Wicked Tuna @ 2nd Avenue Pier Myrtle Beach Reviews from The Last Year
Don’t waste your time or money
I wish I would have taken these reviews into consideration. Pleas don’t waste your money a time here. I never write reviews, hopefully this will help others avoid the mistake we made. The place was overbooked and extremely understaffed. We placed a reservation for 7:00 a week in advance however, we waited 45 minutes past our reservation time. The bar was backed up on drinks since they only having one bartender for the entire restaurants. We were rushed to order our drinks and food as our waitress informed us everything was behind by 45 minutes. Our drinks came out As our meals were being delivered in plastic cups and very average cocktail drinks. Your Premium price for drinks and cocktails however that’s not what’s being presented to you. The sushi bar was backed up waitress advised us to order quickly or not to order sushi at all. Experience was very ordinary, rushed and overly price for what you received. Recommend you Pick another place to dine. Family of 5 , bill was $400 for a very below average evening out.
Poor service and average food, but loaded with extra fees.
Food was really over-priced and the service was very poor. The server failed to bring melted when asked on three separate occasions and finally another waiter was asked and it was brought to the table immediately. This restaurant has a service charge of 20%, Food/Beer/Wine Tax of 13%, Operations fee of $5.40 and a Liquor Tax of $2.97. All the extra fees and taxes amounted to approximately $100.00 above the bill for average food. I would advise going to another restaurant.
Saw great reviews for Wicked Tuna and had to try it,
Saw great reviews for Wicked Tuna and had to try it, although we got seated right away the service was horrible. We waited 15 minutes to order drinks and then another 10 to get the drink because the bar was "backed up". The surf n turf burger was tasteless, definitely NOT worth the price of the meal. I'd say skip!
food was decent but pricey.
service is horrible and they hardly come around when you're finished. and the music was trash. it's not high end enough to have prices that high. we went and spent over 200$ and its not worth it. they also offer "free" couples pictures but when you get it the shove a 50$ fee for all of them in your face.
We had a 6:30 reservation that we were on time for.
We were told they were slightly behind. At 6:48 we checked in again and were told it was going to be another 10 to 15 minutes. So we went upstairs to check the bar for seats. We found seats so I went to tell the host to remove us from the reservation. She said she had a table available for us and seated us 30 minutes after our reservation. Then no one removed us from the reservation list so we received a text at 7:14 that our table was ready. We told the manager the situation and he proceeded to tell us a child puked downstairs which backed things up. Didn't give much of an apology and just said he had a lot of people complaining. Did nothing to remedy the situation. Terrible service with upstairs and downstairs not talking and probably the worst way a manager could have handled things. Definitely won't be back. But our server was good.
Possibly the best meal we've had down here during the week
Possibly the best meal we've had down here during the week we've been here! We came at an awkward time - around 3pm, so no surprise that we were seated immediately and at a table overlooking the beach no less! My stepdaughter ordered a mocktail and I had the blueberry Basil lemonade. Both were so good, cold, and refreshing! My husband had an Arnold Palmer and it was perfectly balanced. The food was GREAT. The she crab soup was the best I have had of the three times I've had it this week. The roasted beet salad was beautiful and delicious. We also had the tuna tartare appetizer... not your standard tartare flavors, but equally delicious. My husband had a wedge salad and he thought it was very, very good. Server was nice and attentive. If we had more time down here we would absolutely go back for dinner. Well done!
Family of 5 wanting dinner by the water service was not
Family of 5 wanting dinner by the water service was not good and an attitude. We all got $48 & $53 dollar platters food was skimpy for the prices! and to top it off they hit you with Gratuity for having 5 people in our party so a $200 dollar bill turns into $300 after liquor tax and gratuity of $45 automatically added we won't be back!!
We should have left before we ordered.
There was no air conditioning or fans, so it was stuffy, hot and humid. There was live music, which was way too loud. Our server was very polite and opened a window for us, and took good care of us during our visit. The food was good for some of our group and sub par for others. Honestly, there was just too much going on - we were on sensory overload the whole time with the heat, live music, and photographers circling through the restaurant. I wish the owners knew that all they needed was good food, service, and the view. It just seemed like they were trying to throw everything at you, and they missed the mark on it all.
