Woodberry Kitchen Baltimore Reviews from The Last Year
Pleasant brunch
Beautiful location with pretty good food, the food was not quite as good as we had hoped, but all in all it was a great experience.

I'll start out by saying that I love the ambiance at this place, it's really nice! Now on to the not so nice things. The service was slow at the end, had to wait forever to pay. And the food was ok for the most part, one dish was over salted, but our steak poivre was on point and really tasty. Also, parking could be a bit tricky to find, so keep that in mind.

So great to be back and check out the reconfigured space at Woodberry. They now have an events space (Gatherings by WL) and a tavern restaurant. Same great food and drinks and great service. We started with the oysters which were plump and fresh, and had a nice touch of chili oil which we loved. We also got to try their charcuterie board which was a nice mix. For our mains we had the rainbow trout that was fresh and dressed with nuts. The pie I had was also tasty but I did think it makes for a great lunch instead of dinner...this is more of a personal preference tho. The service was very attentive from our server to the host which refilled our waters a few times. Overall, still one of the best places to dine in Baltimore. Glad I came back for a visit!
Easter Brunch
Much smaller than original restaurant. Now the Tavern and small area with bar inside and outdoor patio. Made reservations and was not told we had to sit outside. Brunch was good and service great as usual. Just would have liked to know that inside seating was not available when I booked for Easter brunch. Very disappointed.

The renovated version of this restaurant is spectacular, but the space reserved for general dining is actually quite small, while there is an event space nearby. The food was as good as promised. Service was not, and after being seated it was a struggle to figure out who might be willing to take an order and we spent ten or fifteen minutes casually talking and trying to flag someone down, listening to other tables get a warm introduction in the meantime, before someone got to us. This is one of the places that adds a service charge and makes tipping optional, and I was not so inclined. Notably, getting a brunch reservation was easier than getting a dinner reservation, which surprised me because it's a great brunch. The Carolina rice and beans dish they offered was resplendent, with fragrant rice, fresh vegetables, and a strong chili crisp complementing the robustly flavored beans. I've spent a fair amount of time in the Lowcountry but I've never had the distinctive rice varieties from that region prepared so well, including my own efforts. The salad waited until the beans were gone, but it was a fantastic set of greens with shoots and flowers and a delightful buttermilk dressing. Our search for something sweet yielded a board of pastries which provided delicious variety. The place has a variety of items that I wouldn't eat, but as a vegetarian I didn't struggle for choice. Returning for dinner would be a welcome event, but I could reasonably expect more attentive service if I did.
This is a great place to go and celebrate special moments.
Ambience and food is wonderful.

Woodberry brunch it back!!! Seems like right now it's on sundays. This is my first time in their new space which is SO cute! It's very cozy and comfortable. Everyone was kind and hospitable. We were late to our reservation, but they kindly sat us! Got the pear waffles and Turkish eggs which were both so good! Loved having the sweet and savory options.

I've heard great things about Woodberry kitchen before they rebranded and condensed into Tavern. I was very excited to try their farm to table type menu. I made reservations a few weeks in advance and we could only make a reservation for Thursday because thats how fast the tables go. Walk-ins a bit risky here since the restaurant is very small, maybe 15-20 tables max. The service was really great. Starting off with the appetizers we got sweet potatoes and leek soup, oysters, and crispy sweet potato salad. The soup was quite literally the most flavorful dish and best soup ive ever had; there were so many textures and flavors that well went together. Oysters and salad were ok. The burger has a homemade sweet potato bun (they use alot of sweet potatoes here lol) and it takes away from the fluffiness youd normally expect. Steak was absolutely incredible on the other hand. Overall 8/10 experience, would likely come back with a new menu but the pricing is on the higher end.
The ambiance was very nice.
We went on a Wednesday, and they have local artists playing from 6-9, which was really fun. The service was also good. We ordered 3 things from the menu, 2 smaller plates and one larger plate. The 2 smaller plates were very good. The steak tartare was a bit finer ground than I'm used to, more akin to a hamburger grind. However, it was seasoned very nicely and went well with the Dijon mayonnaise they provided. The pork belly was also good, it was tender and the fat complemented the meat nicely. However, the beans seemed slightly undercooked. While I did like the 2 smaller plates, I found the fish underwhelming. It was cooked perfectly, but I found it unevenly seasoned, with some bites having very little flavor. Also, the fingerling potatoes seemed to lack any seasoning. Overall, I was very happy with the other 2 plates besides the fish.

