This was one of the best omakase experiences I've had.
Price was not too bad considering the sushi that was servers. The chefs took their time and explained each piece and also answered all questions we had. I would definitely go back when in Miami.

Sushi Bar Miami is a culinary gem that truly stands out in the vibrant Miami dining scene. The star of the show is undoubtedly the Itamae, whose expertise and passion for sushi are evident in every dish served. Not only was he incredibly kind, but his meticulous attention to detail, from selecting the freshest ingredients to the precise artistry in slicing and presentation, ensures that each piece of sushi is a masterpiece in its own right. The service at Sushi Bar Miami is also impeccable. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely eager to make your dining experience exceptional. We truly can't sing Sushi Bar's praise loud enough and look forward to returning!!HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend.

There is no reason for a high end sushi restaurant to serve a cheap garbage fish like escolar, bottom line.

Two words--ABSOLUTELY DIVINE!! What an absolute party in the mouth. It is pricey but worth every dollar. Treat yourself, at least once! The night consisted of about 16-17 nigiri pieces plus dessert. Every piece kept getting better and better!!!

Hands down the best Omakase sushi bars I have ever experienced. Absolutely amazing food & service in such an intimate setting. Do a sake pairing! If you are in Miami and don't eat here you are missing out.

I have had my favorite bite of fish ever at this place and it happened more than once. The whole experience was fantastic I would use the word superb but I had to have my lovely welcome cocktail outside and it was cold as they had a private party at the Salon . But after that we were welcomed into the Sushi bar and the fabulousness began. Piece after piece of tender beautiful fish just flowed in this 17+ course meal . Each creation showcased the flavor of the fish. The toppings varied some smoke some citrus some umami. Each used sparingly so the fish, crustacean or A5 wagyu shines. I thought that I would never eat unagi again, but they prepared it with the schmaltz of the wagyu and I had to just stop talking stop drinking to savor the sweet sensation Then after all done you have the option to let the chef create something unique. Oh mine was an Uni wrap heaven. $18 extra and I would have done more but was too full. I need to go back, I almost want to start the experience backwards. Worth every cent. Along with my first sparkling sake and the ever and friendly chefs that explain every detail of what you eat
Be the first to ReplyExceptional food, great service and nice ambiance.
The restaurant was excellent. The food was well prepared and very tasty.
Be the first to ReplyLovely execution of Omakase in south beach.
The cozy (and hidden) seating for 12 had an inviting and intoxicating vibe. We entered the bar and were offered a signature cocktail. The hostess then led us to the Omakase room, which was candle lit and inviting. The eating experience was manned by 3 chefs and a waiter who tended to our drinks. We opted for the sake pairings which were a lovely complement to dinner. Each sushi bite was better than the next- the fish and the enhancements such as truffle, sesame, cilantro etc were fantastic and creative. The chef then offered 2 more bites (for an additional fee) followed by desert. My only minor quibble was the serving of the alcohol- I never felt that the new libation was there for me when I was ready, it was not quite "paired" with the sushi courses. Overall we truly enjoyed ourselves and there was also a great social dynamic and we enjoyed mingling with the other guests since we were all together 12- it was intimate and fun. Be prepared for the price tag- it was not for the faint at heart. The bill for our 4-some was a little over $1500. But we were not sorry!
Be the first to ReplyProbably one of the best Omakase experiences I've had.
Completely nigiri, the quality and flavors were second to none. The staff and chefs were amazing and inviting. This is such a cool spot tucked away inside a hotel. Whenever we're in Miami this is a definite must visit.

Thank you, Justin, for getting us in last night! Much appreciated and my omakase wingman Tim and I really had a good time. Rest assured you are in good hands in South Beach with your team of Executive Chef Francis and General Manager Sam and the team on Espanola Way.My favorite bites were the chu-toro with ossetra caviar which EF Francis chose from 12 types of caviar. The spotted shrimp bite was the best I ever had. The shrimp had a very nice taste and texture, and toppings were well thought out. The coconut ice cream dessert was made by a local maker that was not too sweet and a satisfying way to end the experience. The sake pairings were well done, and descriptions simply made sense. I appreciated that.Never lacked for anything and I suggest this is your Go-To-Omakase that had a nice Miami touch to some of its bites. I heard they are in Austin, Chicago and soon Dallas. We also ran into friends from London-Miami, and they loved it too. I really wanted to take photos of the presentations and bottles but didn't want to distract.Again, thank you for the hospitality and great experience!

We tried Sushi Bar while visiting South Beach and it was amazing. We got lucky and had the whole small seating area to ourselves. Service was amazing. The chefs described each course in detail. You have a bowl of unique pickled veggies instead of the typical pickled ginger to cleanse your palate. The sake pairing is definitely recommended - again each one is described in detail along with why it's a chosen pair for the next course. The sushi was great, definitely a different twist as every one is many layers of flavor and texture - not just rice, wasabi, fish, and soy. Wish I could eat here every night.
Be the first to ReplyWow what an amazing dining experience! I highly recommend.
The sushi was incredible the chefs made the experience so much fun! And at the end a surprise dessert!
Be the first to ReplyVery special experience with Chef Ambrely and her team.
Very talented at Sushi and we included the Sake paring. Would highly recommend this experience. If you really like sushi this is not a place to pass up.

