Casa Enrique Reviews from The Last Year
Has significantly gone downhill in recent months.
Used to be a staple of the neighborhood now I would recommend you skip it
Get the Branzino
This spot is very popular, so make sure to come with reservations and to look at least a week or two ahead. It's lively and the specials don't change. The Michelin Guide really nailed it when it noted the entree section of the menu truly shines - they are portioned to be shared or enjoyed by yourself. Nothing stood out to me as much as the branzino, however the roasted poblanos in the carne asada was a close second. Good for birthdays and dates, and get a tres leches to share with the table and a frozen watermelon margarita to sip on!
The best Mexican food I've known usually comes from food
The best Mexican food I've known usually comes from food trucks or little storefronts off the beaten path, but Casa Enrique proves that any cuisine can be elevated and still taste good. Upon arrival, my partner and I were quickly seated for our reservation and we opted to sit inside. The space is decorated pretty minimally and the interior didn't have any windows where we were sitting. At least we got a little candle on the table which went a long way. The nicest part of the interior was the golden glow from the bar display case which gave the middle of the interior a cozy ambiance. You can tell that the staff and chefs focus more on their food and service than diamond studding their space. We were given a complimentary snack of what kinda tasted like corn puffs. They were the perfect light snack to whet our appetite. Our favorites of the night were the rajas con crema, the tacos de carne asada, the flan, and the coco mojitos. The rajas con crema was unique and didn't taste like anything I've had before. It was creamy, pleasantly sweet, and savory. The tacos de carne asada were the best carne asada tacos my partner and I ever had and were extremely tender and flavorful. They also give a lot of protein which makes them worth every penny. The flan, as simple as it is, was executed to perfection. The texture of this flan trumps all flans I've had and the taste is exactly what you expect a flan to taste like: caramel vanilla goodness. All this washed down with coco mojitos? Delicious. We also had the ceviche de pescado, mole enchilada with chicken, and the tres leches which were all tasty. The ceviche was great but you can probably get this taste elsewhere. The mole enchilada was good even though it was my first time having mole but it's more of an acquired taste. The tres leches is very good but I just prefer the flan. The service is friendly and efficient. And since it was my birthday, the staff came out and sang happy birthday with a candle in the tres leches. I never expect restaurants to do anything for my birthday but I was happily surprised that they actually read the notes on resy. Overall a relatively affordable michelin experience with good food and service. Worth it.
Have been eyeing this plane for a while and came for brunch
Have been eyeing this plane for a while and came for brunch with my partner on a weekend and were able to snag a later brunch reservation. We decided to sit inside since it was quite hot out but the outdoor seating looked cute and spacious. I decided to get the huevos rancheros which were tasty! The service was great, very attentive servers and quick service. Hope to come back for dinner!

I have heard about this place for quite some time and would never be able to get in as there is always a long wait. I decided to make a reservation to see what the hype was about. I was seated immediately at some flimsy table and chairs. The waitress was not attentive and forgot about us often. It took a while to get some water on the table. That should have been our first sign. Next we placed our food and drink order and waited patiently. The drinks arrived followed by my entree and appetizer together. After a while I started to eat and managed to finish both my appetizer and main meal. I even asked for a small to go container for what I couldn't finish. That is when my fiancées entree arrived. So I sat across from him an hour and ten minutes after we arrived with my to go box as he began his meal. We asked for extra napkins that would eventually arrive with the check. After his meal we were ready to go. Not sure what desert is like but I didn't have all night to find out. Service was horrible when it came to the waitress. The bus boys were great. Acting manager of the evening visited various tables except ours so I could express my experience. Since he didn't find his way to us, I wanted to express my experience here, not only for him but for the foodie community curious about this venue. The food was okay I won't discount them there but the system within needs attention.
This is one of my favorite spots hands down in NYC.
It's lovely inside and for dining on the sidewalk. The service is great and I have yet to eat something that was not incredible. I love the Cheeto like things that they serve in the beginning with hot sauce, we had the guac and ceviche both melt in your mouth good. For entrees I had the pollo verde enchilada and it was so so so good. I would recommend it to anyone and I love how easy it is to get a table. I am thankful to live close by.

Must try!! Casa Enrique has some of the best and most authentic Mexican food NYC has to offer and I'm so glad I got a chance to go. Their cocktail menu is huge! I started off with a their special drink of the day which was a guava one and it was so delicious. For food we shared veggie enchiladas (Doña Blanca) and a chile relleno which was amazing. I typically don't opt or love chile relleno's but this was another level stuffed with halloumi cheese and smothered in a delicious sauce. I couldn't get enough. The star of the show was the tres leches dessert which was by far one of the best I've ever had. It's definitely on the sweeter side bc of the Cajeta but it works so well! Can't wait for my trip back here!

