Europe Hotel
Beautiful hotel with breathtaking views of a huge lake and mountains. Good food and drinks service. Also good for events and conferences. Plenty of car parking and good wifi. Hotel rates in the area are high and this is one of the highest per night.

Be the first to ReplyGorgeous hotel, stunning views and food amazing staff
Absolutely Stunning hotel, staff, views and food. 4 of us stayed for 1 night. We had a ball. The staff are incredible, very friendly, helpful and accomodating. Especially Gearoid, Rachel, fabio and Padraig. They added to our amazing experience. We checked in earlier than our 3 o clock appointment and our room was ready. We had drinks at reception with outstanding views of the lake and kerry mountains. We had a 3 course meal at the restaurant, the food was delicious, and very tasty. We were also complimented a beautiful bottle of wine with our meal as we were celebrating big birthdays. It is an experience we will never forget and we are eternally grateful. Thank you, we will certainly be back.
Be the first to Reply5 Star All the Way
Some hotels just get it right from the moment you step inside the foyer, with a fine big welcome from Padraig "welcome back, lovely to see you all again" unlike that annoying phrase one gets in so many 5 star hotels these days..."have you stayed with us before"? (and we have!). We stayed here for for St Patrick's weekend en famille and it was wonderful from start to finish. As long as we can, we hope to make it an annual family trip as the Europe just go that extra mile, some lovely birthday gifts awaited two of my sons in our suite, it's the little things that mean so much and it did to them. A word for Natasha who was incredibly helpful allowing us an early check in as two of the party were flying into Kerry airport early, this was very much appreciated. So lovely to see the same staff here year after year, especially Miriam who always has a word and a chat. The cead mile failte is an integral part of the Irish hospitality industry and is not forgotten at The Europe. Dining at the Bistro was superb, as was the service by a most pleasant gentleman, we were a hungry lot and he played a blinder. The only downside was our trip wasn't long enough! Be the first to ReplySecond romantic getaway at The Europe Hotel Resort
We recently revisited Europe Hotel for another romantic escape, and once again, it was a total delight. The view from our room was simply breathtaking—like something out of a dream, even for us Wicklow folks used to stunning scenery. The service was top-notch, with everyone going out of their way to make us feel relaxed and pampered. And let's talk about the spa—it's unlike anything we've seen in Ireland; it felt like a vacation within a vacation. We made sure to hit up all the bars and restaurants, but our favorite dining spot was definitely the Panorama Restaurant. The food was scrumptious, and the staff made us feel right at home, especially Jurateh. She served us during our first visit and remembered us during our recent stay. She's a gem—attentive, knowledgeable about wine pairings, and she even remembered my allergy without me having to worry about a thing. Exploring wine pairing with different meats and dishes was a blast! I picked up some great tips from her that I have been already sharing with my friends back in Wicklow. I'm usually pretty conservative with tipping, but at Europe Hotel, I couldn't help but splurge a bit. The whole experience left us feeling so calm and rejuvenated. Can’t wait to be back!
Be the first to ReplyBest Hotel Ever!!
We have just returned today from a one night stay at The Europe. Wow! What can I say about this hotel? Most definitely my favourite hotel ever! The staff were just so amazing and helpful, nothing was any trouble. The hotel is just incredible. The facilities are amazing. The Panorama restaurant was closed on the night we were there so we ate in The Brasserie. It was very busy, but they had a great system where they will text you when a table is free, so we just went to the bar and sat in one of the many areas. The food was incredible and service was second to none. Breakfast in morning was excellent, dining room has amazing views. The leisure centre just fab. Beautifull and relaxing. My only complaint is we only had one night! We'll be back!!

