Tylney Hall Hotel & Gardens Odiham Reviews from The Last Year
Top notch Luxurious stay in the Hampshire Countryside
An excellent experience from start to finish! We had booked an overnight stay for our family group. Stupidly I had forgotten to include our dog in the original booking but when I rang only a few days before our stay, our room was reallocated to the newly refurbished garden suite. Good attention to detail with unexpected extra treats for our dog! All the staff made us feel relaxed and were on hand to help without being over bearing. The grounds were stunning and it was a delight to just sit and enjoy taking in the scenery. As we were blessed with good weather, we ate on the terrace and there was a varied selection of food with stunning views over the long lawn towards Basingstoke. A very relaxed and luxurious stay in the Hampshire Countryside.
Delightful service, lovely room & delicious meal
Delightful service, lovely room & a delicious meal in the Oak room restaurant. The grounds are beautiful to walk around & the staff friendly & helpful. We had been before to celebrate a birthday with afternoon tea so knew we were in for a treat to celebrate our anniversary. So glad we chose to stay here after bring let down by Lainston House.
Excellent service provided by everyone at Tylney Hall
I held a 2-day Event and was so impressed by the care and excellent service of everyone at Tylney Hall. Nothing was too much trouble and the event was a great success because of the attention to detail. Conference rooms, food and bedrooms were all excellent. It was so good, that I have decided to book my next Event with them!
Highly recommended stay for a couple’s retreat!
Wonderful stay with my pregnant wife for a bit of a getaway before baby no. 2 arrives. We had booked in for treatments which the staff were very flexible about and couldn’t do enough, thank you to Amber on that front. The pool was fairly busy as there was an event on so in the afternoon we walked around the beautiful grounds in the light rain which was really lovely. We had lunch in the bar area and dinner in the Oak Room, both of which were superb. The room was fab and the bed was immense, we had a great night’s sleep. Perhaps the highlight was Christopher, who welcomed us, showed us to our room with a bit of a tour, and was a constant delight throughout our stay. What a character! Kept us very entertained throughout. In the morning I went for a run around the grounds and saw numerous deer, rabbits, pheasants and so on, which was also fun. Highly recommended stay for a couple’s retreat!
A wonderful Time!
I enjoyed going to Tylney Hall with my Dad. Everything and everyone in the hotel was perfect. The cuisine was first-rate and the accommodation was wonderful with modern conveniences. The staff were excellent and extra friendly helping Dad out with his mobility issues. I myself enjoyed swimming in the indoor pool and there is an outside pool available too! Well done Tylney! thanks, Nick George.
A favourite over many years
Over the years, being fairly local, we have come to Tylney. Family and friends for special occasions for more ‘formal’ dinners or afternoons of coffee and a light bite, in the lounge and on the terrace. On the very odd occasion maybe service was a little slower, something wasn’t quite the same. But these were busy times, so understandable and meaningless in the overall many times we have visited, as the staff are wonderful, as is the food. The formal yet relaxed and inviting atmosphere is much appreciated and the place ultimately holds a special place of meaning for us. We unfortunately will be moving and it will not be so local, but when we visit, which we will do, this will be where we meet with friends :) A Stuart
Celebraiting my 60th with very good friends. I absolutely will return. x
From the moment the lovely gentleman helped us with our bags as we arrived, to the moment we left, the staff were the best I have ever experienced. Friendly, helpful, cheerful, professional. Anyone wanting a job in hospitality, or wanting to run anything that involves face to face interaction, should visit and see how its done. I have been telling everyone. In this day and age, its such a joy that everyone gave 100% with a smile on their face. Bravo all.
