Food good, ambience not so appealing
It took us a while to find the restaurant. When we got there, we had to wait a bit. After that, the way we were served was rather mechanical. The food, which was actually quite good, was served in a sober atmosphere. Communication in English was not really possible. When we ordered, we weren't quite sure what we were going to get. In the end, it was OK, but not famous. Probably mainly due to the atmosphere.

Great quality and value Dim Sum in Shek Kip Mei! Always worth the wait in the queue! We celebrated our final meal in Hong Kong here before returning to London from our honeymoon!

Famous for the pork buns and they have several other dishes that are not bad - cheong fun, congee, noodles, crispy roast chicken, chicken feet Ok for a quick non expensive meal 7/10

We went to this place impulsively as it was close to our hotel and had seats available. The best decision ever. The food was absolutely amazing. Must try the BBQ Pork Buns - they were our favourite! Ended up visiting again before our holiday ended. Will definitely come back here next time weโre around!

Be the first to ReplySatisfied my Tim Ho Wan Cravings
I had a craving for Tim Ho Wan dim sum after checking into my hotel. It was a short walk but also close to the Olympic MRT station. When I arrived there were only three groups ahead of me but turnover was quick. I was seated in a corner by myself so that was a plus. Other tables had a barrier separating different sets of diners if the table was shared. To order I just filed out the paper menu with my selections and handed it over to the server. Delivery was quick but at least not all at once being a solo diner. My choices this time: Baked buns - sweet, crunchy topping with bbq pork was still my favorite Shrimp roll - generous three rolls Fried shrimp bean curd wrapper was hot and crunchy. Another top choice for me. Bean curd roll - a little disappointing without much flavor. Lunch was filling and mostly satisfying. After finishing lunch I took the ticket up to the front and had to pay cash as they did not accept credit cards.

Terrible. Ordered some steamed buns and they brought them out immediately. Quick service? Not exactly. They were cold. Obviously pre made and sitting for who know how long. I told the server they were cold and he said they were made to order. Maybe we have a different definition of what made to order means. We sent them back and he immediately brought out a new batch of room temperature buns. We walked out.

Authentic chinese dim sum, fast and friendly service, very good value, delicious, packed with locals. Would return again

We were looking forward to lunch at Tim Ho Wan. Who wouldn't when it's a Michelin stared restaurant after all? The food would've been great if only the servers were kinder and more pleasing. I spilled tea on the table but instead of helping us, the lady server threw us a piece of cloth to clean after ourselves. The servers lacked customer service. Our food was served in an unpleasant matter. She sounded and looked annoyed. The experience didn't feel like it deserved a visit.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect for a send off!
My friends took me here yesterday for lunch and it was perfect for a send off. The Dim Sum themselves were light, fluffy, tasty and inexpensive. This is a restaurant that I have patronised frequently over the years -and in multiple locations. But this is my favourite outlet as it is so close top my soon-to-be former workplace.
Be the first to ReplyOverrated tasteless slop
Totally overrated. No idea why this is raves about or in all the guide books - if this has a Michelin star than that organisation is a joke.
The food is tasteless, soggy and bland. One of the Dumplings tasted like sugar. After eating I couldnโt stop drinking water for the rest of the day - sign of too much salt and msg. There is much better dim sum else where, donโt waste your time here at all.

We love Tim Ho Wan!
My family is a huge fan of the unique legendary delicious juicy, crumbly fluffy baked bbq pork buns and also other delightful dim sum.
We are fortunate that Tim Ho Wan expanded to other countries like Singapore Plaza Singapura in 2013, so that we have a chance to experience this gastronomy.
Tim Ho Wan truly deserves the One Michelin Star it earned since 2010 and is able to keep its excellent quality consistent throughout the years.
Other dishes that we love include the soft spongy caramelised steamed Malay Sponge Cake and lightly pan fried crispy smooth carrot cake.
We strongly recommend more people to experience Tim Ho Wan and savour their greatness!

Good Dim Sum Good Price
We dined at Olympic Branch, the dim sum standard never fail in comparison to its price. The atmosphere is very local and due to COVID, 2 at a table with plastic transparent divider. Good for a quick dim sum lunch at very good price

Went to the IFC MTR branch. Food was delicious. Didnโt disappoint. Loved the baked cha siu pao along with the dimsum and rice rolls.
Service was efficient and friendly.
Premium dimsum
Their dimsum is truly something to long for. Especially the steamed pork bun and their dumplings. Once tasted, always wanted.
Be the first to ReplyGood variety of classic Hong Kong Dim Sum
Fast service.
There is a discount for take-away.
Packed well and still tastes great after the 10 minute walk back to the apartment.
A little hard to find, as its off the main road and the wall of a building that it is in doesn't have quick exit to the main road (unless it's through the shopping centre).
Affordable and delicious
This restaurant always has a long queue but when we drove by today, there was no queue so we decided to drop in fir an early lunch. It was a full house inside but they were able to find two tables to accommodate our family of 4.
We ordered 12 dishes for our 2 tables and everything was absolutely delightful. The congee, the meatball, chicken feet, shao mai, bbq pork buns, spare ribs with black bean sauce, carrot cake, prawn dumplings and more prawn dumplings. All for less than $250 including tea...a great value for 12 mouth watering dim sum dishes.
Highly recommended especially when there is no queue out front!
Great Food
The food are yummy and very fast service. Food quality is the best...even social distancing i will still go back and eat. Always buy this as a present to my friend and family. Definitely will come back!
