Food: the cheese plate and complimentary bread baskets are really, really fantastic, and my husband found the veal parmesan to be excellent both in terms of taste and quality. However, my pasta was a disaster. I ordered a ditalini pasta with vegetables and the dish was... so strange. The portion was offensively small, and the sauce was completely flavorless. I ate the entire dish in about four spoonfuls, and had to order delivery McDonald's afterwards. Atmosphere: gorgeous in a somewhat dated way. The views of Hong Kong Island are excellent and the ceilings are very high, but the interior decor is all glass and reflective surfaces. Totally fine, but not particularly my style. Service: excellent! The service was really spectacular: attentive, friendly, and very accommodating.I feel bad giving this restaurant a 3 star review because it is very lovely and some of the food was quite good, but the pasta was so ridiculous and so overpriced I can't bring myself to give a fourth star.

Located inside the Ritz Carlton Hong Kong, you know as soon as you step inside this beautiful restaurant that it isn't going to be cheap. Let's face it, if you're looking for affordable Italian in the city, I'm sure there are plenty of more desirable options. However, if you're looking for something special, perhaps a "wow" moment, this is the place for you. Awarded a Michelin Star, I expected the standards to be high and the restaurant did not disappoint. We were seated by the window with a stunning view of Victoria Harbor down below, which set the mood for an elegant fine dining experience. The nimble staff was quick yet not rushed and paced the entire meal very well. Unlike some other Michelin starred restaurants that force you into a single prefixe meal, they offered several options including smaller pre-fixe meals to cater to each individual's appetites and desires. I selected the four course pre fixe which included the carpaccio, cavatelli, main course, cheese plate, and dessert. I spotted gnocchi on the the menu and since it was my favorite pasta and it was indeed house made, i decided to share it with my dining guest. They made no fuss about it and kindly offered to split the dish for us.After ordering, I took the opportunity to scan the restaurant. The dimly lit environs were flanked by floor to ceiling glass windows which allowed the panoramic city skyline to be your backdrop. Grand chandeliers cascaded above the sleekly designed restaurant lending to an opulent yet modern dining space. The open kitchen made for a more interactive environment, which i liked very much. It was nice to see the chef and his staff at work. It was quite remarkable. As soon as my carpaccio arrived, I knew I was in for a treat. It was sublime and literally melted in my mouth. The gnocchi arrived soon after and boy was I in for a treat. They felt like soft pillows in my mouth with a burst of flavor inside each heavenly bite. Coupled with a delicious meat sauce, I was tempted to lick my plate. It was that good.Following the gnocchi was the main course, which was the branzino di lenza. This expertly prepared dish prompted the chef himself, Nicola Russo to present it to our table with a description of how the fish was prepared. It was stunning, and the flesh was like butter. It exhibited an extraordinary mouthfeel with subtle flavors that did not overpower but enhanced the natural flavors of this beautiful fish. A winning dish in my book. Following the main course, we were greeted by Julia, the assistant manager who presented us with the evening's cheese selections. Her presentation was both thorough and informative. In all honesty, they all sounded so enticing that I asked her to provide us with her favorites. She did just that and I had the opportunity to enjoy some wonderful cheeses before our desserts arrived. When dessert arrived, we were provided with three exceptional desserts: the panna cotta, Tiramisu and lemon tart. I can honestly say I've enjoyed all three before but it felt the like the first time experiencing them that night. Each had a unique flavor and preparation that made it feel special and brand new, which was not an easy feat. Most importantly, they were successful twists to classics that I know and love and I would kindly welcome seconds if I wasn't already so full. Overall, I had an exemplary experience. The contemporary dining space, stunning views, thoughtful service and beautiful food made me a fan. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a celebratory evening or just a special night. It's worth every penny.Happy Eats!

Visited Tosca a while back, pretty sure the menu has changed through quite a number of iterations. Fantastic panoramic view of HK Island from 100 plus levels above ground on Kowloon side. From service to food, everything well exceeded my expectation (except the portions). A dining experience not to be missed!
Be the first to ReplyQuite simply one of the best meals I've had, bar none.
From the moment we were seated to a front row view of Hong Kong at night from 103 floors up to the time we wrapped. Everything was simply perfection. I've never tasted such perfect pasta. Each piece was a work of art on my palate - I've never had it cooked so perfectly. The lamb that followed it up was cooked and seasoned to perfect doneness. The non-alcoholic cocktails they had for guys like me were outstanding. Not to be outdone, the service was perfectly attentive, not overbearing in any way. Tosca easily and quite handily lives up to its two Michelin stars!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent choice for high-end Italian food in Hong Kong.
I find that the Ritz Carlton is very consistent here with the quality of their offerings across multiple restaurants. Delicious food, great service, and a beautiful view. Couldn't ask for much more. Maybe not at the "wow" level as Tin Lung Heen (their canton restaurant) but still amazing.

I had the pleasure of dining in the private room on the 103rd floor with work colleagues while in HK for a conference December 2017. The service, views and ambience was amazing. When I say they cater to your needs...they cater. Someone needed and iphone charger, no problem. I needed gluten free options and they gave me gluten free rolls. Presentation as you can see is very cool amd interesting. I had risotto for the first time and it was great. I can't afford this dinner everyday but the experience is worth every penny.

Came here on a Sunday evening, I was able to make a same day reservation for Ozone so I said to myself why not have some dinner at Tosca.I don't remember everything I ate, but it was all very good. I ordered the six course meal which totaled to $250 USD. While the food's presentation was great, the taste wasn't anything that blew me out of the water, but for the view and ambience I still recommend this place.Service was great, they even moved me at my request to a seat closer to the window so I could have a view.My only complaint was that they didn't clean my table cloth when the courses changed, and I had to stare at my bread crumbs all the way until dessert, when they did clear the table cloth.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food, amazing view.
We had the wine where they poured it from a gigantic bottle. Quite impressive, they had a contraption to pour the wine.Mediterranean red tunaThis is prepared two ways:1. Fried - The tuna was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside.2. Poached - delicious but I preferred the fried type moreThe view was quite something, one of the best views in HK.
Be the first to ReplyWe came for Sunday Brunch.
We went with the Veuve option for $110. I can't get a deal that amazing anywhere in the US!! My ears popped going up the elevator but it was so foggy we were literally in the clouds! On a clear day oh my I can't imagine the view. But inside the view was amazing - the decor and the lineup of food (crab, lobster, shrimp, tons of salads, cheeses, meats, dips, etc). Then they had pasta stations and waffle options and pizza all this behind the scenes stuff we realized after! Service was impeccable, the crowd was hip and well dressed, the food was amazing, the champagne was obviously perfect, and I'd go back next trip for sure!!! Oh and it's a Michelin restaurant -- where else can two dine with unlimited champagne for under $250???
