Regular Visitor
The staff at Liberty is always friendly and welcoming! I have been using the lobby for both business and social purposes over these last three years. I am very impressed with the staff, service and atmosphere. I am happy to be a regular visitor to the hotel.

Be the first to ReplyDecent but could have been better
The hotel presents very nicely and is located next to the Mass General Ear and Eye Center, the reason for our stay. The price was about right for downtown Boston. The room on the 8th floor was listed as a premium room. The problem was the air conditioner duct blew directly on the bed which was a major inconvenience. There was not even one pen or a small pad to write notes on. Even Days Inn gives you a pen and pad. Sampo Restaurant in the hotel was very inconsistent. Would we stay again? Yes. I would suggest inspecting the placement of the air conditioner in the room before approving it. We will try other restaurants for dining.
Be the first to ReplyFashionably Late
I worked with Archee & Valeria for one of the Fashionably Late shows that the Liberty Hotel throws every Thursday. It is such a fun event with music, 12 different outfits, and just fun vibes. There is no entry cost, so you can spend more on your drinks 🥂🍷🍸I loooooveve that they work with local businesses. I can't wait to go back!
Be the first to ReplyMy forever HOME AWAY FROM HOME.
Hi ! My name is Mona Souza. I had the pleasure of staying at the Liberty Hotel the month of February while my husband was in the hospital. I wasn’t worried about staying alone as the wonderful staff took great strides to take care of me. My room was always clean with fresh fruit or dinner waiting for me. I stayed 8 hours a day at the hospital helping the nurses. The Clink restaurant staff were wonderful to me , and they made daily muffins for me to take to nurses . 16 muffins a day to be exact. I always had a ride to hospital as Ali made sure I got there on time everyday . Chris , Brian , and CJ always helped me with my bags going to and coming from hospital. I’m very grateful for that help as I was always tired. I’ve stayed in many hotels including the Harbor View hotel on Martha’s Vineyard, but it does not and never will stand up to the Liberty Hotel! From checking in , eating meals all the staff were very professional and top notch each and every day . Mt husband and I will be returning in May and August, and I cannot wait to get back to my home away from home.
Be the first to ReplyGreat location, property & service
We really enjoyed our well appointed room, staff was excellent, especially Youssef in the valet, and the location is prime. Our stay really exceeded our expectations in every aspect - but beware of the hefty parking fee. We paid $71 per day..
Be the first to ReplyWorst hotel value in 50 years of travel to the four corners of the world.
For $631, one night in a so-called "Grand Deluxe Room", in a "luxury" hotel, featuring old worn furniture in dimly-lit 15x15 space. Only one worn leather easy chair and a desk chair. No soap in the bathroom. No answer at the Front Desk after 20 rings. No safety grab bar in the shower. A foam-material mattress with three flimsy foam pillows. Room temperature either arctic cold or summertime - no in between. In the last of two final insults, a condition on the bill that said Marriott honors only its own records in terms of what a guest has paid and has been charged, as if to say, "your bill isn't paid unless we say it's paid, and guest records proving otherwise are irrelevant." Finally, at check-out, I was not asked the time-honored check-out question: "Did you enjoy your stay". Without question, the worst hotel value in 50 years of travel to the four corners of the world. The one and only positive experience was a bowl of fresh fruit at the complimentary breakfast, which was delicious.
Be the first to ReplyStay at the liberty
Stayed at the liberty hotel a few weeks ago, and enjoyed everything about it. Cj was the best doorman, gave advice and was helpful with what to do around Boston and knew all of the best bars in the area. Great atmosphere, great people, and great time!
Be the first to ReplyGreat hotel - would stay again!
The staff was extremely friendly, and we were greeted with a glass of champagne upon arrival. The room was nice and comfortable. The only issue was that the usb chargers that were in the wall did not work. We ate at the bar the first night, the drinks and food were excellent. We also had breakfast, which was very expensive, but the portions were large. It was way too much food for me. The location was perfect for walking around Beacon Hill and to get to TD Garden for a concert. I would stay again.
Be the first to ReplyPrison novelty wears off quickly
I stayed here for 1 night while on business in town. Check-in was very quick as I had used the mobile check-in, and I was given room 811. The room itself was small but efficient with nice furniture. The bathroom was small and the shower was tight although it did feature Molton Brown products. While I understand the novelty of converting a former prison into a hotel, the property is simply dark inside. For example, my room, which had a window and view of the Charles was still incredibly dark. I think its ok for 1 night, but I would rather choose an alternative hotel.
Be the first to ReplyNice Gestures…
Visited the Liberty recently to see a friend. While there. Mirko the concierge was more than accommodating because I wanted to send something special for her stay. He took the extra step to introduce himself to her and made sure their stay was delightful. She was so happy and impressed. She will come back soon to stay at the Liberty. Thanks to Mirko. She will be traveling to Liberty when she travels to Boston. Little gestures like that make a guest feel like they have a home, away from home.
Be the first to ReplyHeavenly stay at the Liberty Hotel
We had a great stay at the Liberty Hotel. Chris, the 16 year veteran bellman, welcomed us with a very warm greeting. Vibi, the front desk agent, also greeted us warmly, upgraded us, and acknowledged my Titanium status. She took special interest in our show (Into the Woods) at the Emerson Theatre! The room was gorgeous and very comfortable. Our dining experiences at Clink and Scampo were outstanding! The Service and Food were excellent! We want to especially acknowledge our server at Scampo, Alexander. Very friendly, knowledgeable about the food, and great service.