I just had a date night at Woodberry tavern and what an experience! I had not been to Woodberry Kitchen in years since they scaled down the restaurant. From the moment we arrived we were being waited on. Isn't that what going out to dinner is supposed to be? Hot mulled wine was a special and we each got a glass. It was delicious and set the tone for the rest of the night. It was snowing outside and we had a great table by these beautiful big windows. We choose the raw oysters as a starter and they were the cleanest oysters I have had in a long time. They had an Asian finish sauce and it really was clean and simple but highlighted the freshness of the oyster. They offered oysters three ways. I want to go back to try them all! The next course we shared was the white sweet potato soup with mushrooms. The flavor was deep and rich but at the same time a light soup that was a great second course and especially since it was snowing outside. For dinner my husband got the tavern burger and said it was juicy. He had to take half home it was so big. I got the rainbow trout and it was the best cooked fish I have had in Baltimore. It was encrusted with herbs and pecans. It's the next day I'm writing this and I can still taste it! Just perfect dish. We both said not one dish could we had could we have gotten anywhere else. That's a date night! Signature cocktails. Signatures dishes. Best date night spot! The scaled down dining room is doing well as they focus on the food and service. The tavern had every table full and not once did I look for a server. It was as if we had our own waiter. And not in a way that was invasive. The quality of service was top notch. I really want to highlight this fact. Well done Woodberry I can't wait to go back.

We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday with a quiet dinner. I made reservations well in advance! Parking is a little tricky. It didn't help it was raining and dark already. It was a little hard to find the entrance of the place, too. Once we got in, it was very cozy and well decorated for Christmas. We were seated right away. The hostess was super nice and quick to bring us water. Our waitress was fine. We ordered drinks (I got the winter swizzle, and my husband got the old fashion). We ordered the fried cornmeal oysters and the scrapple musubi for an appetizer. Then the mushroom pie, the maryland style fried chicken with gravy and the pork & beans for entrees. The drinks did take a while to get. They showed up a little after our appetizers. I wouldn't get the scrapple musubi again. I think I'd much prefer rice than the room temp. grits in a musubi - but that might just be a preference thing. The oysters were fantastic. It was our favorite bite of the night. It came out super hot and fresh. Well seasoned. We wish we had more. The mushroom pie came out pipping hot. Loved the crust. The filling itself lacked flavor. It was just salt. Like another reviewer said, the Oyster pie is probably the way to go. The fried chicken was good, gravy was super salty. I liked the amount of gravy it came with, enough to smother the waffles and dip bites in it as we went along. The pork and beans was okay. The porkbelly was very very hard to cut into. Which we've rarely seen with a pork belly cut. The dish was on the verge of being too sweet. We had also added on a side of fries and that was the best part of the main courses. They're thick cut fries and they come out freshly fried. Wow were they good. I was hesitant on getting dessert because it took so long to get the dessert menu/to have the waitress come back to take our dessert order - but I really wanted to try the baked Alaska. It came out much quicker then anticipated. I love the show they put on with the tableside candle. The food runner was great! He also came with a birthday dessert for my husband, which was super sweet of them. The baked Alaska was delicious - I almost wish we had gotten more desserts! I think I expected to be more wowed by the food after hearing such good things about Woodberry. Service got extremely slow at the end. It took forever to get our check and pay.
Same great food, same great service just a bit of a downgrade on the overall experience.
It is now the Tavern at Woodberry Kitchen (or something like that) with service in the small room before you go in the main space. That main space is now a catering/event space - a wedding reception was going on as we ate at 6pm on a Saturday. That commotion (and sharing the bathrooms with very large groups) was a minus for me, as was not getting to eat in that big room. Made parking trickier, too - there did not seem to be any valet parking. The food was top to bottom great: fried oysters for my wife, a crab cake and salad for me and we split a crab dip/crab pot which was very good. We also had the CMP for dessert which is basically a fancy (and very tasty) hot fudge sundae. As usual, the service was great. We told them it was our anniversary and with dessert they gave us a cookie with "Happy Anniversary" on it. They add 23% as a service fee but also leave a line on the check for a "tip" that would go direct to the server in addition. Maybe I'll have to get used to that but that was the other negative. Same great food, same great service just a bit of a downgrade on the overall experience.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
