The Nines Portland Reviews from The Last Year
View was amazing, glass ledges so you could see everything.
I'd go just for the view alone.
Concierge who care
The hotel was fantastic and the concierge made it even more comfortable and convenient. We began our trip communicating with the concierge before we arrived and had her personal help all the way through our stay. Thank you Cruz!! We will be back…
Impeccable service from all departments!!
We stayed here on part of our trip for my wife's birthday. I can't say enough about the staff. Very friendly and helpful. When we got to our room they had left a special surprise dessert for my wife. It was delicious! Patrick, one of the hotel concierges, who had great tips on where to eat. He also booked us an in-room couples massage once evening. Exactly what we needed after a long day of hiking. Thanks Patrick! You have to stop by the Urban Farmer bar and request James' special Old Fashion. Thanks James! One of the best I've had.
Beautiful Hotel & Amazing Staff
We stayed here for our anniversary. The hotel is beautiful and conveniently located. Prior to our stay I spoke with the Concierge, Cruz and Patrick. They provided wonderful options for our stay in Portland. Front desk staff member, Janessa was always accommodating. If you go to Urban Farmer, be sure to ask for McKenzie. She was always a joy.
Absolutely love this boutique style hotel.
From the chandeliers to the tiffany blue paint on the walls. It's so vintage and cute. The crab omelette was delicious!!
**I would like to point out that nobody from the hotel
**I would like to point out that nobody from the hotel management staff has reached out... 5 star?!?! Laughable! The only redeeming feature of this hotel is the gym, but even there, the equipment often malfunctions. The hotel's style falls short of 5-star standards. The showers have inadequate water pressure, and the unsealed windows make it feel as though you're sleeping outdoors. Hallway noise echoes into the rooms, and the carpet and furniture are quite dingy. The food is merely mediocre. This hotel should not be labeled as luxury or considered 5 stars.
Wonderful staff full of great recommendations!
I came in early for a work trip and love staying at the Nines. The hotel is always immaculately maintained, the Urban Farmer restaurant is delicious, and the rooms are very comfortable and roomy. This trip I had the whole afternoon ahead and upon checking in, asked Clint Kuper, the Guest Services Manager who was at the front desk about getting out for a hike. I had done a quick chat.gpt request to plan a day around Portland and had read about some hiking trails nearby. Based on that my plan was to go to Angels Rest Trail about 30 min away. What he told me next is proof that AI can never replace the Human element! He recommended that if I had the time, to go a bit further out to Silver Falls in Silverton and hike the Trail of 10 Falls. He was so spot on! I was further, about 1 hour out of Portland but it was so worth it and absolutely exceeded anything I had in mind. I will never forget it. I have so enjoyed every visit to The Nines in Portland. Like Clint, the team is friendly, full of wonderful recommendations for enjoying Portland and the surrounding areas and just lovely to be around. Clint thank you for being so wonderful!
Nine stars out of nine for the Nines
From our six year old: “We liked the living room with all the couches so much. Mackenzie is so great and is the amazing-est helper ever. The ice cream was so good. She gave me her lucky pokeman charm. The hotel has very good hide-and-seek spots, and the bird stairs were super chirpy. There is a hidden library with the pool game.”
A Home Away From Home in Portland!
My experience traveling to the Nines for a recent work trip was a special one from the moment I walked in the hotel. The design is modern and spacious, and the room was impeccably clean. Every employee I encountered was warm and welcoming, and I really loved the lobby/atrium area, which had so many seating options that it never felt crowded, even during busy times. It was a perfect place to take a call, work solo, co-work, or have a casual meeting. Patrick, the Concierge Supervisor, took wonderful care of us and saw to all of our needs, and largely because of this 5-star service, I'd highly recommend the hotel to any other business or personal travelers. Some highlights in terms of amenities include: the Urban Farmer restaurant within the hotel, which can easily accommodate vegan substitutions and has a delicious mushroom risotto; the gym area, which had a whole wall full of free weights, several treadmills and multiple Peloton bikes; and their conference rooms, which are comfortable, well-equipped from a tech standpoint, and have amazing plant-based breakfast options. The Nines had everything we needed and more, and I will not be staying anywhere else next time I'm in Portland!
