Capullo Cocina Mexicana Walnut Creek Reviews from The Last Year
Well I can't review the food because we didn't stay.
Went there for dinner and they were not serving alcohol. They said they had a change ownership or something he didn't really seem to know. Was looking forward to trying the place but didn't stay. We were wanting a margarita!! Too bad
The service, the food.
Everything was stellar! The drinks are crafted beautifully and with pride. The restaurant is small and intimate. I think of it and my mouth still waters. Go...you won't be sorry.
Came here for a Saturday brunch.
The interior is pleasing with enough seating for maybe about 40-50 people. The food was overall good, not the best Mexican food, but tasty and fresh. A solid 4/5 for the chilaquiles and I would rate their flautes a 3.5/5. Just wasn't my personal favorite dish. I appreciated the fresh salsa and chips that the servers were attentive to. The ladies and I got the bottomless cantaritos which weren't very strong, but that's what you get for bottomless. The mimosas my friend got were actually mostly champagne and a splash of OJ which I appreciated. (That's a good brunch mimosa!) For $20 it's a steal since a normal cantarito is $16 I think.. Overall it was a cute option and the food was decent with a good deal for bottomless drinks and brunch. I appreciated the freshly made drinks and that it wasn't premade. And we never felt rushed to leave which is a huge plus for any brunch place. I would come here again. Worth trying at least once.

Highly recommend! This was my second time here and it did not disappoint. The service was an A+, the food's presentation was pleasing to the eye and the food was delicious. It was a rainy night so it was not very busy. The ambience with the legit playlist was nice and felt like they needed a dance floor. We ordered the guacamole, shrimp ceviche and potato tacos to start with. Their drinks were on point. We ordered cantaritos, patron margaritas, mango and regular as well. Main courses included enchiladas, fajitas and tacos. Dessert was challenging to decide on after a full meal and the choices but we chose the plátanos and boñuelos (reminded me of sopapillas), which were absolutely delicious. The waiter was super attentive, friendly and gave us excellent recommendations. The vibe was super chill and friendly. It was a great experience and it's now on the list of our regular places to
I loved this place.
They were fast and the food was delicious. We had the Capullo Taco Plate and the Seafood Taco plate. We finished have with fresh warm churros. Everything was lovely
Came with a group of 10 for dinner.
Service was very slow. We were seated at 630 and ordered shortly thereafter but didn't get food until 740. I ordered a glass of wine that was terrible and asked if they would get me a different kind. The waiter refused to comp my glass. I understand that he didn't need to comp it but I asked for a courtesy since we had a large party and were spending a lot of money that night. I asked for a manager and was told no manager was there. Food was good. Fajitas very large portions. Salmon portion very small. The exceptionally slow service and poor customer service from the waiter.... We will take our business elsewhere
I really liked my pina colada with dark rum.
The rasp lemon drop was my second favorite and was really sweet, the margarita tasted straight like tequila. The food for dinner was okay but will have to be back for brunch since I heard good things about the brunch menu.

The food was delicious! I ordered the birria tacos and my date ordered the fajitas, we both enjoyed the food. As well, we had ordered the ceviche as an appetizer and it was just as tasty! I will say the price for the tacos are high, as it doesn't come with any sides and the portions are not big either that went with the price. They don't refill your chips, which I was surprised as other Hispanic restaurants will! Aside from this, the service was great and the hostess seated us right away. The waiter was very attentive checking in and refilling our drinks. In addition, the ambiance is lovely and I like the decoration/ theme of it! In all, I would definitely recommend a plan to come back.

Restaurant was very, bottomless mimosas and cantaritos were definitely worth it only WEEKENDS. Service was great waitress was very attentive. Only complaint was the beans ( I prefer pinto beans) but over all highly recommend for a brunch with family or friends!

The food is excellent! Some of the best Mexican food in the area! Great drinks as well! (The pomegranate Mule was amazing!) The service was very good and attentive. With these two factors, this place is 5 stars. The negative aspect of this establishment is the Brunch ambience. The "bottomless Mimosa" trend is negatively impacting the dining enjoyment. The large parties were so excessively loud it drowned out the music and any attempts at conversation with amongst our party. If we return, it will definitely NOT be on a weekend, which is a shame.
