Excellent food as well. Ambiance was well decorated.

Wanted to try kangaroo, but after traveling all the way Sydney port I was told it's closed. However, the concierge at the hotel told me about Pony on the Rocks which was pretty close. The kangaroo and other foods there were 5 stars.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic experience.
I went here my final night in Australia and had the kangaroo skewer. It was perfection; the meat was perfectly cooked. My sides were also fantastic; I ordered a side of Mac n cheese, and it was creamy and cheesy. The service was also attentive and were proactive in taking care of anything I needed. I wish I went here before my last night because I definitely would have frequented again. Be sure to make a reservation because this place gets packed.

The Meat & Wine Company in Darling Harbor, Sydney is a must-visit restaurant for those looking to try the unique kangaroo skewer. The presentation of the dish is impressive, with a huge skewer showcasing perfectly cooked medium rare filet of kangaroo. The tender and flavorful kangaroo meat is certainly a highlight. Additionally, the restaurant offers a great selection of wines by the glass, allowing patrons to pair their meal with different varietals including some yummy Shiraz and cabernet blends. The combination of delicious food, excellent presentation, and the opportunity to explore different wines makes the Meat & Wine Company a fantastic choice for an unforgettable dining experience in Darling Harbor.
Be the first to ReplyVery classy ambience and high quality food.
Nice place for an occasional fancy night out as the prices are high. The quality of the meat is exceptional.

The rib eye steak at the restaurant was delicious, as well as the kangaroo meat grilled to an excellent taste. Also tasted their cocktails, which tasted pretty good.

All of it. Eat here. Make a reservation. Could be a smidge pricey depending on your budget, but 100% worth it. Wine selection is epic...came back later for take away dessert...also wonderful! Side note, ambiance is really cool, we had an early reservation, 5:30pm, was a bit empty, we were fine in casual clothing and didn't feel out of place. Later, when picking up dessert, the place was slammed busy, and I would have felt more comfortable in slightly nicer clothing.

We ordered a bottle of wine upstairs at the same hotel and come down to have dinner. Ragab stated we aren't allowed to eat here after being at the bar on the top floor. Ragab is the rudest person we have met at I Sydney. Apparently good steak but horrible horrible hospitality!! Do not waste your time or money here! Ragab exact word were my face was too squinty. that's just face.

Service is ok. Ambiance is great. Would recommend for sure. Steak were excellent
Be the first to ReplyI really haven't been that disappointed in years.
Overall experience was meh. First , my bad for not checking their menu before sitting down. We wanted to try kangaroo, but it had been removed from the current menu. Our wine was brought to the table in dirty glasses. Both glasses had lint, a hair , and some thing small and white clinging to the inside. Sent them back to receive two glasses that still had lint. After the food arrived, we were only checked on once. Glad we didn't need a second glass of wine or dessert. Empty glass and empty plate sat on the table for a good 15 plus minutes. The table was also so sticky. The upside- the local Pinot Noir for $17 a glass was delicious. The totally new to me, Biltong was tasty and interesting. Biltong is a form of air dried meat from South Africa. Related to beef jerky in that they are both spiced, dried meats. The typical ingredients are malt vinegar, sugar, dry ground chili pepper and cumin. The rump eye, $32, seemed a little tough cutting. Ambience was nice- dark, old school historic dining room.
Be the first to ReplyIt was my second time at this restaurant.
First time was before the pandemic and I was disappointed by the food and the service. It wasn't even worth my writing a review for this place. Last week my friend took me to this restaurant and I was quite impressed by the difference from my first experience here. Steak was tender and tasty. My favorite part was a dessert. Service was quite friendly and accommodating. I love the location of the restaurant, one of my favorite neighborhoods in town.

The restaurant was full and I was only able to get a booking at 5.45pm for dinner. The server was knowledgeable and made such great recommendations that we had a really lovely meal. His choice of Cabernet Sauvignon to go with the steak and ribs was very good too. As we couldn't decide on which dessert, the finale was a fab choice to share as it had the tiramisu, creme brûlée, sticky date pudding and the lava cake. Nothing but crumbs left...
Be the first to ReplyWasn't that impressed for a "steakhouse ".
Although the food was good and the service was great
Be the first to ReplyThe location is superb, right at the circular quay.
The service is mediocre, there was a bug in my salad and the waiter took a long time to change it.there was barely any table service we had to track down the waiters to refill water. The food. Not impressed. We ordered wagyu steak, steak and prawn skewers, prime steak, a green salad and Panna cotta. Everything is average, the skewers were burnt, the first salad had a bug in it. The dining environment was nice, especially for a hot summer day. We were disappointed for the food.

I had the Shorthorn Ribeye and I customized my farm salad with blue cheese and feta cheese. You get a choice of chips or salad with the steaks so the prices are quite reasonable at around $50AUD. I paired with a couple glasses of Pinot Noir and I didn't pay more than $75AUD. I was going to get the NY Steak but after I asked my waiter for recommendations I went with the Ribeye and I was not disappointed. Some parts cut like butter and more on the inside it only took a back-and-forth cut or two to cut another piece off. I would recommend this place for any steak lovers from the states. From my personal perspective, the US has the best steaks in the world outside of Japanese A5 Wagyu which is more like eating butter than a piece of meat from what I hear. Took a few minutes to get another glass of red wine a long with better steaks in the US I give it 4.5 stars. I do recommend this place.

I gave it a 5-star given the money and the quality of the food. I came to this resultant for the kangaroo skewer, and although I'm not a big fan of super lean meat like kangaroo meat, the dish itself is good: the meat is cooked to medium rare, which prevents the meat from getting too dry. I really like the onion rings and the potatoes on the side. We also ordered a steak, which is pretty standard and tastes good. The portion of their food is also fairly big compared to the price and given that it's a restaurant inside a hotel.

While in Australia, I did want to try kangaroo at least once. Glad I chose here! Seasoned with bush spice, it was not overly gamey. It was moist and flavorful. I paired with the house wine, cleaver and vine. My husband had the fish and chips and enjoyed it. The restaurant was busy and crowded, but the hostess was very kind and accommodating, as was our server. Many people around us appeared to be enjoying large roasts and steaks as well as large decanters of wine--so the restaurant appears to live up to its name. I do recommend.
Be the first to ReplyVery good restaurant with good ambience and atmosphere.
I ordered the wagyu rump and wife got got the Portuguese chicken. Both came out relatively well and tasted very good. The black garlic butter was almost better than the meat. However the winner of the night was the garlic bread; it was the best thing by far.
Be the first to ReplyWe ate the bar.
The bartender wasn't the friendliest but that was offset by his honesty, which I appreciated, and he was quite attentive compared to some of the other servers I've had at other Sydney restaurants. Had the cauliflower as a starter. That was more like bleh. Had the kangaroo skewer. All pieces but one was easy to cut. Overall enjoyed the meal and would go back for the kangaroo. Old fashion - I've had better. I'd recommend skipping the cocktails and stick with wine.
Be the first to ReplyWent here for dinner last night and was not disappointed.
The calamari is amazing, very light and the sauce is excellent. We had a bone in dry aged rib eye which was once of the best I have ever had. Our waitress who was the best helped us decide and was very friendly. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great piece of meat!

Disappointed as we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at another location. Waited a full hour to never be served two rare filets. After asking several times about our meals we were forced to leave dinner-less in order to not miss our show. Didn't get any sort of apology or word from anyone regarding the inconvenience.
Be the first to ReplyMediocre steak and the service was pathetic.
It took almost 45 minutes after we ordered our first drinks to see if we'd like anything else. Would not recommend