Perfect for a Thrilling Romantic Date
I picked the Nines to re-connect with a really lovely romantic partner. I saw the chic interior decor online and imagined it would be the perfect venue. A few days prior to the meeting Cruz Malochwiej, from the Concierge desk, wrote me with a list of great available add-ons. Getting both flowers and a mini Birthday cake went well with the theme of my date, so I asked for those in an e-mail. She got back to me instantly to indicate my requests would be handled. When I arrived at the hotel, all staff were super friendly, the room was immaculate with decor as expected--wall colors like the signature Tiffany jewelry bags--so chic. It was so nice to have the cake and flowers already arranged. My super hot companion loved the room and she commented on the rich, indulgent colors, cleanliness and romantic vibe. The cake and flowers were also a hit and added a nice touch to an occasion with a lot of touching. While it's beyond the scope of this review to provide much more detail, the chic room and add-ons enhanced a very mutually gratifying evening. Thanks so much to all the staff at the Nines, and especially Cruz M. for being so thoughtful. I won't hesitate to stay here when I next need the perfect place to make a romantic memory.
The Nines - great for work and pleasure!
I was in Portland for a work trip and had the pleasure of staying at The Nines. From the moment I arrived the service and attention to detail was over the top. Check in was a breeze, and a colleague had worked with Patrick McNearney and the concierge team on some amazing welcoming touches as well as ensuring our comfort throughout the stay. During our stay (my wife joined me on the trip - we also tacked on a few days for our own enjoyment of Portland) all of our needs were met. The fitness center is better than some gyms I have paid to attend. The on-site dining at Urban Farmer had wonderful cocktails, wine, and locally sourced dishes. The meeting room we used was bright and comfortable; the tech functioned flawlessly; and again staff were there to check in on any and all of our needs. While I was sad to leave, I can guarantee I'll be staying at The Nines on my return to Portland.
Amazing property with a few annoyances
We just finished an Oregon road trip and stayed at the Nines in Portland. The property is in an amazing location, the staff is friendly and kind and the rooms appointed very well. We also got an upgrade as a Gold Elite, which was much appreciated. My biggest issue with the property stems from the destination amenity fee, which is $30 daily on top of the points I already used to pay for the stay. One of the things covered by this is a credit at the in house restaurant but with $30 omelets, that limit gets consumed with just one dish. Even that would be fine, but everything we got at the Urban farmer was almost inedible. It is not good, and being in a foodie city like Portland, makes this even more annoying. Overall I thought the Nines is a great hotel , with a few of the annoyances listed above.
The Perfect Stay in Portland
Highly recommended!! My colleagues and I met at The Nines for our business retreat & strategy planning week, and I couldn't recommend this hotel more. Every need we had was met (usually taken care of before we even asked, thanks to the unbelieve customer service provided by Patrick McNearney and staff). The food was superb, and the spaces were beautiful: atrium for socializing and coworking, bedrooms, and meeting rooms. Definitely coming back! Thank you!
I have just attended a conference in this hotel.
A few days prior, I have called the hotel and inquired them about parking. I was told that conference attendees are charged a discounted price of $28 for valet parking (which is the only type of parking available). When it was time for me to pick up my vehicle, I was charged $63.99 instead for 6hr of parking. Across the street, there was a public parking for $5/ day (it was "special"). I am disappointed with lies.
The Nine's Luxury Hotel is and was an amazing place and
The Nine's Luxury Hotel is and was an amazing place and stay. Janessa made us feel welcome from our first phone call from California, to our arrival on June 19th. We experienced tire challenges along the way and called the hotel to ensure our arrival although it would later than expected. Janessa again, made us feel sooooo welcome and at ease knowing that our room was secured, clean, and ready for us when we arrive. Our arrival was very pleasant and the staff from the front bell service, to checking in with Michael was extremely pleasing and seamless. Michael was very attentive and prompt with helping us out. Janessa was still on shift when we arrived around 10:15pm. Janessa introduced herself and ensured that we had an amazing room facing the water and the bridges for us and the kiddos to see. The welcome basket with snacks and a kind note welcoming us and mentioning our interesting and challenging trip was very thoughtful and made it that more difficult to ever want to leave such a wonderful hotel with such staff and care as was displayed and given by Mrs. Janessa. The hotel food was amazing at the Urban Farmer and the speak easy style library was a hit for our girls. They were sure to break away and have their own time at the library and enjoy the books and pool table away from mom and dad. The Birdsong chandelier and stairs that lead down to the conference center was a major setting and theme for about 40 minutes of photo shooting with my wife and the girls. We had to ensure that we got just the right angle and photos with at least a few good shots from the +/- 800 photos that we must have taken. The Roof Top was great for photos and for dinner that evening as well. The patio was very nice and enjoyable and the view and selfie photo ops with the city background was exceptional. Thank you all again for making this such a great stay as this was our first time to Oregon and we were in town for a wedding. A huge thank you again to Mrs. Janessa for making this a wonderful visit to Portland and to the Nine's. Traveling patron's, make sure to ask for Janessa at the front counter, best host and hospitality ever. Thank you again, The Berkleys' 6/21/24
A nice hotel in a great location, but check your bill, they
A nice hotel in a great location, but check your bill, they overcharged us for both valet services (which is exorbitant at $60 a night) and the bill for our breakfast. You have to comb through the bill line by line and double check. Not cool.
