One of the greatest life experiences and memories
As if dining at SingleThread isn't sublime enough- it is all that and more- staying at the Inn as well is just an incredible experience. We've stayed 2x in the top suite and dined at the restaurant a number of times going back prior to all the accolades and Michelin ratings. Even then, we knew we had one of the best meals of our lives and we've eaten at Michelin starred restaurants and amazing places globally over the decades (both in our 50s). This visit, Chef Kyle, Katina and their team proved why they are among the best chefs, farm-to-table, and overall hospitality experiences in the world. Often, once you've experienced dining and hospitality at the highest leve, it is harder to find things that surprise, delight and impress you - for your palate and experientially. And yet, we were blown away by how they continue to raise the bar higher and how so many dishes were inventive, creative, beautiful and absolutely stunningly delicious. There is a Kyoto carrot based granita dish that also serves as a palate cleanser, for example, like nothing we ever tasted before that was incredible. Likewise for so many of the dishes (we don't want to spoil the fun of discovery for others) and the wine pairings are perfectly matched. Now imagine, after having such an incredible meal (and before), retreating upstairs to the most comfortable and thoughtfully appointed apartment style suite, replete with all kinds of thoughtful touches- heated bathroom floors, lighting touches, incredible snacks, coffee, tea, matcha, a lovely soaking tub, balcony, japanese toilet, etc. It also may seem counterintuitive, but staying at the Inn is also a remarkable VALUE. Yes, that's right. While luxury and especially top hospitality has a price, you have to consider that the breakfast the next morning- Japanese and Western options and with any and all items you like- is included in the price. How much would a breakfast like this cost, much less one you can enjoy in the privacy of your room (or a private study for guests) so you don't have to even get dressed up? How much would a breakfast for 2 cooked by a 3-Michelin Starred culinary team cost including tax and tip- $350? Possibly more? Subtract that out from the price of your room stay and it's an incredibly sweet deal for a luxury experience at a price that has a ton of value. I travel a lot with my work globally and often stay and dine at luxury properties and restaurants around the world and being in my 50s, experience have been fortunate to experience great service and hospitality. SingleThread continues to be one of the best life experiences and created such wonderful memories for my wife and myself. There's a reason they have so many accolades and stars!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing!
Still, likely, the best inn and dining experience we've ever had in CA. This was our fourth visit to the restaurant in six years and our second at the inn. While the dining experience is exquisite, the breakfast is also extraordinary.
Be the first to ReplyA Top Hospitality Experience!
My husband and I stayed at SingleThread for our 10th Anniversary and ate at the restaurant - both were perhaps the top hospitality experience I've ever had (and I've had a lot)! The food is unbelievable (go hungry)! The breakfasts and in-room dining was luxurious and the room was stunning and so incredibly comfortable. The service was a great balance between attentiveness and giving us our space/privacy. We will definitely be back.

A STAY YOU WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER! Nestled in the heart of Healdsburg, only 5 rooms, impeccable service. Breakfast in your room, on your balcony, or on the roof top deck (from the same kitchen that is a Michelin 3 star restaurant in the evening. Do not miss dinner there!
Be the first to ReplyIncredible haven
Purist, artisanal, thoughtful and beautifully-crafted food and super comfortable accomodation…a tranquil gourmet haven. Kudos to them for painstakingly producing vegetables and flowers on their own organic biodiverse farm. Thank you for the impromptu farm tour by plant biologist, Ariel who told us how they address weather changes, soil quality, crop rotation and even how to cure potatoes to form next year’s seed bank. Well done!
Be the first to ReplyThe perfect end to a magical wedding week
I came here for the last night of my honeymoon, which immediately followed my wedding. I was still recovering from the insane rush of an incredible but packed wedding weekend. I spent a year planning my wedding and my goal was to make everyone who attended feel taken care of. Well worth it - an amazing wedding - but I was definitely depleted. SingleThread took such good care of me. Stayed at the inn for one night and went to dinner. They are generous, thoughtful, and precise. Their staff members are all artists who care deeply about their jobs. Every inn detail was done with intention. The room was filled with little things to make you comfortable. Boundless snacks filled the fridge and freezer a homemade chocolate sorbet, a bottle of incredible local wine, komboucha, fresh juice for the morning. Homemade matcha, precisely measured ground coffee, and two welcome snacks were on the bar. Heated bathroom floors. A huge tub with pink soaking salts. I felt pampered, seen, and, while this is strange to say about a hotel, loved. The meal was incredible. Amazing produce, personalized service. You could tell they spent months and years obsessively refining every tiny detail. Just look at the photos. Thrilled. Amazed. In heaven! Thank you SingleThread!!!!
Be the first to ReplyExperience of a lifetime
We went to SingleThread to celebrate our 50th Anniversary. It was an experience of a lifetime. We stayed one night and were very pleasantly surprised as they upgraded us to the Master Suite. The room was very large (700 sq ft) and all the amenities in the room were fantastic down to the towels and bed sheets. Truly a very special stay. The dinner we had at SingleThread was unique, amazing and delicious. Service was stellar. Every course was a presentation. (One slight disappointment was that the meat course was chewy and tough. But, this was a minor disappointment as all the other 9 courses were absolutely fantastic.) This was a very memorable stay and dinner for us.
Be the first to ReplyConvenient place to stay after dining at the restaurant
We chose to stay here, but not by choice. We wanted to dine at the restaurant, but it was booked full on our preferred date. We were fortunate, however, that a room was available - inn guests are guaranteed indoor dinner reservations for 2 at SingleThread. And, our room of choice was available (a Suite.) Over the years, numerous superlatives have been used to visitors to describe the dining experience, and our time at the restaurant (it was our second visit) was just as amazing as our previous time there. While the Michelin 3-star designation is legitimate, I don't believe the Inn itself to be in the same category. It's very nice, but especially given the room rates, we don't feel it stands out from the variety of options in the area (including Farmhouse Inn and Auberge du Soleil, for instance.) First thing's first - the location is unbeatable... how could it not be? I'm not talking about the neighborhood or views or anything like that. After a 3-hour culinary extravaganza, complete with a heavy consumption of wine, nothing is more convenient than being able to stammer upstairs and plop right into bed. And then, in the morning you're treated to a delightful Japanese-inspired breakfast (Western options are available.) The Suite room itself is not particularly spacious by Suite standards, not to mention that it's technically more of a Junior Suite (i.e., it's an open plan layout) than the real thing. Modern technologies and amenities are on hand, and the decor is simple, minimalistic and tasteful. They also provide Onigiri (Japanese rice balls) as well as homemade Ice Cream in the minibar for those that have cravings in the middle of the night. A very nice touch. All of the staff members were friendly, sweet, professional and eager to please. We didn't have much need for any major assistance (such as concierge service), but the people we came across were genuinely delighted to have us there. The big question - would we stay here again in the future if we are successful in securing dinner reservations without needing a room reservation? The answer is... probably. While it's not the most luxurious property and doesn't have the sprawling grounds or incredible views of other top hotels in the area, SingleThread has something - something special - that others do not.... the fabulous restaurant. For that reason alone, and due to the convenience of not having to worry about taking an Uber back to some other property - we'd probably consider it as a combo deal.

