Enoteca Pinchiorri Firenze Reviews from The Last Year
Truly great food, but more of a 1 star experience.
We were very excited to visit this storied three star restaurant during our visit to Florence. The food itself was outstanding; each course was absolutely delicious, complex, and balanced. They allowed a lot of flexibility allowing me to have the standard tasting menue and subbing in dishes from both the vegetarian and a la carte menues for my pescatarian wife. Where the restaurant falls surprisingly short was on service and hospitality. Micheline stars aren’t just about the food, but also the experience and environment. We were seated in the courtyard which was lovely but not memorable. Our service team was very hit and miss. We sat for a while before anyone came to welcome us. During the meal itself we sometimes were well looked after but at others were not. Wine and water glasses were frequently empty etc.. The restaurant pushes on the boundary of Micheline Star value. Once you are spending as much money as this meal cost it’s not worth griping about value but the wine list is easily priced at 5-7 times retail which is excessive. I also didn’t have the advantage of an offered consultation from the Sommelier as I poured through the literal encyclopedia that is the wine list. I settled on a really nice grand cru Chablis but would have loved to have worked through some of the regional options about which I am less expert. A couple of other constructive criticisms: while Signore Pinchiorri and chef Monco were very much present we received no visit from either even as we watched them interact with other tables and parade people through the kitchen toward the end of the evening. It started to lightly rain (we were seated outside), no offer was made to move us out of the rain through our dessert or even really acknowledge the rain. Toward the end of our meal the staff disappeared and then returned to start cleaning up all while Signore supervised them. I mean literally cleaning the dinning room; they were removing the silver from the room, the service pieces from the central area, the centerpieces from other tables. I would not have been surprised if someone had started mopping the floors. I had to get up and fetch our remaining wine and water to finish with dessert. No offer of coffee was made. We had to get up to ask for the bill. We have been around and quite frankly I expect more from a place recognized in this way. 3 stars because the food was sensational.
Poorest 3-star restaurant
The waiters of the restaurant were in general good and friendly. However, the older Italian guy was not. He only showed up when we paid for the bill. He showed bad faces to my wife when he noticed that my wife gave additional tips to a young waitress who looked after us. The food in general was not bad but far from a 3-stars restaurant standard when compared with those we went over the world, and even in Italy. Definitely, overpriced especially for the wines, €2400 for 2 people. Don’t go, even if money is not an issue. We were allocated in the small garden area. There were lots of mosquitoes and we were giving insecticides and mosquito repellents. The mosquitoes were particularly annoying throughout the dinner. There were no apologies and no alternative arrangements, such as moving us to the indoor dining areas upstairs. I have to say that the hospitality was absolutely “amazingly” below average. It just gave us an impression that they were so arrogant to the extent that they even looked down upon their clients. Just from the point of their services and environment, this restaurant does not deserve a 3-star reputation.
Please do Yourself a Favor!!
To say that this restaurant's price/quality ratio is extremely high (very low quality for the price) is an under exaggeration. My wife and I spent 3 nights in Florence and 2 nights in a small village outside Florence this April (2024). Having eaten out every lunch and dinner on our holiday, Enoteca Pinchiorri was the least satisfying experience by far. If I ignore the astronomical prices, it was still the worst meal we had. There was one course that was excellent - the Lasagna Verde. The suckling pig was very good but the rest were entirely forgettable. In addition, it's beyond difficult to imagine how this restaurant could garner 3 starts considering the service alone. We had to flag down the service team multiple times to refill our water glasses. They actually brought one course when I was in the restroom so it was sitting at my place by the time I returned, with no server in sight. After we finished a bottle of red we had ordered, we asked the sommelier for a recommendation for a glass of red. He recommended a glass of Barolo I was familiar with. As he started to pour the glass, he looked up at us and casually said, this wine is 80 Euros/glass. Then he proceeded to pour, without any doubt, the smallest glass of wine I've ever been poured in all of my 40 years eating out. It was absolutely insulting. I must state that this review does not go without a frame of reference. I did dine at Enoteca Pinchiorri many years ago - 2012 to be exact. I'm aware that many things change over the years at a restaurant. However, the previous experience was one of the best dining experiences of my life. The service was light years better, as was the food. I'm not sure if we caught them on a bad night - so hard to imagine - or quality has deteriorated in all areas (except, of course, the wine list itself). I'd love to know who the Michelin rep is for Florence. Please, please, please do yourself a favor and save your money and experience a much better dining experience (albeit a casual one) by going to one of the many excellent trattorias in the Oltrarno neighborhood. I'd give this restaurant a 2 stars (at the most) our of 5 for service and food. If I factored in price, it would be 1 star.
A national building purchased by Giorgio Pinchiorri in 1972
A national building purchased by Giorgio Pinchiorri in 1972 Enoteca Pinchiorri carries all the excesses one might expect from a Michelin 3* Restaurant, from the 16 page Water menu to a €1950 3-Wine pairing and housemade Breads matching each course. Currently toqued by Riccardo Monco while Maître D Alessandro Tomberli directs gratuitously accommodating service it is atop plush seats that diners are invited to dine a la carte or as a €310 degustazione, the latter served at a pace accommodating those who eat both slow and fast. An opulent space filled with oil paintings and flowers, all of it mirrored by grandiose plates full of color, it is after selecting beverages that Canapes arrive as a rainbow of textures and flavors including a Squid Ink Beignet and Black Cabbage Tartelette with Quinoa. Cherished by oenophiles thanks to Pinchiorri's extensive cellar, though a few bargains can also be found, late-Winter's tasting began with a warm Oyster perfumed by Laurels before progressing through a thin piece or Squid atop Uni and sheeted Pasta with White Pheasant Ragout plus earthy Bechamel. Frequently veering far from Italy for Ingredients as well as inspiration, and thereby stripping away some of the 'terroir' that makes many eateries of Enoteca Pinchiorri's caliber unique, Sauteed Snails in a Mousse of Sunchoke is nonetheless delicious while Turbot is unfortunately lost beneath all the ingredients on top. Increasingly complex with Duck Breast bathed in Passion Fruit alongside creamy Foie Gras the latter half of the menu is highlighted by a "Cheese Course" featuring Polenta plus Castelmagno while Desserts are elegant and enjoyable but "Italian" in no way. Declining the Cheese Cart, but not an impressive collection of Mignardises, it was after a thirty minute wait that the check arrived with a take-home gift and thanks, though no lasting impact as this sort of Food can be found at many Michelin 2* or 3* establishments nowadays.

