The Three Horseshoes Country Inn & Spa (Leek) Cheddleton Reviews from The Last Year
Absolutely shocking hospitality!
We had a cavery which was cold! The hospitality was absolutely awful. We would not be visiting again way to overpriced for what it is
Overpriced, average food and service
Overpriced average food and service. We’ve been visiting this inn for almost 20 years as a family for the carvery but hadn’t been for a while until yesterday. All I can say is that I was underwhelmed. Where once we had friendly service and the staff were accommodating, on this occasion it felt like we were inconveniencing them. The food was average - small portions of meat being served, cheap vegetables. We won’t be bothering again.
Fantastic roast
Lovely roast dinner. Generous sized meal. No lamb but still choice of pork, beef and turkey. Service was a little off hence four stars. Waitress was lovely but waiter seemed harassed and we felt he was a little off but maybe just stressed as very busy and there was a wedding party there. Lovely food made up for it.
Amazing
Sam Boulton served us lovely lad honestly never felt so happy to have a carling too - best night of my life couldn’t of hoped for more
Delicious carvery
A delicious carvery. Had a lovely spot in the window. Very cosy. Lovely meats including lamb, pulled pork and great selection of vegetables including leeks in a delicious sauce. Staff really friendly as always. It is a lovely place to stop after a good walk around the Winking Man!
Great carvery
Hands down one of the best carveries I've had (other than home made by family), it was recommended by friends and worth the 2 hour round trip drive! My veggie boyfriend was well catered for too, however, the absence of veggie roast potatoes was really disappointing! There was veggie meat replacement, veggie gravy, but no roasties! Surely this is something simple to provide? Overall, we had a really good experience!
Very average lunch - disappointing
Firstly, all the staff were friendly, helpful and polite, they are an asset to the restaurant. Good customer service, so fair praise where it's due. I'd taken my Mum to the Three Horseshoes for lunch and we saw that lots of other customers chose the carvery so it's clearly a popular option, but it didn't look very appetising with boiled carrots and peas and grey stuffing. Although to be fair, a carvery always reminds me of school dinners, so I'm not a fan anyway. We chose a couple of dishes from the main menu - lasagne and butterfly chicken breast, both served with side salad & chips. The chips and salad were fine, but the main meals were only average. The mince in the lasagne wasn't good quality, so for that reason we are unlikely to return. There are many other pubs offering better quality food. We declined desserts and just had coffee. One minor irritation was that after making my booking online for 1pm, I received a confirmation email informing me that we must vacate our table by 2.15pm! In the event, there were still plenty of available tables at lunchtime and no one hurried us, but as our food didn't arrive until 1.40pm, the short time slot we were allocated seemed rather unreasonable! However, we didn't mind the wait for food as it usually means that it's freshly cooked, which it was. Overall a mixed experience.
Book this now
Brilliant in every respect friendly welcoming and professional staff Evening meal incredible Breakfast lovely Room comfortable and clean Bar area and dining area wonderful No hesitation in booking again
Average carvery
We were surprised how average the carvery was for a place with such a good reputation for weddings etc. We have had meals there in the past from the menu and they were excellent. Unfortunately we won't return again, very poor value and little choice in veg. Carrots, peas and cabbage ! Even the Carrots had nearly run out, so lacking a bit of supervision. Go for other pubs in the area for a better experience

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
