Paco Meralgo Barcelona Reviews from The Last Year
EXCELLENT
Everything you ask for is great, the treatment and service EXCELLENT, the location fantastic and the atmosphere very pleasant. Cuttlefish croquettes, salad, Iberian ham, shrimp pancakes, cod omelette, octopus with bacon, EVERYTHING SPECTACULAR! Delicious desserts! The only drawback is the wine list, they put a lot of margin in the prices compared to others in the area. Without a doubt to always repeat, NEVER FAILS! Thank you!
Super attention!! Bolivian present!!
Excellent service, quality of the tapas, speed, exquisiteness and super trendy place, I live in Colombia and I would return a thousand times. Times !!!
Processing.
Bar snack at half past one on a weekday. Little variety of tapas, cold and at disproportionate prices, as well as those of drinks. It doesn't help that the staff who have to serve you do so with an unpleasant air of arrogance. I will hardly return.
Would recommend!
Absolute must when you visit Barcelona. This place has incredible atmosphere and the food is simply amazing. The service was second to none. Would definitely recommend to anyone who likes to eat. We went there with a total of 4 kids and they really enjoyed the food. The restaurant is quite loud at night so it allowed them to act as kids which was perfect for a family outing.
Excellent tapas
We dined here during our recent stay in Barcelona. We had to book in advance to ensure we got a table. Upon arrival, we were placed on a high table (four of us) and soon after, a group of American tourists were seated beside us -as the table was I think for 9 people. While initially unhappy with such an approach, it wasn’t intrusive or uncomfortable. Only thing is being seated in highchair best part of two hours isn’t very good for your back! That aside the food was excellent. The service was okay to so nothing really to, complain about. Overall, the experience was very good and I would definitely return to this place.
This tapas bar was recommended by our hotel, and we are so
This tapas bar was recommended by our hotel, and we are so glad we went! Waited for about 30 minutes outside with no reservation, but they offer you drink service while you wait. Victor was our waiter, and he was great. Service is excellent. We started with Potatas bravas, that comes with spicy mayo and hot sauce, which came out at the same time as the big spicy meatball. Which I don't believe actually has meat in it but it was delicious. Tomato bread was great. Scallops were good, but the tuna tataki was the star of the meal. The steak bites are served sizzling hot and cooked to perfection. Restaurant is upbeat, fast paced and worth your time. Tiramisu was amazing! Wish we had more time to go back again and try more of the menu.
ן cab understand the hype
Great restaurant with a great atmosphere with some great gluten free dishes and good service. I can understand the hype with this modern place and cuisine
⚠️EXPENSIVE PRICES FOR A SIMPLE THINGS⚠️
👎🏻Tourist Trap👎🏻 F.Ex: Wine per glass so expensive regarding the cost price. Without sense. I am a neighbor and regular customer for many years. Ajusten un poco los precios!
If possible: reserve
Make sure you make a reservation or be prepared to wait. The restaurant is bright and pleasant and offers tapas (and more) of good quality and at high prices. The service was quick and courteous. My tip here is clear: Tuna Tataki.
Advised
Very popular place in the Eixample area. We had a table shared with other guests in Altillo. Fast service. Excellent tapas. You have to book. Highly recommended
The trip to Barcelona alone is worth repeating
Excellent quality food and fair prices, friendly staff, eating at the counter was truly a wonderful experience, in 3 days I went twice.
Great place
Discreet service. Worthy of note are the octopus, the March tartare and the battered cod. The patatas bravas were nothing special, too spicy (the waiter was very honest in informing us before ordering). Unfortunately the cocktails are awful.
We had some of the best tapas in Barcelona.
Refresh, anchovies, lightly battered and fried with just a little lemon juice were amazing. We also had the tuna belly and tomato salad with marinated garlic and onion vinaigrette. Mind blowing highly recommend this place.
Love it
great place to go and eating good food. Although they have a lot of tables I suggest you reserve in advance since it is always full. Service is great also.
Excellent food but…
We found ourselves going to this restaurant on the recommendation of the hotel we stayed in and so we decided to call to book and were told that they did not accept reservations. In reality, however, they took reservations, so much so that, once we arrived, they asked us if we had a reserved table. The food is of excellent quality but the flaw lies in the staff who, as far as we are concerned and having experience in the sector, were not very welcoming, at times rude because, seeing our difficulty in choosing the dishes, they were unable to advise us and to make us feel welcome, indeed.
To end a day in Barcelona in style
Nice atmosphere behind the counter and a truly incredible culinary experience with cuttlefish croquettes (sepia) and a very successful tuna tataki. To finish, a raspberry maracuya mousse, a pure delight. Nice wine by the glass.
Quality cuisine and top-notch staff
The place was recommended to us by the hotel where we were staying and we were delighted! The staff bent over backwards to find us a place even though we arrived without a reservation and with our two-year-old daughter in a stroller. The service is perfect, the tapas are both refined and delicious and the staff are really friendly, both to us and to our daughter! I highly recommend and thank them very much for their welcome! A good address to remember in Barcelona!
Do not miss this place!
This place is unmissable!! Come here - make sure you book- and get the staff to pick you a selection. I’m not kidding- this place is incredible. The croquette calamari is one of the best things I have ever put in mouth! Absolutely insane how good it was. Come here, enjoy! Your welcome

