Jaya at The Setai Miami Beach Reviews from The Last Year
The food, service and ambiance were amazing.
I went for a birthday dinner and I enjoyed my time. Everything tasted spectacular. The music was a bit loud so my partner and I sat next to each other. The music choice was great. This is a great location for celebrations.
Below average food.
All the food is below average and cold. Service is fine at best. Venue is pretty cool. Why don’t they just cook decent food?
This is the place to see and be seen.
It's bougie and pricey, but I made up for it by the glass...IYKYK... everything was good, except the pad Thai and the desserts. Pad Thai needed help, but the desserts were beyond amazing! I had this s'mores dessert. Just when you thought you were taking a bite of heaven, there were these firm, chocolate bombs that burst in your mouth at the precise moment, it left me wanting more
Amazing!!
Fantastic dinner & show! Great music/Dj And delicious food by Chef Veejay. Excellent service from the team, especially Adi the sommelier & Alberto our server. Lasloz at the bar as well. Thank you for your kind hospitality during my family visit in Miami! I look forward to come back.
Great night!!!
Great night! My husband and I had a great night. Special thank you to Sommelier - Adi, he is really knowledgeable about wines.

I was taken there for the Brunch, for my Birthday and it was very good. The food was good, service was great, awesome live music during the brunch. Had a Great experience.
I was craving a bit of Asian food my first day in Miami
I was craving a bit of Asian food my first day in Miami Beach and this place popped up in my Yelp search. I was thinking about making a reservation, but got distracted because I was making plans with a girl friend that lives in Miami Beach and it has been a year since I've seen her. During lunch, she told me we were having Fourth of July dinner here and boy was I excited! Dinner was decadent. Decadent actually is an understatement, but for the first time in forever, I had a dish where I was blown away. Before we get too excited, I must go through list of things we had for dinner before my gold fish of a memory forgets. The following were all very made, but are staples at any fancy Asian restaurant so I only had a few bites to save some tummy real estate. - Cucumber roll -crispy spicy tuna -yellow fish carpaccio? -edamame - Octopus: thick grilled octopus with potatoes and cauliflower in some red and cream sauce. The octopus was cooked very well, but a bit salty to my liking. Not sure when this became the case, but I have been shying away from octopus, squid, and shrimp so it is more of a me problem - Naan with some sort of tikka sauce or curry: Whatever that sauce was for us to dip the naan in was delicious. Not spicy and is more of a butter chicken like moment. - Tikka Sea Bass?: This was mind blowing. It takes a lot for me to really enjoy a dish and this one really impressed me. My taste buds were going crazy and I was just so curious what the heck was on this fish. There are two pieces that come on top of a mini grill like moment. Careful, there is wood or charcoal burning. When I asked my friend's husband what the green sauce on this fish was, he said it was some sort of Indian seasoning. Not sure what it was per se, but it was amazing. It comes with this familiar sweet/sour sauce that I usually get with my samosas at any local Indian restaurant. No complaints whatsoever for this dish except, I wanted more. - Peking duck: what you would expect from a peking. Duck with scallions, cucumbers, and some rice wrap. It came with hoisin sauce. We asked for sambal and chili oil to make it spicy and it was delicious. Only feedback would be the skin needs to be crispier. Obviously the food is very important when one goes to dine, but I would not be doing this place a service if I did not mention the performances they have going on while dining. It all comes with the dining experience! There is a pond in the middle of the restaurant and there are two stages on both ends so guests have some sort of performance going on by them while dining. They recently switched it up and had a cirque du soleil performer on stage. Let me tell you, this person not only can bend in a million ways, but she lifted her entire body weight with her teeth! How? Well, you will have to go see for yourself! You can tell they pay great attention to detail and the staff are all very sweet. I went back here for breakfast the next day and it was a very delicious, well put together breakfast buffet. If you like traditional breakfast stuff, you got it. If you like a bit lunch like breakfast? You got that too. I 100% recommend this place for anyone. Price is a bit steep but with all good reasons. My only regret is I didn't get the Tom Yum soup. Go, have a good time and thank me later. You're welcome!
Food, service, ambience super awesome.
Shows were great. Tried the mushroom n dumplings. Words r short to express. Vegetarian Thali was my dad's favorite. Loved d butter chk. Salmon penang was too sweet for my pallet. Nasi goreng was just perfect. Pavlova took my breath away
I can only judge this place based on their brunch.
We wanted to like the Jaya at The Setai, but I'll have to say that for a 100+ per person price point (plus tax/tip and all those extras...) the whole party expected way more from the ambiance, food, and cocktails. In Summary: *Service was just fine; our server did the bare minimum and at the end of the meal, dared to ask for an extra tip on top of the already annoyingly high 22%. He only poured our bubbly and tried to upsell a more expensive bottle upon our arrival. *Atmosphere, to be honest, strange. I'll leave that one there. *Long lines to be served. The food presentation was all cramped in a corner, giving a chain restaurant vibe instead of the expected 4+ star hotel ambiance. It felt unpleasant having people trying to grab the food altogether. *There was another awkward line to get your cocktails prepared and served; once again, our waiter only poured our bubbly. That was it. *The Setai needs a little bit of a facelift and some love. It has to be said. For those planning to visit Jaya, I would request a seat by the fountain when making reservations, or state that you'd like to be in the main outdoor area, otherwise, you'll get placed in a room with no view to enjoy. Be advised.

