Absolutely ridiculous are the prices for the cocktails they serve and I must admit feeling fleeced on paying the bill !!
Be the first to ReplyVery poor service and attitude/attention
Arranged to meet friends for pre dinner drinks, time 5.30 bar was fairly busy, however no acknowledgement from any of the 3 bar staff on duty,no be with you in a momment, nothing, zilch, nadda, had to ask for drinks menu, got the felling i shoud be apologising to him for interrupting him, after 15 minutes yes 15 minutes of being ignored we left, and went to cafe royal, a totally different world, having never been before we were welcomed like long lost family what a contrast, Well done staff at CR, you are a credit to your profession. Staff at claridges, you need to get a grip, very disappointing, Danny lowe
Be the first to ReplyAwful experience at Claridge’s Bar
We booked a table for pre-dinner cocktails in Claridge’s Bar last night with friends to celebrate a birthday. The table was booked many weeks ago and we received several reminders about the importance of arriving punctually. When we arrived on time we were informed that the table was not yet available and were asked to wait in a narrow dark corridor behind the bar. No apology was offered by the female member of staff. At 15 minutes after our booking time we enquired and were told that the table was being prepared. When we were finally taken to the table it was opposite the bar with a black curtain next to the table. We quickly realised that this was an outside door through which staff and customers were almost constantly passing. Each time they did so there was an icy blast of cold air which hit everyone at the table. The cocktails were excellent but the service was extremely slow with only one bartender much of the time. We were hoping for a premium experience from such a prestigious cocktail bar but the staff were offhand and unwelcoming and the table we were given was awful. We will not be returning!

Haven’t been here since few weeks Enjoying my Johnny Walker Black Label with the mouth watering mixed nuts, green olives & the cheesy stiff. Service is excellent as usual Highly recommended
Be the first to ReplyCold Greeting, Lovely Hot Food
Having just come from another upmarket hotel where the welcome and service was warm and friendly I felt instantly let down when being greeted at this bar. It was my first visit and first impressions count. I’d called the hotel to apologise for running slightly late due to crowds caused by the New Year’s Day parade and had been put through to the bar who reassured me this wasn’t a problem but the gentleman who admitted us demanded to know who we’d spoken to and was quite abrupt, saying they’d nearly given our table away. I understand these policies but how was I supposed to know the woman on the phone’s name? Aside from this, there was no real atmosphere in this bar and although I couldn’t complain about the service thereafter, it all felt quite aloof. The Mai Tais were fine. I will say that the food was outstanding. It was just pizza and chunky chips but the pizza rates as one of the best I’ve had and the fries were to die for. Needs more vegan options such as plant burgers though as I don’t tolerate dairy well so the pizza was lovely but caused suffering later on! Overall I wouldn’t plan to return.

We had drinks and snacks many times during our visit to London and stay at Claridge's. Sometimes it was just Ryne and I and other times with our friends. Each visit was a great time. Drinks are crafted carefully. The snacks just enough not to ruin a main meal or enough to substitute for the main meal. There always seemed to be room to accommodate us - even one night when there were 8 of us (though we did call ahead for that!). Be sure not to miss out during your stay. Also, I thought it was amazing that when ordering a Manhattan they ask for a preference of sweet, dry or perfect. Turns out all the bartender's ask this. Definitely something that needs to cross the Pond.

If you want to have a break from Christmas shopping ,head to Claridges to see wonderful Giuseppe ,the charming ,mixologist working at the bar in the restaurant .He made us the best margaritas then superb expresso martinis ,could have stayed there all afternoon as a lot of fun…thank you Giuseppe!
Be the first to ReplyGreat service but were overcharged
Went for breakfast for a special occassion, arrived early so we went in to a different bar/restaurant in the Hotel to have a drink, where we had a glass of Rose Champagne each x 3, then went to the main restaurant for our breakfast which was lovely, service in particular was very good, we ordered another glass of exactly the same Rose Champagne, we paid the bill but after we left and looked back at the bill we saw that we had been charged £12 more per glass of Champagne for literally drinking it in a different room, how is that justifiable an extra £36? Will not return as feel we have been ripped off, very disappointed!
Be the first to ReplyElegant bar with wonderful staff……
Booked a table for pre lunch drinks on a Sat afternoon. Glad we did so as it became busy very quickly. Ordered drinks from a lovely Irish waitress who had worked in 5 star Hotels in Ireland where we had been. She was a credit to the Hotel. The bar is elegant - enjoyed the Autumnal decor throughout Claridges and into this area too. Staff are always so helpful and the experience was the perfect start to a fantastic Birthday afternoon. Thank you all.

