The Unicorn Fish Restaurant Bergen Reviews from The Last Year
Good fish in a historic setting
The restaurant is located in one of the typical wooden houses on the Bergen wharf. We had a selection of fish dishes including halibut, turbot and cod which were all excellent.
Do not miss
For a Norwegian culinary discovery Excellent and exceptional tapas From whale to deer it’s exotic Impeccable service, attentive and located in one of the oldest houses in Bergen
Poor food experience
Place looked really nice. Our tasting experience was average compared to other fish restaurants in Bergen. I had oysters and pan-fried cod for main course. 4 hours after leaving the restaurant I experienced severe food poisoning symptoms, which I suspect was due to the oysters. Any other food I had during the day and at the restaurant was shared with other people who did not experience any symptoms.
Dinner for two in Bergen
Quirky interior was just lovely. You felt like you were in a boat. The bar below was great for a pre dinner drink with fantastic live music. Food was very traditional I had cod tongue coated in breadcrumbs followed by poached cod with roe and liver and cream sauce with carrots . I just did not find it that tasty. The cuisine just felt a bit old fashioned and the lumpy liver sauce was not to my taste. It might have been a cultural thing though. I was a bit sad to see whale on the menu. I understand it’s very traditional and there are caps on how many are caught but personally I think it’s a tradition that should be ended.
Amazing fish dishes
Nice, traditional dining place. The halibut and salmon were amazing! Super tender and juicy. Best fish dish I’ve ever had.
Lovely evening at Enhjørningen på brygge
Good atmosphere, attentive and pleasant hosts, and a lovely 5-course menu! Delicious fish, as you can expect on the pier in Bergen.
Complete Bergen culinary experience
Best seafood I ever ate in Norway, perfectly assorted wine and dessert. High level service. Very elegant, yet traditional space inside an old Bergen Brygge house. I will definitely come back.
Sad pre-Christmas mood - expensive and bad!
This year's small private Christmas party was a letdown. Every year we eat lutefisk at various restaurants in Norway/Bergen. This year it was like eating in a bad Norwegian state canteen. In all respects. The lutefish was served by unenthusiastic waiters, who were not particularly up-to-date. Blue. they didn't know about different types of beer/IPA. Then the food arrived with small half-boiled potatoes and yellow pea stew with equally half-boiled peas. The fish was full of bones and skin. Unusual and unexpectedly poor quality for food at almost NOK 700 per person. We simply felt cheated after the worst ever lutefisk dinner at what was supposed to be a respectable restaurant. Most expensive and simplest Christmas food and service ever. Authentic local was the only thing that stood out on this visit. Sharpen yourselves!!
Thoroughly enjoyable
Food was very good ambiance very comfortable nicely lit serving staff very friendly and more importantly very knowledgeable about the menu helping you to choose wisely and fully informed. Nice range of wines too
Disappointing experience
Food was nice but service horrible. Felt like we were an afterthought. Nothing more to say but pure disappointment

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
