Like, really good. Perfectly seasoned through and through. Simple, yet decadent.

I personally recommend the Star Route Farms garden lettuces with Banyuls vinaigrette, Pizza with tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, capers, and basil, and Stracciatella ice cream with caramel sauce and a chocolate sablé. The service is super professional. Everything from the clearing of the table of crumbs before dessert to the timing of when entrees are delivered was great. I especially liked the handicapped ramp in that it is gradual in its grade and went past the kitchen. This restaurant is very senior citizen friendly. The only things that might be taken to another level are the parking and value for the money. The ambience is slightly Mediterranean with its Arabic or Persian influenced lighting patterns. This is a quietly talkative restaurant for that special client relationship, pop-the-question moment, or birthday celebration. There were no small children or crying babies to spoil the mood. Overall, this is an amazing restaurant that I think is worthy of celebrating life's best moments.
Returned recently for dinner with my family.
The café service was not optimal,...... while there were several servers to our table, They seemed to ignore us in favor of other tables who sat much later than us but were always served before us. . Food was OK, but it was not worth the price, an apple cider vinegar was served in a wine glass with approximately a 4 ounce serving. We ask to take our leftovers home but they forgot to do that and I assume tossed them. Finally service tip is mandated 17% as add on. No option to choose a tip appropriate to service.
This is THE farm to table.
Really fresh seasonal ingredients, thoughtfully but not complexly prepared. No outrageously unique ingredients or stories, just simple good food. Very professional service and very festive ambience (lots of celebrations). I think I would like to try the cafe next time!

My partner and I ate dinner at Chez Panisse the evening of July 5, and we had a delightful time over delicious food. The multiple courses were each nuanced, well prepared, and well paced through the evening. As you may imagine, the portion sizes are smaller than you would find at less expensive restaurants, but are exquisite experiences. They were able to omit an ingredient to accommodate a food allergy with advanced notice, though I did not explore what substituting for that ingredient may have entailed. I reserved this time a month in advance and checked the week prior, which I would recommend for everyone planning to dine here. Though on the pricier side, my partner and I enjoyed the prix fixe menu and fine dining experience. I would recommend trying Chez Panisse once if within your budget and if you have any interest.

We had a delightful experience having lunch at Chez Panisse Cafe. We hadn't been there after the pandemic, but the food and service was just as good as we had remembered it to be. Our meal started with the complementary bread and butter. The bread was the perfect temperature and tasted fresh; I enjoy Acme bread in general hir always feel like it tastes best at Chez Panisse. We ordered two different salads as appetizers; I do not understand how they make such "simple" dishes so extraordinary. The dressing, crisp vegetables, and cheese all came together beautifully in both salads. I particularly enjoyed the zucchini salad. For the main dish, I had chicken with saffron couscous. The chicken was extremely tender with great crispy skin. It was flavored with a mix of spices. I normally do not enjoy couscous very much but the couscous was also amazing! The flavor of the saffron came through in the best low-key way possible. We finished our lunch with the seasonal galette with vanilla ice cream. It was Apricot on this day. The tartness of the apricot with the crispy crust and creamy vanilla ice cream was the highlight for me. I would not hesitate to call this my favorite dessert in the world. Overall, I had a great experience at Chez Panisse and definitely will come back in the future. Every time I go, I feel that it makes me appreciate food so much more (how each ingredient adds something to a meal). I especially want to go back when the fruit for the galette changes.

Finally booked a meal at Chez Panisse! We booked exactly a month in advance to guarantee our preferred Friday night dinner time. My immediate impression upon entering the restaurant space was how cozy and warmly-lit everything looked, as well as the homey feel of the kitchen nearby. It was packed but we were warmly invited in. The menu for the night included a nice mix of salmon, chicken, and vegetarian options. We also did the wine pairing, all of which we enjoyed except perhaps the dessert pairing. Our hosts were sure to educate us thoroughly about the farm-to-table processes. My only complaint was that over the course of the 4 dishes, the dishes came out with 30 minutes in between each dish. Cornish hen was a bit dry, but I thought all of the vegetarian options were amazing! Nonetheless, would definitely come again.

I made a reservation for my wife and our favorite couple. They reached out ahead of time for any food allergies, to which I responded scallops. Surely they could work around one food allergy. We got there and the appetizer was Scallops. Very disappointed. They accommodated me with grilled endive (not an even trade). Our main course was pigeon and two super small pieces. Not even a free glass of wine for serving scallops. The dessert was amazing. But at this price, everything should be amazing.

Everything tastes so fresh, clean and not overpowering. The Pizza de Michele with goat cheese, prosciutto and rosemary is also a hit in our table-- it's a very light pizza, perfect for an appetizer. I wish my mezzi rigatoni with asparagus cream, black pepper, mint & pecorino had protein like chicken on it or something in my opinion. However, the sauce still tasted amazing :) My favorite would have to be the desserts. We ordered all of them-- and when I asked what's the best one, the server said the galette. And it truly was the highlight of our dessert tasting! The pink lady apple-sour cherry galette with vanilla ice cream complemented each other. The chocolate cake (Lindsey's chocolate cake with bourbon caramel) was bomb too. It would have been better if there were more candied pecans to it! :) Overall, 10/10! Would definitely recommend the cafe upstairs. They also have dinner service downstairs for a 4 course set menu ($175 per person).

