Recommended for Japanese food
Excellent udon noodles. The music is slightly too loud but we ate very well there. Good place to eat Japanese food.
Be the first to ReplyGreat dinner! Get the grilled unagi
Oh my God it was so good! The unagi just melted in my mouth! I put some in the appetizer plate for my daughter and she was enjoying her udon noodle soup too much so I finished the unagi, did not save it for her after all.

Sushi cravings satisfied! Went here for NYC restaurant week and I was hooked! Location: It is located in west 48th st. It was a nice interior, bar or sushi seatings available if your by yourself like me. Service: she was great! Felt like I am well taking care of. Food: so the NYC restaurant week set that I got is the 8 pc OMAKASE set, it is compose of Tuna, Scallop, Salmon, Hamachi, Unagi, Ikura, Uni and stripe Bass. The sushi are fresh, the rice is a little bit hard on some of the sushis. It comes with TEMPURA which I all love, it is fried to perfection! Very light and crispy. It also comes with UDON which I upgraded to Katsu Curry, the udon was fresh, the curry is flavorful and the katsu was fried well. TSURUTONTAN ICE CREAM: its so good, it taste like vanilla ice cream with brown sugar syrup! Perfect to end the meal. Price rating: 7/10, it was not bad. Cause its a lot of food. I will definitely come back here. The service is nice and the food makes me want to come back.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent udon/sushi combo
Came for dinner. Loved the sake, and especially the udon/sushi combo! Very generous portions. Flavorful udon broth and tender beef. Sushi was very fresh and tasty as well.

We had a grand time on a Saturday evening with six family members from around the country. Udon was fine, 'though the soups were a bit rich for our Japanese tastes. We liked the sushi and sashimi, which were fresh and well presented. Service was a little pushy at the beginning but well balanced through most of the meal - courteous, available, and prompt. We made a couple of special requests, some of which were met with appropriate and apologetic "no" and some of which were met with prompt compliance.

What a find! The food was cooked to perfection and so fresh. The service was excellent. Donโt walk past this little gem of a restaurant, itโs amazing!
Be the first to ReplyBest sushi in my life
Literally the best sushi I've ever eaten. My husband loved it so much he actually cried a little. We had the combo with three rolls and a small beef udon. The service was fast and the decor was beautiful. We also had $4 beers because it was happy hour.

I waited an hour for them to attend me and when we spoke with the employee he answered us in a rude way. At the end they never attended us and we left
Be the first to ReplyYum!
Such a good spot for the cold weather (and even when it's not!). Decor is trendy and it usually fills up during the lunch hour. Either come before 12pm or after 1pm for little to no wait. Lots of options to choose from and the best part is that you can get the large portion for no extra charge! I like to go with the thinner noodles as they are easier to pick up with chopsticks. The soy garlic fried chicken is also to die for! You will not walk out of this place hungry, that's for sure.
Be the first to ReplyVery good Udon
Visited for dinner with my wife and daughter. We lived in Japan previously for three years and developed a liking for Udon and Ramen. This place did not disappoint. Most of the patrons there were Asian - which speaks to their quality and popularity. Servings are really huge, so don't over-order. If the menu says 'spicy', believe them. Will definitely return.
Be the first to ReplyBad service and experience to a regular customer
I made a reservation for 5:15pm on a Friday to celebrate a friend's birthday. I was given a table at the back on the main floor. It was stuffy because it was near the kitchen and pretty loud. There were plenty of tables downstairs open (around 15) so I asked if we could switch tables and the waiter said I would have to talk to a manager. The manager came by and was no help at all. He didn't appease the situation and said we couldn't move tables because they were already assigned in the computer to people who hadn't arrived yet. Normally, this would be an easy request but the manager said no. It shouldn't be that hard to tell the hosts to switch someone who hadn't even arrived yet. They said if we switched tables we would have to go back outside and wait. What on earth? Horrible manager that does not know not to make customers satisfied. I won't be coming back to this location. The union square location is much better service.
To top it off we ordered the lychee ricotta which I've had before and it came out as a plate of lychee ice cream with sauce. It must have been out as they faked it. The original was in a cup not a plate and had lychee flakes on it. A waste of $11 and an unpleasant experience with the manager and service.
