Solas Irish Pub Boston Reviews from The Last Year
Your typical Irish Pub
This is your traditional Irish pub in both food and atmosphere. Our server Aiofe (hope I spelled that right) was very friendly.
The service was fantastic from the hostess to the bartender
The service was fantastic from the hostess to the bartender to the waitress we had. The food was delicious as usual. I tried something new, the chicken pot pie and it hit the spot and filled me up. My nephew had the shepherds pie and enjoyed every bite. Make sure you have a pint or two when you're there. Sláinte!

Service was amazing and everyone who helped us was from Ireland. Highly recommend the chicken avocado BLT. The Reuben was just ok. Chicken pot pies looked incredible. The rose wine was just ok
Irish pub vibes with high end restaurant prices.
It's a cool place when you walk that feels cozy. The food and drinks are grossly overpriced. $30 for a regular meal and $19 for a glass of mediocre whiskey is nuts for an Irish pub
Great Irish Pub with excellent food and service.
Chicken pot pie is the best I've ever eaten.

What a great summer night it was yesterday! Perfect for outdoor dining at Solas! We walked over to Boylston street checking out places to eat and stopped by here - looked really nice with the lights and seating outside, so decided to eat here. We were seated immediately- it was after 8:30 closer to 9 so easier to get a table on a Saturday night! Pro tip - go a bit later to avoid the crowd if you're okay eating at that time. Our server was lovely, brought over waters- I asked for wedge of lemon for my water and we ordered right away too. I ordered the roasted salmon and the hubs got the shepherds pie. The server remembered my lemon and brought a little cup with a few wedges! The food was alright, salmon itself was cooked well crispy on the outside and tender flaky inside but really lacked flavor - needed to be seasoned. I guess I could have stinker salt and pepper on top but me not the same as when it's seasoned before it's cooked. There was a side of kale, peas and a lot of mashed potatoes. The hubs thought the shepherds pie was ok and also felt it was a bit mild. He was glad that it was not a huge portion as sometimes it can be as he wasn't too hungry but was able to finish it all. Nice to see the hustle and bustle on Boylston street. Good experience overall.
Good Location
Cool bar with some good draft beers. The food at the bar was very good, had some pork sliders. Service was very good, definitely would come back. It’s attached to the Lenox Hotel.
Tremendous .
.. great fun, great place, great service --- and tremendous food! I can't wait to go back. Highly recommended.
Quiet, cozy pub
I met friends here when they were visiting from out of town, and we all had a fabulous time. We had a quiet booth in the corner where we got to talk over great drinks and appetizers without being bothered. Our waiter was friendly and checked in on us regularly but without being annoying. The fried cauliflower with sweet-n-sour sauce was really good! This pub is attached to the Lenox Hotel and the bathrooms are in the hotel lobby (an added bonus, as the bathrooms were much cleaner than standard pub bathrooms). We were here in the late afternoon during that quiet period between lunch and dinner, so it wasn't too busy and our food came out promptly. The atmosphere had a cozy pub vibe to it, which I liked; I'll definitely come back.
Great spot with great service.
Stopped in to grab a pint and snack at the bar. Cool atmosphere. We will be back.
Wish we found sooner
Fabulous food we went in on off chance as we were passing by and got seated upstairs for food. Portions are big. Afterwards went down to the bar where we mixed with the locals. John the barman was brilliant. Staff are amazing. Raging we didn't find it sooner
Uncomfortable
A joke,congested,couldn't get served,but maybe that was a good thing,and found o'keeffe,s and had a great evening there,thank you Joe☘️

Such a fun vibe inside and it got pretty crowded on a Tuesday night. Definitely a place to go to for after work dinner or drinks. Our server was nice and gave my friend and I space to catch up after dropping off our food. I love comfort food and I can definitely say the chicken pot pie made me feel comforted - it was delicious. My friend enjoyed her chicken curry as well. I plan to go back and try the shepherds pie next.

Updated review: I came here again while in town for a conference and we had great service. We had a cozy table upstairs and it was a great setting for a cold November night. We had the buffalo cauliflower, which was very tasty and we also had a butterscotch pudding for dessert, which was delicious. Our drinks were good too and it's a solid Irish pub and one that we would visit again when we're in town.
Irish pub done right!
Arrived in Boston with my daughters and we were going to do a bit of Christmas shopping but looking for dinner first. Walking by Solas and the menu looked good to all so we went in. They were able to seat us without a reservation upstairs. Once seated the waiter took our drink order then back a little later for the food order. I was undecided and he said go with the fish and chips with conviction. His guidance was on point! My daughters each had the Mac and Cheese which was excellent…a bit of a spicy kick to it which they enjoyed. The fish and chips were very good. All the food arrived hot…which does not always happen in busy restaurants. Overall….good food…price was good…and service was attentive. I would recommend Solas.

Loud. Very loud. But it is basically a bar, so no complaints. Food was really good. Clam chowder was wonderful. Seriously. By far the best of our trip to that point. Both the Chicken and Shepard's Pie were terrific. Excellent taste and not too salty. Probably the best restaurant we dined at in Boston (then again our family pulled us into Cheesecake Factory TWICE, so maybe not a completely fair assessment, but still valid!). Service was good and the entire staff was pleasant and welcoming. Would definitely eat here again (with earplugs or our noise cancelling earphones).
A brilliant place
We just spent a few days on Boston and visited Solas each day for a few drinks and food - we thoroughly enjoyed it there , what a. Cracking place
Nice small space to meet friends and have a few drinks.
Music was loud and fun- 2000's pop music. Not much of an Irish feel, but perhaps the menu better reflected that. We did not order food. Large TV on the wall with sports on.
Great Dining Experience
Great Irish restaurant, nice atmosphere. We opted to sit upstairs because we wanted a quieter spot. Service was fast and friendly, drinks came quickly. Food was very good as well, we had a burger and fish and chips. Nice sized portions and very tasty. Overall great experience. If I am back in the area, I would definitely return.
A very relaxing place to visit, and a great place to dine.
We always try to visit Solas if we can. It is an amazingly comfortable restaurant. The bar is great, the dining rooms are very friendly, it is clean and just a wonderful place to relax, and maybe enjoy a meal. I had the Cuban sandwich this time, it was outstanding.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
