The Cabana Cafe Beverly Hills Reviews from The Last Year
Gorgeous! Beautifully decorated and attached to the lovely
Gorgeous! Beautifully decorated and attached to the lovely Beverly Hills Hotel. The meals were fresh and tasty in good sized portions. Will absolutely be going back!
Oh, Cabana Cafe in Beverly Hills! I've been going there for
Oh, Cabana Cafe in Beverly Hills! I've been going there for the last ten years and it's absolutely amazing! The atmosphere is so cute and stylish, and the outdoor seating area is perfect for enjoying the beautiful California weather. The food is top-notch, with a great selection of dishes ranging from tasty salads to mouthwatering burgers. And don't even get me started on their cocktails! My personal favorite is the lavender mint lemonade slushy. Servers are a hit or miss. Parking is valet with minimal street parking. Overall, I highly recommend Cabana Cafe for a delicious dining experience!
This place is just okay.
. for the price you would think the food is better. The Wagyu burger was kind of dry and I was disappointed that the crab quesadillas are seasonal now. There are some other things on the menu That's pretty good like the avocados but how hard is that to make. Overall the atmosphere is amazing it's just that pretty much all ur paying for.
It was my best friend's 36th birthday and she really wanted
It was my best friend's 36th birthday and she really wanted to do brunch here. We had dinner at the Chateau Marmont recently and it was excellent, so we've been kind of in the mood to try out the various restaurants of classic hotels in the city. The hotel is lovely in an old fashioned sort of way, the history is really the attraction. It does come off as a bit pretentious and bougie but we were prepared for that, though I wish it was as good as it was self-important. We were also prepared for the prices, but expected incredible food. We got the flat bread pizza and the eggs Benedict, and honestly both were absolutely delicious and I know that the cost is not in the actual food but in the ambiance, so though I would rarely bother to pay $40 for an eggs benedict, it was fine. The size of the portions was excellent. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. We had a 1:00 reservation and we were a bit late, we got there at 1:10 and they seated us right away. A few minutes later she came by to get our drink orders, honestly those were both tremendously overpriced and non-alcoholic ($25 for a coconut). But again, I know we're paying for the place, so we were expecting this. However they never brought over waters, and then they took our food order when they delivered the drinks, the food order came out in a fairly timely fashion, and then nobody checked on us again for over an hour. The waitress didn't come by to ask if a food was to our liking, didn't come by to ask if we needed waters or refills on our drinks. I had a very brightly colored non-alcoholic juice beverage, and when I got about 3/4 through it, I started rationing it because I realized they hadn't come by and I didn't want to be without a beverage. My drink sat there slowly dwindling for over half an hour without any check in. It was clearly obvious (as I said, it was brightly colored) if anyone server bothered to walk by, and we got to a point where we started very obviously looking around for wait staff, only to spend at least 10 minutes not seeing a single server within view of our table. We finally flagged down a waitress who came to bring the bill to a table near us, and asked her for sparkling water and a coffee. Just a few minutes later our regular waitress came by, asked if we needed anything, we explained we already ordered sparkling water and coffee from the other waitress because we hadn't seen her in an hour. A few minutes later we received our sparkling water, coffee, and the two glasses of water which should have been delivered at the beginning of our meal. The cups for the sparkling water were plastic, and honestly I don't believe they were dirty but they were scratched up the way that acrylic tends to get over time. It wasn't the best look, especially since everything else was glass. I finally asked for the check, and thankfully at that point they remembered that it was a birthday and they brought out the piece of cake. Honestly, the cake was the highlight. It was absolutely amazing, a flourless chocolate and raspberry cake. And of course they didn't charge for that, but it was easily the best thing on the menu. Ultimately, we expected the price, we expected the quality of food, we didn't expect how good the dessert would be (5 stars for that!), and we were deeply disappointed with the service. We spent 2 hours there and barely saw our waitress. I'm hoping that was a one-time situation, but it wasn't like it was busy - there are very few people there. I appreciate when servers want to give you privacy to have conversations, but no check in to see if our food was to our liking or if our drinks needed to be refilled was pretty sad. Honestly, if you're interested in the history and you want to impress someone by not caring about price, this is a decent place. If you actually want good service, my experience tells me go elsewhere. At some point I'm sure I will try again and see if this was a fluke, but I'm not in any rush, even though it's conveniently located to me (I'm in Bel Air, the country club restaurant has a nicer vibe with much better service).
I took my best friend here for her 23rd birthday.