VERY loud live music almost ruined our dinner.
Couldn't hear each other talk at all. No a/c where we were seated. Very hot and stuffy. Food was decent, but not the experience we expected
Great location, but definitely paying for that.
Sushi was decent. Entrees were ok. Service was non-existent. I ate at upstairs bar, and bartenders were definitely more interested in pre-closing work than attending to customers. Much better food and service for better prices elsewhere.
Tried snapper sandwich.
The fish was grilled well but the bun and fries were terrible. A new batch of fries was hardly any better. They're stale and like were refried. Waiter was great, but not even trying in the kitchen. C-

Snapper sandwiches ordered with fries. Grilled fish was good. Bun and fries were awful. We replaced the fries because seemed refried and stale. The new ones were barely any better. They are not trying very hard here.
This has been our go yo place for years, close to our condo.
Yesterday was such a disappointment. The best bartender (Anika) and manger David are gone. They really had turned that place around. The new help has a LONG way TO GO. Attitude and no urgency are unattractive. We did speak to the new Manger who was receptive. We're hoping some bar training and customer service turns this negative around. The sushi is great!
Overpriced Mediocracy
My husband and I enjoyed the beautiful ocean and beach view at this location, so were very disappointed by the mediocre food and mediocre service. I had the overpriced overcooked grouper. My husband had an ordinary overpriced chicken sandwich that he enjoyed. The canned beer was good and cold! Strangely, they were out of draft beer on this Memorial Day weekend, so apparently have poor management as well. The talented one-man entertainment was very enjoyable. I would not waste my money here again.
INCREDIBLE.
Food , service, ambience. One of the best restaurants in Myrtle Beach in my opinion. Will definitely be back next time we're in the city.
Food was good but overpriced for the ambiance.
$48 entrees, no table cloths or cloth napkins. Whoever designed the place should find a different career. Have to put your head on the table to see out the windows!
Very nice views of the beach and ocean.
The meal was very expensive, particularly considering that the food was not very good. It was a Tuesday night and they were not very busy, but the service was not great. We ordered an appetizer to share and we did not get a spoon to serve it. We asked for a spoon and it took at least 10 minutes to get it while our food became cold. All four of us were very disappointed. Not sure how this has a #1 rating on Trip Advisor. Mediocre.

The Wicked Tuna might well had been in Kansas.
First night in Myrtle Beach on a cloudy evening at sunset, we thought we would have a light dinner on Wicked Tuna's rooftop and enjoy the meal and the view dining on the rooftop. Alas, there is no outdoor dining! The windows were covered in sea salt to further impair the view and as night fell the windows were totally opaque. The hostess sat us at a nice table for two next to a large party. The noise was unbearable almost everywhere, literally painful. As the hostess had rapidly moved on we got up walked to the opposite side of the restaurant next to a server's prep area and found the ambient noise level tolerable. We enjoyed our $13 cocktails. My fish and chips were acceptable costing$33. The she-crab soup was hot which surprised me as there was considerable delay in food arrival after placing the order. The soup was about $13. My spouse had the marmalade with added chicken and found it to be OK ~3.5 on a 5 scale. Our server was lovely and attentive. She had just graduated college majoring in business and is hoping to find a career using LinkedIn. The city walk from the restaurant and pier adjacent to the beach to our hotel was super. Beautifully landscaped and well lit. Although our experience at the Wicked Tuna was acceptable, if I had known that there were no outside dining, we probably would have looked elsewhere.
Delicious lunch with a great view of the ocean and pier.
