A taste of Europe in Claremont??? Yes...
Absolutely fantastic. Yes, the service is slow (even to get a table). But that's part of the European experience and it usually signals a restaurant that takes its time, focuses on the experience and truly makes your food to order. And boy does it show. The food was absolutely jaw dropping - nothing short of some of the best Italian food I've had in the States. The ambience is charming and beautiful. The staff from the host to the servers were delightful, sweet and very knowledgable. We ate all three pastas (spectacular), best Cesar we've ever had, incredible Sicilian wine and so much more. We left so happy. It felt like we were back in Europe. This is easily the best restaurant in the area. It's a dream.

If you find yourself in Claremont, this is a terrific dinner spot. I have been here twice and will be happy to go again. The food is delicious, the restaurant is lovely, and the waitstaff is friendly and attentive. Try the house made pastas!

Had an amazing meal. The flavors were exquisitely delicate. Plates were creative and delicious. Ambience was cozy and warm. And the service impeccable. Will make it a regular stop in our visits to Claremont.

appetizer was missing a crucial ingredient (breakfast radishes) the server or hostess did not light our table candle until we finally had to ask them
Be the first to ReplySuper fresh food with great service.
The food was excellent- fresh, flavor-rich without being heavy, and well presented. The polenta app has a delightful zip to it. While the food was great (a definite return visit), it was the waitstaff that made the night. Our server Martin was engaging and knowledgeable. He also conveyed a passion for the food and his job, was very attentive, and read the vibe of our group perfectly. He also made an outstanding wine recommendation for the adults at the table. Overall, UTO nailed it. This is why I dine out.
Be the first to ReplyCharming Little Restaurant
Nothing simple about this little corner of Claremont. Innovative menu choices, great cocktail choices and wonderful service. Very special restaurant. I would suggest reservations as the inside is so small but don't let that detour your from going.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic date night out in Claremont!
Uno Tre Otto is one of the best kept secrets in downtown Claremont, California! It’s quaint in size, but has bold, delicious flavors in every bite. They recommend eating four courses, each course choosing from four to six options that change daily depending on the Chef’s choice of veggies from a nearby, local farm. My husband and I shared an appetizer called Fettunta = caprese decorated grilled bread - DELICIOUS! Then we split Campanelle= pasta with homemade pesto and burrata on top - DELICIOUS! Then we each had our own entrees - I had scallops and my husband chose the duck. Both were fantastic, but I have to say the scallops were my favorite! We also shared a yummy, fruity cocktail that I can’t remember the name of, but it had wild strawberries, sour cherry, and a plum flavor to it that was a summer speciality cocktail. It’s made in their upstairs bar and then a dumbwaiter brings it downstairs for you. Really cool atmosphere inside, amazing, fast service and excellent food. Will definitely be returning!
Be the first to ReplyClaremont’s best kept secret
The smallest restaurant which is HUGE in flavors and service.
It takes some doing to find it, even with GPS guidance. Hidden but not inaccessible. Better parking options than moat of Claremont restaurants.
RSVP well in advance and surrender to the very well thought out locally procured specialties that will not disappoint
Very good wine list and not out of order pricing for their delectable menu items.
Loved it!
Best Kept Secret in Clairmont, CA
Small organic Italian restaurant. Fantastic food, great service. We had Fettunta to start and Pappardelle, Rigatoni and Pork Osso Bucco. All the dishes were well presented and delicious. This is a place I would recommend any day. Be sure to make reservations, the place is small.
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointing since this used to be a favorite restaurant
We had always loved this restaurant up until last night. We don’t know if there has been a change in ownership or not. We made reservations online for a table. When we got to the restaurant, we found the table was outside which was not a welcome revelation. It is very charming inside; outside was very cool and isolated. We didn’t get an amuse bouche which we had always been served before. The bread and butter were no longer given to you but were now an item on the antipasti menu. The portions were smaller and less finely prepared. The rigatoni was heavy. We ordered cioppino for $25 which consisted of 3 small shrimp, 6 small clams and 6 thumbnail size flakes of salmon. Very meager portions at premium prices and not as fresh and flavorful as it used to be. Its very sad to see the unfortunate changes.
Be the first to ReplyGood...
My daughter has dined at Uno, Tre, Otto on several occasion...last week was my first experience.
First of all, the atmosphere is so welcoming. The servers attentive and friendly...and the bartender is friendly and so knowledgeable.
The fried Bocconcini served with a lovely marinara were wonderful. Tried the polenta...creamy, served with some toasted crusty Italian bread(yummy) but discovered after a few bites a hint of blue cheese(or Gorgonzola)...I didn’t notice it listed on the menu...could have missed it...but, not being a blue cheese fan, could not go further.
The pasta dishes we ordered were good. The pasta fresh. My daughters Musharraf up was tasty...liked her choice more than mine. I chose the cod and prawns with buccatini pasta...and lemon grass white wine sauce....the cod and prawns were wonderful, the buccatini cooked perfectly but the lemon grass threw me...
The bottom line...if you have a more traditional palate this restaurant may not be for you. If you are more adventurous with new flavors, then give it a try.
Oh...the Montepulciano wine was amazing!
Note: the menu changes often based on availability of produce, etc. ...
Will I go again? Perhaps.
Spectacular all around.
Went here with another couple to enjoy a night out. We ended up closing the place down. The food was fantastic, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere is very inviting. I would not think family or kids for this restaurant - a bit more romantic/adult. Have recommended this to several other people since then. Can't wait to go back.
Be the first to ReplyYou need a reservation to eat here
We were walking around the village and decided to eat here but found out that we can't be there without any reservation. The interesting part is there were a lot of empty tables and not too many people in the restaurant. Staff were not that friendly

Wonderful intimate rustic restaurant in the heart of Claremont. The menu changes daily as everything they use comes from Amy's farm.
Small portions of exquisite flavor.
Kitchen is open to the small dining room with a handful of tables.
Interesting cocktails were made from farm fresh ingredients as well.
