Made reservations for what was deemed a jazz brunch, which was a bit underwhelming. We arrived at 10:30am to find the buffet was mostly lunch with just a few traditional breakfast dishes. The jazz band arrived around 10:45 and could barely be heard at our table toward the back of the courtyard. Despite the disappointing selection of dishes, the service was good.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is outstanding! It's a beautiful restaurant.
The table made Cesar's salad was reminiscent of the best restaurants-not done anymore. A wonderful treasure!
Be the first to ReplyThe courtyard is really lovely.
The servers were polite and were doing their best. The food was not even remotely the level of quality and taste we have had at other restaurants in New Orleans. Food was Cold and boring, I was super disappointed with the experience as this is supposed to be a "great restaurant", and it was not cheap. It's a miss.

A place you need to go once for the Jazz Brunch and then can move on to other places. The is OK, but to site outside or in the Terrace Room is something you have to experience once.
Be the first to ReplyI really wanted to give a great review as I was looking
I really wanted to give a great review as I was looking forward to this Jazz lunch. Very few things were good. Food - overcooked and dry, the prime rib was literally shredded beef once sliced - fell apart into shreds. The only items that were of any good were the soup, the ordered items from the kitchen and the dessert. All the entrees otherwise were horrible. Service - started off decent until they pulled our server to the bar leaving us with no one. Trying to get a coffee at the end of the meal took 20 minutes and three different requests. Lastly the Jazz - being there for close to an hour and a half, maybe heard about 20 minutes of quiet Jazz. The trio moved room to room and you could not hear anything unless they were with you - been to other Jazz brunches where at least you could hear the jazz anywhere in the restaurant. Overall a disappointment unfortunately.

Very Mediocre & Disappointing! I was so looking forward to this restaurant, but it was a let down from the beginning. We had reservations for 7:30pm they didn't seat us until 8pm, ordered a cocktail from the bar and a Sazerac at that "the official drink of New Orleans" they didn't even chill the glass. It took another 10 plus minutes to get water. Finally ordered my $30 shrimp and grits and it was so average. Setting was pretty and that's about all I can say positive. Mediocre at best!
Be the first to ReplyNot a big fan.
We went and it wasn't really busy yet we couldn't get the waiter to bring us things for forever. We almost finished eating before we got our drinks. My husband never got his and I was charged for a tomato juice and got a Bloody Mary mix that was so gross. Would love to try again but we are here on vacation.

If you're into buffets with a huge variety, then this is for you. The service was okay, the food was mediocre at best. I think it was a bit overpriced for each person. $36 is a bit much in my opinion. The red beans and rice were really good, along with the creamed spinach.
Be the first to ReplySuper conflicted on the rating I want to give.
Food was average at best. Everything on one bar (with the grits and red beans and rice) was cold...not lukewarm, just plain cold. All the other food was warm, not hot at all. I get it, it's a buffet but eating hot soup and hot meats would have been nice. The service....our actual waiters were ok. 2 gentlemen took care of us. One spilled water and ice on the table while he was pouring my water and didn't bother picking up the ice. I didn't know what to do with it so I scooped it on my plate. Attentive, yes but just ok. The service at the buffet line was terrible. I stood in front of the guy carving the meat and he ignored me. My boyfriend walked up and said hello to him and he ignored him too. The toothless carver (he was missing his front top teeth) called 2 other guys over to him and they were talking to each other as me and my boyfriend just stood there. He finally served us after he finished his conversation. I walked down the line to get the gumbo and all three men stood behind the line talking about a woman in the dining room. They were making inappropriate comments about her and one said "are you trying to get up beat up". So gross. The same carving man walked back and forth across the courtyard and spit on the ground each time he walked by (we were seated facing the courtyard). The jazz part was fine and it was a cute place inside (it was raining out). I would never go again. $100 for lukewarm & cold food, watching staff spit in the courtyard and inappropriate staff ogling & commenting on women during brunch is not my thing.
Be the first to ReplyMake sure you make a reservation on their website the day
Make sure you make a reservation on their website the day before! If you make a reservation on a Friday, it will be confirmed on a Monday. Plan accordingly. Brunch is from 9AM - 3PM, and I did not have a reservation, but thank God I was seated as a solo traveler after all the reservations at 9AM were seated. The Southern hospitality shows here. The wait staff were very friendly and professional. Glenda was my server and she was really nice to tell me her favorites, which I tried for my second trip through the buffet. Drinks are extra - an orange juice was $3.00. Definitely worth the trip to try New Orleans cuisine. I can't wait to come back with my husband... and I'll definitely will make a reservation so I don't wait for 15-20-minutes as the reservation groups are seated.
Be the first to ReplyWent for breakfast buffet.
Cold food and what was available tasted from a can or pre made. NEVER AGAIN!!!!! Y'all should be ashamed to charge over $90 for 2 buffets and 2 drinks. Plus it's filthy with stuff falling in your food

