COTE Miami Reviews from The Last Year
First time experiencing a Korean BBQ and Cote does set the
First time experiencing a Korean BBQ and Cote does set the bar high. The "Cote" experience is what really makes it. Cote is Michelin rated posh, sleek modern Korean Steakhouse restaurant nestled in Miami's Design District. Its dark interior, concrete floors and granite table-tops really gives it that Miami, NY vibe. Cote offers a wonderful dining experience. The service is amazing. Our server(s) were delightful, very helpful as they explained every step of the process and helped guide our dining experience. His suggestions on meal / pairing selection that he thought we would enjoy helped us make a better decision. Although I prefer wine the specialty drinks are worth trying. Once the drinks, appetizers and entrees started arriving all evenly paced you'll begin experiencing a fusion of Korean flavors that will give you a new appreciation for Korean cuisine. Don't worry you're not doing the cooking; your server(s) aka personal chef's by some rotate by your table all working in sync either cooking, bringing new dishes or cleaning up any empty plates. Every dish we tried was very good, my only complaint was Kimchi Wagyu Paella. It's cooked in a cast iron skillet which adds to its deep and delicious flavor, however some of the bottom rice was slightly burned. While this didn't make the dish horrible it really took away from what could have been an extraordinary dish. The noise level was at a comfortable decibel, just enough to hear the music yet allowing yourself to speak with your guest. And although the food is cooked on your table you won't leave smelling like smoke. Cote is a must-visit for anyone seeking a unique and delicious dining adventure.
I celebrated my boyfriends birthday here, what an absolute
I celebrated my boyfriends birthday here, what an absolute treat! They were able to sit us down immediately and gave us a drinks menu before we can blink. I love to have a sip of something while I look over the menu. Unfortunately I was the only pescatarian of the group so I wasn't able to enjoy the Butchers Feast as everyone else - but I did appreciate that they had other items available in the menu. The only downside was that the fish was an incredibly small portion (especially when you compare what everyone else is eating). I also ordered the ceviche and Dol-sot bimbimbop but still left hungry. I think the waiters knew that I was still hungry - so they gave me a few pieces of veggies from the butchers feast as a comp. The experience itself is worth it plus seeing everyone enjoying their time... Service was also phenomenal which is why I'm not knocking off any stars.
Very good experience overall! Very good meat, amazing
Very good experience overall! Very good meat, amazing cocktails! I would be nice to get better lighting, at the table, it was little too dark for me!
I love love LOVE COTE.
From the moment you walk in you feel an energy or excellence. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. You can't go wrong with any item. My go to is the Steak Omakase. They also have a great happy hour menu with $8 cocktails. Great date spot and the bar is also a good spot to mingle.

Omg I just had the most amazing dining experience First off you walk in and the beautiful lights the drinks amazing I had the Miami porn star ( the drink) Then table experience you choose your cuts of meats we had the filet mignon and ribeye the cook it at the table to your specifications And Kyle the manager was amazing Thank you all for this experience it was our first time and I will definitely return If you haven't been go run it's amazing Neve Storm
The food was amazing.
Our server, Michael, made it a top 5 meal in my life. Appreciate you, Michael!
This is rather a disappointment! I was expecting more.
I don't even have pictures to show has nothing was impressive, Although the service was excellent! if you like people to come to your table every two minutes, I found it very overbearing. The food is very good, but quite Americanized!

We did the tasting menu of the meats (Feast of USDA Prime & American Wagyu Beef + Japanese A5 wagyu add-on). The server provided an explanation of each of the meats as well as the flavor profile. The A24 wagyu was tender and cooked well. The ambience of the restaurant felt very nice and sophisticated. I can see why Cote received a Michelin star. At the end, they provide a cute postcard of the restaurant as memorabilia. The service was excellent, and I would recommend to book in advance! This is great for a special occasion (definitely on the pricier end). They do offer happy hour deal at the bar if you want to try some of their foods without committing to the full menu.

