Uchiba Dallas Reviews
Fabulous!!! We were sat a little late for our reservation
Fabulous!!! We were sat a little late for our reservation but they accommodated us with free apps and drinks... very nice service and staff. The food was incredible. Everything we had was 10/10. Definitely the BEST sushi in Dallas.

Uchi is my favorite restaurant in Dallas, and there is no better place than Uchiba to scratch my itch when I'm wanting a more casual quick dinner. I am embarrassed to say that I have no pictures to share.. but this was the best happy hour I have ever been to. Uchibā has become an absolutely favorite place that I will be sure to share with every person I meet. The happy hour omakase for two special is the best value I've ever seen not to mention the delicious $10 drinks. Couldn't help but order some extra sashimi and nigiri that were all top tier (how could it not be, it's Uchi). Of course service was extremely attentive, personalized, and inviting. Can't wait to be back

Ok this place totally lives up to the hype! The place has a vibe! Towny and upscale but also warm and friendly! The menu is elaborate sushi but what I really appreciated is the vegetarian menu! I am so impressed by the veg sushi, as I this was my first time! Will go again and again!
I'm still dreaming of the pho dumplings.
..the broth was so incredibly tasty and aromatic. Everything was delicious. Obviously the sushi is top quality, and the atmosphere is super date night worthy.
Stopped in for dinner on a business trip.
I was seated at their wine bar. The staff was attentive and friendly. Food came out a little slowly and I think might have been delivered to other diners as the wine bar and the sushi bar apparently have the same table numbers. Everything did arrive eventually and was super tasty! The couple next to me got the main tasting menu and it was $320 that night. I got a couple rolls and a warm snow crab bite. Overall very good!

This was my first time at Uchibā in Dallas, and it completely lived up to the hype. The food was creative, flavorful, and beautifully presented, making it such a fun dining experience. What really stood out, though, was our server Joey. For a first-time guest, his knowledge and expertise were invaluable--he walked us through the menu, made thoughtful recommendations, and gave great insight into pairings. Joey made the whole evening feel effortless and welcoming. I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to Uchibā, and I'll definitely be back!
KJ was fantastic! The food and drinks took a very long time
KJ was fantastic! The food and drinks took a very long time to come out, which was the downside of the meal. All the food was amazing but portions are a bit small. The sushi was delicious - highlights being sake toro and hamachi. Duck bao and chicken katsu bao were great!