The place is fun, has entertainment, service was good the food was ok, everything went smooth until we paid. They charge you a service fee already which is ok, but they expect for you to tip more even though they already charge a service fee, and when you don't things turn. When we didn't add an extra tip the water didn't even say thank you have a good one whatever.
Music so loud excellent food
Good food and very fancy place one of the best restaurants in Miami Beach the worst thing was the music so loud we could not speak on the table

Ambiance : Jaya is stunning! From the moment you enter the hotel front door the vibe is Asian beauty. From the accented red rose display to the lantern chandelier lighting, massive trees surrounding the fountain pool. Fan are moving that air giving a feeling of the outdoors. Humidity is high in the dining room. Service: excellent service Food : the seabass was delicious. I made the wrong choice and ordered that Thali tray. While it was good it was similar to any thali tray I've had. It is definitely shareable for the table as an appetizer. I should have ordered something more unique. We also had the octopus app. It's a large portion as well and quite tasty. Overall : this is a beautiful spot to dine. I do highly recommend paying a visit to Jaya. Noise level is loud yet enjoyable. They play great music! Entertainment: we were here for the 9pm show of a beautiful acrobatic dancer.
Literally the worst restaurant experience I've ever had.
Visiting from out of town for my friend's birthday and they sat us in the corner by the wait station. For a birthday dinner. The hosts were exceptionally bad as well; we tried to move our reservation to 10:30 and they called to tell us that we couldn't make one that late (why have it as an available time slot then?). So we came in at 10. Then while we were eating, they sat someone at 10:45. we were almost entirely ignored by our server for the entirety of our dinner. The one saving grace is that he took my undercooked steak off of our check. however, while I sat with my undercooked steak in front of me for 30+ minutes, the table next to us had three managers, two waiters, and two waitperson assistants attending to them. my friends birthday was also never acknowledged by our server and when we got up to leave about an hour earlier than we had planned on, there was no mention of her birthday at all. this was the most unacceptable service I've ever received as someone who worked in the industry for over four years. after we made our complaint regarding the steak, we were still not acknowledged by a manager. our waiter was a good server, when he was actually at our table. the food overall was good aside from the overly rare steak. this was way too nice of a restaurant for us to not be appropriately taken care of.
This was my second time having dinner at Jaya and nothing
This was my second time having dinner at Jaya and nothing has changed except it got better! Service was top-notch, starting from the valet, the check-in area, and our server, honestly, everyone was polite and knowledgeable. The decor is a modern elegant Asian twist. The water element that's located in the middle of the seating area/floor gives it a calm vibe which I love. The music or the DJ wasn't loud and it gave us the opportunity to have a normal conversation. The food is 5-star! This is a pricey restaurant but I always say, if the service and food are amazing, then who cares about the price, right? Definitely a great place for couples or for a large group, especially if you're celebrating a special occasion. It's a must-try restaurant.
Hot, Humid and not worth it!
What I didn’t realise before visiting was quite how hot and humid it would be inside this restaurant! It was really bad. And you’re sat near water. This results in a large number of mosquito bites! The food was below average. Some came out cold. The salmon was way over cooked. Not worth the many painful bites I now have!
Brunch was awesome
Awesome brunch. The buffet is incredible. We were lucky enough to be in the section with Lina and Caesar they were rockstars and did an amazing job of taking care of us. Food was great. Service great. Price great. Thank you.
My Mother’s Day Was Amazing!
This Place Was Phenomenal! From The First Person That Greeted Me Soon As I Walked In, Shacarri, To The Ambiance, The Food & Entertainment, Nothin Was Short Of Amazing. I Loved Every Moment Of It. The Way Shacarri Went Over & Beyond Just So We Would Have An Amazing Time, Is The Reason My Husband and I Will Definitely Be Back. 5 Star Rating Across The Board.
Must visit
Beautiful place. Great vibe. Good shows. Good food. Many options for vegetarians. The vibe is great. The restaurant is huge, the bar is small.
Amazing 10 stars
Myself and my partner had a wonderful night at the Jaya resturant. Ambience was fabulous, staff service was to the highest of standards, very attentive to customers needs, welcoming friendly, fabulous work ethic. The Food was extremely good, I’ve been to south east Asia many times and have to say they food in the Jaya was impeccable just divine, ordered duck and beef tenderloin and crab dumplings as an appetiser just couldn’t recommend this restaurant more highly. Cocktails fabulous. It is expensive but it’s worth it. The entertainment on the night was wonderful also. It’s def a great experience if you like fancy places with beautiful back drop while dinning and the food to be exceptional, and staff service on an other level then this resturant is for you. I will def be returning. 10 stars all day long!!!
Great food and atmosphere
We took my son here for his birthday and it was such a great experience. You are treated to great service, an interesting menu with everything we had tasting great. The room and decor is beautiful and the music and dancing was great. I would definitely go back.
Good vibe for date or business dinner.
Food was so so . Love the curry salmon most. They don't provide fire show anymore. So do not expect too much for the the performance
Definitely Reccomended Entertainment and Great food
What an experience! Our daughter found this restaurant and I did not expect entertainment a great atmosphere and incredible food. We ordered truffle dumpling that were served with a foamy broth, fried rice, Tina Tartare Sashimi with incredible ponzu sauce, Tom Kha soup and Curry Chicken. It was all wonderful. The only thing I would not have ordered is the Thai beef it was spicy and too much. the language barrier was sometimes difficult with the staff but overall and great experience. The water, music and dancers were added to make this a perfect night.
Great atmosphere.
The DJ played great music I wished there was a dance floor. They had belly dancers for entertainment. Great servers. Food was amazing but pricey.

