Great place to watch the game.
Really enjoyed watching the football playoff game. Great ambiance. Great service. Very attentive and the food was solid. Best sports bar we have experienced in NOLA. Would definitely go back.
Be the first to ReplyNice choice for lunch near the Superdome
Stopped n for lunch. Hubby had the fired shrimp poboy that came with waffle fries. I had the boom boom shrimp tacos. They came with chips and queso. We also ordered the fried dill pickle appetizer. The portions were plentiful! Everything tasted fresh and delicious. We would recommend stopping at this sports themed restaurant to eat.

Stopped off during our visit to New Orleans, been on holiday in America for a month and this place is hands down the cheeseburger I have had ever !! Itโs worth a visit for the burger let alone the gumbo , 5 star and highly recommend
Be the first to ReplyA great, quick spot
When you first arrive in New Orleans and you don't know the lay of the land yet, this was an easy spot to find and very good food. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that it didn't feel New Orleans enough.
Be the first to ReplyGood sports/bar restaurant
This is a nice casual sports/bar restaurant. The food is decent and there are lot of items to choose from. We had the Black Jack Chicken and the Bayou Pasta. However, the service staff needs retraining. They are not responsive enough. We ate there before a concert at the Smoothie King Center and we were anxious to get our food delivered to us quickly. It was very busy that night and it seemed that they were short staffed. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express nearby and it was within walking distance.
Be the first to ReplyGood food and plenty of sports!
I was in town on business and just wanted a sport bar to grab a bite and see what sports were on. A bit of a walk from my hotel, but this place hit the spot. Plenty of TVs, good service and my meal was good. I added some gumbo to my meal and enjoyed that too. Happy I found this place!

If Walk Ons was a football play it would be a fumble. The food was so boring and unseasoned The Crescent City is crying. Sad when you can get a better blackened chicken Alfredo at Red Lobster. Iโve had average chips and queso but never bad ones until tonight. You have to work pretty hard to ruin queso. It was orange paste. Donโt buy the hype in other posts. Donโt waste a meal in New Orleans here.
Be the first to ReplyWas hoping for a sports bar vibe for play off Saturday football
I debated if my expectations are the reason for a 3 star review and if it should have been 4 star. The truth is I was hoping far more to have a bar with some raucous fans cheering the game on and getting a bit of the sporting vibe. This is a restaurant first and foremost that says liquor (alcohol for us brits). It has several positives, the number of TVโs are spot on and you cannot avoid seeing the game, the draft beer choice is also excellent, we went for Stella as I am not really keen on American lager. The food was ok, we had the boudin balls to start with and they were the best dish of the evening, a really great sauce and the balls are similar to Arancini without the breadcrumbs. A crust outside soft centre of moorish goodness. My wife went for the cheese burger, the bun was to thick for our preference and the burger was nothing special and a little dry. I went for the catfish. The fish itself was nice enough, the two dipping sauces though were not great and felt the hush puppies were not required and did not bring anything to this dish. All in all, I was able to watch the game, get good beer and food that was ok to good, but I did not get that all American experience that I was hoping for,
Be the first to ReplyGreat experience
Walk-On's is just down the street from our hotel, and we were pleased to have found it. Nice atmosphere, friendly service, great drinks. Food was OK; neither of us would order the same thing if we returned. My pasta/andouille dish was very salty and I almost returned it, but big glasses of water and two red sangrias helped with the salt. My cookie sundae was tasty, but the cookie was underbaked and soggy. Hubby loved his red beans and rice, and bread pudding.

Great food in walking distance from our hotel! Sports bar type setting with a nice variety of options on the menu. We ordered several appetizers and meals, all were delicious and the service was great as well!
Be the first to ReplyJust ok.
Friday night at 8pm you would think the service snd good would have been better. We have this sane restaurant in our hometown and weโre looking forward to eating some of our favorites. Food was just ok snd service was ok. Nothing to brag on.
Be the first to ReplyRip off on check, rude wait staff, wouldn't return or recommend
We started the evening with a really snotty waitress. Our party of 4 was seated in a booth near the bar. 3 of the 4 TVs were on a college game and no one was seated watching them (2 empty booths and 2 empty 2 tops). We asked if we could make sure one of the 3 was turned to the NATIONAL League Baseball semi final game. She literally copped an attitude, said TVs were reserved. Like WTF not what the hostess table said. When we said reserved by who, pointing to the empty area she had to go "check with the Manager." In the meantime, we went to the hostess stand and they said "no problem." Things got better with this little snot. We went to order drinks and she says "We aren't doing mint " So to everyone reading this, what does that mean? We thought the restaurant didn't have mint right? Just a weird comment. So we said we can't get like 5 of the speciality drinks on their list of about a dozen. She then states she has an allergy and can't serve them. So, next question we have is can we get them at the bar? She literally gets lit up with us that they can't be at her table even. Okay, so we ask if there's going to be food she's going to tell us we can't order as well. And she is literally pissed that we're asking pretty reasonable questions and says, no it's "just mint." So we then ask if we can get another server then. Had to literally move booths. Now, I've got no problem protecting anyone with a severe allergy but the way she led off, no politeness and no appreciation that we aren't there to accommodate her. Just ridiculous. We move to another booth and get another server. We order apps and she delivers 4 dirty plates. Like literally I lift one up and there is food. She apologized and brings us 4 more. Again, dirty with food particles that you can see. We opted to just eat the apps from the serving dishes with napkins in front of us. We order drinks including 2 mint juleps. She asks if we want those to be doubles. We say no. At the end of the night we are charged for 2 doubles. When we point that out on the bill, she says that is how the bartender makes them. So wait, you didn't point that out and just expect us to pay? We should have been informed and could have split one. Like unbelievable that they just charge you for drinks and don't explain (and with all the ice in the glass no you couldn't tell it was a double nor is it the customers responsibility to double check everything because the staff are not doing a good job). We took $15 out of her tip because she didn't offer to fix it in any way. Just walked away. Unbelievable. This place is a rip off. Average pub food. Would never go again.