Paco Meralgo was our first meal upon landing in Barcelona, and I'm so glad it was because it really set the tone for our trip. We had a reservation, thankfully, because the place filled up real quick after opening. And they noted that my partner has a gluten intolerance, providing an allergens menu so we could be sure of which dishes he could and could not have; always super appreciated, especially when traveling! Additionally, all of the staff were so friendly and helpful, happy to make recommendations as far as the most popular/their favorite dishes, and the amount of food we were ordering. As chronic over-orderers, this was extremely helpful for us. We ended up getting oysters, patatas bravas (not safe for gluten intolerance, but I inhaled these babies myself), seasonal vegetables with romesco, grilled razor clams, and grilled octopus. Everything was excellent, but the octopus in particular was absolutely incredible. One of the best-cooked octopuses I've ever consumed, and the thin piece of iberico lardo on top added an amazing flavor. My partner says that the octopus is in conversation for the single best bite we ate on our whole two-week trip across Europe. The space itself is very nice; definitely a bit cramped, but that's not too uncommon throughout Barcelona, we found. It's pretty casual with a very lively ambience to it. Everyone was happily chatting away and seemingly enjoying their experience! Would definitely recommend hitting Paco Meralgo if you're in the area, and a reservation would probably be a good idea.
Loved the local vibe and great food
I’m almost hesitant to leave a review of this restaurant because one of the things we loved about it was that it has such a nice neighborhood feel with mostly locals. The tapas were excellent particularly the cod fritters, tuna tataki, fried onion, and octopus. The wait staff were very welcoming and attentive. One of our best meals in Barcelona. I suggest making a reservation online. It fills up.

If you have to pick one place to eat tapas and you're visiting, this should be the one. They have a wide variety of options, you will definitely find something you like. Their wine list is extensive and delectable sangrias! We ate all possible croquettes, meat all, fresh salmon and Tuna tartar (must try), scallops, carn brioche and everything was delicious.
10/10 - wayyy above and beyond service (even when we messed
10/10 - wayyy above and beyond service (even when we messed up our order). And our fave meal in Barcelona. Must visit :)
Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to Paco Meralgo.
We came in on a Thursday night and it wasn't quite packed yet, but does get more full later on at night. So I'd say get an early reservation to beat the crowds. Every worker we encountered was great. Gave us great options to try as we were indecisive. I like the layout of the restaurant because the seating is spread out and in different parts of the restaurant. I also like that the restroom are upstairs. I have to say their food is a bit on the pricey side for tapas BUT for the quality you are getting it's worth it. First, their drink menu is great and they don't skimp on the alcohol. I had a bottle of wine which paired well with our meal. Now the food. Hands down the best patata bravas we've had in Spain so far (and we've had them with each meal). The sauce that they use is what makes amazing. Don't miss out on them. We got the ribeye and it was cooked perfectly! Now the dessert. This had to be one of the best desserts I've had. We had the French toast and I wasn't sure what would come out but let me tell you get this. It was the best thing I've had - it's so hard to describe. So go in and try it lol. The tiramisu was also great. This is a great treat yourself meal!
We enjoyed sitting at the bar.
The tuna tataki was great...so savory and amazing. Everything else was good, very fresh. Nice wine! I'd say go for the seafood here - it was all on ice at the bar, and lovely to look at (and taste).
Food was incredible and exceptional.
We went there as a party of 3 and tried many tapas. One better than the next. The tuna tartar is great. Don't miss the beef chunks with garlic . Mushrooms were good too. Chocolate truffle desserts were amazing too. Tiramisu was good, but in all fairness I'm not a huge tiramisu fan in general. Bottle of wine was good. Overall, highly recommend this place.

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
