il Modo Fort Worth Reviews from The Last Year
Went for Sunday brunch around noon.
Was seated quickly. Really nice atmosphere to sit, relax, and chat. Great, friendly service. The lemon waffles were amazing, light and fluffy, not too lemony. Also got a side of bacon that was tasty. Ordered the mimosa tower and the blackberry was my favorite but the peach was also very nice. Overall it was a lovely place for Sunday brunch and I'd love to go back and try more.
The porterhouse had no flavor.
The asparagus tasted like lavender. Very disappointing. The restaurant was pretty. This was the most disappointing steak that I've had in Texas. No flavor at all. We ordered medium, but the char was a bit much. It was burnt. This is a one and done.

Beautiful place and great service
Came for dinner on our first night in Fort Worth after a busy afternoon out. We were so pleasantly delighted. Menu was great, service was great just for the start. We shared plates of starter and pizza and had a beautiful bottle of chianti. Really was fresh food with real flavour. Would highly recommend.
The restaurant was nice overall.
I would come here again if I'm just looking for an Italian place to stop by. The rigatoni was good I would get that or the risotto with scallops! Between the two risotto with scallops, but I wished there was more scallops. They give you three. The price is slightly higher than most, for the price I would rather go to Osteria Muro. Not bad for Fort Worth.
We enjoyed the dinner as an ok experience.
It was good, has potential, could have been better. Being in Texas, you will see menu items not in authentic Italian restaurants. Like, the brussel sprouts side plate, which was really good but not Italian. I had the rigatoni w bolognese. Pasta cooked perfectly and the bolognese lacked authentic flavor. Had the pea soup w crispy prosciutto. Very good, waiter forgot the pepper, realized he forgot the pepper, and left it on the bill. He was very nice, but should up his game. Place is clean and downtown. Maybe or maybe not coming back.
If you've ever wondered what it might be like to dine
If you've ever wondered what it might be like to dine inside a West Elm, this is the place for you. Looking around at the vibe and decor, you'll forget you're in a restaurant. The service was quick and efficient. As far as the food: the pasta and bread are made from scratch, and it shows in the quality. The bread was fluffy and perfectly moist. You're given an appetizer of bread slices with oil and balsamic for dipping. With good bread comes great pizza crust: the pizza crust is also thick and fluffy with a thin layer of crispiness on the edge. Both the Margherita and Bianco pizzas had balanced flavor- not too much sauce, not too much cheese. The Bucatini pasta was classic, with thick and soft decadent noodles. The pecorino and pepper accented the pasta without being overpowering. The Aperol Spritz tasted fresh squeezed and refreshing! Lots of people complain about parking. There is street parking nearby (if you can find an available space) and some garages a couple blocks away. Valet is $10, and if you want to pay with card you have to go up to the 24th floor of the building and pay there. The valet driver was also slow and it took me almost 20 minutes to get my car. Our waiter also brought out a wonderful, complimentary cannoli with fresh fruit as a birthday treat (we were there celebrating). What a nice surprise!

We went for my husbands birthday and the food and ambiance
We went for my husbands birthday and the food and ambiance was amazing. It was candlelit! Real authentic Italian taste and fresh pasta. We started with the yummy espresso martini (I ordered two). Our starter included the wedding soup and meatballs and it didn't disappoint full of flavor. Our name dishes were the ravioli and the gnocchi and it was fresh and had a diverse range of taste. The tiramisu was served in a cup with a candle for a perfect touch. The waitress was very engaging and friendly! Will go again.
Brunch was just OK
We ate brunch here mainly for convenience since we stayed at the Kimpton Harper. The hostess was a little slow in seating us, and once she did, the service was good. Our food was brought out quickly. Honestly, we were both disappointed in our meals. I had the brunch pizza, which had very little seasoning at all, and it had a raw egg yolk in the middle of the pizza. This made for an interesting presentation, but the taste did not appeal to me. My husband ordered the steak and eggs, and he said neither the steak nor the potatoes had any seasoning on them. We both had coffee, which was very strong. The coffee cups are quite small, and our server only refilled them once. Honestly, $47 for two entrees and two coffees was really overpriced, and we wished we had gone somewhere else.
Food continues to be great, but service is awful.
This is a December 2023 Update: We love the food at Il Modo and last night did not disappoint. 7 fishes all cooked incredibly well. Hats off to the team in the kitchen. Service however was another story. They had 2 servers for 20 some odd tables. What a bunch of nonsense. I ordered wine pairings with my meal. Most either came after I was halfway through a course or not until I asked. The expediter had food coming out way too quickly. Food was left at the table, but used, dirty dishes not taken away until we asked. We will be hard pressed to return although we have eaten there many times. Management, I am not sure if you need to raise wages or improve working conditions but you need an appropriate staff level, especially on a holiday. And let us not forget the premium we spent on food. We were very disappointed and will do 7 fishes next year at home. September 2023 We have eaten here many times and rented the private room for a birthday party once. We always find the food to well prepared and the service spot on. Had to wait for a few minutes our most recent time here. Bartenders very friendly and happy to let you try things. We started with the meatballs and were not disappointed. A reviewer noted that they did not have a lot of breadcrumbs. That to me is a good thing and the way my Italian grandmother made them. Dinner for one was the lobster risotto. Tons of lobster meat. Only problem, as someone else mentioned ealier is that it was over salted. Could not be finished. We took the leftovers and mixed with some plain rice to make it more palatable. Should not have to do that. Watch the salinity meter guys. Rigatoni Bolognese and the bucatini were cooked perfectly (not too salty) and sauced properly. Shared a tiramisu for dessert. Very tasty. Plenty of wine choices by glass or bottle and not completely stupid in price. A little troubled that valet which used to be free when dining in now costs $8.00. That seems a little out of line IMHO and is ultimately reflected in the tip to the valets. Oh and BTW, if not dining in, it is $20.00.
Have not had a bad meal yet, just some slight hiccups