We're we're unsure about this place we first visited 46 years ago on our honeymoon, but it did not disappoint. Friendly and knowledgeable servers, and the best jambalaya and red beans and rice in New Orleans. Plus the jazz trio was really cool!
Be the first to ReplyAmbience is the most important thing here.
It's a beautiful little place to have lunch in a little courtyard with a little white tablecloths and the covers. The food is very good but make sure you get reservations
Be the first to ReplyThe ambiance is great if they let you sit on the patio.
The food was definitely below anything else we had during our trip. That is probably the nature of a buffet. The cost, however, exceeded most meals we had in the French Quarter. Service was good but again, buffet.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing, simply amazing.
Be sure to make a reservation as it does get packed. We chose 11 a.m. to get to try breakfast and lunch items. The grits and ham are worth trying, the red beans and rice are memorable, tuna salad, potato salad both delicious. They have cute boats on your left serving shrimp and all cold items such as salads. Your right side offers omelets made to order and hot items. Leave room for dessert. Bathrooms are very clean. The courtyard is simply beautiful with live Jazz during your meal. Buffet style is only offered during lunch. Gracias Mario for taking care of us. Thank you Mr Lawrence we enjoyed our conversation and good laughs, our compliments to you and all the chefs. We'll be back.

Excellent brunch with everything you could imagine on it, including the with a Creole twist of items you'd expect. We sat in the open outside courtyard and the service was very good and they were quite busy there at 12:30pm. Saturday. I'd really recommend reservations especially if you wish to dine in their beautiful courtyard. If not, you could have a short wait. We left satisfied and very full and was 100% worth it!
Be the first to ReplyWow!! Definitely impressed.
Had reservations for the Jazz Brunch. We were going to be seated in the beautiful courtyard but the weather wasn't cooperative, so we were seated inside, which was also very nice. The wait staff was very engaged, from the brief history of the restaurant to the detailed explanation of what was on the brunch buffet. Food items like the eggs benedict, seafood omelet, the shrimp n grits, the deliciously tender BBQ ribs, the gumbo, oh my, we tried everything. There are even Vegan dishes.Salads, Fruit, desserts. I could go on, and on.Suffice it to say, we're were extremely pleased with the selection, the taste, the staff and the cost. All with the beautiful sound of jazz in the background. A must go to for locals as well as tourists.
Be the first to Replythis place is more like a 3.
5 out of 5.This was my last meal before leaving NOLA, and i went with a group of 5 other people. I believe you'll need to make reservations for the all you can eat brunch as it was very crowded when i went. We sat outside, and it was a nice atmosphere and vibe. The only thing i didn't like about sitting outside were the birds. One of my friends got bird shit on him... lucky it wasn't me. lolBrunch is about 35 bucks a person, and there are 3 lines to get your food. First line is for the omlettes and eggs benedicts. The second line is for the hot food (plenty of Cajun and New Orleans style dishes)The third line is for cold dishes as well as salads. On this line, they also have some hot foods as well, but not as extensive as the second line. They also have shrimp and crawfish, but seemed like the crawfish was really popular and was pretty much empty by the time i got to it. When i came back to see if they replenished the crawfish, it was still empty. You can enter this location from both sides of the street, they have indoor seating as well as outdoor seating. Its a fairly large place, but again, it gets packed during brunch time.
Be the first to ReplyThis place was gorgeous like it described.
The service was amazing! It is buffet style, many options. The food was delicious! The place wasn't too packed but we made reservations just in case.

Considering this is a buffet style restaurant, it was actually pretty ok! I think it was a lil hyped up for me so I was a bit disappointed in it. There are a lot of options, and a huge area crawfish and shrimp on ice, as well as desserts and fruits. I wasn't super satisfied with the food, but the service was great and the mimosas were good. The backyard area is super calming and cute, with a well and live music.