This was an incredible experience staying at this hotel! Everything was extravagant and perfectly catered. The employees were all so friendly and knew us all by name as soon as we arrived. The room was amazing, from the heated bathroom floor to the big bathtub, the balcony overlooking part of the town to the in-room breakfast! The 3 Michelin Star restaurant was like watching a play! Everything was delicious and like nothing I could’ve ever imagined! The servers and chefs were all so professional and knowledgeable and flowed together to make our experience the best it could be. We will definitely be back for a special occasion because that’s what this place deserves!

Our 4th trip to Singlethread to celebrate our 12th anniversary, first time staying in a room vs their suite, and was pleasantly surprised how spacious, airy, quiet and well appointed it was. Haley the Hospitality Director was extremely professional accommodating . She made arrangements for our room to be fitted with hypoallergenic sheets and tempurpedic pillows prior to our arrival. I loved how we could access the room with the 4 digit code we used during all our previous visits. The attention to detail to room amenities was impressive - from the delightful welcome cookies, homemade ice cream, premium tea leaves, well stocked fridge with a nice selection of drinks, wine and beer, to a bathroom full of facial products. I also liked how we technology subtlety integrated with the room. We were able to sync up and enjoy Netflix movies on the TV screen. The only minor challenge I had was trying to figure out how the matcha machine works. We opted to enjoy a seafood hot pot dinner on the roof top terrace over dinner in the restaurant and it did not disappoint. The presentation of the courses prior to the hot pot, along with the coconut panna cotta dessert was not only exquisite but also tasted amazing. Coupled with our breakfast experience all I could say was "wow!" Highly recommend and I can't wait to visit the property again, thank you!

My wife and I are major foodies and love the Bay Area farm and culinary scene. We love sourcing the best organic ingredients from local farms and cooking gourmet meals at home for ourselves. As a result, we don't often visit Michelin restaurants more than once. SingleThread Farm is an exception to this. Their exquisite presentation of each course is not only breathtakingly beautiful, but also creative and artistic in nature. Each bite of food has so many unique layers of flavor; it's a true adventure for your palate. They source their produce from their own local farm and the seafood is incredibly fresh. If you appreciate this type of thing, the Restaurant at SingleThread is absolutely worth every penny. We also stayed at the Inn for one night. The hospitality is excellent and the room is comfortable and is thoughtfully appointed. The bathrooms have heated floors, the drinking water is from reverse osmosis, and the coffee and matcha machines are unique from any hotel I've ever stayed at. Most snacks and drinks are included with your room, and the wifi works great if you need to get some work done. The breakfast was also incredible (try the Japanese Pancakes!) with an elevated a-la-carte menu included in your stay. We really appreciated the attention to detail here: everything was meticulously anticipated and even for one night the stay was incredibly relaxing. It somewhat reminded me of an Aman hotel (go if you haven't gone before). As bookings are difficult to find since this is a 5-room property, I highly encourage guests to try and do 2-nights or more. We felt that while our 1-night stay was appropriate given that it was a mid-week stay, we left hoping for an additional night. With that said, we hope to be back in the future!