She's been wanting to visit for awhile so I figured this is the chance. We had reservations, were greeted & she was wished happy birthday by the host. We got seated and waited 20 minutes before I went up to the bar and got us two waters and a drink for her. The bartender apologized and said he'd bring over the drinks right away. He brings out the waters and her drink about five minutes later. After receiving our drinks it was another 10-15 minutes that went by before someone came to take our food order. Someone finally took our order, great. While waiting for our food we were looking around, it wasn't very busy. There were three servers that had no more than two tables each. All of the other tables had squeaky clean glasses, ours were DIRTY. The bartender brought us over water in dirty glasses. I wondered why he would look at me, laugh and then speak with his coworker, multiple times. Multiple smirks and glares came from him. I then understood why. Not even that but here was no reason for us to be seated, waiting for someone to bring us water, which they didn't even do!! Once we recieved water they were in dirty glasses. I had to go up to the bar and get waters for us! Especially since it's someone's birthday, it stated that on the reservations - you'd think they'd provide great service , especially with their ridiculous prices. Nope, absolutely not. Ended up speaking with a manager who instead of offering to bring us new glasses just said "These are old and plastic". I work in the service industry. The proper thing to have done would've been to bring us new glasses. After that, our waiter brought out two spoons for my friends birthday dessert. The waiter placed down my spoon, then hers, walked away, came back, picked up her spoon & said "I think it's clean", laughed & walked away again. This whole experience was an absolute joke. Only things nice was their ambiance. Also, if you don't walk in with a designer bag or if you're not famous, you'll be treated poorly. Another table seated right next to us got their umbrella placed for them before they even got seated. Once they got seated they immediately got catered - waters greeted politely and everything. For the prices you'd think you'd get treated better, or even better food. No you're paying for the ambiance and location. Go to any other brunch spot. This place is a JOKE!
Food: okay, nothing crazy amazing to return for.
Service: excellent. They did not annoy us much with asking how we are doing and we're professional :) We were there around 1pm and it was not crazy busy for a Sunday and not too noisy. It was pleasant to be there.
100% overpriced for what it is but worth it for the
100% overpriced for what it is but worth it for the experience IMO. We had a lovely experience here, excellent service. The food was good! It wasn't super amazing, innovative, or crazy exciting--but it was solid. It wasn't hard to book a reservation online a day before we went. Also we went around 10 am for Sunday brunch and there was a lot of open tables. ORDER: The iconic McCarthy salad (a little too shredded for my taste, but was enjoyable) The burger The hotdog Onion rings $50 pina colada with coconut shipped from Thailand We said we were splitting the burger and salad, and they kindly split it for us on different plates. We celebrated a birthday and they gave a complimentary cute pizookie with ice cream, & maraschino cherry on top! They accidentally dropped and spilled drinks near our table, we experienced minor splashing, not a big deal. But the for inconvenience they gave us chips and guac! This place is so nostalgic, it feels like you're transported back to the golden age of Hollywood. The vibe is retro glamour vacation. Would go back and would recommend!
I like it )
Nice place, near the pool I ordered breakfast - avocado toast with smoked salmon, large portion Quality service

My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Cabana Cafe and even got to meet head Chef Luis. The food was delicious and the ambiance was simply beautiful. The restaurant is by the beautiful pool and private cabanas at the historical Beverly Hills Hotel. What can be better! We were sat in one of their booths overlooking the entire restaurant and bar. It's small but cozy. The service was pretty good. Thank you Chef! My wife's allergies were accommodated and we enjoyed everything from the Avocado Toast, Truffle Fries (best we've ever had), Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon to the most delicious Pina Colada. We will definitely be back to the Cabana Cafe during our next visit to Los Angeles.

Most overrated restaurant I've been to.
The food was fine. Just fine. Ambiance of the hotel is amazing but the cafe not so much. Service was not great at all. If I were to redo it, I'd grab a coffee and pastry at the coffee shop. A total skip for me.
I love the Beverly Hills Hotel, but there were some small
I love the Beverly Hills Hotel, but there were some small details that made some of the other restaurants here a little better. It is nice that it is right by the pool, but you are asked to not photograph the pool or the cafe area. There was some food under the first table we were sat at, so we ended up moving. I got a cappuccino, which I had at the Polo Lounge prior, but it was missing the sugar cane stick and the "The Beverly Hills" wording. The service at any restaurant at the Beverly Hills Hotel is great. Always greeted by the staff with a smile. They acknowledged our birthday celebration immediately. We received quick refills and were checked up on after our food arrived. Our server was switched to someone else half way through the meal, or so I think. There was no introduction or notice of that. However, the food was delicious. I had the eggs benedict, and it was perfect. The truffle fries were one of the best I have had. The birthday dessert they brought out was a delicious, good sized cookie. The Cabana Cafe is great for a bit of a more casual brunch.
