The Old Spaghetti Factory 7727 Laguna Blvd Elk Grove, CA 95758 United States Sacramento Reviews from The Last Year
This place used to be one of my go-to spots.
Unfortunately, they've increased the pricing on most menu items and the value just isn't there anymore. My fav is still the spinach tortellini. Service and ambiance have always been good.
Our server Chris was exceptional.
It's been a while since I last dined here. The dinner staples are still there from the regular menu. They've added some nice specials outside is standard that are very tasty. You certainly will not think you're in Italy but it's some very nice family friendly fare. We even sat in the trolley to elevate the experience. We were there on a Sunday at first seating that made for a seamless experience. Thanks to all the staff. The host and manager were very kind. Will certainly repeat.

Service was terrible didn't even care to ask if we need anything else. Food was so salty it was so bad.

This is an old tried and true dining establishment that has been around since I graduated college. The good parts of the story is there are no surprises, you are going to get the standard American pasta dish with different sauces toppings etc. if you just want a quick spaghetti fix this is your place. The food is dense, but good with choice of soup or salad and ice cream for dessert. I would rather go to a real Italian restaurant, but when you just want to knock out your spaghetti craving it will do in a pinch.
I was pretty disappointed with my order.
I ordered a salad and didn't get any dressing with it. It comes with bread and butter but I never got any butter. Just didn't complete the order at all. I don't think I would go spend this money again for this. Very disappointed :/
This a great place for a family.
The service is good. The interiors are well kept. Eating inside the train car is a treat. Unfortunately the menu is significantly limited. It is mostly Spaghetti. I remember years back and they had a different, bigger menu at the other location I visited. But yeah the food was very meh. My wife's lasagna was probably the best thing we we tried. But I felt it was needing some ricotta cheese. If I was rating it just on food quality it would be 2 stars. But the ambiance is bringing it up a little. Prices were comparable to what I've seen in the area. I can easily cook up some spaghetti at home for a fraction of the cost.

We had a great time here with good food, nice server "Tim", and good ambiance. Wish there's more option though, but our first visit did not disappoint us. We recommend this place. Clean and nice.
Old time favorite from a past life living in California.
Love the brown butter and mizithra cheese spaghetti. Sourdough bread and butter, soup or salad, a dessert comes with your meal. Servers were friendly and prompt. In a central area in Elk Grove. Clean and consistent as itnis a chain restaurant. Busy on a weekend, but no wait.
The food.
It's just not that good. Most people that I know that have eaten there, agree.

The Spinach & Artichoke Dip appetizer - was extremely dry, the artichoke was under cooked, cheese was non existent, lacked flavor, and definitely by far the worst dip I ever had in my life. I would rate it 0 out of 10 and would not recommend to anyone. The chicken masala was also bland. Chicken was hard to cut through, so either the knife was not sharp or the chicken or breaded was overcooked, I would rate this 1 out of 10. The fettuccine Alfredo and Kids Mac and cheese tasted fine - simple and plain, hard to mess these up. Our server was friendly, but not attentive. He never refilled our emptied drinks or even offered. He checked on us once over the period of an hour - which was when I asked for the check, The complimentary bread and ice cream were the only highlight of my dining experience. In addition - The buser who clean the tables after people's dining experience would wipe off the dirty tables and put the used dishes in the black bucket; get clean utensils (forks, spoons and knife) with his bare dirty hands directly after and put it on the table.
The food was good.
A little different than I remember, but good. The service was fast. I picked up my to go order at the bar .

The last time I went there I ordered the usual for me which is spaghetti with meat sauce. The waiter brought out this plate of spaghetti absolutely covered with spaghetti sauce. I had never seen it served that way before. I couldn't even see the spaghetti. I had to stir everything together before I could take a bite. There was so much sauce that I found it inedible. That was bad enough, but what person that is dressed nice would want to stir up a red sauce in a restaurant? The person that thought that up is an idiot. I'm sad to say I am never going back. I left the plate minus one bite, payed the bill and vowed to never go back.
Old Spaghetti Factory has always been a good childhood
Old Spaghetti Factory has always been a good childhood memory. However this time around the pasta just doesn't taste like how it use to. Fun place to take the kids. Great service and server is super attentive. Always enjoyed the old train inside the restaurant. I must say our favorite is still the ice cream.