I was super impressed with the level of service I received I believe his name was Duane. At check in he could not find the reservation. And I informed him the reservation was booked under my sisters name. I told him the name and he says yes and says unfortunately because your name is not in the reservation I can’t check you in with out My name being on the reservation so he contacted my sister who has already checked in. Duane told me that my sister is coming down wile I’m waiting would I like a glass of champagne after the flight I had yes so he gives me a glass of wine he also gave me a late check out I felt like royalty. Checking in with Duane he also gave me a room next door to my sister He handed me my keys told me where the elevator was and my sister told me it was only his third day so I had to ask him and he confirmed that this was his 3rd day here I was surprised I thought he was one of the managers the way he presented himself great job get him a raise u have a super star Staff
Be the first to ReplyEvery elite hotel needs a Mirko Bissetta --Chef Concierge
This was our 2nd stay at the Liberty. If you are seeking outstanding service, a great hotel, and a unique experience then you found the place. We have stayed at the Ritz not all that far away and the service here is just as good. First, we were greeted by Chef Concierge, Mirko Bissetta--yes there is such a title. These positions are not given away but truly earned. Mirko was very warm, and positive and knew the answer to all our questions, and then he got us into a restaurant that was booked. Every elite hotel needs a Mirko! Bravo! The rooms are in very good shape, and the hotel restaurants do a great job, again with outstanding service.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food
We tried Clink and room service several times during our stay. Everything was great the food was prepared great and plenty of options. The salmon, mussels and oysters were standouts. My daughter is gluten free and she had plenty of options and the chefs made a special meal for her as well.

My husband and I were celebrating our 8th anniversary and loved this hotel! It was a beautiful hotel and the staff was so friendly! There was a wonderful doorman that helped us out in finding local pub places. His name was Cj he went a above and beyond! We chatted for a while and felt like he really loves his job!! Thanks CJ!!! Give him a raise!!!
Be the first to ReplyA most unique property and great service!
The property is conveniently located in the heart of Boston and is most unique given that it is a renovated historical landmark. The room are spacious and up to date and the service is also amazing! Mr. Mirko, the chef concierge was most hospitable and helpful. His help in organizing welcome gifts, each with a hand-written note is a great example. We will for sure stay here again in the future and highly recommend this establishment.
Be the first to ReplyService that’s above the cut
We recently spent two nights at the Liberty. The staff went above and beyond. Chef Concierge Mirko Bissetta took personal interest in making our stay everything one should expect from a luxury property. We’re looking forward staying at the Liberty when we’re next in Boston, would highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyGreat stay, and so much fun
Such a fun stay! We came in on a Saturday afternoon and we’re greeted with a complimentary glass of Prosecco during our checkin great start to the evening. Our room was great, very comfortable and great shower pressure. The only issue was the valet area is very congested so you need to plan accordingly. We just left the car at the hotel and used Uber to get around. When we returned from dinner there was a DJ in the hotel lobby and people dancing. We dropped off our bags and coats in our room and danced until 2:00am. It was so much fun. Looking forward to returning again soon.
Be the first to ReplyA+ Visit, We’ll be back!
Great hotel, will visit again! Everything was enjoyable, very cool vibe, lobby bar and overall decor beautiful! Rooms were immaculate and nicely appointed, great housekeeping. Breakfast at Clink was delish! Customer service was an A+, the current state of our nation-cranky unprofessional staff and not enough help, was not an issue…good job Marriott! Valets and doormen terrific friendly personalities!
Be the first to ReplyPleasantly surprised!
Upon booking our stay at this hotel on my military discount travel website, I had no idea that it was an upscale hotel. I was just happy to find a hotel room at a decent rate for a few nights in Boston. So, when we arrived and began the check-in process, I was almost at a loss for words - which is very hard to do to me. I have no way of describing the breathtaking interior of this place, and then there is the history (story) behind it. Even if you don't book a stay at this hotel, you should research it online just for the rich history of how it came to be. If you are a Whitey Bolger buff, or a buff of any number of famous/infamous people you will love the story here. Anyhow, from the moment we checked in through the moment we left the hotel we were treated quite well. This hotel is obviously used to guests who have tons of money, and don't mind spending a fortune on the smaller things in life ($10 for a packet of M&M's as an example). I'm not judging, I'm just trying to be as truthful as I can. The room was fantastic, it is located 5-minute walk away from Massachusetts General (which is why we were there in the first place), there are stores/restaurants/bars/etc. within walking distance, and if I did not already mention it (I know I did, I just have to say it again) this hotel is breathtaking. There are bars and restaurants inside the hotel, notice I bars and restaurants (as in more than one of each). Also, if memory serves Friday's and Saturday's there is a D.J. in the main lobby. The lobby and its surroundings turn in to a high-end nightclub. It was quite strange to be carded upon entry to the hotel that I am staying, but it was nice to see so many people having such a great time. I don't think I have ever seen a hotel lobby with so many people having fun and letting loose. The bottom line is that there is so much to see and do here. We have to return this summer for a few more days (if I can find another great rate on a room) so we can see all that we missed. This time, I'll be dressed a bit more appropriate (sans my bright safety orange beanie). If you find yourself visiting the Charles River area of Boston, I urge you to check out The Liberty Hotel. You WILL NOT be disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyLove the bar!!
I came to the bar to get some work done and to enjoy a non-alcohol cocktail (which they have an amazing selection of). Collin was so pleasant and offered to make mine with slightly less sugar. Amazing cocktails with even better bartenders!