I had the grilled grouper sandwich. Kids had salads, burgers and chicken sandwich. One of our best meals while we were at Myrtle Beach
Food Good. But location old and dingy
We’ve been to Murrells Inlet location a lot. The food is always excellent although somewhat pricey as are the cocktails. But the view is always great and the wait staff are pleasant if poorly trained. We ventured to this location since it was near some places we had gone. Food and cocktail were excellent. Although pricey. But everything else was kind of disappointing. The outside of the restaurant dirty. The stairs up are dirty. The dining room is dirty. There is a photographer taking pictures for a price. The biggest disappointment was our server. He was pleasant and knowledgeable. But. We sat at 11:45. His shirt was filthy. His apron was even worse. Was Last week? Last night? And can someone at BOTH locations instruct the wait staff not to grab glasses by the rim and then put down in front of a guest? And could they clean their hands occasionally?
Returned to one of my favorite places on the beach after
Returned to one of my favorite places on the beach after 3yrs. Still as amazing as I remember. Food was great, service was good , the view is what is amazing. I got the Shrimp Po Boy this time. Shrimp was cooked to perfection, good amount of Shrimp in the sandwich along with the sauce and all the fixings the sandwich was perfection. This will always be my go to place on the beach. Give it a try, won't be disappointed.
Very disappointing! Catch of the day for $48 very skimpy.
Manager was not willing to make the situation any better. Lilly the server was nice, but not authorized to resolve the situation. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place.
Disappointed!
Very disappointing! The $48 catch of the day was so skimpy, fish and a few veggies. Talked with the manager and he did absolutely nothing regarding good customer service and trying to make the experience a bit less unpleasant. He wouldn’t throw in bread or anything unless it was for a price., but he was willing to take the plate away and throw it in the garbage and let me order something else. He was the worst manager ever. Also my purse ended up on the very dirty floor as the rounded chair backs would not hold it and there were no hooks. Very pricey for what you get and manager could care less on whether a customer is unhappy. Giving 1 star only because our server, Lilly was nice even though she had no authority to do anything about the situation. Will NEVER return.
WOW!!
Food was mediocre, service was adequate. One person had a glass of wine, the rest had water. We all were subject to alcohol tax, shame on Myrtle beach!! THEN each check that was paid with a debit card had a fee of 20% of the total food charge added to the bill. Most southern folks are not accustomed to that!. Needless to say we won't be back.
Our server Ray was the best server I've ever had.
He was efficient, helpful and super friendly. He handled our party of 14 like it was a table of two! Do not lose Ray! It will impact your bottom line. He was as amazing as the food!
Lobster tail Trio is a bomb! Very delicious and flavourful!
Lobster tail Trio is a bomb! Very delicious and flavourful! Risotto that comes with Lobster tail Trio had a unique flavour, I think it had Saffron. Wicked Tuna Roll was so fresh and delirious. We really enjoyed our awesome lunch and beautiful view here.

so it all started with not being able to order a beer at the bar. isn't that the point? service was god awful I didn't have a sip of beer for atleast an hour from when I stepped foot in there. Saw a cockroach, thats always pleasant. anyways food was pretty good but the auto 20% tip should be banned from this whole town.
service was amazing! the food was good, and the waitress

Plates look amazing The top view is very beautiful Bartenders are very nice I HAVEN'T HAD FRIED PICKLES IN SO LONG! Live music Fried pickles are good Cherry Blossom sushi is very good Old fashion drink had a cherry
Our server Vaera was top notch! This food was wonderful.
Everyone in our group loved their meals. From chicken Marsala to grilled seafood platter and on to shrimp and grits. We will come back!
