly different route back. Great scenery over Los Angeles and we could see the Hollywood sign. Our guide was wonderful and took photos of our group along the ride. Would recommend this experience to everyone.
Be the first to ReplyDonโt bother with the sunset ride
This had a lot of potential to be great but unfortunately they failed in the timing of the ride. Paid double the price of the day ride for a sunset ride. Sunset was at 445. The trip was scheduled for 4. Most people arrived before 4. We didnโt even leave the ranch until AFTER sunset. Literally had about 15 minutes of riding with daylight and then it was dark. When we got to the Hollywood sign we could hardly see it. Picture? Oh absolutely not. This was a complete waste of time and money! If they would have had the horse ready and had use leave at 4 then this would have been great. Instead it was a huge let down and I would not recommend.
Be the first to ReplyGreat views of the Hollywood Sunset
This was a must on our list of things to do for my older teen & young adults on their first trip to CA. It was a great ride. Our guide, โGโ was personable and knowledgeable about the area & Hollywood history. We did the sunset ride which was a great view & much cooler at night. The horses looked well taken care of. Strongly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyVery cool way to experience the views of LA!
I have had this on the bucket list forever when visiting LA. Whats cooler than a ride under the Hollywood sign, minutes from the city! Sunset Ranch is a really unique, 100 year old stable tucked in the Hollywood hills. They have over 70 horses one of the staff said tucked in small corral. All of the horses were well fed and cared for, some very nice looking quarter horses. The tack was all very nice looking and very comfy saddles, not typical of a horse rental outfit. Our guide "G" was super friendly and was great at giving the history of the stables, the hills, the landmarks and seemed to really enjoy her job as a guide. We were lucky to only have 4 riders that day. Picasso was a gorgeous cremello (cream colored horse with blue eyes) quarter horse with a goofy personality. The ride was beautiful (pretty hot that day, bring sunscreen), so cool to see the city, the Hollywood sign, Griffith park, the observatory and the historic Mulholland drive where many movies have been filmed. The horses were very calm, safe and easy horses for beginners. I can see how unexperienced riders, would be a little nervous being near the edge of the trail but these horses are very sure footed and accustom to the trail. All in all a really fun experience, even for advanced riders that ride frequently. A few tips: * The helmets are very dusty, would be nice to have some wet wipes for guests to clean them * wear jeans or pants, you will be miserable wearing shorts on a saddle * If you are using uber, you have to call from the gate to get let in *Walking back down the hill to the gate is tricky in cowboy boots (and if you have knee issues) and there is very limited wifi at the gate *Dont bring anything with you (I brought just a phone)! It would be super handy if they had some some small saddle bags/packs for phones * You can tip the guide via Venmo or other online payments instead of bringing cash or a wallet

We went for my husbandโs birthday for a two-hour ride. Our group was only five and Tabatha was a great leader. We saw beautiful scenery and the ride was great for a beginner rider. I would highly recommend it.
Be the first to ReplyGreat views but pricey (just walking!)
We booked a ride from 9am, arrived at 8:50, but didnโt head out until around 9:50 with 5-6 beginner riders and the two guides. Group soze couldโve been smaller max 4 + guides and skilled riders riding separately. The guides were very nice, horses were well trained. Very good location and excellent views. We walked in a nose to tail formation and the group had a mixture of riders from beginners to advanced level, which I wish wouldโve been different. I would've wished that advanced riders wouldโve ridden in their own group, as well as intermediate and beginner riders. The complete ride was 1 hour, which was a bit short for the price we paid. On top of the price of the ride ($75/1h), you were encouraged to pay a $20 tip/person, especially since there wasnโt even any trotting or cantering involved. The nose to tail formation seemed a bit too much as an advanced rider. Wouldโve been nice to be able to actually ride and not just sit on the horses back while it automatically does what it always does. Other than that, it was a very pleasant experience, but maybe just a one time experience.
Be the first to ReplyBest way to see the Hollywood Hills
This was a very pleasant surprise on my recent trip to LA. I went on the 2 hr sunset ride and views were amazing! But even better, the guides were friendly and knowledgeable and the horses looked to be well cared for. Some trail rides are disappointing, but not this one - we were riding for every minute of 2 hours and maybe even a bit more than that. The sunset tour was great because the temperature started to drop a bit.
Be the first to ReplyGreat horseback tour in Hollywood Hills
2 hours at 5pm was perfect for a great view with the sun setting over the ocean. The staff is well organized and attentive. They will assign you to a hose so even small kids, inexperienced adults and pretent cowboys can have a good experience. The best part is that the staff/guides all seem like they want to be there and it made the experience even more enjoyable as they chatted with everyone in our lager tour group (~20 people). Pro Tip - the guides are tipped workers so bring cash (at least $25 per person in your group)...trust me they earn every penny...

2hr Sunset Ride- What a work out! Beautiful views and our guides, Bella and Dylan, were wonderful as well. Thanks so much!
Be the first to ReplyAwsome trip
Did this for my bf bday and we loved it. I got the 4p.m tour because we wanted to see the sunset by the was it was amazing. If I had known about the tip before arriving I would of came prepared with cash in my pocket because I had left my purse in my car and had to walk to get to where the horses were. I honestly did not see online about tipping the guide instructors they were all super nice. When our ride finished the options for tips were cash or vemo I don't have vemo my Bf had 9 bucks in his pocket and a big bill or else we would of tired way more because they all truly deserved it. The staff and the trip was such and amazing experience. I'm doing this again without a doubt.
Be the first to ReplyHorrible. Don't go.
We could only walk and the guide only stopped at the lookout for 1 min and cut the ride short by 20 mins. The guide left the back of the group and went to the front leaving the beginner rider at the back, on her own, in the dark, carrying so much risk. He barely spoke. Wouldn't go again.
