Sushi Den Denver Reviews from The Last Year
I wish I could give more than five stars! The best sushi I
I wish I could give more than five stars! The best sushi I have ever had. It's not even comparable to any other sushi in the world I've had. And, I've had a lot of sushi. Fish is flown in from Japan. There are many chefs as you walk in preparing the fresh delicacies. Honestly, they did an outstanding job like these are Michelin chefs! I don't know if they really are but if they're not they need to be. Lol The ocean trout was phenomenal! This is a MUST if you like sushi. Don't miss out on this one! It was so good-I wishI had ordered several orders. Lol Our waiter was exceptional. There were 11 of us in our party and we all started off with a couple dishes. We asked if we could keep ordering as the evening went on if we wanted more. They said, " you sure can." They definitely accommodated us and we tried many dishes after that. I don't know that I've had a better restaurant experience in a very long time. If you're in the Denver area or within a couple hours... It is definitely worth the drive. If you like sushi, I promise you have never tasted sushi this good!
Very amazing food.
Cute area with lots of restaurants but this one claim to fame is the fresh fish that comes from Japan which was tasty. I had the steak and it was like butter in a mushroom sauce with mash potatoes.

Highly recommend making a reservation as the restaurant was pretty busy even at 8PM. *Restaurant Atmosphere: 5/5 *Server: 5/5 (We had Mak ) --Attitude: 5/5 --Knowledge of Menu: 5/5 --Attentiveness: 5/5 --Quickness in delivering additional items requested: 5/5 *Food Quality: 5/5 Everything we tried here was amazing, the portions were a bit smaller than I was initially expecting, but it ended up being a perfect amount of food. The spicy edamame is really nice and spicy! The only dish that wasn't our most favorite was the spider roll with soft shell crab...but only because it wasn't what we were expecting. (See photos for more.) Side note: Our group of 4 collectively agreed the ginger we had tonight was in our top 3 best of all time....we have a really bad obsession with ginger
Perfect.
Everything is so fresh and delicious. One of the best sushi spots in Denver, love it here!!

This restaurant is one of the most consistently top-tier in terms of quality, flavor, and service. Absolutely everything was fantastic, especially the Tuna n' Toro sashimi and the banana cream pie. Even my side of plain sushi rice was absolutely perfect. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations and was very attentive to our every need. The yuzu spritz mocktail was delicious and bursting with flavor! I am very happy Sushi Den now takes reservations. My family went for my belated birthday celebration on a Tuesday night around 7pm and it was absolutely packed, but since we had a reservation we were immediately seated!

Is it just me or is this the most multi-reviews for a place? Anyway, onto my review so you can learn about my uncultured first time having sushi even though I've had sushi many times I arrived a bit ahead of my party. We went early, like 5:30/6. I am not sure if they take reservations as my friend gave me the choices of places to go and this one had the best reviews. But totes, I walked in and said we didn't have a resi, which in Denver means you don't get a spot. They were like cool. We can do a table for you but we need at least 50% of people here. Why don't you go to our waiting bar? Which I did and it was fine. My friends arrived and we reported back to the front and were sat immediately. We sit and the server introduces herself. I admit I could tell she was busy so I wanted to be her least annoying table. Unfortunately that was probably not achieved. I'm Partially deaf and I found the music loud. So I just read her lips while she read the menu. She explained a lot and I had many questions. I didn't honestly know the difference between some of the sushi types. I guess this happens when you go to conveyor sushi. Luckily my friends were able to fully hear our server and then explain Sashimi is a fresh slice of raw fish, and nigiri is a fresh slice of raw fish, atop a ball of sushi rice. It was clear my friends preferred Sashimi. I was terrified but determined to try something new. We ordered a lot of food. Forgive me for not remembering some of the names but we ordered mostly from the catch of the day menu. They also sell out of some items. It happened while we were there to a few items on the catch menu. The crispy tuna was legit so good, but my favorite was the king salmon. The chefs choice was king salmon but seared. We did get a few rolls. Thankfully nothing with cucumber. I hate cucumber and usually order around it or take it out. I know, I told y'all I'm uncultured. The wasabi was fresh. The ginger fresh. And the garnishes were great. But the deserts were so good. So so good. The banana cream with chocolate drizzle was on point. However the favorite was the pumpkin crème brûlée. I loved loved loved that desert. I had a great night watching the April snow fall. My only dislike was the loudness of the music. It really drowned out my hearing and reduced the table conversation. Maybe this is a me issue though. I talked mostly to who was sitting next to me. Still 5 stars for the good food and service. Although pretty sure our server was annoyed by us, mostly me and it being my first time having legit sushi.

Still killing it, Sushi Den!!! Love the vibes! Love the food! Love the service! Adding to the list of yummy goodness: Their Chardonnay is also great (Chablis is still my fave). We had the spicy edamame which they do very well! Poki roll is another good one (reminds me of an ahi poke bowl). We had their truffle sashimi which was also incredible! We finished off with banana cream pie which was absolutely divine... light, airy, creamy, with great pairings of texture and flavor.
This is my go to sushi spot.
Every item featured on the menu is so delicious. Some of my go to items are the house roll, tuna nigiri, the best California roll, and tuna salad

Quality sushi, amazing service and such a beautiful ambiance. Perfect for a date or solo or group of friends.
An update on our recent experience with Sushi Den.
After our past disappointments, we're delighted to share that they've made significant improvements that have won back our support. During our latest visit, we noticed a remarkable difference in both the service and the quality of the food. Our server Berri was attentive and kind, ensuring our needs were met throughout the meal. The portions were back to their generous size, and the sashimi slices were beautifully thick, just as we remembered. The specialty rolls were back to their flavorful and substantial selves. It's evident that Sushi Den is highly committed to regaining the trust and loyalty of their customers, and they've certainly succeeded in winning back ours. We're thrilled to have had such a positive experience and are excited to make Sushi Den our go-to spot for quality Japanese fare. We'll definitely be returning often and recommending them to everyone we know.

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
