Nopalito San Francisco Reviews from The Last Year
The margaritas were pretty good and the quesadilla rojas
The margaritas were pretty good and the quesadilla rojas was decent but I wish the kick in flavor was stronger. But it was pretty fulfilling. It's a nice casual spot but can get quite busy. Would recommend checking it out if you're in the area and they have a parking lot.
The ambiance was cute and the staff were pretty friendly.
I got the fish tacos which didn't feel like anything special, but a friend got the Totopos de Chile and I was absolutely obsessed. I want to go back just for those and maybe a pitcher of the sangria this time.
I don't understand how this restaurant is so highly rated.
Paper napkins, tasteless food and overall experience was bad.
More like a 3.
5. The biggest problems I had were with the vegetarian main (I'm forgetting the name) which was $28 and was just some pretty bland beans and mushrooms ?! All the appetizers were good though and reasonably priced as well. I particularly enjoyed the nacho plate and the cauliflower. Another plus is the buzzing atmosphere. It feels rarer these days to find restaurants with that type of atmosphere in SF so it is a welcome change. They also have a strange policy that you open a toast tab to order, but if you don't close out they automatically add a 20% tip ... Even though you order through your phone.
Finally got to try this place while staying in SF.
Pretty good options for Mexican food with a twist. The drinks were good and they have a variety of tequilas, if you're a fan. The service was friendly and very attentive. I had the huarache de huitlacoche and my husband had the pozole and wagyu steak taco.

So I did get food to go just had too long of a week so just recommended to me by an Uber driver and shout out to him!!! The menu was not too extensive so I appreciate that I decided to go with the pozole rojo boy was it tasty I'll say it's not as tasty as the pozole from the market in Mexico City but I'm not in Mexico City!!! I appreciate that they included all the proper accoutrement that is required for a proper pozole. Super great spices and flavors the cuts of meat were great I could have used a little more hominy but that's okay I also ordered a side of their homemade tortillas boy highly recommend those they were delish. Also for a later on snack I got some chips and chose two of the salsas as shown in the pictures the pinky one I'm not sure if it's the medium or hot it's a little garlicky it's an interesting flavor the red one with seeds is absolutely flavorful and fantastic. This restaurant does a great job with to go food it was packed up I have to say one of my top 5 to go packaging
Food and drinks are always flawless.
I've never eaten anything short of delicious here. I love the order from your phone process which gets things buzzing to the table right away, plus it takes away the "split the bill" saga bc everyone just orders, shares and pays. Extra friendly staff every single time. This place doesn't miss.

I went late in the evening because I was craving something sweet. Their champurrado and hibiscus concha were delicious!! I did not try their food, but if it's anything like their dessert, then it's amazing. The staff was also very helpful, the woman was able to tell us about their different dessert items before we chose.
Nopalito is absolutely phenomenal.
It holds the top spot as my favorite high-end Mexican restaurant in all of California. I stumbled upon it on Hyperflyer and often opt for delivery from there when I can't dine in; they offer better prices and don't tack on additional third-party fees like some other platforms. While the food is undeniably fantastic, with numerous reviews attesting to that fact, don't overlook their drinks! They're truly outstanding and offer a unique taste experience you won't find elsewhere. The service and atmosphere are equally exceptional. You really shouldn't miss out on this gem. Give it a try--you won't be disappointed.
This adorable brunch spot is quite popular, and for good
This adorable brunch spot is quite popular, and for good reason. Despite its small size, it's bustling with activity. We visited on a Sunday and indulged in several of their vegetarian dishes, all of which exceeded our expectations. To cap off our meal, we savored their delectable flan, rounding out a perfect brunch experience. Our server was incredibly friendly and attentive, enhancing our overall enjoyment. We can't wait to return!
Really enjoyed trying Nopalito! Huge portions and nice
Really enjoyed trying Nopalito! Huge portions and nice outdoor seating area with heat lamps. We ordered: - totopos con chile - mole poblano de pollo - pozole rojo Totopos con chile were well flavored with a bunch of toppings and not super spicy. Mole poblano de pollo and pozole rojo were both huge portions, well seasoned, and meat was tender. Overall, we enjoyed Nopalito :)
We ordered the Totopos con Chile, Quesadilla Roja, and Mole
We ordered the Totopos con Chile, Quesadilla Roja, and Mole Poblano con Pollo. The Totopos were a bit dry, and we wish that it had a bit more toppings--cotija cheese and onions. The quesadilla was huge and packed with extremely tender pork belly! Lastly, the chicken (the thighs were a little dry) was covered with a nice blend of mole and salsa. The Horchata on the other hand--Regular (Almond-flavored) and Strawberry--was incredibly tasty and packed with flavor. The cinnamon-sweet milk drink was to die for. This is an absolute must-try! Last thing worth noting was the outdoor patio area was really nice and a perfect vibe for brunch on a nice sunny day. Overall, Nopalito is a nice Mexican restaurant that fuses various Latino cultures. Definitely worth stopping by if you're around!

This place is so good! We sat in the covered patio, which was very nice with greenery. The service was very quick too! I loved the appetizers that we got, especially the chips. I ordered the sweet potato tacos which were so good! I also ordered the Mexican hot chocolate (forgot what it was called). As a chocoholic, I was in heaven, it was so nice and chocolatey! I like that it was vegan. I wish that they had a bit more options, as my husband likes to order burritos or fajitas when he goes to Mexican restaurants, but he was satisfied with his dish too. Great place!
One of my fav spots in the city.
We go anytime we are visiting! Such good food and great service.
Take out from Nopalito
I can’t speak to eating in the restaurant. We ordered takeout from Nopalito on SF2Bay. Guacamole was delicious. Chips them selves were a bit thick, tasteless and greasy, but worked well with the guacamole. Tamales were OK. My main objection to the meal was the posole which had great flavor, but the meat was incredibly fatty. Maybe that’s the way peasants make it in Mexico, but it’s not the way I make it.
Paper menu!
Excellent food. Nice space with some good outdoor patio options. My only quip would be the reliance on QR code tech. It doesn’t work for out of country folks…only US customers!
Excellent Mexican cuisine.
Enjoyed a shared meal for three on a Tuesday night. All of our dishes arrived quickly and were excellent: beautifully presented and delish. Place was lively and there was a line-up but it moved fairly fast (no reservations). Menu, ordering and payment all done on our phone, quick and easy (although I saw another table get printed menus). Menu has a wide range of choices and they all looked good. We'd go back for sure.
Gluten free heaven
This is a great Mexican restaurant with a wide variety of gluten free items and a dedicated gluten free fryer (important for us with celiac disease). The food was really excellent and fresh. Try the beef empanadas! There is a cool take-out window and seating area on the side of the building for outdoor dining.