We recently stayed at the Europe Hotel, what a wonderful, delightful, Hotel. The views from our room were nothing less than breathless, amazing food, service, nothing was too much trouble. The Spa was second to none. A special note for the concierge Padraid Daly, a very special person, we would all love to have on our staff. A wonderful personality which resonated to all members of staff he works with, without having to try, he is just natural. We look forward in visiting again soon. Niall and Trish Walsh.
Be the first to ReplyVery Pleasant and Relaxing
Very Relaxing and excellent food and very pleasant staff. Room very clean and comfortable. Pool area very nice but challenging to get a Free Bed around 5pm as many are in pool for extended time chatting. Maybe a Policy of not leaving Towels on Beds is necessary. Staff need to be on duty to monitor same as they didn’t do anything to help source beds even when asked. I observed many other people having similar issues. I was surprised when I asked for water to take medication at Breakfast to be charged €3.50 for it. As we were not seated in main area of Panorama I didn’t know there was water unit available . On our second morning I observed Water unit. Overall Lovely weekend with great scenery but a little overpriced.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely recommend!
My friend and I stayed here for 4 nights in August 2023. Over the years we have each been to and experienced many hotels with their Spas and I have to say this was truly a gem of a trip! I should start by saying that upon the advice of the hotel when you receive your booking confirmation, we had preemptively already booked treatments in ESPA a good few months before we arrived and that is definitely something I can't stress enough, you need to book ahead due to demand since the treatments are so fantastic they are popular. It is important to read your booking confirmation email and all the useful information the hotel includes with it because it really does make your stay much more seamless to be prepared. We arrived on a Sunday, from the moment we pulled up the service and general ambience was 5 star. We were checked in with no delays whatsoever, the car was parked and the bags were taken to our room whilst we received the room keys and whatnot. Unfortunately I cannot recall the name of the lovely young lady who facilitated this at the time but anytime we spoke to reception about any issue Padraig and the team could not do enough for you and all with a positive attitude and always a genuine smile. (Even with the amount of what I deemed 'silly questions' they really went above and beyond to answer any question you may have as thoroughly as possible.) We chose to stay in a Superior Lakeview Room, you can take everything in the room description on their website as fact, the views were stunningly beautiful, the balcony was indeed oversized, the bathroom and room as a whole was extremely comfortable and spacious. The cleaning staff during our stay were fantastic and there's not a bad word that could be said about the standard of their work, their discretion, their overall manners and cheery disposition. every single one of them were amazing in what can at times I'm sure be a thankless job they really do contribute to your stay being first class. In terms of ESPA, what can I say, ladies the facilities in the changing rooms are second to none! During our stay we availed of the gym, the spa facilities and treatment rooms. I had an 80 minute intense muscle massage, a 1 hour personalised facial, ultimate hot stone manicure and pedicure. Every treatment, every treatment room and every member of staff we came across was exceptional at their job here. I am absolutely terrible with names at the best of times so apologies if i leave anyone out here but Emily, Leah and Jasmine were professional and wonderful, so friendly and it was lovely to get to know them in the brief time pre and post treatment, very kind of them to recommend various things for us to do in the local area and provide a bit of local knowledge. Like any hotel the Spa facilities can be busy in the pool areas, that said there are plenty of times when it is less busy and you are able to enjoy the magnificent views! Children are allowed in the pool area on the Active level, I believe first thing in the morning and after 6pm they aren't but for most of the day perhaps 9 to 6 they can use the pool. This really was not an issue during our stay, other guests who were there with their children really ensured that children were not running around or screaming etc. I didn't encounter any problems at all in that respect. Riva is located in the Spa level, in the evening we went there for a meal and I have to say the pasta and pizza dishes are phenomenal. I especially liked that you were able to watch the chef make everything from scratch and I can't tell you how beautiful the food and general atmosphere is here both during the day and in the evening. The Brasserie in terms of food and atmosphere is lovely as well, Giorgios was our waiter a few times and again it was always a wonderful experience to have a brief chat when ordering and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast each morning in the Panorama restaurant was impeccable. No matter what you may like there are more than enough options to cover everyone's tastes. Again all of the staff were lovely, I believe Lukmon spoke to us every morning even if we were not seated in his area he made the effort to say good morning, ask how we were and always responded to us when we said cheerio. Again wonderful to see that staff would recognise you and go that extra mile to make your experience just that much more personal. We frequented the Bar and the Lounge moreso than the Brassiere Bar, mainly because we enjoyed the atmosphere there slightly more than the Brassiere which seemed to be a bit busier mainly as it adjoins the restaurant and people obviously wait there and have a drink whilst waiting on a table. Certainly the Bar and Lounge are more than comfortable and it was lovely having the choice depending on the mood, I believe there were sporting events shown on a tv in the bar one evening and there was also live music on one of the nights during our stay. Every single view from every window of the hotel is stunning, I also availed of the complimentary horse riding, something I haven't done for many years. The girls in the stables are genuinely lovely, you can see that the horses are so well looked after and it was an enjoyable experience to be around them. We headed into town on one afternoon and again it was so nice to see the local area, highlights for us were Gino's Gelato and Killarney Duck Store! Also if you do drive into town it is very easy to get parked and everything is handy to access. We are heading back in a few weeks this time we plan to stay for a bit longer. Hoping to experience the local St Patricks fesitivies and enjoy our stay just as much as we did last time! Absolutely cannot recommend the Europe enough!