Ask to have KJ as your server, he is fucking awesome!!! & this place is yummy! We had almost everything on the menu... cheesecake was the perfect desert!
Love coming to Uchiba when I'm in Dallas.
Great happy hour spot with lots of affordable yakitori items and sushi. To be honest I'm mainly here for the drinks lol. $10 for the heavy in a barrel aged whiskey? hell yeah! Love the rooftop level because it's upscale yet a nice casual after work place. The meat skewers are $5-8! We got the pork belly, Tsukune, and wagyu. all really delicious but we had to order extra Tsukune because it was really good. We also tried the mini burger and katsu bun. the katsu bun has a really nice pickled cabbage flavor that complimented the fried katsu. The sake handroll was good too but nothing outstanding. The plantain chips are simple but soooo yum with a kick of spice. I thought the pork dumpling skins were too thick but the flavor was good. For dessert we got the fried milk (I can eat 3 plates of this!) and ube tarte. Our server was very attentive and gave us a $25 discount for a return visit.
This place is easily become one of my favorites.
Came for a pretty late dinner, but the place was still super packed! Our waitress was super helpful and friendly and offered great recommendations for our first visit. Started off with a lychee martini and then tried the subarashi. Both were great and very well balanced. We ended up ordering a bunch of nigiri and hot items but the highlights for me were the yellowtail, gyutoro dumplings, and wagyu beef skewers. The portions were OK but I can see if you're super hungry having to order a bunch. Will definitely be back soon.
Uchi no longer lives up to its reputation.
This review is about their Uchi restaurant, not the bar. The dining space felt cramped and low-ceilinged, more like a packed, boozy high school prom than a refined dining experience. It was extremely loud on a Saturday night. The service could have been much better: the sushi chef handed us dishes without so much as a greeting or check-in, and the server came off as passive-aggressive. As for the food, it was decent but not worth the price. Uchi feels like it’s past its prime. There are plenty of other sushi restaurants offering better quality sushi and a pleasant experience.
Food Poisioning.
Fantastic chain-- unfortunately became ill after eating week+-old fish. Sourcing can 100% be better. No reason I should be eating fish arriving from another country on Thursday on Sunday evening. Uchi chain-- do better.
Amazing - nothing like it
In Dallas for a wedding, the night before we found the most magnificent restaurant that served sushi and other Japanese cuisine. The service with David and our sushi chef Daniel was over the top. We enjoyed the following: 1) Hot Cauliflower bun 2) crispy tofu 3) Kinoko Dumplings 4) east coast oyster 5) Fried Green tomatoes courtesy of Daniel 6) Sake krudo 7) Hama Chili 8) Spicy Crunchy Maki 9) 5 different nigiri 10) for desert- the fried milk. Additional pictures are the workings in the kitchen and our picture with David and Daniel. What a fun evening.
Hip but Overpriced
The 10-course meal was delicious but for the price, the value was so-so. If you want to spend $400+ for a couples dinner which included on 3 alcoholic beverages, this is the place to go. Ask pricing if not sure on the multi-course Chef's choice. Again, it was very good but we can find a more romantic and cozy experience for the money. Seating at the tables in the middle of the room seemed tight. Overall this was a "hip" spot for casually dressed uptown crowd.
I celebrated my birthday here after a quick visit to Dallas
I celebrated my birthday here after a quick visit to Dallas for the eclipse. The service was wonderful and the food was amazing. We started off with a few items off the happy hour menu and then finished off with a couple of dishes from the main menu. The stars were definitely the scallop, the pork jowl, and the hama chili. The desserts were also lovely. We had the cheesecake and the trio of sorbets. Everything was absolutely delicious. Will definitely come back the next time I'm in town!
Amazing time here !!! Highly recommend the tofu sushi
Amazing time here !!! Highly recommend the tofu sushi (everyone agreed it was the best sushi ) and the hot rock Super nice atmosphere And service

Well documented sushi transplant from Austin, they never miss here. Uchiba, the upstairs lounge, delivers the same quality food and service as their more serious counterpart downstairs. Absolutely get the fried milk dessert, and the madai crudo with pear, such unique and delicious dishes.

Bao buns, salmon belly, cold plate with yellowtail, blueberry pie cocktail were out top favorites so good!!! Fried milk desert while tasty but 4/5 stars. The waitstaff was so nice! Would def go here again

I do not typically give 5 stars, but Uchiba was a super great experience. The fish was so fresh and tasted so good. The food was overall just very good. The service was the best part. They made us feel so welcome and provided so much professionalism. There was a big group of us so it definitely was not easy to help all of us. The ambiance is nicer dinner/darker indoors, but would recommend for nicer night out. I would definitely return!
Round 2 at the more casual upstairs spot Uchiba above Uchi
Round 2 at the more casual upstairs spot Uchiba above Uchi & happy happy to share. I tried a few drinks and sakes on the menu and have to recommend the Island Heat (sweet mezcal drink). You can hardly tell it's mezcal so I'd give it a go if you're a tequila person too. I tried a few sakes and my favorite one was called demon slayer, affordable, filtered and delicious with my sushi. They do a special night called Uncommon Ramen and it's priced well, tasted amazing. I can't go here and not order sushi too, my favorites are the Hama Chili (yellowtail) over oranges & tuna crudo as an app. To follow, I really enjoy the fresh toyosu sashimi's - salmon belly! Flounder! I really love the fatty tuna belly too. like to get a wagyu tartare or dumpling if only ordering sushi to mix it up. For dessert, Fried Milk you do need a reservation in advance here & it's a better experience for small groups of 2- 4people since sharing/ trying as many dishes will certainly add to the experience.
The meal was excellent.
I hate to give anyone 5 stars but this was close. Lots of food and they did a good job of cooking it in front of us. We took the last two meats home, couldn't finish it. The soups were very good. The neat little stove at the table was just the right size and they had very good airflow to keep the area smoke free. We particularly like the short ribs.