First things first, we start by heading to the 3rd floor
First things first, we start by heading to the 3rd floor via the elevator. Yes, they have stairs, but we skipped it. We made it to the host station, and we were promptly seated. I have to admit, though, I was a little disappointed we didn't get the table in front of the restaurant. Instead, we sat in the back corner. The view was only at an angle, so we didn't get the effect of eating on the pier. But, let's talk about the food! We ordered the Oyster Rockefellers, and they were great. Nothing over the top, but they were made they way they were supposed to be. (Sorry, we grabbed them ate them before I grabbed a photo.) We ordered the pork gyoza, and it was cooked great, and they were delicious. We ordered the sushi. I have labeled the ones we ate in the photo. The one with all the orange crab meat on top is: you guessed it: Fat Crab. It was good, but we had to ask for the low sodium first. Otherwise, I think sushi is typically to salty with all the fish. The California Roll was normal, but the Philadelphia roll had way too much cream cheese. It made the whole roll almost a yuck... but we were starving, so we still chomped through gloops of cream cheese. Yes, you can have too much and meh. This was it. I asked if they sold fried rice. I did not see it on the menu. Yall. They said yes, they sell fried rice. The bowl in the back of the sushi picture is their fried rice, and the other photo is their version on fried rice on my plate. It's not fried rice. Fried rice is offended, you'd called that bowl of rice "fried rice!" I'll tell you what it appeared to be: white rice with soy sauce and cooked spinach. Again, we were hungry, but I would have rather skipped this dish all together or sent it back, but... we just gave up. I sincerely wished we had NOT ordered it, but whatever. The server looked to be trying, but idk it seemed like an off night. Sushi wasn't bad per sec, but for what it's worth, I may just skip the food and go to the 2nd floor and just walk the pier. We did order a bottle of wine and it was alright. Reasonable for the beach prices.
We'd definitely return - the menu is fantastic!
Thankfully, we had reservations. When we arrived there was a longish line of people waiting for a table and the hostess seemed extremely disorganized. We were seated almost immediately but the folks in line seemed annoyed with the process. I'd recommend a different process flowing folks with reservations or those without. Our server took quite some time to acknowledge us after being seated but once she did, service was good. Our food came quite quickly and was great! The view is a bonus.
Never coming back
Monday the 25th my family and I were sitting at the bar enjoying ourselves. My family came to visit from NY. We had a few drinks and the bartender was very nice. Til the shift change. The blonde so called bar manager was a rude young lady that was trying to pull her weight. How dare her yell at us and telling us to get out. Why cause we were a bit loud. Yes my husband is hard of hearing but that's not the point.. she was rude and the manger was no help. But that's okay we will never return with any family or friends ever.. and plus the food is way over priced.
Food and service was great! I would definitely visit again
Food and service was great! I would definitely visit again when in the area. We were immediately seated without reservations
over priced.
staff about as limp as overcooked pasta. happy hour only if you sit at the bar facing a mirror rather than a table overlooking the ocean. Have lived here 15 years and can remember previous owner. Wicked Tuna totally ruined the place
Beach side location
A beach side restaurant with a good view. The prices are a touch high, but the food is good. Service by Constance was very good. We particularly enjoyed the oysters Rockefeller. During high season we suspect reservations are essential.
The place was decorated for the beach, kind of snazzy but
The place was decorated for the beach, kind of snazzy but calming. They opened the windows around us, which was super nice. We had the Bang Bang Grouper, and it was beyond exceptional! Served hot and not overcooked, would 1000% have this again. The sushi was highly recommended, and it did NOT disappoint. The stuffed shrimp on the risotto was magnificent. Salted perfectly and creamy risotto was a perfect suggestion.
Probably a great choice for those who love sushi.
I don't. I really can't say anything bad about it except I don't like it. I found it to be boring and we were there during happy hour. Plus there was a certain smell that I found to be off putting. But try it yourself and see what you think.
Stopped in for happy hour on a Sunday.
Happy hour is 4-7 daily in the rear deck bar. Small food menu and drinks are $ off. We tasted the tempura cauliflower, lettuce wraps, oyster Rockefeller and 2 sushi rolls. The food were decent portions and average flavors. Nice to look out over marsh and boat channels. There are deck heater to take chill out of air. Staff was friendly.
3 stars for the location and service.
Minus 1-star for quality and cost of food. Minus 1-star for the entrance through the pier shop as the restrooms are at the door
The Dragon Egg
This place is kinda pricey, but it's on the water with great ocean views. The dragon egg is outta this world! I would go back just for that alone.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!
Worked flawlessly!
Worked so well! I was a bit nervous, but everything went very smoothly. purchased the reservation, and got into the restaurant seamlessly.
Love this app!
So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
