Monk fish with a delicious casserole and a saffron cream
Monk fish with a delicious casserole and a saffron cream sauce was excellent. Lamb was a bit tough. The charcutiers was skimpy. Service was slow and the atmosphere was pub like.

Lovely sophisticated setting with attentive service and food to please. Social eating house is a great dining experience. They pay great attention to detail in the food with texture and flavor. Overall a great experience, 10/10 recommended
Be the first to ReplyAn atrocious experience.
Came to Social Eating House a couple of years ago and did the chef's table and had a spectacular time. This experience was the polar opposite of that. At our last visit, service was on point, friendly processional and attentive. This experience, well, It took almost 10 minutes just to get water. We asked for sparkling water and got a room temperature bottle. Fifteen minutes later, someone came to take our order except we wanted to have cocktails to start. We Had to order everything together. Cocktails came in relatively good order. However, our empty cocktail glasses stayed on the table throughout our starters and dinner. I finally had to place them on an empty table next to me to give us room. At no time throughout our the dinner did anyone check on us. The restaurant wasn't full, so not sure why this would be. We had to flag someone down to order a glass of wine with our dinner. With dinner finished we sat there for another 15 minutes. Plates eventually got cleared, but empty wine glasses remained. We were never asked if we wanted a refill, if we needed anything else, nothing. We waited another 30 minutes to get someone's attention to get our bill and that only happened when I grabbed our coats and got ready to walk out. After such a good experience initially, this last experiences will sadly stop us from returning.

Michelin starred, hip, and with a speakeasy upstairs to boot....how could you beat this winning combination? Add in the professionalism and finesse from this staff and it calls for a memorable date night.I'm not one to seek our fusion-y food but the menu at Social Eating House caught my attention. From the Japanese inspired foie and Spanish inspired meat, I honestly enjoyed every iteration of the chef has in mind. I thought some of the plating was trying too hard, as I felt it took away from the brilliant flavor combinations but hey, it works for some.Loved the cocktails and loved that we had easy access to the The Blind Pig bar upstairs. I'd come back for another meal.

I was on vacation with my family in a London and my wife found this place. When I visit London again, I'll be back. The meal and experience were awesome. Excellent food, very nice cocktail menu and of course very good wine.Everything we ate was really good, and the vibe of the place was awesome. It's stylish, the staff makes you feel welcome, and you can hear several different languages being spoken in the background. The sommelier was friendly and very helpful - I can't get over how young the sommeliers are these days.My sixteen year old daughter, who is very picky even loved it. If you're in London - just go there.

It was incredible food and a great show. Would 100% come back next time I am in London.

Food was good, but portions were small and service was aggressive. The crab cakes with almond gazpacho appetizer was our favorite dish. We also loved the financiers with clotted cream for dessert.
Be the first to ReplyDecent but slightly disappointed.
The restaurant itself was beautiful, and we would expect nothing less from a Michelin Star establishment, yet the meal left us underwhelmed. We had the Devon crab for a starter, Rump of Herdwick lamb, and Cornish hake as mains. All presented beautifully but flavor wise, the fish left something to be desired. The lamb was delicious and the starter, an interesting texture and flavor profile. But we left for the evening feeling slightly disappointed.Possibly we didn't order the best items from the menu and may need to return again in the future to prove ourselves wrong.

I have mixed feelings about this spot, but their Italian sommelier made this a four instead of three star review. From the moment we walked in, he took great care of us by taking our bags and seating us at our table. Throughout our meal he checked in on us and impressed us with his wine recommendations and knowledge of the all the diff regions and grapes. While the broccoli appetizer was a bit embarrassing (it was soggy and looked the bad kind of home made), my vegan aubergine miso main course was phenomenal. Thank you for making a vegan entree that isn't boring and lame. Now, was tempted to give three stars because aside from our som, the wait staff was highly underwhelming. I didn't even know who our real waiter or waitress was. They came infrequently with the same average level of service. I mentioned this to a coworker and they said they also had the same experience when they went. Def room for improvement!

I wish New York had pre-theater options like this one because it's just that good. Not only is it reasonably priced, but the flavors, presentation and preparation are spot on. The rump steak was a perfect medium rare with a lovely seat and the peppercorn sauce was so rich and flavorful, each bite was wonderful but also saddening because it meant there was less of it afterwards. The first courses as well, both the gazpacho and the risotto, couldn't have been better opening dishes. Both eclectic yet light. The gazpacho is so good you'll drink it straight from the bowl. In and out in 70 minutes which was perfect for our 7:30 show.

This place was slightly disappointing but it may have just been a tasting mistake. I got the zucchini dish and my boyfriend got the lamb dish. Both came in a brown type sauce that we found to be extremely salty. However with a drink in my hand, I really enjoyed the food and vibe. If you go back, I would recommend to only stick to wine (proportionally better for the price) and ask for a description of the sauces. They were very nice to us considering we were only young adults.

Went in for the afternoon pre-fix three courses with a gin cocktail (hey, it's London). Food was good and the cocktail was well made, service attentive. The only complaint was it got noisy, it wasn't even that crowded, which distracted for a overall good experience.
