Breakfast- loved! Gluten-free vegan many options!
We came for breakfast and sat inside. There are tables outside and the line can get long bit moved well.
We split the pesto rice bowl, omelette, and famed ricotta toast. The portions are not large but filling. We loved everything. Coffee is good.
Worth the trip!
We ate a late lunch at Sqirl today, and I will be dreaming of my dish until I go back and order it again. We recommend the sorrel pesto rice with Halloumi added and the old-school breakfast. YUMMY.

Fantastic breakfast spot, especially the pastries...long line even later on a Monday morning, but most people took outdoor seating so didn't take too long. A bit on the pricey side.
Be the first to ReplyGo for the pastries; if that's all you want, skip the line!
We've put off going for years because of reading about the wait lines. We went at 11 a.m. hoping we were just past the breakfast folks and before lunch. There was a line but the wait was less than 20 minutes; we note that as we were eating--square into the lunch time--there was no line. Anyway, we were glad we went; the coffee, as reported was great and we took reviewers' advice to buy pastries to enjoy while waiting for the food. The pastries were by far our favorite items we tried. We got the obligatory ricotta toast and the sorrel pesto rice, both good as well as interesting, but no where near the taste explosion of the scone and the morning bun (the latter our favorite). Realizing I might return just for carry out pastries if it didn't involve standing in line so I asked and one can come up on the side for those carry out items. A fun place; tables sprawling everywhere in adjacent buildings. Happy hipster crowd. Very loud indoors but we found a nice quiet table in adjacent courtyard and were very happy with our experience.

Had an amazing breakfast in LA. Iโve wanted to try Sqirl forever and finally got the chance.

The rice dish, which has been featured on Best Thing I Ever Ate, was a straight-up display of culinary genius. The earthy, supple rice. The punchy watermelon radish. The tangy French sheep feta. The dark, richly flavored pesto. The perfectly poached egg. All these flavors and textures, in various combinations, made each forkful a wild and dreamy ride into the land of foodie nirvana.

I was also blown away by the ricotta toast. This was no ordinary toast - thick cut with a crispy crust and a soft, airy crumb - the level of butteriness was similar to that of the finest Parisian croissant. And this was no ordinary ricotta - this ricotta was elevated to the point that it became a cloud in its own right - creamy, oh-so-light lushness with a mild but distinctive flavor that brought my palate to its knees. I โmade it a rainbow,โ which is to say I received three different jams atop the cloud - blood orange hibiscus, yellow raspberry rhubarb, and Santa Rosa Plum. Angels in the REAL heaven ainโt playinโ no harps - theyโre eating this toast.
Great coffee hipster cafe
As an Australian, I am a coffee snob and yes this hits the mark..Great coffee and interesting food. Breakfast is alive and well here..queues out the door..possibly could be abated with table service but they do look impressive. Service was brilliant thank you

While in Los Angeles on business last year, I grabbed brunch at Sqirl and I'm very glad I did. This was a fun find in the Silver Lake area of the city. Their farm to table brunch was simply a superb experience. I enjoyed the breakfast quiche, porridge, and of course the ricotta toast. The jams were unique and flavorful...but the porridge....I can't say enough about it. I still think about it and can't wait to return to taste it again. The dining space is very small but I found a nice place at the bar in the corner. The environment is a fun, bustling vibe though with friendly people. Highly recommend Sqirl...and I truly hope to return soon!

We ordered the brioche toast with homemade ricotta and a rainbow of jams. Wow, absolutely delicious. The ricotta was creamy and very flavorful. The combination of the ingredients is perfect. I also had a cafe latte and it was very good as well. Trying their ricotta brioche toast is a must. We went during the week so it was not crowded at all.