Although impossible! to get a reservation I must admit, that the food and experience are worth it. I like it that you can eat as cheap or as expensive as you want. We ordered the butchers feast, and it was super filling and delicious!
One of the best happy hour deals in Miami.
They have four food items and several drink options and they serve good portion sizes. My friends and I ordered all the appetizers and we were full by the end. It is a standing bar but it's no big deal to me. The bartender, Kevin, was also super observant and kind.
Don’t believe the hype!
Lured by the Michelin Star, we were excited to try Cote Miami. Upon arrival, you are greeted by an in-hospital bellman “bouncer” that you would expect in a late-night strip joint. Instead of a welcoming demeanor he stared through you with deep contempt. Navigating past the noisy bar with patrons six deep, you are seated at your table, and the sales pitch begins. The hype of A5, Kobe, etc., is relentless, and it's no surprise the prices are unpublished. You start to recognize that this is more akin to a Samurai, aka Benihana knock-off than a culinary severe discourse in Korean cooking. Theatrics take precedence over quality and service. The dining experience is boisterous and frenetic with the roar of the bar crowd, from the open seating design to the waiter/chef cutting your meat into cube chunks with scissors and expecting you to create a taco concoction with a modest array of Korean accompaniments. We tried the seafood platter, wedge salad, and steak tartare, and they were average but not Michelin Star-worthy. The kicker was just before the cooking started; the waiter announced he was going on a 20-minute break and someone else would take over! Huh? Even Benihana’s frowns on cigarette breaks during dinner service! The service deteriorated during the break, leaving drinks and water unfilled. Management comped drinks, but we are not here for free stuff - we have resources, and we wanted to experience Micheline quality dining. This is just another theatrical steak place fast-talking the significant-eyed tourists visiting the big city. There are too many great restaurants in Miami to settle for acceptable mediocrity.
Michelin starred Korean BBQ
Fantastic Korean BBQ! You won't find better cuts of meat anywhere else! What you'd expect from a Michelin-rated Korean bbq restaurant. However, I did think their gochujang popcorn chicken was a bit oversauced. I was also expecting their tonkatsu ribeye to be a bit more tender. I'm a big fan of their happy hour menu, where they have a collection of cocktails and small bites available for just $8.88. You'll just need to stand at the bar to eat. Service was friendly and top notch. The ambiance was sexy and sophisticated.
Minor error made right!
We came here after a recommendation from a friend who knows the Miami scene inside out. He promised that Cote would be “hot”. When we got there we saw what he meant. It was packed and buzzing. We had a drink at the bar and waited to be shown to our table. Then something a bit weird happened and from what we understand, somebody with a similar name was seated ahead of us. We waited quite some time and eventually asked a member of staff what gives. From there they spotted the error and we were looked after like royalty. Everything was perfect. We chose a nice bottle of wine and ate 3 cuts of delicious beef. We were happily about to pay the bill when Olivia informed us that the food part of our order was on them!!! She apologised profusely for the mix up and wanted to be clear that errors like that are not how they roll. Well - to say we were surprised would be an understatement. To make errors is normal and in a busy and popular place like this one might often be dealt with coldly and made feel as if one was lucky to be there at all. Not at Cote, Miami. Not only did they acknowledge the error but they owned it and made it right. Thanks to Olivia and all the excellent staff at Cote. We had a great evening and we will be back. x
Highlight of our trip
Our experience at COTE was outstanding. We did a small appetizer (“steak and eggs” which was absolutely to die for) and the Butcher’s Feast and left plenty full. We couldn’t even finish all of the stews/salad etc. Service was attentive and everything was cooked perfectly. We have a mid-level spice tolerance and didn’t find anything spicy at all, contrary to some of the other reviews.
Expensive “Melting Pot”
Just OK…it’s an upscale “Melting Pot”. The constant switching of waiters/servers was odd. Our cook was nice along with the 5 other people coming around. The steak was good, but all the accompanying food was not. Not a lot of choice of sides. I’m on a keto diet and all I could eat was the meat. The meat was cut into halves which was very big. Sometimes I to spit it out in fear of choking! NO silverware or knife to cut only chopsticks! It’s a very young crown more there for “pictures and drinking” it seemed. Definitely NOT worth the $400.00 (only one drink ordered) for what we got! Again, staff polite. Just not the experience we would return to. Save your money IMO! I’ve dined all over the world and this isn’t it. Sorry not sorry.
Waiter/chef with foul smelling breath salted the food from a bandaid on his pointer finger.
Very interesting dining experience with high quality well seasoned food. Our waiter turned my stomach with bad breath (he stands over you and the food while cooking it) and the way he salted the meat from his pointer finger that happened to have had a bandaid on it. Disgusting.
Amazing dinner
Wow, I went here for my birthday and the wife and I both hand the butchers feast. Amazing food! Cooked perfectly by the fantastic staff. More than enough food for both of us. A couple of great cocktails to o go with dinner. I highly recommend.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
