Culinary treat!
It was a culinary evening of a high level. The service, presentation and explanation, including the wines, was excellent. Conclusion. Recommended. Worth repeating for us.
Be the first to ReplyBest Meal in Several Years
Sans Crevate was a fantastic experience and delicious meal. The understated serving team explained what was necessary, but let the food and presentation do the talking. 4 courses, well spaced, with two of the three of us doing the pairings (one alcoholic, and one non-. The courses were all creative and delicious. Asparagus, fish, lamb, strawberry were the main themes, with others weaves through. Portions were perfect, and our gluten/dairy free party was well cared for. After making the reservation, I read the reviews and was nervous, but if those nights were anything like tonight… wow, people will complain about anything! Cocktails and four courses for 3 people, and pairings for just over 400 Euros? An incredible deal for the level of care and attention to detail Sans Crevate exhibited. We’ll worth it.

The welcome was again warm and friendly. No problems adjusting lunch. Very tasty dishes and beautiful wine. Smooth and pleasant operation. After previous times we are very satisfied again. We will definitely come back.
Be the first to ReplyTop gastronomy in a casual atmosphere, a perfect weekend away in a luxurious B&B
This Michelin-starred restaurant has been a leader in gastronomy for 20 years. Yet the atmosphere is informal, which is also reflected in the name of the restaurant: Sans Cravate. We are fans of the special interior with nature and (fun) art details (birds) But what we didn't know is that renovations have recently taken place, making the atmosphere even cooler than ever: you have to experience it to understand what I mean. Veronique is without a doubt a hostess with experience and presence. Chef Henk van Oudenhove is a real culinary talent. Sommelier Casimir professional and helpful. The wine glasses are never empty😉 Casimir starts our experience with Belgian bubbles “Entre deux monts” from Heuvelland, a blanc de blancs, so 100% chardonnay. A winner that is on par with champagne. Delicious snacks, of which the croque monsieur with grated old compte cheese is something I particularly remember. Then we really start with the first starter, the sea bass tartare with beetroot, the latter has a very mild taste, without being overpowering. As a second starter we get a slow-cooked turbot with a watercress gravy. The presentation is quite modest, but here it is mainly about the taste of the turbot, a valuable basic product that must be fully appreciated. The main course is a “painting on the plate”, a pigeon from Anjou with morels. The cooking of the pigeon is worth a special mention because you rarely have this perfection. The dessert is based on rice, Jerusalem artichoke, green apple and caramel. With a perfect balance between sweet and fresh. With the coffee there are a few homemade sweets with a nice closing quote “don't forget about the little things in life” During the week there is a 3-course menu for 59 euros. 4-course 98 euros and 5-course 129 euros. A nice detail are the toilets, which are only accessible via the kitchen. You can already see your next dish in a real life setting in full action. An interesting fact is that there is a luxurious B&B La suite for a romantic weekend and above all no worries about having to drive home with some alcohol after dinner. Our favorite dish was the main course of pigeon, such perfect cooking is rare. As can be deduced from my description, a restaurant visit at Sans Cravate is an all-in experience that you as a gastronome must have tried in order to be able to participate.
Be the first to ReplyTaste experience with passion
Time and again we happily make a detour to dine at Sans Cravate. From the warm welcome and nestling in the cozy interior, you feel the passion that characterizes the entire team. Every dish, from the snacks with the aperitif and the various courses to the sweets with the coffee, are real flavor bombs and yet fantastically balanced. The chef's respect and craftsmanship for quality products shines from every plate. Add to that the warmth of the hostess and the dedicated, always appropriate suggestions from the sommelier and you know that you will have a wonderful memory when you leave. It's certainly not cheap, but you get what you pay for. If you are looking for a gastronomic restaurant in Bruges where you want to leave with a wonderful feeling, Sans Cravate is the right place for you.

Be the first to ReplyLunch
We already knew Sans Cravate by name but had never considered eating there before. When the participating Dining with the Stars restaurants were announced, we decided to make a reservation for lunch. We were warmly welcomed by a young man; his service and eye for detail stood out in terms of operation. We had a nice meal, although the additional cost of € 17 per person for 3 small snacks was not really worth it. We enjoyed the 3-course lunch, a bottle of wine and a coffee afterwards. Together with the snacks, our bill came to €213 for 2 people. In the end, our benefit with Dining with the Stars was €2 per person, so it is not worth waiting for this promotion. The lunch with a 3-course menu is available all year round for €59 p.p. We will definitely come back!

Very nice setting, acoustics were pleasant for conversation with 2 and the food was super tasty. Flavors are strong but not dominant, perfect balance. Parking nearby.
Be the first to ReplyVery good
This restaurant unfairly does not get such good reviews. We had a wonderful meal there last March 12. We drank beautiful wine and the staff was also very correct. Glad we didn't take the reviews seriously because it was a beautiful evening. It's a shame that you have to pay for the amuse-bouche. First time this has happened to us.
Be the first to ReplyNot worth it
The atmosphere was interesting, but not all of the elements worked together, and it was difficult to identify a unifying theme or to answer the question, "why"? The service was largely fine when the servers were engaged, but that was infrequent. The pacing was poor. We sat with empty plates for long periods of time. There was little cheery snit the service, and i did not feel sincerely welcomed. They were indifferent to us. The food? The chef had some interesting techniques and a nice way with mushrooms, but overall, i found the food to be uninspiring. Sole veronique us supposed to be delicate - ours was heavy and overly sauced. Pretty as served, but inderwhelming. I said to my guest after dessert, "if it takes 15 minutes to get the check, i'll scream." It came 20 minutes later, and -wait for it- was 372 euros for 2, with wine. Not worth it.
Be the first to ReplyVery long wait between dishes, totally overpriced
We ate there a few days ago. They have a menu for dinner, no a-la-cart option. This is fine and we hoped that also meant that the service and tempo will be adequate : If you have only a menu option this means that all tables (restaurant was full) are served about the same. Easier for the kitchen.
We had to wait 30-40 minutes between disches. This is unacceptable especially from a Micheline starred restaurant. Maybe it is because of lack of personnel during the pandemic...? Anyway, no excuse when you pay more than 100 E per person without wine.
Food on the other hand is very good so the cook seems to know what he is doing. It is a pity because the whole experience felt unworthy. We will not recommend this restaurant or go back. We recommend to the staff to go to " refter" not far from there to see how it should be done !