Excellent food - well worth the experience
Food and service was excellent. I managed to get a reservation by going on their wait list a week before. They called & confirmed a few days prior. I ordered a la carte - starter: sea bream, main: pigeon. They added a small pasta for the primi for half price. Very substantial meal. Total came to 300 euro including wine & water. They did throw in a few extras.
Perfection.
This restaurant is a must visit when in Florence. The service, the food, the atmosphere - everything was perfect. We booked many months in advance to secure a table for dinner and it was worth it. We were welcomed to the restaurant by very elegant gentlemen and shown gorgeous table where a charming sommelier brought us the wine bible. It was truly amazing. Each staff member who presented a course did it with clarity and precision. Every mouthful was divine. All the little additions in between, also perfect. They deserve their three Michelin stars and a round of applause. Could not have had a better experience. Thank you!!
Ever have that fear that you might choose one of these
Ever have that fear that you might choose one of these highly rated restaurants and it might be a flop? That fear of spending $600+ a person only to be disappointed. Well, this is one of those places.. my first time here it was great, the second time.... horrible!!! food over cooked and when I pointed out to the owner the dried out, burnt rabbit... she laughed and said they weren't serving rabbit that night..... thank god the waiter was there to confirm the fact that they were. I won't waste anymore time with this review..... just be warned...
I walked into this meal with an open mind after reading
I walked into this meal with an open mind after reading various mixed reviews, and feel compelled to write my own. For context, I've travelled globally for work for the last 30 years and like to think I have a balanced perspective of what is good and what is a value, premium or a luxury offering. So let's break it down Atmosphere - sterile and boring. Lighting it far too bright and chatter or opportunity to interact with other diners is very subdued. On a side note a we had a couple sitting next to us who were on 1st name basis with management. The wife chose to answer her loud ringing phone during dinner and engage in a loud conversation. I call this out as clearly the restaurant either has mixed standards for fine dining or money is a motivating factor. Service - I'd rate it as on par with a 2-3 star restaurant, this was the highlight. Food - this is where everything falls down. We selected the tasting menu and there was a single dish that we thought excellent, everything else was blah. Every dish lacked texture, making us wonder if the food was prepared for babies. I'd rate many Non Michelin and 1-2 star restaurants well above Enoteca for excellent/inspired food. How this place achieves 3 stars is beyond me. During our trip we experienced two examples that I'd rate well above. Wine Pairing - maybe there was a language barrier, we felt it lacked inspiration and no attempt was made to explain why they matched certain wines. On the plus side, they don't charge by the glass but instead by the number wines you select, and they proactively refill your glass. This element is pretty good value. Cost - we did not experience the upsell pressure others speak off, but for what we enjoyed...yeah I agree there is little justification for the price At the end of the day, I'd encourage readers of this review to skip and explore many other options for a great meal and experience.
Fine. But not fine.
Lots of nice food. But not spectacular. There are many wonderful restaurants in this city. I don’t understand why this one got 3 stars.
Must avoid!!!!!
This has got to be one of the worst dining experiences I ever had. Complete disaster and train wreck of a restaurant. Came to celebrate just getting engaged and thought wow what a perfect ending to getting engaged than by visiting a 3 michelin star restaurant in Florence. Everything should be perfect right? The food was terrible. After the second dish I was like how does this place have even 1 star. Every dish had something majorly wrong with it. Either too salty too acidic too sweet. And presentation was literally like they just threw it together and sent it out. By the time dessert was coming around I pushed my plate away disgusted and wanted the check to leave. Shofking the service even though there was plenty of staff was lacking. I had to ask a few times for water refills. Napkins not folded. Just small details that shouldbt have been missed but were! This restaurant is used to disappointed guests tbh! Every single table I saw left with the same disappointed face as ours. Truly they ruined what was supposed to be one of the best nights of my life! No one even said congratulations. After contacting I have not even heard an apology from them! Such a disgrace of a restaurant! Definitely must avoid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The most amazing dining experience of my life.
The food, the service, the everything!
Almost left out of here in tears with how bad the evening
Almost left out of here in tears with how bad the evening was. It was supposed to be for a special occasion considering the expense. I was shocked after the first course this was 3 michelin stars! Food presentation was basic at best! The food; everything had major issues like too salty/ sweet/ acidic! Service should be near perfect and this was decent! I feel like when you leave a 3 star restaurant you should be absolutely blown away by everything. By the end of it i was pushing away dishes because of how gross the food was. I even refused the trolly of chocolates since I was so frustrated. I think the most disappointing was the fact that no one seemed to care. This place is an absolute disgrace! They seem like the type of place that would brush off the reviews because they think we dont get their food and no its because theres no talent! Theres a difference!

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!

perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