Parking: 4/5 Food quality/value: 4/5 Customer service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 I've been coming to Old Spaghetti factory since I was a kid, and no matter the location and despite being a chain, that doesn't dismiss the fact, that they are always welcoming..and the Elk Grove location is no different. Upon entering the establishment, parking shouldn't be a problem as it's located in the Laguna shopping center. Plenty of parking no matter the day, you'll never have a problem here unlike the SJ downtown location. Upon entering the restaurant, I'm always greeted by Shauna Ramos (Manager) or Martin Gregory (GM) at the front. They always bring joy with their positive, good vibe, attitude. A reason why I keep coming back 3x per week. Rarely, do you get that today. A simple smile goes a long way. Now for the food quality/value. The food is just as I remember it being back in the bay. Hearty and delicious. You can tell the cooks take their job seriously here and the food speaks for itself. The value for a pasta classic runs about $18-$20 while appetizers are a modest $10. The portion sizes definitely exceed that price point. Definitely order the Sicilian garlic cheese bread EVERY TIME! As for the main course, I always get the "Mizithra and browned butter," while the "Manager's favorite," Is the best of both worlds (you can pick 2 pasta sauces to create your own). ALL entrees come with a choice of a salad OR soup AND a free scoop of ice cream to top off the night. Spumoni or Vanilla. I always ask for chocolate syrup on my vanilla ice cream. lol. This is what I call VALUE. BUT the best part about this location is the customer service. Again, thanks to Shauna & Martin, you can see the trickle down effect of how a restaurant should be operated. From the servers to the host, it's all gravy. That's called Management. Last but not least, the ambiance. You can't go wrong sitting in the traditional trolley or feel the old school vibes from the booths to the bar. A good family oriented place to take your kids while eating well. Whether you're a fan of chains or not, there is no question that this location is a must if you live in the area. From the employees to the food quality/value, this is what makes Old Spaghetti Factory in Elk Grove a must try. - #BEASTwriter

Excellent food served quickly and efficiently by a great server. Restaurant was clean, well maintained. Excellent family environment. Children's meals $7.50 was a deal. Managers Special choosing meat sauce and mizithra cheese was the winner Definitely return for another visit with grandkids.
Five stars .
love their food it's consistent and good customer service. Thank you Elk Grove Spaghetti Factory
Spacious restaurant to commodore parties which is great.
Service was good also. Food wise.... No bueno! The only good thing is the ice cream at the end of the meal.
Lunch w/ friend.
Had the chicken sandwich w/ smoked mozzarella. Very good and reasonably priced. I added a side salad which I won't do again. Big chain like OSFactory and you use bagged lettuce. You can do better. Other than that, everything was good( other order was chicken parmigiana) and service was good
Let me start by saying the service is far less than average.
The woman who answers the phone (and is some sort of a lead*) is rushed/rude/unpleasant and when you come in she doesn't smile and is uptight the prices are outrageous. I am posting pictures of their side of "chicken," which is a full size portion ($4.50). ...two bites! ...ridiculous! I doubt the business will stay afloat much longer with this type of service (and poor portion sizes/prices). *sandy blonde colored hair with abilty to apply a coupon code

I came here with my family and both my boyfriend and I ordered the breast of chicken fettuccine. This plate on the menu states it's "Fettuccine topped with tender diced chicken breast, fresh broccoli, sautéed mushrooms, Alfredo Sauce, and shredded Romano cheese." When I was eating my pasta I found a piece of bacon. My boyfriend is Muslim and does not eat pork, this could've very easily been his plate of food and who knows if his might've had it as well. I am extremely disgusted at the idea that you guys could have possibly contaminated his food with pork. After years of coming here, we will not be returning.