Fabulous personal service from start to finish the. The booking and concierge team where very helpful accommodating our requests and making some great suggestions on things to do during our stay. The room we stayed in was well appointed with some unique and thoughtful touches. We hardly wanted to leave the property. Dinner was a truly magical experience, with fantastic produce, wonderful flavors, and truly breathtaking presentation. The Japanese breakfast was also a highlight and a great way to start the day. Service lived up to the three Michelin start status. All the staff at Single Thread where attentive and couldn't do enough to make our stay a wonderful experience. On ordering a bottle of wine to our room on the first night, the wine director popped up to drop off our bottle. On the second night it was our wonderful sommelier from dinner the night before. Returning from an excursion one afternoon, one of our servers from dinner recognized us and asked if we needed help bringing our things in from the car.
Be the first to ReplyHighest level food, service and hospitality
If you are interested in one of the best culinary and hotel experiences of your life, run, don't walk, to Single Thread. This was our second stay at the Inn accompanied by dining in the restaurant. Literally every aspect of our stay at the Inn, as well as every dining experience, was perfection. It's difficult to say what people have not already said, but truly the entire staff is highly trained to provide a level of hospitality we've never experienced - except at our first stay at Single Thread. If you are able to stay at the Inn, the in room dining and/or the opportunity to have a private meal in the library, with your own private wait staff, is not to be missed. The Japanese breakfast served in room is simply superb, the donabe hot pot meal served to us in the library was also exquisite. Every aspect of our stay was obviously tailored to meet our personal needs and our head server at the meal in the restaurant even remembered our personal preferences from the last time we'd dined with them. The price tag is worth every dime. It is very easy to spend this much and more elsewhere (and likely you have if you're thinking of going to Single Thread) and not even approach the experience you'll receive. Thank you to all the staff at Single Thread for yet another fabulous stay.

The entire staff at Single Thread is amazing. We stayed for 2 nights and occupied 3 of the 5 rooms at the Inn. The treats in each room were special - from the drinks to the eats. The Matouk towels are the bomb! The rooms are spacious and really just very lovely. Breakfast was included and we chose to eat on the rooftop deck each morning. Great way to start the day. We also had a champagne starter before our dinner at the restaurant - which was a great way to start our dinner experience. Is it expensive, Yes - but a nice way to "treat yourself" and those you love - which is what we did.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the most unique, welcoming, and incredible sensory experiences in the world!
The booking process was super easy - and is also the most inclusive one I have experienced EVER in my life. From the second we arrived there, we were treated so well by everyone we encountered. The folks who work at SingleThread are just consummate hosts - super nice, knowledgeable, helpful, etc. When we got to our room we were floored by how beautiful it was - and the location cannot be beat. We relaxed in our room for a bit and then went down for dinner. Dinner was indescribable. It was one of the best meals we have ever had in our lives. The food was not a meal, it was an experience - one that really made you feel like you were taking a culinary journey with the Chef and the owners. This is not even mentioning the 5-star breakfast that we got to enjoy the next morning in the rooftop garden. Another delicious meal in a beautiful and thoughtful setting. I know this sounds over the top, but my wife and I save up and try and experience a lot of these types of meals and when I say that SingleThread surpassed every expectation we had...well, I can only tell you that we have already booked our next stay and meal (we actually booked it during our trip). If you want a peaceful, relaxing, sensory, and inclusive experience - this is one you should not miss.

The suite at the Inn was incredible. Every detail considered from the matcha machine to hot water tap to the toto washlet. Loved all the thoughtful touches like snacks and beverages and even cannabis gummies to calm the soul. The icing on the cake was the incredible dinner we had in the restaurant and equally as good breakfast in our room. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a splurge weekend in wine country.
Be the first to ReplyA wonderful experience!
We visited Healdsburg for a weekend of food and wine and were not disappointed, indeed it was an experience I plan on repeating - many times. Healdsburg is a charming little town and the Inn was fantastic. The rooms were beautiful with wonderfully high ceilings, with luxury fixtures and all the high amenities you would expect from a top end hotel. If the room was stunning the dinner was even more so from the initial assortment of appetizers to the final desert. Each course was wonderfully designed in terms of appearance, texture and taste with the added bonus of meeting Chef Connaughton. The service Wass excellent throughout with highly knowledgable staff and prompt and precise service. Looking forward to my next visit.
Be the first to ReplyAlinea in California
If you have experienced Alinea restaurant in Chicago you will see the similarities here. The table scape was a bountiful selection of small tastes on tiny dishes. I have attached the 10 course tasting menu with wine pairings. I would suggest going without the wine pairing. The sommelier is very friendly and knowledgeable but his picks were not to my liking. The staff to diner ratio is very impressive. And all staff had memorized our names and greeted us accordingly. We we were able to secure a 4pm dinner reservation thru Tock. Even so, we finished at 7:30 on the charming rooftop with a final course of coffee and a tray of desserts.
