For an Alsatian meal!
Modern Winstub but which serves traditional Alsatian cuisine! good goose foie gras and hearty queen bites.. Simple and friendly service..
Be the first to ReplyThe real Alsace to drink and eat
A typical Alsatian restaurant. Warm welcome, pleasant setting with works by the Alsatian painter Ungerer on the walls. Classic Alsatian dishes (unfortunately missing the baekehoffe). A tasty onion tart, “real” queen-style bites, with veal. Hearty dishes. In short, a restaurant to recommend, especially as it is open on Sundays..

Quite simple restaurant but with really good Alsatian cuisine. Very affordable prices. Very careful service. In the middle of the city's golden square.

The food is good but it's frankly much too expensive, a mouth-watering meal from 25th to 27th, it's downright excessive
Be the first to ReplyExcellent winstub, comfortable, quiet and chic
La Vieille Enseigne is a winstub, a real one in terms of its cuisine and its wine list but without the disadvantages of too many establishments of its kind. Here the decor is chic, traditional, airy, we breathe and we have space. The service is exemplary: efficient, charming, delicate and attentive. And above all, the cuisine, under the leadership of Chef Rachel, is remarkable. It's a true winstub menu with homemade dishes (a rarity in the neighborhood) based on beautifully crafted local products. We find all the classics of the genre at their best in more than generous portions. Excellent on the plate, in the setting and the service.

Winstub revisited but why? Correct and copious dishes, bohemian wine list favoring natural wines, courteous service but lacking warmth and to top it off, we wanted two extra potatoes which never arrived. Petty. Damage
Be the first to ReplyWhat pettiness!
We could have reached 4 or even 5 stars, pleasant setting, few dishes on the menu but they are well executed and the portions are generous but the bill called everything into question. We were 3 couples. The bill of 264 euros (for aperitif, main course and 4 coffees) was divided into 3 and the waiter asked us to pay 88.16 euros. One of us gives 88.17. So far so good. Then the waiter comes back and asks us for 1 CENTIMES. Yes, 1 cent was missing. Suffice it to say that this is real pettiness, especially since the potential checkout error of 1 cent during this Christmas market period should go unnoticed. And above all, what a signal sent to customers! The sanction is irrevocable.

Perfect until someone came to ask us for 1 cent, yes 1 cent, from the bill for 6 guests shared and paid in 3. 😵 💫😏😔
Be the first to ReplyNice place, but disappointed by the rest
Beautiful interior decoration, however the service is average, and the price of the dishes is high compared to the quality. This is the first time in a restaurant that I have had to get up from the table to ask for a glass of wine after trying to get the attention of a waiter, and it is unacceptable.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing, local restaurant in the heart of Strasbourg
The food and service was outstanding! I am very picky about my restaurants and scouted this place out over a month before my trip. I was very happy with my decision. The portions are large so be aware before you go and come hungry! The service was amazing and the staff very friendly! I would definitely go back!

Lovely, really good and tasty. Well served, and good price for what it delivers. Would come back once possible! Recommended
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful restaurant & authentic cuisine
We spontaneously came across this beauty of a restaurant on an evening stroll through Strasbourg - lucky for us, one table was still free but I’d suggest making a reservation. First of all, the restaurant itself is absolutely marvelous! The carte features many regional classics like the Choucroute or Bibeleskaes and is neatly arranged - I dislike nothing more than overloaded cartes… I chose the entrée suggestion of Asaparagus in Morelsauce with Puff Pastry, which was nothing short of sensational! My main of Veal Cordon Bleau with sautéed potatoes (which evoked positive childhood memories) was also highly recommendable. The service was very kind and professional, so the overall experience was highly enjoyable - especially with the context of sitting in a lovely alley in sunny Strasbourg!

Sunday night dinner is a ritual for me and this restaurant nailed it. Good menu and selection of specials. Generous with truffle and the onion pie had a real home made touch