Looking for an elegant and luxury hotel in Portland - the
Looking for an elegant and luxury hotel in Portland - the Nines is the spot. Our room came with elegant decor, furniture, and even came with a chandelier. My 5 year old said wow haha (we were very fortunate and got upgraded to a suite). Restaurant at the top of the hotel (Departure) has a super cool vibe (sushi / Asian fusion / drinks). Great spot to hang out with friends / date night. It does get busy so I would suggest making reservations.
5 STARS!!! My husband attended a conference in Portland
5 STARS!!! My husband attended a conference in Portland this February and I joined him. This is an outstanding Marriott hotel. It was similar to a boutique hotel - it has so many pluses. Everyone on staff was just "first class". Some of the names that I wanted to mention are Molly, Laura, Eric, Bradley, Anandi, and James. Everyone was warm and gracious. We just love the Urban Farmer steakhouse restaurant. The menu selections were just wonderful. Eggs Benedict were a real hit for breakfast! I loved the coffee, too.
Awesome!
Kris was amazing! Thank you for being so quick and amazing! I really appreciate you and all of the hard work you put in for our stay! I will most definitely be coming back as the service and speed/quality was outstanding. Thank you again so much!
Great for the business travelers
Another great experience at The Nines! Rooms are always clean and love the vibe, especially at Departure. Valet service was beyond exceptional this trip. Trying to get out for meetings in the morning is always hectic, but Tim and James made sure to ask about my schedule in advance and had my car ready (and warm!) by the time I needed to head out each morning. Greatly appreciated and look forward to returning!!
Exceptional staff and delightful stay!
Cruz Malochwiej and his entire team were an absolute delight and made the stay extra special! We will be back again and rave to all of our friends how wonderful The Nines is and especially the staff. Exceptional hospitality isn't as common as it used to be in any hotel or restaurant these days, so when we experience it we are extremely grateful and aware. Thanks again for a great stay!
Nice Surprise
I have not been to the Nines since pre pandemic. I was looking forward to the club level with the cocktails, chef designed appetizers and the ridiculous deserts! But, it closed during the shutdown and has not reopened ( Please bring it back!) The front desk person, Anadi, saw how disappointed i was and had fresh backed cookies along with locally sourced chocolates sent to my room. What a nice surprise! This was Ritz Carlton (pre Marriott) service, Well done! I will be back. Plus the valets were all outstanding and helpful!
Excellence....
I had a recent extended stay at The Nines in Portland. I want to give a shout to the following Valet and Bell staff: Matt, Jason, Scott, Paul, Mike, Nick, Tim, Matthew, Kris, Aman, Julia, and Arash. Yes, it is a long list but I interacted with each one on multiple occasions and each time I was welcomed back by name and with great warmth. Being greeted by this team at least twice a day often multiple times a day allowed me to have a connection to the hotel beyond the excellent front desk service and wonderful room. So often Valet and Bell service is reduced to a simple transaction, the service at The Nines is 10 steps above.
Great Food, Great Service, Great Location
I planned a surprise stay at The Nines with my girlfriend, and suffice it to say, the experience was worth the price! Their staff is incredibly friendly (as to be expected from a 5-star establishment), and the concierge assisted me in setting up some special arrangements upon check in. Shoutout Patrick. I must recommend dining at BOTH of the on-site restaurants, Departure and Urban Farmer. They both had exceptional options, and I can't imagine staying here and not getting food at either place. I also have to recommend utilizing your free tickets to the Portland Art Museum! It only comes with 2 tickets, so if you have a family, you may still need to purchase additional tickets, but the Museum was a great time! They are currently in the process of adding an entirely new building, which should be finished by the end of this year. The hotel is conveniently located, and I ended up walking everywhere that we went for the weekend! Depending on the weather, this may be a worse idea, but it is certainly within walking distance to many cool spots! Thanks again for the wonderful stay.
Treat yourself and book here!
My mother and I had a lovely time at The Nines. The welcoming flowers, chocolate covered strawberries, and the attentive service every where we went made our stay impossible to forget. I am already dreaming about our next stay. Our concierge, Cruz and her hospitable team created such a wonderful atmosphere for us. The beds were comfy, bathrooms roomy, and our dogs were beyond welcomed.