We needed an excuse to go to the bar at Claridge's and have a few ridiculously expensive drinks. Deciding that a recent wedding anniversary was excuse, we met at the bar one evening in August at the legendary Claridge's Hotel. Yes, the drinks were outrageously expensive –28 pounds and up for martinis and most other drinks, but they were perfectly prepared. The bar snacks, cheeses and oysters and fancy pizzas and so forth, also were not exactly a bargain. We were all seated in a kind of corner table near the main bar. Claridge's of course is not at all fancy. Everything is understated, with heavy emphasis on photographs and momentos of British Royalty. We spent more than we should, by far, but we greatly enjoyed our evening at Claridge's.

The Negronis and Gin Martinis were made to perfection and the snacks were delicious. We tried the Nduja aranchini and the beetroot salad with lovage- sooo good! What stood out was the attentive and warm service from Adrian!

Still my favourite bar in London. Beautiful decor, personalised service, delicious champagne and nibbles. We always have a fabulous time and walk away feeling incredibly happy and excited to return.

There are a number of "top" venues in London that seem to fall short on quality of product. Service was faultless. Courteous, kind and efficient staff made the experience rather enjoyable, but the drinks just weren't as good as expected.
Grapefruit sherbet and oak moss tincture stick in my mind as I remember being excited by the creative list, it's just unfortunate they didn't taste so good as other bars we've visited.
My first drink cost £45, and was not so good as a £20 cocktail I tried at a little bar in Cornwall that was equally interesting, creative, and using good quality liquor.
A good experience, but left feeling like we were paying excessively for ass-kissery service.
Hidden gem!
The ambience was top of the notch, cocktails were perfect, service impeccable. A wonderful experience to cherish for long!

On 18th of April my husband and I visited The Fumoir for the first time.
We certainly heard that it is one of the best places in London for cocktails. However the Fumoir exceeded all our highest expectations.
First of all we were attracted by elegant Art Deco interior.
Dim lights and smooth jazz background make romantic ambiance.
Menu promises unforgettable experience, but we usually express our preferences and ask bartender for recommendations.
We want to say special thank you to Marco, who was attentive to us during the whole unforgettable evening. The cocktails that Marco recommended and made were real masterpieces.
The Fumoir is place, where everything is brought to perfection, but you realise it later, when it is time to go home but you want to stay...)
It seems to me that we spent at the Fumoir our best evening in London.
Thank you!
Hidden Cocktail Gem
This place is probably one of the best kept secrets in London, hidden away behind a beautiful Lalique door.. we were meant to having drinks in the Claridges Bar but as it was to busy they suggested to try the Fumoir bar just across the Lobby.. As they had no tables we started at the bar but later we refused to move because the two gentleman (Gabor and Lucas if my memory is not cheating me) were truly amazing! I mean this was top service on another level, they treated us like old friends, and the drinks were outstanding, the Duchess and Apricot Fizz is highly recommended!

Very relaxing bar
The Fumoir bar is situated inside Claridges hotel. It is a very cosy bar with lots of character.
The bar offers an excellent selection of all types of drinks and snacks.
The staff too, are really friendly and helpful. You are guaranteed to have a very relaxing time.
LOVE IT!
The Fumoir is my favorite bar in London. Small, cozy, intimate and quiet; just perfect! The bartenders are professional, attentive, and knowledgeable and the cocktails are excellent. It's such a wonderful place to have a nice civilized drink before or after dinner. Never loud, always classy; just perfect!

After a busy day Christmas shopping we a friend, we dropped by Claridges to see this year's Christmas decorations which were wonderful as always. We knew we were unlikely to get a table for afternoon tea as these are usually booked months in advance, but the helpful concierge suggested having tea and cake in one of the bars. We chose the Fumoir Bar and selected a table looking out onto the afternoon tea lounge. A lovely choir was entertaining the afternoon tea guests, but from our corner spot, we got to listen too and it was beautiful. The Fumoir itself is all art deco grandeur, but warm, cosy and welcoming and beautifully decorated for the season. We ordered two different teas - the fresh mint is my favourite - I understand the mint is grown in the hotel's own garden. We also asked for a selection of cakes and these did not disappoint. Wonderful service and surroundings and a lovely end to our day in town.

What a great atmosphere to sample the best cocktails in London.
Very impressive and cocktails created the way they should be and utterly delicious.
If you want to feel special then visit the 'Fumoir' rather than the more obvious and crowded cocktail/champagne bars that everyone feels the need to be seen in when in the capital.
Delightfully decadent and Luxurious, Just fantastic.