Chilling
If you want to feel At home chill in a beautiful setting . Old fashioned elegance comfy lounges, decorated to match the era . This is the place to be . The Bedroom was well appointed. Spotless. If I wanted to be picky the soap dispenser doesn’t over hang the bath so you splash the side you’re fabulous malton brown product misses the bath ! Food was mouthwatering. The spa treatment well worth having. Best of all it’s dog friendly The staff make your stay perfect
More than a touch of Fawlty Towers but great food and surroundings
I'll put you in the right mind set if I say 'think Fawlty Towers'. This review was written soon after our annual Christmas get together and then forgotten until I happened across it just now. Firstly what a remarkable and well-tended setting. We disregarded the interesting car park set up where there are plenty of spaces right out front of such an extensive property but clients are made to go elsewhere. As we were shown to our table the maitre d’ took our coats, dropped a scarf and trampled all over it to such an extent I was worried he was going to do the full Basil and blunder through a set of tables and hurt himself. But hey, no harm done. Only one other of about a dozen tables was occupied in the award-winning Oak Room so it was obviously a quiet day. We wanted a table by the window with a nice view of the gardens but it was 'not available'. Our party of three ordered an entree plus the turkey and were asked if we wanted sides so ordered carrots, brussell sprouts and cabbage (£6 a pop). The entrees arrived. One was wrong so it had to go back and we waited (ages) for the replacement. It was a trend we would have to get used to. The soup (celeriac I think) was absolutely delicious. Beautiful consistency and a lovely rich flavour. The salad (Roquefort but could be wrong) worthy of praise too. Could our event be saved by a talented chef ? The plates were whisked away for the mains. Two arrived and the third was wrong. Again ! (Only two tables occupied remember). Another protracted wait until the correct dish arrived. The turkey on my plate was surely not recently carved from the beast but there was a decent portion of it. Sadly it was cold. The gravy delicious though and, surprisingly, each plate came with carrots, potatoes and brussell sprouts. Why would any waiter ask (ie encourage) you to order sides when the only options were exactly what was already coming on your plate ? The sheer fact he had asked the question suggested it came with none. Or else he would have also asked if I wanted turkey with my turkey? Or a knife and fork? And so to the sweet. By now the two occupied tables became three so it was well nigh rush hour at Tylney Hall. Only two sweets came but we beat them to the punch this time. One person had decided not to partake of even more calories. Again what was on the plate (Christmas pud/Lemon Tart) was an age in coming but tasty all the same. And so to the coffees. Two cappuccinos and an Americano nearly broke 'the system' (was there one?). After a 10 minute wait in a three table restaurant we called over a waitress. We were told we couldn’t have a coffee yet but we could have a meal if we liked. We said we already had. Apparently that was the secret code because she marched off and a short time later we did indeed get what we asked for (oh the novelty!). After some amiable banter with the waiter about Fawlty Towers the waiter said, by way of apology the coffees would be on the house, which was a nice gesture. But it obviously means something entirely different at TH because they were still on the bill when it came. Be heartened, though, dear reader, because the bill does, at least, come so much faster than any of the courses. There was real song and dance about the refund, a flustered waiter who seemed at odds with the technology but did manage to wipe his dripping nose and leave a moist Christmas present on the receipt. My lunch companion proved his Englishness because he was too embarassed to refuse them the entire 'discretionary' tip. It caused no little hilarity that the ’reserved’ table we wanted was empty for the entire meal and still vacant when we left. So we hadn't got what we wanted (and were paying for), when we wanted where we wanted so I'm not sure why I gave it three stars, maybe the chef saved the day. Was that the end of our experience? Not quite. The final twist came when we went to reception to ask for our coats. It took three staff to discover the location of the coat cupboard. Fawlty Towers is alive and well and situated in Hampshire.
Tasty Tea and Jazz afternoon
We went as a family for Mothers Day afternoon Tea with live Jazz and really enjoyed the experience. The grounds and exterior of the property are impressive and the staff welcoming. We found the service friendly and even an entertainer who made balloon animals for the children, which they loved! The choice of teas was good and the food was very nice too. The Jazz trio was pleasant and nice background music, certainly not loud or intrusive. Overall I would recommend it and will have to try the lunch too!
Excellent stay
Exceptional service and setting. Staff are really friendly and helpful with a good sense of humour. Beautiful grounds and location. Food and wine choices are excellent. Very good breakfast buffet. Large and well appointed rooms. Overall good value. Only small thing is the hotel is mostly too hot - hate to think of the environmental impact
A great relaxing stay
May I say we had a relaxing two days stay at your hotel. We experienced the warm welcoming by all your staff especially Christopher the concierge who explained everything about where everything is in the hotel and surrounding area of which the hotel sits in. He is a great credit to the company. I like to also say the gardens around the hotel are well maintained and your gardeners are a credit to the hotel they have done an excellent job. We will be returning again.
A fantastic place
A fantastic place to stay. We had a great time in Nov 2021 decided to return again this time for my husband's birthday and loved it even more . Two couples and two very energetic boys (4y and 2y) - we had a fantastic time. The boys were running around all the time but all staff members were very accommodating and understanding. The hotel and grounds are stunning, overall service and food quality was amazing. We will certainly return!

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.

LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
