Nice lunch!
Nice lunch on the patio! We stopped here for lunch before leaving town for a cocktail and quick bite to eat. We had a margarita and bloody mary, chips and salsa, and entrees were tacos and a blondie salad. The cocktails were good and the food was tasty. We especially enjoyed the salad - perfect for a summer day. We'll be back!

Food was so-so. Blonde salad had little flavor. Fajitas were not much better. Out of draft beer. A score off 3 is generous.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent, but.
The food was excellent. The outdoor patio was comfortable and had a good vibe. The service was below average. It seemed like there were ample workers, but our waiter was disinterested.

We had a reservation and our choice was to sit outside in the rain or right next to a very large open window. All the tables in the tent were occupied. Mind you we are frequent guests here. Needless to say we could only tolerate 30 min in the freezing cold.I would think you wouldn't take reservations for more than you can comfortably sit. Absolutely terrible. Lost some good customers for sure.

Tacos were good. I got the Tijuana picnic which had 1 each of every taco!! Threw those babys back fast! The pineapple al pastor was my favorite! The fajitas were good but needed more meat in my opinion for steak and shrimp. They were good also though! Regular Margarita a little too sweet for my liking but that didnโt stop me. The others I was with liked them though. This bar used to be Justinโs before it became Tuco and Blondie. I have fond memories at this location.

Neighborhood restaurant w 2 outdoor seating areas as well as indoor.
We walked there, but there is paid street parking if you can find it. Service was good. They did not have any of the initial things we ordered off the menu (and apparently did not know till after we ordered and waited) and so were offered a second choice for all three of us, w the second round 1 order on the menu not available. Once we got past that, the food was good. There are no menus: you use a QR code on the table to access the link.
No seating inside, but the patio areas are well done w nice umbrellas, lights, and plants. Very nice. Would go again.
Great lunch for Restaurant Week
This was our first visit to Tuco and Blondie's and we were very happy with our meal and service. We had made reservations, and were seated immediately. They started us out with complimentary chips and salsa, which we weren't expecting.
We ordered from the Restaurant Week special lunch menu, starting with chile con queso and short rib nachos. The chile con queso wasn't a bowl of chili as we'd expected, but instead was a chili, cheese, guacamole and sour cream mixture served on a tortilla. Despite the different format, it was quite good. The short rib nachos were served with the cheese, meat, jalapeno and sour cream provided in a bowl, so you do-it-yourself to make the nachos using the chips already at the table. Again, an unusual way to serve it, but also very good tasting.
For main courses we had the chicken enchiladas and the shrimp fajitas. There were two large enchiladas filled with a generous amount of chicken. The fajitas included five large, tasty shrimp cooked perfectly, along with roasted peppers and onion, pico de gallo, guacamole, lettuce and cheese, and tortillas. Both were served with a good-sized portion of rice and beans, and both were filling,
The dessert was a Mexican chocolate brownie, served warm, with whipped cream. Its texture was more like that of a cake than a brownie, but was very good. The portion was enough for two people, and after appetizers and main courses, we left most of the brownie, too full to finish it.
Throughout the meal, the service was prompt, attentive and friendly.
The $24 price for the 3 course lunch was a bargain; the only negative was the price of soft drinks, at $3.25 (big profit margin there!)
All in all, Tuco and Blondie is a great place to try for restaurant week.
great margaritas and food
yummy food, sizzling fajitas, great margarita selection! would definately come back again to try more menu items. promt service and they kept the chips and salsa plentyful!

We went for a late meal. The place was packed on a Friday night, but we only waited about 20 minutes. We had the Al Pastor tacos and the Ground Beef ones! Amazing! So good! Ground beef ones were a little spicy but so delicious! Al Pastor one were perfect, so goood! The price was great,
so was the meal and service!
Great trendy Mexican restaurant
This is a really cool trendy Mexican restaurant. The food was very good and the service was very good too. I've only been here once, but the place seemed super crowded so I would make reservations beforehand.
Be the first to ReplyTry the hot queso and chips
Fairly busy for a Wednesday night and we had a group of ten people. They handled our group very well.
Chips and salsa and of course the queso were excellent.
Entrees were very good and fresh and came out very quickly.
When in Chicago we will likely return.
Chicken Quesadilla and chill
First time trying this place and I was NOT disappointed! The chicken and steak quesadilla were off the chain good. The chicken itself is sooo good; itโs like they slow cooked it in some type of gravy. The guacamole is sooooo good. The combination of everything was excellent. The atmosphere was chill. We went in the early afternoon and couldโve stayed there all day. Iโd give this place 10 stars if I had the option. Iโll post pictures; enjoy ๐!