Big thanks to Mathew in Guest Relations. He was very professional in solving my problem. Everybody from car attendants, bar staff and restaurant staff are all very knowledgeable and very helpful. Definetly looking forward to revisiting this fine hotel.

Once more the Europe Hotel and Spa excel themselves...food in all 3 restaurants, beverages, the indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis, the pool and as for the treatments in the spa.....heavenly. But above and beyond are the staff....all of them, but a special mention to Emanuel in the Brassiere and Conor in the bar....exceptional.
Be the first to ReplyBabymoon trip
We visited the europe Hotel from the 14th to the 16th of February. This hotel has been a dream of ours for years and we finally decided to treat ourselves for our babymoon. When we arrived we went to the lounge which serves a smaller menu than the brasserie bar. I ordered a Mediterranean chicken ciabatta which was probably one of the worst sandwiches I've ever had. It consisted of a whole dry chicken breast, lettuce and some tomato puree. I ordered another option in the end which was 6 chicken nuggets which came to a cost of €13. You'd imagine a 5 star hotel would have a chef with more imagination than this but no this is all normal at the europe. On the first night we were were woken up out of our sleep due to building works that were going on above us. We could hear hammering and carpets being ripped up. Not what you want after paying so much for a stay! I made a complaint and was told I'd receive a phonecall. After 30 minutes passed I went down to find the manager myself and he gave us a room upgrade which was gorgeous and we had a perfect sleep on night 2 but still a major inconvenience that we had to pack all of our stuff to move to another room. We went to the riva Italian restaurant and I ordered the gambas con pan. It didn't state in the menu that there was chorizo in the dish which you can't eat when pregnant. This is a serious error in my opinion and it shows the lack of care from the chef. We waited 20 minutes to receive a dessert menu after asking for one but in the end they gave us dessert complimentary as the experience was so bad! Some good points were the hotel sent up some chocolate covered strawberries and chocolates for our babymoon, the spa and spa treatments were gorgeous and the brasserie restaurant at night was very good. In my opinion the hotel isn't worth the price point because the food and service isn't up to standard.
Be the first to ReplyThe best in Ireland
The Europe is just the most amazing hotel in Ireland. We stayed in July 2023 and I wish I lived closer so we could visit more often! The room, the food, the staff, the spa, the views.. I cannot rate them highly enough. Breakfast is always a great measure of a hotel and in the height of the season it was flawless. I was especially impressed by the presentation of the staff throughout with the females having neat and similar hairstyles. Just a small thing that adds to the class of the hotel. The pony trek was a lovely complimentary service and the grounds are just stunning for walks. We can't wait to visit again.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding & Highly Recommended !
While we've been a number of times, it had slipped off our radar during covid and this was our first trip since then and it was 'Outstanding' on all fronts. From the greeting on arrival; the swift/efficient check-in; beautiful lake view room; lunch; brunch; dinner & breakfast all served with a smile and prepared delightfully together with the leisure facilities - all top class !. Special mention (from the Missus) to Jasmine for the superb Spa Treatment - she enjoyed it so much and not just the treatment but also the great chat. Need to mention the entertainment in the bar on Valentines night by the two brothers (Aidan & Sean) aka Jukebox; they put on such a fantastic show and had the whole bar rocking - Fair Play lads.. was so much fun !. If you're looking for a really special treat in an amazing 5 Star Hotel (without the 'stuffiness'); this is absolutely 100% your spot to book.. you won't regret it !.. Enjoy !!..
Be the first to ReplyNot even close to being a 5 Star Experience.
This evening was booked nine days before, we arrived at the restaurant, no one to greet us. Give the name of our booking, we were told nothing booked. under the name provided. after several moments, we were told to go back to the bar and they will provide us a table later. Food, only average service poor coldplate for hot food. Not a great five star experience.