8/10 Wanted to try this place for a really long time and sad to hear they lost their Michelin star but heard they're still pumping out some great food so you know I had to stop by. First of all the little fried dough sticks with the three little hot sauces that they give you complementary are so addictive and were a great little crunch to start off with, not too filling. Margaritas were actually delicious and are a cannot miss item, with the perfect balance of sweetness, saltiness, and sourness. The enchiladas with salsa verde have a great texture with a punchy fragrant sauce, soft corn tortilla, and quality cotija cheese. However, the chicken inside was a bit dry. I would say that my meal here was good bordering on great and is worth trying but I can see why and where their quality may have shifted over the years. Also, the tres leches is solid, no complaints, but definitely not a need to have item.

thank you very much for helping me make the carnitas for my girlfriends birthday, I hope some day I can visit your restaurant
Good but Over-Priced
I can understand why they lost their Michelin star. The food is good but over-priced and I think they must keep busy because they once had a Michelin star.
Me and boyfriend went there on a Monday night.
It was kind of busy inside but we sat outside where were not a lot of people. We wait more than 20 minutes for our food that came completely cold, all the tacos, rice and beans cold. I order the fried fish tacos and to come cold that means was waiting so long to come to our table. Even the manager came to check if our food was at the table and nothing had arrived. This was the second time we went there and the first time we really had a good experience and good food. I'm very frustrated to spend money when the food is not serve properly.
The food here is fantastic.
The star of the show was the rajas con crema appetizer. I loved the rich cream sauce with all the warm spices, and the corn added some nice textural contrast with the peppers. I had the huevos con mole, and the mole sauce was just the right balance of sweet, savory, and complex. My friend had the tostadas de jaiba and tacos de lengua, which he enjoyed. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate pot de creme and queso ice cream. The chocolate dessert was dark and intense, and the cream and cookies on top were great at contrasting. The queso ice cream was nice and subtle. The meal was expensive at about $145 total, but it's worth the money.
Exceptional
Guacamole, steak tacos, mole, capped off with delicious and light tres leches. With exceptional service. Even made us a virgin margarita. Very very reasonably priced for the quality, especially in NYC.
Never disappointing.
Can't beat the price or quality. One of my favorite Mexican restaurants ever.
This modest little Queens restaurant has a big heart.
From the second I walked in, I felt right at home. The staff were lovely, the steak and mole dishes outstanding, the mezcal cocktails delicious, the chocolate custard dessert delightful... My friend and I did not notice the time and would have stayed for another cocktail if we weren't so full and buzzed!
I have been coming here for 2 years.
I am constantly blown away by this place. Not only is the food out of this world. Authentic, consistent, and jsit superb but it's extremely flavorful.... I have never been to a restaurant numerous times and it's jsit as good each time ... this is the place you will make a staple in your date night, dining routine. The staff is extremely attentive. The manager is so welcoming you will feel like royalty. They treat every guest like gold. I have never been to a restaurant that I constantly get the same dishes and appetizers and love them every single time. This place is truly a staple and jsit beyond fine dinning it's a true experience you will never forget ... most certainly worth a try but I'm sorry you will be addicted and make this a date night staple !! I recommend the ceviche, lamb shank, and the chicken mole !!! Out of this world. But literally anything you get will be show stopper

