Top restaurant!
In the center of Verona, we couldn't have made a better choice. Typical Veronese cuisine with a wide choice of wines. We were delighted by the cod and the guinea fowl raviili...truly sublime!

An engaging experience to be repeated at the first opportunity. Warm place, stratospheric food, service and staff of rare professionalism. Absolutely adequate bill, excellent value for money. A must for anyone who wants to enjoy high-level local cuisine

This was the meal that I will still taste in my dreams. It was seriously wonderful. We had antipasta, soup, pasta and a main course But the waiter was most obliging in putting each course on two plates otherwise it would have been way too much! The restaurant is very atmospheric, the staff attentive and the food truly worth it. It is the best especially as it is so close to the main tourist area. Booking beforehand is essential. I can’t tell you how many people were trying to “walk in”. Just book
Be the first to ReplyCosy atmosphere and outstanding service
This is now our favorite restaurants in Verona. The food is exceptional and so is the service. Unusual combinations of ingredients turns Veronese regulars into outstanding courses. The price was fine given the quality and service encountered. Great wine list and awesome range of meats and cheeses.

Restaurant in the centre, quaint, clean. Traditional dishes done well. Prices a little higher than other places of the same level in the centre.

Dinner with somewhat noisy friends, we still had a good time. Kind staff prepared good typical Venetian dishes To try without friends

A typical trattoria where together with a lot of friendliness and availability you can taste the goodness of traditional dishes such as "pasta and beans", potato gnocchi, but also a rich selection of cured meats. A pleasant lunch seasoned with great kindness and helpfulness. Thank you

Marco Dandrea and Masterful Team Spoiled us to a degree of abundance and thoughtfulness. It made us so welcomed and comfortable to say the least as this place is a local treasure that a booking is essential. Otherwise you will sadly miss out on this Gastronomical Experience of local Hospitality and Cuisine 🙏🏾
Be the first to ReplyWhat a disappointment
We were advised by a couple of locals that this is the restaurant to go to when in Verona. From the week that we spent in this beautiful city, the owner of Al Pompiere was by far the rudest person we met. We merely popped our heads through the front door to enquire if we could make a booking for the Saturday evening. He was immediately rude to us saying no and then asked us to close the door behind us on the way out. What a shame especially as we had been advised that the owner used to be a fireman, as did my husband. We did however book into the fabulous Al Canton and were welcomed with open arms and had a fantastic meal.
Be the first to ReplyAn Exceptional Dining Experience
During our stay in Verona, the city famously known for Romeo and Juliet, we dined at Trattoria dal Pompiere for dinner. The restaurant offers two indoor venues and a small al fresco terrace during the good months of the year. On the left side of the entrance, there is a small dining room with a few tables, providing an intimate dining experience. This room is decorated with numerous pictures of artists and famous guests who have visited the restaurant in the past. On the opposite side of the entrance, the dining room is more spacious and offers a great view of the kitchen and the "salumeria," where the chef slices a selection of traditional local charcuterie and artisanal cheeses upon order. To start our meal, we ordered a plate of salami with a bread basket and a small selection of homemade pickles. The taste was incredibly well-balanced, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. As our first course, we shared the guinea fowl ravioli with brown butter, which was another delightful dish with fantastic flavors. For our main course, we opted for the beef tagliata, perfectly cooked, and the Venetian style calf liver with grilled polenta, both of which were of decent portion size and tasted very nice. To end our meal on a sweet note, we indulged in the classic Sbrisolona, which was perfectly prepared and served with an espresso. We also ordered a bottle of Amarone Masi for our dinner, which had an excellent selection of wines from Italy, particularly from the Veneto region. The service was attentive and professional, without being intrusive, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, we had a great time at Trattoria dal Pompiere and would definitely visit again during our next trip to Verona.
Be the first to ReplyThe owner is not pet friendly and not well mannered
The other night the owner treated me extremely bad because my dog barked at him because of his hat, which she is afraid of. My dog never barks and is very well mannered, on the contrary he is not. I have never been treated that bad in my entire life. I like the place but I will never forget how he treated us.
Be the first to ReplyOutdoor dinner on a small patio; dark but tasty food
We were one of the last seatings at this outside patio in Verona. The food was good with rich meats and sauces over pasta, and the desserts were wonderful. What a lucky find, we would return!
Be the first to ReplyTerrible Service
We came here recommended by our tour guide. I can say the food was very good but although she had made a reservation in her name, it did not help the fact we were tourists and were treated as such. We were escorted to our seats and ignored while waiting on others who came after us. When I flagged a water and placed my order “a cheese plate followed by gnocchi,” the waiter quickly responded that cheese comes after the meal. Therefore, no cheese. At the end of the day, we did not feel welcome.