I went upstairs to the bar area and had a wonderful food experience along with a cocktail. The food at Uchiba is outstanding, fresh, high quality and interesting. Been there twice and can't wait to go back.
We had the best experience here! We sat at the sushi bar
We had the best experience here! We sat at the sushi bar and Danny gave us the most delicious recommendations ! I can't say a single bad thing about the food, it exceeded our expectations.
Had a wonderful dinner at Uchiba.
The small plates were fresh, delicious, and fun. We tried 6 different items and not a single one disappointed. We will definitely be back again!
I first have to say that I love uchi and the creative fun
I first have to say that I love uchi and the creative fun playful flavor profiles they've created over the years. Our waitress came to our table 10 minutes after we sat down and made the entire experience underwhelming. She seemed annoyed she had to wait on us. There was a lack of willingness to be more than an order taker. I appreciate the darker vibes of some of the other concepts. The food was extremely slow coming out and nothing I ordered was worth mentioning here. It was all okay ... but I don't go to Uchi for okay.
Good place for chilling with good quality of food, love it
Good place for chilling with good quality of food, love it here!! Also the service always excellent.
Ummm....WOW, is all I can say! This place captivated me
Ummm....WOW, is all I can say! This place captivated me from entry to exit. When I first got out my Uber to walk up the stairs, I could tell it was going to be an exceptional experience. Roz greeted me at the door and sat me at a large high top until the rest of my party arrived. She then proceeded to bring me a drink menu where we discussed the options. I opted for her personal favorite, the blueberry pie. It was so phenomenal, that I had 3 of them. LOL. It featured house-made pie crust and it was the perfect balance of boozy and sweet. But not overly sweet like you would think when it comes to blueberry pie cocktail. On to the food. We had smoked salmon maki, karaage, dumplings, kinoko skewers, wagyu beef, hot chicken, and a featured bao. Nothing, and I do mean nothing, missed the mark. I cannot wait until I am back in the area to snag more dishes. The experience was so great, I only managed to take a few pics.
I feel like this place is more to just sit down and talk,
I feel like this place is more to just sit down and talk, the food is mediocre for the overpriced dishes. I'm not from Texas and was looking for a good sushi place to dine at, while back at home we have a revolving sushi bar which prices their plates at $3.20 when this place ranges from $15 and up, for the same even possibly better sushi than this restaurant. Our server never really comes back either, and assumed that all of our orders were shareable, which these proportions are typically 6-8 small pieces that anyone can eat in one sitting, even when not dining on an empty stomach. I understand that this isn't a revolving sushi bar and this is a place to sit and dine with ambience, but the mood gets a bit ruined when sitting for 30 minutes waiting for 6 pieces of sushi. The server also doesn't specify how big the portions are, and one of the guests dining with me wasn't aware that the sushi they ordered was one piece for a stupid amount of money, with nothing special on it. I'm heavily disappointed.
Best Sushi in Dallas!
Dined here in late December. We had the special NYE tasting menu (though it was a couple of days before NYE) with the sake pairings, and everything was fantastic. It was perhaps all a bit over the top with foie gras, uni foam, A5, etc but each course was delicious, flavorful, and almost sinfully good. The sake pairings were also spot-on, and the service, despite being very busy, never flagged. Even though we had a particular holiday menu, it was still some of the best sushi we have ever tasted, and Uchi remains the best sushi restaurant in Dallas.
Horrible 01/01/2024 experience.
Had a horrible experience here. Food was late, waiter would place plate on my table and would run off not giving you a chance to ask for something. When I brought this up to another waiter she informed me that, that is what they do here. So I told her okay so if I want something I have to stand up and get it myself… she said no…( which was exactly what I meant) …. So while my friends were ordering/ having their dessert I was still trying to eat my dinner.
Exceptional sushi!!
This is my favorite place to have sushi when I come to Dallas . Everything is not only aesthetically pleasing, but just an explosion of flavors with every single item.! They start you out with a mango sorbet to cleanse the palate . I will always from here on out ask for “HOON”. He was a sushi chef. We had everything from pork belly to Wagyu., tuna, and salmon absolutely everything. I do believe they serve the best dessert in Dallas, which is called. “Fried Milk” The only complaint I have, and I could not see, knocking it to four stars is the service when you are at the chefs bar, other people are bringing you the food and the service there was not up to par, especially a server named “LA”. She was unfriendly unprofessional, and I hope I never have to have dealings with her again. The other servers were pleasant, but not welcoming. Atmosphere is wonderful it’s not too loud a great experience especially because of our sushi chef HOON !!