OBSESSED WITH CASA ENRIQUE! My husband and I had the pleasure of visiting casa Enrique for our anniversary and it was just a beautiful experience. Unfortunately we had not made reservations but they were able to accommodate us without any issues. For food I ordered enchiladas verdes and my husband got enchiladas de mole. As appetizers we also had the sopecitos de chorizo and even though they are very small in each bite you take you get a whole lot of flavor , the most delicious sopes I've ever had. I cannot wait to come back!
Worst Mexican restaurant I've ever eaten at.
The service is good, but the food and atmosphere leave much to be desired. I'm surprised this restaurant got a Michelin star.
Went here on February 7,2024.
Location- A block away from the Vernon Jackson 7 train stop down a side street Interior- It is L shaped restaurant- not huge. Despite having white furniture it is very dim lighting so some pictures on Yelp don't give a good picture of what the food looks like, Service- Good service. Wait staff was attentive yet not annoying or intrusive. Drinks- Only tequila, mescal, rum and wines. That was a let down for me but I'm sure others will enjoy themselves immensely. I had the coconut mojito- the first one was way better than the second. Food: Table of four- shared the guacamole and chips (5/10. Needed salt, more lime than the wedge they provided and garlic. But I know I'm a guac snob so...), ceviche (10/10- delicious and fresh). I ad the mole piaxlta (10/10) it was a nice medley of flavors with a hint of spice. I wish the rice had been more plentiful of a serving. It came with beans and tortillas but since two of us at the table got it I found it hard to divvy up what was mine versus theirs. My friends got the lamb (6/10) which they shared- it was a big hunk of meat. I was told the sauce was great but the meat was dried out. Someone else go the brisket tacos (10/10) which were reported to be very tasty. Dessert: We got tres leches (6/10) and the chocolate pot fe creme (4/10). The tres leches seem to be overly wet which isn't exactly what makes it pop for me in a tres leches. The flavor was nice but it wasn't the best I've had. The cream was basically chocolate pudding with cookie crumble and what seemed or marshmallow fluff. It was a nice flavor but I could've not had dessert and been just fine. Overall- I've had this on my list to try for a while and I'm glad I did. However, nothing was so mind blowing about the experience that I'll be making this a regular place to go.

What all my friends are saying- they have gone down a notch or 2 in the last year. went back for second visit and nothing like the first. Very average. Not bad- not good. Not a Michelen star restaurant. Stop resting on your laurels an get back to what you were
I'm not a big fan of Mexican food in general.
I also went to Pujol few months ago and we were very disappointed with the food, $500 for 2 people, we definitely don't recommend it. I came here with very low expectations but I was very impressed. Very well deserved of the one Michelin star. The chicken with mole was amazing! the chicken literally melt in your mouth soft. I also enjoyed the lengua tacos. Will come back to try different dishes.

The famous 1 Michelin star restaurant in LIC! We had a reservation for around 9p on a Friday night, but still had to wait around 15-20 mins before being seated so make your reservations early! The popular dinner slots go very quickly. I would have to give 1 less star for that bc I didn't expect to wait after having a reservation. The ambiance was very crowded even late at night, which was not ideal but clearly very popular, which I understand bc the food was indeed amazing. The meats were so well cooked and tender and the flavors were so soaked through (for lack of better word) that you'd think they marinated the meat long before they cooked it! The ceviche was very fresh. And although we didn't get any drinks, we could just tell from the tables around us that their drinks were versatile and fun. Would definitely recommend this place but make your reservations early!
Loved the ambiance of this place the minute I set foot in.
Don't let the semi unused outdoor dining space in front deter you from the warm hospitality which met me at the door. The wait time (as I had no reservation - tsk tsk I know, and at a Michelin rated place, what was I thinking?!). I was told was 1/2 an hour but it was slightly exaggerated. Not wanting to wait though, my gal pal and I went straight to the bar to start our foodie adventure. Quick mention, after a bit of perusing the menu at the bar, I spotted a table or two open up and we had only started with our drinks and guac and chips. So I asked to move to a table for two if they could accommodate. A few moments later, we were transferred to our table seamlessly. Not withstanding, we had outstanding service with our bartender that served us and I wish I got his name. He explained a few menu items, made a custom "mocktail" for my friend after asking her thoughtful questions on her likes/tastes - and I had ordered a specialty cocktail. Every suggestion was spot on - from the drinks to the entrees. The menu here is pricier than I had imagined but it offered much to love and I still felt I got a great value for what I had. Definitely fine for dining with vegetarians. Hands down, you must try the ceviche de pescado (market fish of the day). It was delicious, a meaty fish so fresh and the acidity of this dish had me wanting more. My friend loved the fish tacos and raved about the avocado sauce. It was a really good sauce! And I had the carnitas - entree where you make your own tacos. Even the sauces that came with the complimentary appetizer were delicious. I can't tell you what I was tasting - cilantro, chilies, peppery goodness. But I can tell you it was so appetizing and delicious. Totally will return for another experience.
Great restaurant in Long Island City!
It's hard to get a reservation here but I'm glad we persevered. The drinks were great, especially the espresso martinis. I'd actually never had Mexican wine before, but really liked the bottle of red we ordered. The service was excellent for such a busy restaurant - really friendly and nicely timed. And, of course, the food was great from start to finish. We especially loved the sopecitos. I will definitely try to get a reservation when I am back in New York.
Nice restaurant
Nice restaurant I had one of the best margaritas ever a bit pricey so only had one. Food was good, great starter of tortillas and guacamole. Main meal was fine I had the enchiladas. Loved the desert of ice cream. Overall a nice relaxing place to eat.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
