Sushi Tsune Osaka Reviews from The Last Year
This place has the best sushi!! I had the Spanish roll.
Also a special off the menu u roll, Lemon Drop. The chef made these rolls with love!
If you want inexpensive yet delicious Japanese food then
If you want inexpensive yet delicious Japanese food then this is it! I was introduced to this place by a Japanese American group. They have huge bento boxes, good sushi, noodles, and more. I believe you have to call in your order as they're old school like that. It is usually under $70 (for 2 bentos and an appetizer or two) maybe a little more with alcohol and I always end up with leftovers. The interior is basic but this is one of those places you go to with company you like. It's in the mall opposite Chili's.
Osaka is a solid 4 stars.
The food is decent--it's not the best Japanese food I've ever had, but the prices are very reasonable. The service is fast and friendly. There's lots of free parking and it's conveniently next to the freeway.
This has been our go to Japanese food restaurant for 30
This has been our go to Japanese food restaurant for 30 years. Excellent quality food with friendly service. Super ono!
Great sushi and Japanese eatery tucked in north SD.
Pros - friendly family owned restaurant with fast service and fresh seafood. I got the Udon and it was packed with seafood and flavor. They have large portions and dont skimp on the seafood. Cons - none Great place for a lunchtime meal or sushi with friends. Check it out if you are in the area
So upset.
We always knew this place was cheap with their sauces. But, this is incredible. We asked for extra tempura sauce and the lady got mad and threw another half full container for two orders of tempura plates. No longer pleased with this place. Hopefully they can get better for their customers. Eating tempura without sauce sucks.
I have been coming here for years, since the early 90's.
The food is always good and prices are great! Tempura veggies and calamari roll are my favorites!
It's like a small urban like, homely and vintage sushi
It's like a small urban like, homely and vintage sushi restaurant off the freeway and nearby a gas station. I've came here often and still do. Also guys, you really can't beat the very awesome price point of common sushi options. They also have specials but for the price it's awesome and filling. The service is very nice. Just be open and kind to the limited English speaking service and cooks. They have worked here a long while but their service is still good. You also have pretty laid back but chill servers who are unbothered and quick. They park hours where it's remarkable to me the service they provide. I like it since I was a server once myself and serving isn't easy as it looks. You gotta have patience and attention to detail and hospitality with these guys do have. All in all, if you enjoy a vintage, small and good guest service with affordable sushi, I recommend this place. It's chill.
This restaurant is my go-to for Japanese food in the area.
Very casual ambiance and plenty of seating for a weekday dinner. Food came out fairly quickly. I typically order the bentos since they're pretty filling. I got the Combo A bento which came with chicken teriyaki, Osaka beef, 8 pc California roll, shrimp and scallop tempura, and miso soup (not pictured). The meats were well cooked and the sauce was flavorful. Good portion for the price paid. I also got a dragon roll, which has become one of my new favorites here. The eel was tender and well prepared. Flavor of the roll was reminiscent of a soft shell crab roll, nice and crispy on the inside. The servers check in every so often. However, I'm not too bothered by the presumed lack of service that other reviews have stated.
I'm writing this out of disappointment.
I grew up eating here 2-3 a month and the food was always so good, the staff was friendly and it was always a great experience. Now I live out of the area and have children of my own and look forward to going here with my parents when I'm in town. The last 4 times (over the last year) have been so disappointing. They have lost any customer service skills they once had (except for one very sweet younger guy that I'm assuming works in the kitchen, but will bring food out) and the food just isn't good. The sushi is premade so it comes out quickly....so quickly we got our rolls before our miso soups. My roll was dry and flavorless. I hope they can get back to what they used to be.
Yummy, basic rolls for cheap.
A steal! I stopped in tonight to make a to-go order. They were QUICK to prepare it. I ordered 1 Philly roll, and it took 2 minutes for them to make. -1 because they put tobiko on my roll which I am not the biggest fan of. The sushi roll was good, but nothing extraordinary. They really shine price-wise, with most rolls being $6 or less. I see some other reviews mentioning not the best service. When we came to order, there weren't any tables sat so I honestly can't judge the service. Pretty slow for a Sunday night. It was very quiet.
Little mom & pop hidden gem w/ mediocre food that'll have
Little mom & pop hidden gem w/ mediocre food that'll have you keep coming back! Lol. I've been here on many occasions for as long as I know. Parking always sucks & is always packed due to multiple surrounding businesses. Service is decent. You walk in, you're seated, they're quick to take your order, & food comes out in short amount of time. The waiters are typically older Asian ladies. I always usually see the same two. Customer service skills can be worked on a bit more. But doesn't bother me too much. They're just tryna do their job & get through the day. Cute little spot where you can take your family or go on a budget friendly date. They have booths throughout the restaurant. I usually always get the bento box. I've tried a few different basic rolls that were pretty good. I love their fried seafood w/ tartar sauce. Their udon noodz is pretty tasteful as well. Although one time it was a miss. The broth tasted sour & old. Other than that, would recommend & will continue to come back.
Best sushi in town.
Great service and perfect for eating in or takeout. We eat there at least twice a month.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
