An oasis in a busy city
As soon as your step into the Lowell you feel completely transported into a tranquil setting seemingly miles away from one of the world's busiest cities. Well appointed rooms (some with fireplaces), garden setting tea time and seemingly endless nooks for relaxing make this our go to spot whenever we come to the the city!

We've stayed at the Lowell for 25+ years, and that about sums it up! With all the five star choices in Manhattan, we found ours, and the Lowell consistently delivers in every aspect that you expect.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing NY Boutique Hotel experience!
Celebrating my mom’s 60th, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay. Very nice hotel, but not stuffy. Staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful.
Be the first to ReplyA culture of service
From the moment of arrival until departure one experiences service that only comes from a great culture. Over the years the ability to maintain this culture is to be admired.

Outstanding in all ways- location, staff, rooms, amenities. Couldn’t recommend the Lowell more highly!
Be the first to ReplyExceptional at every level
Beautiful, small European style hotel in fabulous location for window shopping and more. We were visiting NYC to celebrate a milestone birthday and the attentive, polite staff with an unusual attention to detail, made our stay quite special. Luxuriously appointed guest rooms, gorgeous public areas, exceptional dining, cozy bar, well equipped fitness center (with great snack bars!) and magnificent floral bouquets throughout the hotel. Appreciate the hotel commitment to no plastic bottles. First rate.
Be the first to ReplyTotally first class at the Lowell
Small, elegant, old world, and just fabulous! The staff is very attentive and informative. Very accommodating to your every whim. Great location on the upper east side. I had an entry-level room that I took at the last minute on this trip to New York and must say it was quite lovely. The amenities were the top , and the breakfast was yummy and a warm and inviting small dining room on the second floor floor. I would highly recommend this daily one wanting a total first class experience! I’ll return!

Truly a hidden gem in New York and the upper east side. Amazing service, personalized at every step… intimate and hospitable. Like coming home to your own an amazing apartment in the city.

Superb staff. Well appointed rooms. Wonderful location. Terrific bar and restaurant service. Pricey but not excessively for NY.

The Lowell claims to be a great property. All I can say is do not stay in room 7F. Nothing in the room was appropriate for a five-star hotel.

First time we visited was 30 years ago. It still is my favorite. Great service. Restaurants are very good. Location suits us well!
Be the first to ReplySuperb boutique hotel
Great attentive staff. Nice cozy bar and sitting area. Nice rooms. Great location - 1 block from Central Park.

The Lowell is a lovely boutique hotel on the UE with good proximity to shopping and great restaurants. We highly recommend the Lowell for its location and very attentive staff -- from the front desk to housekeeping and room service. All were top notch!
Be the first to ReplyGreat location. Average service
Great location. Average service. Some rooms need refreshing and some maintenance. Housekeeping not great. Front desk very nice. Bedlinens and blankets could be better. Electrics in room were weird. But amazing location and boutique hotel. Peaceful.
Be the first to ReplySimply the Best Hotel in New York City
We spent last week in NYC - the weather was cold, wet and windy. But when we entered The Lowell we were immediately transported into an atmosphere of comfort and warmth. The hotel has everything you expect in the top NYC hotel - the rooms are beautifully decorated, and each member of staff went out of their way to ensure that our stay was perfect. The Club Room has its own special ambiance, and Jacques Bar offers wonderful cocktails and the best service. We have already made reservations for our next visit - we can't imagine staying anywhere else.
Be the first to ReplyAt 4.5 stars this is the most underrated hotel in NYC
Why did I ever stay anywhere else when in NYC? To be clear, I like quiet, sophisticated well appointed hotels where guest experience/satisfaction are not just words on a website. Our suite had a wood burning fireplace for Pete’s sake! Great food Sublime service Beautiful ambience Do yourself a favour when in NYC stay at this hotel.

A better experience does not exist. The entire staff is thoughtful, professional and friendly. I had a small problem the plumbing in my room and the situation was resolved immediately and professionally and I was moved to a new room. I felt so cared for. I cannot imagine staying anywhere but with The Lowell and I have been coming for over 30 years.

My husband and I have stayed at a number of Upper East Side Hotels and can say that we've found the best. The Lowell is exceptional in every way: service, amenities, the property, the dining...We have already made a reservation to come back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lowell Hotel. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We were welcomed on our arrival with a special drink. Our room was lovely and the dining was delicious. Great location for shopping and restaurants.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic New York Hotel
Recently, we spent a few days at the Lowell with our older grandchildren. If this review had six stars, I would check all six. The staff was extraordinarily accommodating, prompt, neat, and efficient. We had an issue with our departing flight, and they said, "Stay in the room as long as you need to." No effort was made to make us store our luggage with the bellman. It is important to note that it is a boutique hotel and not a major glitzy spot. We have stayed at the Lowell a few times and have been lucky enough to see someone very famous during each stay. It must be the right spot! The Pembroke Room where breakfast is served is elegant, and the food is outstanding. Dinner at Majorelle was very good, although very expensive. If you enjoy well-located, small, quiet hotels, this location, a block and a half from Central Park, is perfect for you.

Absolutely FABULOUS! The hotel is warm, welcoming and comfortable. Such a nice respite to return to after long days walking around in the city. Staff goes out of their way to be kind, accommodating and make you feel like family.

Tucked away in Upper Manhattan, amidst the brownstones on E. 63rd streets, is the Lowell Hotel. It's a hop-skip-and-jump from the fashion houses of Madison Avenue, a few steps from 5th Avenue, Central Park and NYC's most notable museums. I appreciated my spacious, luxuriously designed Lowell room with oak floors, fresh flowers and decor in pale blue and neutral colours. It emanated a residential feel with custom headboards, antique oriental rugs, unique furniture and desk. The massive marbleized bath featured a separate tub and shower. The Lowell has a fleet of dining options. The Majorelle is a Mediterranean inspired eatery couched in a Chateau-like dining room with a petite skylit garden. The menu displayed exciting food fare like Sea scallops with parsnips to Loin of Venison. I selected Snails (in puff pastry), Rack of lamb and a dessert of Chocolate Mousse......a delicious ensemble. Jacques Bar serves light fare and inventive cocktails while the Club Room, a quaint facility, is open to hotel guests only during the day hours serving off a small menu. The Pembroke Room serves a traditional breakfast for guests only. Service is supreme here.......catering to every guest's whim. A spacious in-house fitness centre allowed me to follow my exercise regime on the road. So, if you would like over-the-top accommodations, top-notch dining and a near perfect attraction location.....then try the ........Lowell.........An Elegant Jewel Box.

The Lowell is as close as we will ever come to having a New York townhome. The doorman greets us by name. The Concierge and Front Desk staff welcome us back as if we are old friends. The attention to detail is amazing - beautiful rooms and impeccable housekeeping. We enjoyed dining in Majorelle and cocktails at Jacques Bar. The service in both was excellent. We can’t imagine staying anywhere else in NYC - The Lowell is just perfect.
