Paadee Portland Reviews from The Last Year
The mango was overripe, slightly browned and had no flavor.
It came with only about a teaspoon of coconut sauce. The rice was cooked nicely but the dish in its entirety had barely any flavor.
First class
Very fine pan-Asian food with a Thai focus. The curry with cod had the perfect sweetness at the beginning with a slight spiciness in the finish. Truly first class!
Great food and they mark the menu with gluten free options.
They will also check with the cooks to see if something can be made GF. I had lunch here and it was very fresh, spicy hot and delicious. Would return.
Heard about this place as one of the highly rated Thai
Heard about this place as one of the highly rated Thai restaurant in Portland as it is part of Langbaan group. Drove from California arrived in PDX and decided to try Paadee, we called and they said no reservation needed, first come first serve) so we went to the restaurant, the host said the waiting time was half an hour, it was very cold and raining outside, I asked if we can order a drink and wait inside, the host said NO! Ok understood! seems like the use the bar counter for people to eat, so I waited outside for my husband to pick up my jacket from the car, the host which I found it very arrogant told me I have to leave can't wait outside of the door...how rude!!! If it's not because it was late and we were tired after a long drive, we would go somewhere else, so we waited! The ambiance was nice but The food was just ok not an authentic Thai dish is more of American Thai version, the chicken and green curry dishes were salty, the pad see ew noodle was soggy! After all this experience we won't come back again!

Waited over 45 minutes for a free table, make sure to make a reservation before hand, food took ~20 minutes to get here. Some food may be very salty. Overall the people there are nice.
The servers were friendly and I loved the vibe.
Pretty good portion and the taste. We had a family menu and it definitely can serve a group of 4.
Called in a reservation of 7, they said they had time at 5.
We said great please book it, so they took all my info, then told me they charge a deposit for each person ($20/head) which would be applied to the total after we ate. So I paid $140 just to reserve. One person didn't show. We all ate, bill was pretty high, and I paid on one card. When they drop the bill off, they tell me they are doing me a solid because normally they would withhold the $20 deposit for the person who didnt show, but I paid for. Thanks SO MUCH Food was fine but for the stress of it all, never again.
This Thai place was recommended to me by several people.
It's got good vibes and the staff is friendly. There could be a wait. The menu is a little different than a traditional Thai place. It's got some interesting choices. We couldn't decide, so we did the chef's menu. It might have had a different name, but essentially we got a few different dishes in a set. There was a noodle dish and rice dish, along with a few other items. All of the items were tasty and complex. It was a perfect amount for the three of us. Overall, we were happy with the meal. I would consider this a little more upscale Thai food in quality and price.
Very solid thai food.
Got good old pad Thai. Only big complaint was while it tasted good I feel like it could have had more flavor. Maybe request for some spice?. Portion size was great
Got the ba mhee pitsanulok and the pork belly was rly good,
Got the ba mhee pitsanulok and the pork belly was rly good, I liked the cocktail but it was like $14 for like the small glass but it did taste good. My friends curry was good and service was friendly
Portland's a pretty good city for Thai food, but among all
Portland's a pretty good city for Thai food, but among all the 4/5* options in the surrounding area, it took me a long time to end up here, though it deserves to stand out more. We probably spent only $5 more on the entrees than we would at one of our go-tos, but it was more like +$20-worth of ambiance and uniqueness in cuisine. We'll be back for sure, including certainly to try the family dinner.