Service to the nines
We had a fantastic time staying at The Nines. Leading up to our stay, the concierge Cruz Malochwiej reached out by email, providing some great information about the hotel and asking if I needed anything. I was able to arrange for birthday balloons, flowers and cake to be in the room. The check in process was smooth, and our room was one of our favorite we’ve ever had in Portland, and we’ve stayed in a lot of them. The hotel was able to take us to our dinner reservation in their courtesy car which was very nice. One thing to be aware of is that the mini fridge is full of beverages to purchase. We had stopped to get some charcuterie and had to search for empty space to store it in the fridge. This also led to us being charged for some items that we had not taken from the fridge. I would have to assume there is some sort of scale or something. I thought it was going to be a hassle to have the charges removed, but the front desk removed them with no questions asked. We would definitely stay at The Nines again, it was a great experience.
Dependable and Luxurious
Best hotel in Portland. Great staff, good food, comfortable rooms, great beds, central downtown location - we'll keep coming back. even the valet team is great. they reach out before your stay and help arrange any dinners or tours or coordinate flower delivery.
A wonderful and relaxing stay
A phenomenal stay at the nines, ultra luxurious and Cruz our concierge ensured we had everything we wanted in our room on arrival and assisted us through our stay. Would recommend to anyone travelling to Portland. We are in Portland often and have tried numerous hotels, this is hands down, our favorite.
The Nines hotel is personally responsible for my car being
The Nines hotel is personally responsible for my car being stolen. They gave my car to a woman I had met that same night. She had poisoned me stole my computer and the keys to my car. I cannot speculate as to how she convinced the valet staff to release my car to her. She said her name was "Bae Miles". She didnt provide ID and her name was not on the room. I also booked the room for 1 guest. I am a male in my 30s for context. I had to find out on my car had been stolen, let me elaborate. When I checked out they took my valet ticket and never brought my car out. 15, 30, 1 hour goes by and no car. No update from the staff. They then brought out her busted car which she had valeted herself. I did not have her ticket which is even more confusing. When I notified the valet staff of thier mistake they played dumb and immediately tried to place blame on me. They showed zero concern and chose to mock me, tease me and let each patron at the hotel know what had happened in a derogratory fashion. They were making fun of me in a moment of durress. Their security was equally unethical and lacked any sort of moral compass. Let me rephrase that, he didn't do anything to get my car back, showed zero initiative to the duties of his job as head of hotel security but said a few supprtive statements. Hey bud, I don't need your sympathy, I need you to get you immature culprits in check and call the police, lets start there. It was a situation in which I am the one dealing with an emergency while also being the adult in the room. I had to repeat myself over and over and over again asking for his assistance in retrieving my car. The car had been gone for over 24 hours at this point and they felt no motivation to let me know that. They even attempted to charge me for the additional days even though my car was no longer parked there, probably a clerical mistake but when in that type of experience small details like that become painful arrows of disresepect. Back to the head of security, all he wanted was a written statement from me on a form that could fit one paragraph. I was also so visibly distraught that my hands were shaking and he refused to write for me. There was one shining light who was a female member of the hotel management team. Thank you very much, you are an angel and you know who you are. That will never be forgotten. She at least had the decency to apologize and empathize. The rest were a bunch of bullies who will have thier day in civil and or criminal court. I would highly recommend that member of your staff call me as soon as possible so we can begin mediation. I seek monetary damages for the cost of my car, as it had been taken to a chop shop(I later retrieved it without any assistance from the hotel). I also seek monetary damages for the emotional abuse and mental torture your staff members administered that day. Shame on you. I am still dealing with PTSD from that day and was in fear for quite some time after. If it matters your room was small but designed with class and sophistication. Your hotel is ecclectic and the restuarants were all of high quality and the staff members outside of security and valet/bellhop were pleasant. I checked in to your hotel on 7/6/2022, my initials are G C and the last four of my card I used to book it are 7881. You have enough to find me. Make haste as I am interviewing legal counsel for the pending civil lawsuit.
We enjoyed every aspect of our experience at the Nines.
The food was surprisingly awesome. We rarely eat out because I prepare much better food than most restaurants. The Urban Farmer left our tastebuds singing with every item we ordered for dinner and breakfast. Our room was perfect in every way. The bed was simply heavenly. I've not slept that well in a very long time. We would definitely come her again for a romantic outing.
Loved the hotel.
Beautiful, elegant and very comfortable. Such a delightful stop during our short visit to Portland. Fell for the Tiffany blue color theme of the room. The lobby bar has fantastic vibe - beautiful music and gorgeous interior. Everything would've been perfect should have the restroom was cleaner. Didn't meet expectation given it's a luxury hotel. Shout out to Jaylen and Tim from the valet parking - wonderful service, much appreciate!

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!
Worked flawlessly!
Worked so well! I was a bit nervous, but everything went very smoothly. purchased the reservation, and got into the restaurant seamlessly.
Love this app!
So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
