The Love. Philadelphia Reviews
Exceeded My Expecations
Wow, wow and Wow. I loved my meal and experience here. They served the best grits and chicken I have ever had anywhere. The grits was an experience all by itself. Looing forward to returning in the future.
OMG sooo good
We have been here multiple times for brunch, lunch and dinner and it has always been wonderful. Todayβs lunch burger was terrific and the shrimp was sublime but the best part was the frozen rose. Canβt wait to go back.
Have to give The Love a Lotta Love!!!
Went in with y wife tonight for the first time. Walked in for 5:30 reservation and were seated immediately. Greeted by our server Dylan who was prompt and professional. Had the "Broken Arrow" Margarita that was on the special drinks list (a little sweet but good) and my wife had a Grey Goose Martini with hand stuffed blue cheese olives...Fantastic!!! Split the Beet salad which was great. My wife ordered the salmon and I ordered the Cacio e Pepe with seared scallops and shrimp. Our entrees were amazing. We both commented that both dishes were as good as we've had anywhere in a long time. The very friendly and accommodating Manager, Seth, checked in on us a couple times and brought some pastry for us to taste at the end. Great experience across the board, cant wait to return!!!
Fantastic
Fantastic meal served at the Love. We shared the hush puppies, savory delights with honey butter and love bird, fried chicken included greens and grits. So flavorful. Great service and ambiance. Drinks were pretty tasty also! We will have to go back and try the dessert
Wonderful out of town date night!
Great date night - food was delicious- we shared 2 appetizers and an entree and loved it all (especially the salmon with curry). A couple nice NA drinks. Wait staff was great. Wish we could go again tonight and try more choices off the menu!
Enjoyable meal
Had dinner here with my wife, and it was a very enjoyable meal. Food was very good, service was superb. Two issues marred the experience - my entree came out lukewarm, and the prices are high for what they provide. As an example, the cheese board is overpriced, and my rigatoni and short rib was similarly high in price considering the amount of short rib on the plate.
Magic
We were a walk-in 2 top on a rainy Thursday evening. We arrived shortly before 5pm and were greeted by a friendly hostess who made us feel welcomed! This right there set the tone of the evening. Right at 5 pm we were seated at a cozy table for 2. The server was professional, knowledgeable, personable and has a good sense of humor. She and the other staff all worked together by clearing plates and glasses. This shows good teamwork. The food was delicious. I had a non-alcoholic Aperol Spritz and my husband had rum punch. We started with the Parker House Rolls with Chive Butter. I can not recommend this enough. Order this! I had the Plant Power entree and I almost asked for another plate. My husband had the ricotta ravioli and he also mentioned he wanted another plate. We passed on dessert and it all sounded delicious. The restaurant was beautiful, the music fit the atmosphere, the service was 5 stars and the food was delicious. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Flavorful Food!
The food is bursting with flavor. Shrimp and grits = phenomenal. This is a great place to eat. The customer service I received from Monica was excellent!
Our favoriteWe loved the Love. In fact, it was our favorite restaurant from our five days in Philadelphia.
Every time we visit Philly we try at least one or two Steven Starr restaurants; we can always trust the quality and experience. The Love was no exception. We loved the Love. In fact, it was our favorite restaurant of our five day visit to Philadelphia. It is well located and it is very lovely inside - a very romantic vibe which we were very pleased with. The service was friendly, attentive and professional. Perfect. The menu was limited but fun. Everything we tried was outstanding.
Business friends or couple date- delicious high casual spot
Ample portions and fun lively vibe at this indoor outdoor dining spot in a great location in Rittenhouse Square. The burger was 100, great service, packed at 12 on a Thursday. Huge menu. Awesome
I've eaten here a number of times and my favorite meals
I've eaten here a number of times and my favorite meals rotate. Initially, the Shrimp and Grits were the start of the show. The shrimp taste incredible and the sauce is out of this world. The grits are where the dish dies unfortunately. I'm not sure if the restaurant changed the type of grits that they use or whether they changed the way the grits are cooked but they used to taste very good and now the consistency and taste are bad. The baby buttermilk drop biscuits are now my favorite thing on the menu. The service is good, everyone is attentive and the restaurant is nicely decorated but I do think it's a bit too crowded at its busiest times.

Had a great time catching up with my friend over some delicious food. I had the burger, which came with a side of potatoes. They even gave us a complimentary dessert! I will say that service was a bit slow and the website is a little misleading. The site says that the kitchen closes at 2 PM yet we had reservations for 2 PM. My friend had to call the restaurant that morning to make sure that our reservation was still valid.
This was an average brunch and I expected way more!Service
This was an average brunch and I expected way more!Service was nice, but oh so slow. It took about a half hour to bring our bacon app to the table. The candied bacon was absolutely delicious so that was the redeeming factor. The shrimp and grits... presentation was a complete miss. The arugula covered the entire beauty of the dish. It would have been nice if the shrimp tails were removed. The seafood sauce was out of this world. This was a tasty dish, but needs work on the presentation. The melted leek and Dutch gouda omelette was average. The omelette was gorgeous, but the ratio of filling/cheese was off. There was barely any cheese and the egg really swallowed the filling. We ordered warm banana bread pudding which was delivered anything but warm and undercooked. The server fixed this immediately and this was amazing once prepared properly.Lastly, I saw every other table receiving a complimentary chefs bite but we never got one. I don't think I'd return as there are way better options in the vicinity.

