After reading good reviews we decided to try it.
Walked into pick up my order, and there was another customer waiting already with no mask on.He was talking (shouting) to a guy making pizza about whatever. (Obviously friends) I waited for a couple of minutes while being ignored by the 3 wandering staff members, while the unmasked conversation continued. Was helped eventually and got my 2 personal pizzas ($19.95 ea) and left. The crust was excellent on the margarita pies we ordered. Having said that, the tomato sauce tasted like plain crushed tomatoes, and the Mozzarella was good, but not very plentiful. Basil was cooked on pizza, should be put on after as the flavor is much better raw. All in all, a mediocre experience. Very disappointed when shops choose to ignore mask policy as it's not my job to enforce a safe environment in your establishment. Go to Tino's in Ocean Grove for better pizza, and a better price.

Sadly they have closed, but their pies were terrific! He's reopening in Manhattan. When you taste the dough, and it's great, you can have a great pie!
Be the first to ReplyHeard about this place and figured I give it a try.
Walking in to the pizzeria, It wasn't apparent to me what to do. I walked up to the pizza counter by the oven and the owner, Anthony, told me to go to the bar to place my order. I went to the bar and sat down. No one helped me. There was a bearded gentleman on the phone who ignored us. He did not seem too swift. I later found out he is supposedly Anthony's business partner. We did finally ask him for a menu and placed our order for a Margarita Pie and a Lupini Bean appetizer. After a 40 minute wait, they called our name and we were handed a pizza box with a our pie.The pizza ingredients seem to be of high quality but the pie was doughy and probably needed to be cooked more!By the time we are and left, the wait for pizza was up to an hour! The girl working the bar was the only one who was helpful.I think Anthony better get his act together before he looses the top ratings he already received.Seems he needs more and better help and probably a second pizza oven! The Lupini and Fennel salad was excellent.

If you're expecting your run of the mill $2.00 a slice pizzeria this ain't it. Briefly spoke with the owner and he welcomed all conversations with the customers even though he's busy making pizzas. The burrata special today was off the hook!

This place has been ranked as top 5 pizza restaurants is the United States and it clear why...fantastic service, delicious pizza from hand made dough and quality ingredients/toppings. Worth the trip if you're not local.

My aunt and uncle were in town and got to show them the best new pizzeria. We got two margheritas, one margherita with pepperoni, and one special pie that was marinara with a dollop of burrata in the middle. We also had their pilsner Frusta which pairs perfectly. It makes such a difference having the pies fresh out of the oven after just the 90 second cooking process. The freshest, most authentic ingredients. Never disappoints. We finished with cannoli's and a shot of limoncello. Perfect way to end off the perfect pies.If you're anywhere near the area, this is a must go to. Be warned - only open Friday to Sunday 2-7 or when he runs out of dough. Run, don't walk here.

Another great takeout visit, although I have to say I'm very excited to eat this ultra-fresh again soon. This time, we got three margheritas (one as is, one with pepperoni, and one with Calabrian peppers), one filleti, and one special (a tomato pie with crushed red pepper and burrata). We also got cannolis. The Calabrian peppers were really amazing and we'll definitely be ordering more of these in our future. I also really liked the cannolis, although I'd still love to try their ice cream.
Be the first to ReplyThe best pizza we've had in a really long time.
Authentic Neapolitan pizza. The pizzas are bigger than expected for a Neapolitan pie and as expected the bottom crust was thin, but the edge crust was even better than expected with a delightfully soft and pillowy crust with a wood fired taste. We had meant to make it last summer after they first opened and now really wish we hadn't waited so long!

Anthony is a pizza savant. The crust is the best I've ever had. Una is a national treasure

After watching Stanley Tucci "discover" pizza in southern Italy, I definitely want to go back to Una Pizza Neapolitano. I admit, I'm a "Jersey pizza's just fine. Who needs this?" kinda gal. (Which is not at all to say my bar is low.) So, I want to make an apology here and try again, Mr. Mangieri. It's not that my order wasn't good-- Thanks to Tucci's refined tour, I now want to marvel at your mozzarella and marzano tomatoes and inhale your dough. "Don't throw your pearls before swine," does not apply to you. I now appreciate the guts it takes to serve your "better ingredients" to my crowd. This swine got some class and is gonna try again, with gusto.

If you are looking for authentic pizza this is the place to go, they know what they're doing. Cannolis are exceptional as well. Can't recommend it enough!
