Really Good food and drinks.
Great atmosphere and a fun theme. What more could you ask for?

Really great pizza! Husband and son said wings were good too... really nice servers and nice atmosphere for relaxing lunch.

The food was very nice! However, I must be getting old because the music was too loud for me to be able to hear what anyone else at my table was saying, which I find quite annoying. I will give them another try because the pizzas and cocktails were quite good, but if loud again, I may need to find another cool pizza joint.

This is such a cute little places based on Beech Road in Chorlton. As per the name, the menu is divided into washing terms, such as light and heavy load etc. Definitely something different. I popped in here on a Sunday afternoon wanting to grab some lunch. The outside seating area was pretty full so I sat inside instead. Staff were quick and very friendly. Everything inside was crisp and clean and the menu was self explanatory. I decided to treat myself to Mac and cheese. There was the option to add meat to it, however I decided against that. It was served in a hot pot with a lid and looked and smelt delicious. The macaroni was cooked to perfection and the cheese sauce was thick and creamy. The chef had added some garlic oil which gave it a little umpf. As I had driven down I couldn't try any of their cocktails, but the menu did look mouthwateringly good - something I'm certainly going to have to go back for. There's a sign on the wall that says 'carbs and cocktails' - I reckon that's a perfect description of this place!
Be the first to ReplyWas very impressed on my first visit to The Laundrette this
Was very impressed on my first visit to The Laundrette this Wednesday evening! Having never dined there before I didn't know what to expect, and had heard mixed reviews so wasn't going expecting too much.Upon arrival the staff were very welcoming and accommodating, showing me to the bar whilst I waited for my friend and our table to become free - I was a little early, but the bar men were very chatty and friendly so I didn't feel put out whilst I was waiting! When my friend arrived we sat outside, under the heaters, and it was rather lovely. There was plenty of cushions on the loungers outside, and blankets to keep warm and there was a retractable roof that they extended out when it started to rain to keep us dry! It was really nice sitting outside early April, and I didn't feel uncomfortable at all!The menu was quite extensive, however I had pre-looked online (because I am a pain in the arse and like to pre-empt what I'm going to eat...) and when we arrived the menu was different, and the main I was going to have was no longer on the menu! So I was a little disappointed - but the waiter was so apologetic and lovely, he helped me choose something else off the menu, which was delicious! It was a chicken dish with beans, but I cannot remember what it was called for the life of me...I would definitely visit again!
Be the first to ReplyQuite expensive, but the food is good.
I had the halloumi and it was really nice, but quite spicy! The coffee doesn't taste that nice though. Good amount of seating and the outdoor heaters are a godsend! Worth a visit if you're in the area - fits in really well with the Chorlton vibes!

Came here for dinner on a busy Friday night without booking after being turned away from San Juan for a second time! We had to have a drink outside to start with as there were no tables inside when we arrived. Average beer selection but excellent red wine can't remember what it was but it was v tasty and not too pricey! We ended up getting a little table next to the window after a window of opportunity came available! It is great to sit outside but on this evening it was raining sideways and even the patio heaters couldn't cut it! We opted for a variety of small dishes Caesar salad, calamari, twice cooked chips and some amazinggg arancini! The service was brilliant, snappy but not too over-bearing! Overall a really good night and a great outside drinking/smoking area with very effective (if a little burny) patio heaters!

Well I'm salivating just thinking about the treats on offer at Beech Road's prime location for a pig out session. I can never decide whether to go for the burgers (which are huge!) or pizza (which are plentiful!) but I have been trying to work my way through the menu. Helps to have a friend on hand to get a different order and "half and half" it, the meaty ones always appeal but the tandoori chicken is also really delicious. There's plenty for the vegetarians as well, and even some salads if that's what you go for... as well as some lighter bites and starters such as halloumi and houmous... but really go here for the pizza!!

Great cocktails, delicious pizzas and a very cool setting but the service really let the place down. Reallllly slow service even for the drinks, to the point that we thought they'd forgotten our orders. That said, they do the most amazing bubble bath gin sharer cocktail and the menu was fun and exciting. Good spot for a Friday night with friends if you've got the time

Popped in for a light bite on a Sunday afternoon and was impressed. The menu had some good sounding dishes and options to share. The drinks menu is also rather amazing! We sat outside at a comfy table and staff made the two kids at our table very welcome, bringing over some fresh berries for them to munch on and hats and crayons. It took me a while to decide what cocktail to order and while my blueberry gin mojito was delicious, I was envious of a number of other cocktails I saw heading to other tables including one topped with home made candy floss! We are the sharing platter which was tasty and a generous portion and had a few sides too, the sweet potato fries were some of the best I've tasted.Would definitely head back again. Lost a star for only having one female toilet! There was a long queue when the place wasn't even that busy.
Be the first to ReplyI like it here.
Bit different. At first I thought oh god are these folk are all to cool for school but just goes to show don't judge a book by the cover. The decor and and style is clever taking the old into the new and the clue is in the title. The staff are friendly and chatty and make you feel at home. The food Look good although I didn't actually eat here. What I think sells this place is its positioning and location with a large corner plot as Phil and Kirsty may say, the outdoor area is the feature. Nice and warmly heated and great for people watching. Also there is some hot totty walking through Chorlton so nice to soak it all up. Next time I'm eating here!!!
Be the first to ReplyBit hit and miss.
The site of a former laundrette called Soap Opera. Probably would have done better as a dry cleaners as Burton Road is the posh bit of Chorlton where people have their own washers and dryers thank you. I liked the laundrette theme of the menus with laundry symbols as a nod to the previous occupants.I came here for a friend's birthday meal and we all had a good time. We sat outside in January(!) as the patio heaters were on high and there were blankets available too. It was all pretty cosy and fun. I ordered ribs to start but they were super salty, to the point we all agreed something had gone wrong in the prep. The waitress was very nice about it and brought it back to the kitchen who agreed it was a mistake and offered a replacement starter on the house. The other shared starter was a Mediterranean mezze which was very tasty.I had mac'n'cheese for my main and it was good, creamy carby comfort food as it should be. My foodie friends that had the Laundrette burger were impressed and I'd probably go for one of those if I went back. I also had a cocktail as this is supposed to be where they really excel. Unfortunately I really didn't like my first choice. It sounded great on the menu but I only had a couple of sips as I really didn't like the taste. Again though the waitress was great and suggested some popular ones and the replacement was definitely something I'd have again. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of either but I'd know them if I saw them! The birthday brownie, complete with candle, was lovely with a good ratio of squidgy vs. chewy for the texture. This was shared as we were all pretty full and the birthday boy was very noble. Overall I probably would go back as it's got a good spot opposite the park with plenty of outdoor seating and (mainly) good cocktails.