Cocktails were fantastic, turkey panini thing was surprisingly excellent; pancakes were great but an order is too much for two people. Sriracha bacon was meh. Overall experience was great and will return soon.
This was a great place to dine.
Great for date night and going out w friends but not a place to take little kids. Important bc this place came up when filtered for Good for Kids. They do not have a kids menu nor little kid food options. Fortunately I made it work and the server was very patient and accommodating. We started w an app of hiush puppies and my youngest crushed them partly out of hunger and mostly bc they were good. The boys and I had the salmon (they split one) it was delish. My youngest who is ultra picky opting for fries and tenders surprisingly ate all his salmon and some of the accompanying salad ingredients. They particularly like the apples and Brussels sprouts. I had to agree but it was all good. The pecans really complimented the maple bourbon flavors made even better by the apples and what looked like cous-cous in roids but wasn't cous-cous. Whatever the grain was it all went together well. We finished w dessert bc it was their spring break and why not. They cookie w vanilla ice cream and salty caramel drizzle was perfect. Love has an interesting menu and when I come back to Philly look forward to dining here again.

We were looking for an exceptional venue to celebrate a major life event, and The Love ended up delivering the goods wonderfully! The ambiance and the service were excellent. The food selection, presentation and taste were literally out of this World! The cocktails were creative, tasty, and strong enough that I was glad we had come via Uber ;-)Tip: Considering the quality of the food and the service, the prices here are quite reasonable :-)Everyone in our party of four throughly enjoyed the entire dining experience from beginning to end; I wouldn't hesitate to return or to recommend The Love unconditionally!

If I had one last meal in life, I'd want it the Tuna Crudo and the Branzino. SO good. Service was stellar and the people were friendly. The ambiance with the white wash bricks were beautiful, warm, and inviting, just like the food. I will be returning!
Great service from Mori.
Great bartender. Amazing espresso martini. . I would definitely come back if I visit Philly again. Love from Las Vegas.
Good food.
I tried beet salad and Parker house rolls. For desert I had the flourless chocolate pudding cake.

Amazing brunch spot! The lemon poppy seed pancakes were delicious! Went on a date and so we split the pancakes bacon and eggs and it was plenty! Good attentive service! We did order potatoes and waiter forgot to put it in but we weren't charged so no big deal! Will def be going back to try the potatoes and mimosas! Looks like their dinner menu might also be something on my list to try!
Parker says "Great restaurant with amazing food and wonderful service"
The food is extraordinary, served with a flair. The Berkshire pork chop was perfectly cooked, with nice potato and carrot sides. Same with the fried chicken and grits, the salmon and and shrimp/scallop curry. John was a wonderful waiter. Tables are a little on the 'cozy' side, so if that sort of thing freaks you out, check in with them ahead of time. But please check this place out...it's wonderful.
Totally recommend!
Excellent brunch! Lots of delicious items on the menu and unique items as well. Had the truffle eggs which were amazing! Try a Frose too! π
Very Rich Food
We went to The Love for dinner where we had the most amazing meal. We shared the tuna crudo; we wanted to lick the plate at the end. My husband had the branzino, a very generous portion. I had the salmon (so good) but the Brussels spouts were even better. We shared the chocolate chip dessert. We were already full but we loved the chocolate chip cookie. Definitely go if you are in Philadelphia.
Amazing
Local friends brought us here when visiting from NJ and wow what a great meal- everything we tried was creative and delicious- the atmosphere is really special and hope to return
Huge Portions of Simple Yet Flavorful Food
Huge Portions of delicious food. Consider ordering family style. Our table had a little of everything but I went all southern food -- with a twist. Never would I have thought to put miso and ginger in collards but they were soooo good. The fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese were excellent and the fried chicken was juicy and tender. The only thing I didn't love were the cheesey grits, they were tasty but too dense. We ate late and sat outside, on a Wednesday, so the noise wasn't too bad. I would go back for sure!
Outstanding In Every Way
This restaurant, recommended by Vittoria of The Dwight D Hotel, really hit the mark! The food, drinks and service were outstanding, as well as the ambiance. Our server Danielle, was attentive and friendly and made us feel like we were the only customers there that night. Although it was a bustling Saturday night, you would have never known it, which was much appreciated by my husband and I on our wedding anniversary. We had a very memorable night at The Love restaurant, thank you.