Excellent experience
My wife and I celebrity her birthday at Uchi Dallas and we had a wonderful time. The service is great. Our waiter Joey really detail, explain to us on each dishes. The sushi is fresh other cooked dishes are very tasty. You can tell the chefs put a lot of time and effect to create each dishes.
A must to visit
This restaurant is real a must in your life. The food is amazing !!! My first time was in Miami and this time I visited the Dallas premises. I will repeat soon in the near future…
You'll never go back to a crunchy dynamite roll again.
This hot spot is a gem. The vibe is cool and contemporary, educated and smart. The service is excellent without being overbearing but that is important because this is not your California or crunchy roll kind of place. Uchi celebrates the art of showcasing the freshest sushi available in its beautiful simplicity. The yellow sashimi is a step above the normal preparation, the ocean bass is not to be missed if they haven't sold out. They have great sake selection and the servers were very helpful in selection. I went with friends the first time but often go solo and sit either at the sushi bar or wine bar. Solos can often sneak in without a reservation. It's small portions so if you are starving it will be a pricey meal but I've not had fresher or more consistently excellent sushi anywhere. Toro and uni lovers rejoice. The 12 hour sous vide octopus roll is simply spectacular as is the bluefin tuna belly roll with truffle oil. Warning - after eating here you'll probably have trouble going back to the strip mall joints and ordering the old school rolls.
Best sushi place in Dallas.
Excellent place food and ambience. Fresh fish flown in regularly from Japan makes for an impressive offering and staff was legendary on the omakase offering nailing down the tastes and quantity. Must visit if you are after quality sushi.
Great place
Excellent service, wonderful and tasteful food. Ambiance very Chic. We shared several dishes and all of them great! The only thing missing for me was that the they only serve sake, beer and wine.
Very mixed
Super cool & nice restaurant with friendly and professional staff. Unfortunately the food was not on the same level tonight. Sashimi of salmon was terribel, it can not be served like this. Chewy & with brown pieces on the end. Its supposed to be tender and melt in the mouth. They removed it from the bill. Second cource was a thai inspirated lobster dish. I liked the taste, but the lobster was not of good quality. Third cource was kingcrab. Very good & interesting dish with lots of flavour. Spicy with chili, mushroom, sundried tomatoes and more. Even all the staff was so nice i leave with not the best experience regarding the food. I am sure they will be able to adjust this in the future.
Just amazing ❤️
Last year during a business trip to Dallas given I love Uchi in Miami I decided to try the Dallas location and as expected it did not disappoint us. We sat at the bar and had Chef Thai took care of us and the food, he was amazing in recommending the dishes, we tried a bunch and one after the other just so good, here the list in the order of the photos : Tuna Maki Short Rib Walu Walu Mushroom Dumpling Machi Cure Sake Pom Sakana Foie Gras Fried Milk All absolutely amazing, so whenever and wherever there is a Uchi restaurant, if I am visiting that place I will for sure go to Uchi as it never disappoints @uchidallas For more of my favorite restaurants, places and more, like my Facebook page Naddia’s Favorites or follow me on Instagram @naddias_favorites
Some of the best fish…..
We came for a quick dinner before going to the Dallas Stars game. We were really impressed with the quality of the fish and the service given. Truly up there with some of the best Japanese food I have eaten. Special thank you to the manger Kevlar (?) who helped remove chewing gum from the back of my trousers that had been thoughtfully left on the edge of the seat by a previous customer, why on earth !!?? That was most kind and went above and beyond. We will return in early April for sure.
Best service EVER!
We were stay next door. My wife was sick and needed some soup. They don’t do take out for soup. Without asking the manger came, I told him the situation and he immediately remediated the issue! I have traveled the entire world and have NEVER had that level of customer service!
Awesome overall!
Went for Happy Hour… We Love sushi. Everyone was amazing . Everything tasted amazing. Was told that happy hour all the portions were tapas style understood but after having 12 different plates 4 glasses of wine 210$ later we were disappointed that we left hungry. It definitely was an experience for the palette but I’ll stick to Sushi Kushi that’s the best in town! Still give you guys a 5 stars rating because you are that type of restaurant overall…
A delectable sushi experience.
Uchi, was my first choice to celebrate our 30th anniversary and we were even more impressed with the tasty morsels which were perfectly presented.