Be the first to ReplyFranchise Sports Bar with Local Fare
I came recently to NOLA for a conference and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, which is about a 5-minute walk from Walk-Ons. I was traveling alone, so was perfectly fine with a place where I could sit at the bar. I enjoyed my first night there, so I repeated for the next three nights (three dinners, and one just dessert as I had already eaten). Walk-ons is a nicey designed sports bar with the obligatory TVs just about everywhere showing what TVs in sports bars show. They have a large selection of beers on tap, and they come out frosty and delicious. According to the menu, Walk-ons is a franchise, though I wouldn't have known it. There were plenty of local favorites good enough to fool this out-of-towner (try the gumbo). The one night I came for dessert I got the cookie sundae, which came out hot and gooey and fantastic. The service was great. I hope to repeat the next time I'm back in NOLA.
Be the first to ReplyGreat โsportโ dinner!
A nice sport bar where you can eat nice local dishes like spinach and artichoke dip, a very tasty ahi tuna salad. I got Voodoo shrimps and grits: big shrimp rolled with bacon. They do have a very good list of local and non beers. Fast and professional service!
Be the first to ReplySalad at a Sports Bar
I arrived in at my hotel in the early evening on a Sunday. It was around 8 PM by the time I was ready to look for dinner. To my surprise, most of the restaurants had 9 PM closing times. Walk-On's was close to my hotel and said it was open later, so I reluctantly went in resigned to pub food. To my relief they had a good selection of salads. I chose the chicken berry pecan salad. It was a large mound of mixed greens and lots of fruit and chicken. The raspberry vinaigrette was not too sweet and in just the right amount. Although I was very hungry, I left a third of it uneaten. I was stuffed! The staff were pleasant and attentive. I was seated promptly on arrival and my server checked on me frequently. Highly recommended.

Just got into town and choose WALK ON'S for our first meal. Started with the Bang Bang Shrimp, then had the Ribeye PoBoy. What a Sandwich!!! Skye was a great waitress... Very friendly and interactive. The tea was freshly brewed and the beer was cold.

Went to Walkon after the first Final Four games. Walked into the bar area and got a table and drinks. Waited more than 1/2 hour and no one offered us a menu or said boo to us. Then the (rude) wait staff walked in with a couple and told us to love so they could sit the couple. They said the table was only to be seated by the entrance person staff - but the table wasnโt marked and we sat there and no one said a word to us or tried to help us for 1/2 hour. Will not go again even though bartender was great and drinks were reasonable. Never had this happen in my life (and I am a senior). Horrible โcustomer serviceโ.
Be the first to ReplyThere are better Walk-Ons
This location is a gem. Shame on New Orleans to have to bear it. It seems everything is premade and tossed on a plate mindlessly. They missed two of my sides even though I tipped on a pickup order. Other than that, it was cold and soggy aside from the day-old bread.
I wish I could say something better as the other location where I live is 1000% better. Crispy hot and fresh was everything there
First time to New Orleans
Waitress Maddie was fantastic. Atmosphere was typical sports bar. Food was great with alot of choices on menu. And last manager Darrell went above and beyond with customer service. Had a wrong sandwich no hesitation in removing from bill. Would most definitely recommend.
Perfect spot for National Champ game!
Wow! Our waiter was a top-notch little guy, bald head, white. He was super. The place was packed, food was excellent. I had the Boom Boom Shrimp po'boy and fries, she had the Turkey Sandwich with grilled onion and a Brioche bun w fries. EXCELLENT! They had a wide variety of beer on tap and I choose Stella! Our check was 100 bucks+ and we weren't displeased at all. Our only issue (which we didn't bring up, we just paid) was that they ran out of 22 ounce mugs. And my waiter upgraded me to a larger plastic cup (it was my 4th)(perhaps 32 oz) and he also up-charged the price from 9.50 for a 22ox, to 16.50 for the 32, when I only really wanted the 22. I should not have been charged, even if you upgraded me, unless I was asked first. I wasn't.
It's a minor issue, but none the less irked us. We still tipped, but not as well as we would have.
Great Food and Service
The people were friendly and the service was great. We both had burgers and fries and were quite impressed with the quality of the burgers (cooked perfectly) and the waffle fries. The prices were quite reasonable as well. We will be back!

Table of 4, we were disappointed. Quick seating good, after that lack of attention by the entire wait staff. We saw at least five waitresses, it was late restaurant not busy. Had to find host for waitress. Ordered appetizer (Hush puppies), horrible, over cooked in old cooking oil. drinks were not served together 1 person waited additional 5 minutes. Meal was not served together. one person an additional 5 minute wait. All meals average. 1st night of a week stay in New Orleans (disappointed). Normally we take pictures of our meal to share the experience with others. Not worth time or picture. Most places when parts of meal is sent back, you get the attention of the MOD, not here.