Unique experience on our short stay, and specially the Riva restaurant made it outstanding. Craving for Mediterranean cuisine, we had the chance to have delicious dinner at this restaurant. Out Maitre D, Simina, knew exactly what to recommend us, and she was excellent at pairing it up with the perfect wine. Highly recommended to have the Zarzuela de Pescado y Mariscos and the vegan French apple&almond cake. Unforgettable night !

Great dining experience at “ Riva “ restaurant! Food taste and presentation was excellent! My husband had the lamb moussaka and I had the seafood platter for main course! Highly recommended dishes! The vibe brings back memories of the Mediterranean! Our Maitre D , Simina, was soo knowledgeable and professional! We absolutely loved our wine choices! Excellent service was provided! Would definitely return to Riva for dinner!
Be the first to ReplyNice hotel but not 5 star
Pros: - Staff were very friendly and attentive. Service in general was excellent. - I had a facial in the spa and it was lovely and relaxing. - Cocktails and food were nice (we had some issues, however) - Lobby and other common hotel areas are beautiful. The lobby and Panorama restaurant have great views of the lake. -Breakfast was great. Lots of options for vegetarians. Cons: - We booked a lakeside room and were disappointed with the view. We were in room 174 and only had a proper view of the lake when lying in bed, otherwise our view was mostly of the hotel grounds. I felt it was unfair that our room was the same price as rooms that had a full lake view. - Our room was just okay. It was quite drab and basic, definitely not 5 star. It was not worth the 440 per night we paid for it. Some of the furniture was quite worn (e.g. scratched) and the furniture was dated. We got two robes and one of them was fluffy and soft but the other one looked old and quite threadbare. Someone had also clearly spilled tea or coffee out on the balcony and it hadnt been cleaned up. Our Nespresso machine wouldn’t turn on at first. We tried it in a different socket and it turned on but still didn’t work. I rang reception and was told I needed to fill the water container to the very top. This wouldn’t be standard for a nespresso machine and there were no instructions to do this in the room. One of the sockets and the machine itself is obviously in need of repair/replacement and staff are aware of this, yet this hasn’t happened. -There are separate spa relaxation rooms/thermal suites for men and women. So if you’ve booked a treatment you can’t relax in the spa thermal suite with your partner of the opposite gender. We weren’t aware of this beforehand and found this disappointing as we’d have liked to spend the time together. You can use the thermal suites together downstairs in the main leisure centre but it’s extremely busy. - There were lots of kids running around the hotel, in particular the leisure centre. Not super relaxing. I was under the impression the Europe is a relaxing spa hotel but it obviously caters to families as well. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I wasn’t aware of how family-oriented it would be from their website or brochure. Just an FYI if you’re coming as a couple. - We had lunch in the casual restaurant when we first arrived. My partner ordered a chicken Caesar salad and when he cut into the chicken it was pink and undercooked. The staff were extremely apologetic and his food was free, but really, that shouldn’t have happened anywhere, let alone a 5 star hotel. Overall it’s a nice hotel but definitely not 5-star and not worth the price.