Guys this place was hot literally so hot I was slipping and sliding also steak is buono I don't really like Indian food so chicken was ehh but that salmon was better then your freeeekin moms. Lemono meeange pie was a bit weird Ioverall I'd give it a three out of ten based on the fact that it was so hot in there
Ambiance was great.
The environment is very lively. I opted for a more quiet area, so indoor seating. Which is unfortunate as the scenery is more picturesque outdoors. The food is descent. Overall the food is not what would bring me back. It would be the staff and the ambiance of wanting and experience. I had two servers helping out my area, they were cordial and attentive. I enjoyed their conversation, it was nice because it was not intrusive but provided an amiable and personable experience.
Go here if you don't like food.
Seriously. We ordered a variety of food from the menu and the first dish that came out was cold left overs from yesterday. They literally served us cold pakoras; we complained and they sent out freshly made ones that were barely edible. We ordered the paneer dish that the waiter said came with rice but we received only the skewers and we were served a side salad instead, that arrived at the very end of the meal. Huh? The dumplings we ordered were at least edible but lukewarm -- how you get lukewarm dumplings served in a steamer basket is beyond me. It's a beautiful location and setting just avoid if you enjoy food.
Great vibes, food comes out really fast but everything was
Great vibes, food comes out really fast but everything was just a tad overdone, still good though for the atmosphere!!
Great atmosphere and entertainment.
A bit busy on the weekends because it's Miami, but good none the less. Food quality and quantity were also reasonable.
I came here for my birthday and it was great.
The dancers are a vibe and makes the ambiance perfect for a birthday. The Indian food was incredible along with the Pad thai. Our server forgot to bring out a couple dishes we ordered so the service could've been a little better.

This is another place that seems to be very popular for no reason. I understand that the environment is beautiful with pools, palm trees, and lights and the hotel itself is very exclusive but that does not make up for the food. Being an Asian fusion restaurant, I would expect there to be good flavor profiles but there was nothing that stood out. Along with this, the portions were insanely small for the amount they cost. The wait was also ridiculously long when there were many empty seats with several servers available. This is a place you come to see one time and never again.
I absolutely love this place! Been here twice the food and
I absolutely love this place! Been here twice the food and drinks for their jazz brunch is amazing
I just keep coming back!!
Is it a little cheesy? Yes. Is it overpriced? Yes. Is it super fun and worth it. 100%. A fantastic atmosphere in a very cool setting with great food, lively entertainment, and great service. And also very pet friendly. Can’t wait to come back!
The best of the best.
Not only was the setting so lovely but the whole experience was so memorable. From the Asian influenced excellent food to the remarkable entertainment it was one of our very best eating experiences. And a highlight was our attentive professional waiter Levont. He made us feel special. It is expensive but well worth it.
Fantastic Birthday lunch
Great Birthday lunch here, they do offer a fantastic set menu (you need to ask) There is some background building works but didnt disrupt the lovely outside area seating
Huge disappointment
Huge disappointment. Was here for x-mas day. I had a reservation at 8PM, and as I got into the lobby of the Setai, I was already surprised by a huge line. I already knew they overbooked the restaurant! I cot it confimed and told that I had to wait about 15 minutes, with a complimentary glass of bubbly, which was at first still ok. However these 15 minutes turned out to be 1 hour. In the meantime I called several other restaurants but as it was Dec 25th they were all full. So I asked again and I finally got another table, in a room next to the main room separated by a glass/window, so that I could not enjoy the show, which was one of the main reasons I booked this place. Now the good thing: food was ok, so was the waiter. But given the price and the downturn that they completely overbooked the restaurant I can not recommend this place,it was a huge disappointment, and I will definitely not come again and can not recommend this place.
Terrible organisation
We had a reservation for the restaurant. Due to extreme bad organisation of the restaurant we had to wait more than 90 min. As client we have 15 min before we loose the reservation. First they said to wait 5 min, than they forgot us, than we again had to wait 40 min even with a reservation. For a 5star hotel this is a very chaotic, bad management. I have been in many 5 star hotels but this one is terrible. A topper in a bad way… get your business in order !!!
Impeccable
We’ve been to Asia many times (over 20 times) and been eating their excellent clean and spicy dishes - but, the food at Jaya was impeccable and even better than we’ve ever have had on any Asian restaurant ever - and I mean, we’ve realy eating our way over the continent.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!

So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
