Yard House Oak Brook Reviews from The Last Year
Avoid if you have other options to eat.
Current manager working right now as of 04/06/2014 is one of the worst ever managers you can ever encounter. I will be filing a complaint to corporate and if the manager thinks it's a laughing matter, we're gonna find out soon enough. Treat your regular customers with respect and you will be treated the same. Obviously, current manager has zero respect for this frequent customer.
Had a 30 minute wait.
I'd say the food was just okay. We got a filet mignon medium rare 6/10, cooked semi okay it needed more flavoring and the vegetables didn't have any seasoning. Also got fish tacos, they were just okay 5/10, the toppings were good and the sides but the actual fish had a strong fish taste and smell that I couldn't get over and wasn't that enjoyable after that. I also tried the non alcoholic toppings chico with passion fruit and 10/10 recommend the flavor is so refreshing.
Long waits, not trustable on wait times, disengaged people.
The reason to go here is so you appreciate the service at other places.
I went in for a quick late night dinner.
It took us a lot to get seated because we came at closing. The staff was nice enough, and there was a lot of space in the parking lot. The food is standard bar food, American cuisine. I ordered the salmon, it was OK. The carrots Were not completely cooked, but they were edible. The smoke pink dragon was delicious, but the smoky taste was overpowering. This place is OK or late night food, but I wouldn't return.

We went to Yard House for a casual Sunday lunch where we could watch the Ole Miss Women's Basketball game. The game was on and the atmosphere was jovial and fun. We ordered nachos to start which had a fair amount of toppings - chicken, beans, cheese, tomatos, jalapeños, guac and sour cream. The chips were crispy, the toppings plentiful and whole dish was hot and the guac and sour cream were cold on top. Yum!! For lunch we had some burgers and wings which were really good - and large enough portions there was quite a bit to take home. At the end of our meal we split the brûléed cheesecake which was fantastic!! Top it off with wonderful hosts and waitstaff and it was a great experience.
First time diner today.
ASHLEY was awesome! Had no idea how vast the menu was going to be, I thought it was going to be more gastro-pub food. Had the Ahi tuna burger, subbed the fries for broccolini....scratch kitchen...NAILED IT! I will definitely be back! Ive been in the industry for over 20 years and they impressed!
My foodie hubby and I have been looking at and driving past
My foodie hubby and I have been looking at and driving past this restaurant for YEARS because I read a bad review about the staff being racist. That was enough to keep us away for a long time. One of my biggest pet peeves is racism. If you read my other reviews, I don't sugarcoat any of them and I call out racist staff with no hesitation! We are always looking for a different restaurant to try. We read the mixed reviews and still decided to give them a try. We said if they're racist, we will just leave and go somewhere else. I got on the online waitlist since the wait time for a table was 25 minutes. When we pulled up to the parking lot at 7, it was packed! I took that as a sign that they must be good if it's crowded for a Thursday evening. We went in and was seated within 5 minutes. Lance was the host. He seated us in the "90s section" which was warmer than the rest of the restaurant. I very much appreciate that because I'm always cold! Rudi was our server. We told him it was our first time there. He was very helpful. He made some suggestions and told us about the popular dishes. It took us a while to decide what we were going to get because the menu was big! Tons of beer, cocktails, alcohol free drinks and food to choose from. There was literally something on the menu for everyone. They even had an under 700 calorie "smaller portion" menu for smaller appetites like mine. I ended up ordering the house cheesesteak sandwich with extra onion strings, mushrooms and the truffle fries. Hubby ordered the sesame shrimp noodles with chicken tortilla soup. We didn't detect any racism at all. That was just half of the experience. No racism, check. Pleasant service, check. Nice ambiance even though it was loud and crowded, check. Warm, cozy and comfortable, check. Food? We were anxious about the food because of the mixed reviews we read. We got the chicken tortilla soup first. It was creamy and delicious. Different than what I'm used to from a tortilla soup. Then the rest of the food came. Our food came out piping hot! The smoke from my hubby's plate made him turn his face away. The truffle fries were hot and fresh which I really loved because I hate warm fries. Even the truffle was fresh. My sandwich had a LOT of onion strings just like I requested, but I wasn't expecting them to put that much on my sandwich. See the picture and you'll see what I mean. The cheesecake was divine. The brûlée on the cake and the strawberry was the perfect touch. Everything was absolutely wonderful, even the bread from my sandwich was fresh. We had a great experience here. Good food, good service and no racism. I hated that we waited a long time to try this restaurant. A solid 5 stars for us and I'm a very picky eater! All of the boxes were checked off on our list. We will definitely be back!
This place really is unique.
Not in a good way. The food is subpar, the service is confusing, you will have three different people handing you your food, your drinks and your bill. Ordering can be done on your own however they advise you to have the waiter/waitress to select your food off a touchscreen. My filet was paired with three carrots that were raw and my wife's tacos were not good.
First off, very nice place to hang out and catch a game.
Plenty of screens and a variety of seating options. All of which are in view of a screen. The food is average bar fare, with some entrees not traditional to a sports bar, such as a ribeye or salmon. They have a nice selection of craft beers.......So it's slightly upscale for your average sports bar. The decor and service is slightly above average and the dark wood accents, booths and dim lighting may give a steakhouse feel.......They also offer split billing and you can pay on a device at your table.......Very convenient. Now, the place is very busy and they don't allow reservations. The wait can be up to an hour, which is quite a long wait for an upscale sports bar. Also, the parking lot is dimly lit, with some light out, which makes it hard to see when parking. Overall, I enjoy the environment but I don't enjoy the wait.
A high end BWW or World of Beer.
The food wasn't great. My "firecracker" shrimp was too tough, and it came on this disgusting rice pilaf thing. Truffle parm fries were cold and just thrown together. I liked the atmosphere and heard great things but was bummed. The sliders were good, you can't mess those up. The service was nice too. Date night friendly, family friendly large TVs at the bar.
The food was average and the service was poor.
My beer was about four ounces short and got in argument with the server over it. I felt that could have been handled differently especially for a $9.50 beer.
Loved the half yards
This was conveniently located within walking distance of our hotel. We came here for drinks during peak hours on Saturday night and we were fortunate to get seated quickly. Loved the half yards and the house beers! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves that we came back for more drinks on our last night in town. Both servers on both occasions did a great job...very friendly and attentive (Dylan and Brooke). Definitely recommend dropping in for drinks here.
Love the drinks and food
Met former work friends for happy hour I started with the picante margarita-I love the sweet/spice combination as you drink it. We split the blackened ahi, the sliders, the queso dip and lettuce wraps - the ahi melted in your mouth - I'd definitely reorder ( and not share ) Split the bread pudding & crème brûlée cheesecake Thank you Grace for your amazing service ( and patience with us crazy "mature" ladies ) You made our get together so fun