I ate here a number of years ago.
I thought the prefix menu was terrible and I would rather order off of a menu and pay a little bit more. I paid nearly $200 for homemade turkey sausage and it was not good. The Disability access is terrible through the kitchen. The service was good but a bit creepy. I have not been back since and do not plan to go back. Sorry, Alice Walker but you just didn't impress me.

Chez Panisse continued its culinary legacy for my mom's 88th bday celebration! With a view of the crackling fire and humming kitchen of perfectly timed creations, the night flew by. Being able to witness the craft in action gave the kids a strong appreciation of their meal... watching the pastry chef mold the most beautiful scalloped pattern in the tarte tatin and then tasting a bite is a moment they won't forget. Each course was wonderful and we all went home savoring the details. From the host to waiters to servers and chefs, the staff could not have been more professional and welcoming.

We ate lunch at the Cafe during the Bioneers Conference and it was delightful. The Cafe is more reasonably priced and we felt that the combination of the delightful meal and the Cafe's pricing were a good value.
Way overpriced for bland uninspired meal
Terribly disappointing and overpriced. There is a very good reason they lost their Michelin star so many years ago, what is baffling is how they’ve continued to increase their prices. We paid $700 for the prix fixe menu with wine pairing on a Wednesday evening. The service was clunky but most importantly the food was shockingly mediocre. I absolutely would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. They are charging for the name and legacy but their cuisine and value have dropped embarrassingly low. For $700 I expected to enjoy one of the best meals of my life, this wasn’t even my best meal this week. If the chef has lost their inspiration, it’s time to close up shop, not continue to gouge based on a history that has been tarnished.

It is a charming restaurant in North Berkeley and I was very excited to eat here because of the hype and rave reviews that I had heard. The interior is elegant and welcoming. We sat downstairs and had a view of the open kitchen which was neat. The menu changes daily and we made a reservation about 3 weeks in advanced. We had the dinner set menu which was $175 per person. The service was good and the servers were kind. When each course is brought out the server tells you about the food and where some of the ingredients are from. As for the food itself, I was disappointed. The food was cooked well but overall none of the dishes were exciting to eat! The best thing that I ate was the bay scallop bite which was a pre-appetizer course. The quail was the entree and the meat itself was moist but the food was barely warm when it arrived to our table which was a huge let down :(( ! The salad had chanterelle mushrooms but I felt that the flavor of the mushroom did not come through because of how much vinaigrette was on the salad. The pasta was perfectly al dente and had a nice eggy taste which I enjoyed. I appreciated their attention to detail and was pleasantly surprised by the happy anniversary decoration on our dessert. Given how expensive this meal was, I don't think it was worth it. The service was not stand out and the food was mediocre at best. The most memorable aspect of my dining experience was the fact that the food was so UN-memorable. I now understand why this restaurant no longer has a Michelin star.
Legend Delivers
Went as a family to this legendary location. It was outstanding in all regards - from the arrival to the wait staff to the food. Our waiter gave the most animated description of the wine options and was interested in what we preferred rather than his favorites. The food preparation was wonderful with great complimentary flavors. Great evening.
Service culture needs to find itself - very disappointed
We were recently there for a celebration dinner - an anniversary and birthday. We planned one year in advance. This was a very big deal for us. The food was just as impressive as we imagined. However, the service was very very disappointing. From the moment we arrived to our waiting staff, we were made to feel like we were doing them a favor. No smiles, no conversation, limited interaction - aloof, cold and impersonal. There is no excuse for a highly known and established first class culinary focused restaurant to have that kind of lacking service culture - very sad at these prices.

Slow service. Polite and professional but sooo slow. Waited half hour for salads. Food was Mediocre at best. Disappointing. It’s resting on its laurels. Lunch with friends for the holidays and glad not to be shooed out the door. But it took forever to get the food that it was too long.
Pleasant dinner with excellent food
I wanted to hate this place, it has a pretensious foodie rep, etc. The waiting staff was very low key and pleasant, our waitress asked basic questions about what we liked or were allergic to, made recommendations, and was down to earth. We had a nice table in view room, which was a little warm due to the west facing windows. The chairs admittedly were uncomfortable. The foods was excellent. Our group ordered different things including desserts, so I'm reluctant to recommend just one thing, especially since everyone liked what we ate (and we ate most of the food family style). The food is bit pricey for what is somewhat standard fare for a fine dining restaurant, but this is ultra delicious standard fare, in what was a surprisingly casual, down to earth setting and unpretentious service.

Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!

I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