Wonderful service by the chefs and wait staff, but thats where the good parts end. Ate here on Feb 7th, 2023, and within 1-1.5hrs got extremely bad food poisoning that took over a week and change to fully feel better from. Main symptoms took about 1.5 days to quell, and subsequent ailments like cramps and (to keep it PG) "uneasy digestive issues" persisted well into the upcoming week. Manager Sam called me days after I contacted them about the situation just to tell me poorly informed statistics about Servesafe practices and insisted the single plain slice of pizza I had roughly 10 hours prior was the culprit because "our Austin location hasn't had any issues in 2 years" as if that mattered. Then stated matter of factly, "per the cdc food poisoning shows up 8-10 hours after ingesting the food" (while this is a correct timeline for a few bacteria to develop, it's far from being exclusively true especially when dealing with raw food and improper storage/handling/cross contamination).None the less, with some pieces having 8 plus ingredients of various nature and the Sushi and many toppings being served very conspicuously warm. It seemed and tasted like the raw ingredients had been out all day. This place is a potential recipe for disaster. I was assured they "looked through everything" as if staph and other bacteria is visible enough to look for. Sams solution was simply to "comp a couple of drinks on your next visit". I expect better from a restaurant thats nearly 400$ per person (no drinks were had, did the 3 "upgrades" ~40ish$ value, which included a shaved heap of some of the most unpleasant, dry and pungent fois gras I've ever had and for an additional amount, a few extra pieces of sushi at the end.)Overall, as someone that seeks out fine dining establishments in the hundreds of WELL documented places I travel to per year; this is a place I just simply recommend you stay far away from. There is tons of better food in Espanola Way with managers whom are actually familiar with health codes and don't try to play the customer as stupid.Again, poisoning aside, the atmosphere was very pleasant, the chefs and us patrons had fantastic conversations throughout the dining experience. If you would like to chance being violently sick, then this may be a place of interest. But with no less than 20ish different toppings with many being touted as aged, brined and in house fermented; I had a lot of ingredients to ponder upon as everything was violently expelled from EVERY SINGLE hole my body had for the immediate 7+hrs after eating there. This place is far from Vegas, so roll the dice at your own discretion. Between rebooking my flight home and adding an extra day on my hotel due to being too sick to travel back home, this was a +1000$ experience that was quite possibly the worst I've ever had in my life. Sam's ignorance in health and food safety was astounding and I figured once I told him that I've also been in the industry for years (as a blaring hint) he would stop trying to BS with me, but alas, he doubled down - to which I cordially decided to end the conversation.Save your money, time and health and just skip this establishment, or don't - but thats a risk I urge you not to chance on.

***UPDATE***Enjoyed an incredible dinner last night at Sushi Bar! After an administrative mistake (this happens to the best of restaurants), Sam (GM in Miami) reached out directly to help us secure a new reservation. We were extremely happy with the food quality, service, culinary know-how, and overall vibe of the experience. From the welcome cocktail at El Salon (delicious lychee / prosecco combination) to the 17-course omakase to the meticulously crafted sake pairing, we were impressed with the food quality. The executive chef Ambrely Ouimette is so charasmatic and engaging - she was able to make the 10 of us seated at the bar feel like we were having an extravagant sushi experience inside of her living room! I loved how the chef was able to strike a challenging balance of executing dishes with the precision that characterizes top traditional sushi restaurants while bringing in creative notes from other cuisines. The add-ons of caviar, foie gras, and truffle were completely worthwhile. The assistant chefs had the opportunity to carefully explain each bite, walking us through the multi-step process and showing the fresh ingredients (like the natural wasabi -- delicious!) Overall, we really were impressed by this experience and 10/10 would recommend it to other Miami diners looking to enjoy sushi and a good time. Sushi Bar is clearly elevating the Miami omakase scene to the next level. I hope they bring one to Brooklyn soon. :)

Spent our one night in Miami with Marco, Carlos, Tyler and the fantastic team at sushi bar. Took a 945pm serving and joined for an intimate nearly one one one spectacular meal. Inventive, fresh, and slam dunk sake pairings to boot. A true unique experience, especially for you foodies out there.
Be the first to ReplySuper food.
Excellent service. The best omakase by far in miami, really amazing. The sake pairing was delicious.
Be the first to ReplyThe experience started with a welcome cocktail in El Salon
The experience started with a welcome cocktail in El Salon which is located outside of the lobby of the hotel. This was fine, although that initial impression could use a bit more tweaking with perhaps a more attention to hospitality---we were seated , given our Prosecco mixed with something that I honestly can't recall and sat down to wait at a table. Would have been a little more congenial to have been offered water as well, perhaps have a napkin placed under the cocktail but that is me noticing details. I always say the devil is in the details but I didn't see much at that point. :) Next, however,I was surprised! Things went way uphill from there. The staff was great, the entire 'experience' was extremely well put together , the food was absolutely delicious, high quality, professionally executed, and I would definitely recommend this wonderful gem of a restaurant. Especially so to anyone that loves omakase and wants to try a 'modern' and updated version of it. I tend to prefer traditional, less complicated and clean omakase but this was a very nice surprise for me! For someone that doesn't love sushi so much or has not tried omakasse I would recommend this to EVEN MORE. This place will change your mind! I've lived in NYC , been to almost all the omakase's there and now live in Miami and we are so happy that places like the Sushi Bar Miami and others in our city which has matured culinarily and in many other ways! Recommend!