This place hits different . From the service, to the facilities , to the views , everything equally superb . My husband and myself stayed here for the weekend and it was flawless from start to finish. We had a lake view room. The room was stunning, but the view !!! Amazing. We had booked the private suite in ESPA as it was a special birthday and we've never seen anything like it, such a treat and the girls that worked there were just fab. We ate in the Panoramic Restaurant on the Sat night and the food was excellent, as was the service. The Bars in the hotel are great with a lovely ambience to them. Unlike other 5* hotels, there is a more relaxed atmosphere, with the staff being very down to earth , but maintaining a very friendly and professional manner . A very special place to enjoy with friends, family and loved ones. Something for everyone. The outdoor, infinity, heated pool is spectacular and all guests can use the facilities without prior booking. Dont hesitate, book some luxury for your next special occasion !!
Be the first to ReplyMini moon in Killarney
We went here on our mini moon in early February. Our stay was amazing from start to finish. We had lunch and dinner on the first day in the brasserie. Second night in the Panorama restaurant. The food on all occasions was fantastic. At breakfast there was a choice of table service or buffet. I had a treatment in the Spa , the spa area was pristine and the beautician very professional. On both days we went to the pool area where we could avail of the all the thermal suite areas. Availing of it after 6pm was ideal as there were no children allowed after time. At all times the staff were friendly and service was top class. This is the sort of hotel that you park your car outside and do not need it until you checkout again.

Was in Killarney for the night and was in the mood for a dining dining experience so decided to try the Panorama restaurant at the Europe resort. The hotel seems modern and well presented with a chic look the entrance into the Panorama has a really cool art light decor. The restaurant itself is tastefully decorated with lots of tables but still with a sense of space. Only downside is there is no outside lighting so for a restaurant called the Panorama there is actually no views once it gets dark. Kay was my server and service overall was efficient and friendly if a little formal, it’s fine dining to be fair, and couldn’t be faulted. I started off with the house selection of breads , all delicious, and a glass of Riesling a little bit sweet with a clean taste. I had the prawn Cannelloni tasty but a little underwhelming as the flavours were a little bit muddled so the biggest impression was richness followed by a half dozen oysters with a shallot vinaigrette that was simply amazing fresh and light. For mains I went with the fillet of local Angus beef and it was fine one of the better fillets I have had and cooked a perfect medium rare but it’s been years since I have had fillet and I had forgotten that while I love the tenderness just flavour wise I prefer sirloin, it was fine but after the amazing oysters wised I had stayed with seafood for the main. To finish I had the cheese board and a Offaly LBV port all Delicious and the port was great though I was stuffed enough that even though I lingered as long as I could I left some behind me. My bill was a total of 137 got two glasses of wine, a port, a bottle of sparkling water, essentially two starters, the fillet and the cheese board to finish on there side they give you there selection of homemade breads with homemade butter, a amuse bouche ( a goats cheese panacotta ) and a sorbet before mains. Price wise found it very reasonable all things considered. Quality wise exactly as expected for a fine dining restaurant while there was nothing Truely disappointing with the meal it was a little underwhelming with nothing outside the oysters being truly stand out. Would come again if in the area.
Be the first to ReplyChildren everywhere
This hotel is definitely far from 5 star, the minute we walked into the lobby there were two women chatting to each other with 2 buggies and toddlers crying. We checked in and on our walk to our room the corridor was just filled with the noise of children, down our corridor children were playing at the end of the corridor in the hall. The room was pretty basic again the view was nice but definitely not wow, and I was just not blown away. We attended the Brasserie for a drink as we had a reservation in the Panorama the fine dining restaurant at 7, again families coming with lots of small kids, buggies babies crying. The only bonus about the Panorama was there were no children there. Dinner was nice but definitely not worth the price. The following morning there was a child on their ipad in the corridor with the volume up which could be heard in our room. The entire stay including drinks cost 644€ only that we had a voucher towards some of it, it was not worth any of this price. One night B and B and one evening meal. Absolutely disgusted that the prices they charge for what appeared to me was a childrens resort. There was absolutely nothing 5 star about our experience. I note previous people have referred to the children and have been informed its a family friendly resort. I think you should have children in the photos then on your website and in your catalogue as that is a more realistic hotel than anything exclusive or luxurious. having young children myself my idea of escaping into tranquilness and a stress free hotel doesnt involve toddlers and children running riot around a hotel.

Very busy . Food and room’s excellent as usual but every room must be sold. Pity no gym class like use to have previously. Service etc was excellent. Midterm and Valentine’s Day rolled into one . Was looking forward to doing some gym classes after arriving Thursday. But only virtual available
