Made a reservation for an outside table but they sat us inside because it was potentially going to rain. We also selected that we were celebrating a birthday on the reservation and they didn't acknowledge this so we didn't say anything. You're gunna have to let them know in person. The playlist here it was IMPECCABLE!!! Lots of great vibey music. I started off with a Virgin Margarita which was very tasty and delightful. Hubby ordered a smoked old fashioned which came out in a glass cover that when removed it was quite literally smoking! He said he liked it. We tried the pan seared Octopus in a coconut curry sauce which was a great consistency but a bit in the salty side. I still enjoyed it. I ordered the Bone-In Rib Eye which was a LOT of meat but also a LOT of fat. Very flavorful. Cooked perfectly (asked for medium rare) not too salty. The side I paired it with was the mushrooms and pear onions. I can't recommend this enough! And if you're not into mushrooms you've got to try the Brussels Sprouts in a miso sauce! They're to die for. Everything had a nice little char to it. Took a while but that is how you know it's good. All good things take time. We were a bit full so we did not order desserts but if you come here on your birthday you get a cool firework candle. The bill ended up being about $400 but honestly it was all worth it because the ingredients were high quality and our server was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu making it a really memorable experience here. Next time I want to splurge I will most likely return

This is the best restaurant that I have EVER been to in the WORLD! I've eaten in Paris, London and Rome! The food was simply amazing, and very flavorful. But the cherry on top was the outstanding service! Everyone was very attentive to our needs, very kind and GENUINE! I asked our waiter about the chef who then offered him to come say hi to us! We had to personally thank the chef for how amazing our food was!

Tourist trap Poor service and food Not what we expected in Carmel Aweful in every category
Be the first to ReplyService and ambiance is great.
The cocktails were nice and def more upscale and for a more mature pallet. For the price, I would definitely reccomend making your own food or going to your moms. I had the Pinot noir braised ribs which came with potatoes, carrots, and onions. To say the least, I and my grandma can make better food. My partner had the vegan carrot steak which came with a Hummas and eggplant. He said the egg plant was amazing but everything else was lacking. They Litterally just grilled two carrots and put "Costco quality" Hummas on the plate with some almonds and Hummas. The braised short ribs were filling but the carrots should have been an appetizer. We did get a side of the charred cauliflower which was advertised as having a spicy sauce but what came out was a whole, uncut cauliflower with bread crumbs and some white cheese sauce. The cauliflower was cooked as though it had been put in a high temperature oven but not cooked long enough so it had that charred look but not cooked enough to cut easily. If you're going to have the customer cut cauliflower off the stock at least make it easy to do so right? I'm a white lady and even I say this place does not season enough. The creamedashed potatoes had a nice, satisfying texture but had almost no flavor.

Great quality meat and cooked perfectly by the chef.

Just wrapped up a meal at Seventh and Delores, and let me tell you, it was a letdown of epic proportions. I'm all about pushing through discomfort and embracing challenges, but this experience tested even my resilience. I approached the restaurants bar, ready to fuel up and enjoy some quality food. But what I got instead was a cold reception from the bartenders. I'm talking zero personality, minimal eye contact, and distant vibes. Now, I don't expect a red carpet, but a little warmth goes a long way, especially in the service industry. And here's the kicker: when I got the bill, I nearly spat out my drink. A 20% gratuity already tacked on, no questions asked. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm all for tipping well for exceptional service. But when you're paying top dollar for a lackluster experience, that's a tough pill to swallow. Seventh and Delores, you've got some serious work to do. Take it from someone who knows a thing or two about pushing past mediocrity - step up your game and give your customers an experience worth remembering.
Be the first to ReplyCame here on a Monday to celebrate a special occasion.
The service was solid, and I appreciated our waiter, Brent, brought us some celebratory bubbles when we came in. That was a great first touch point. We started with the focaccia, which was tasty, but needed an oil or some kind of dipping sauce to counter the dryness. I was excited about the French onion soup, but it was simply way too heavy and salty. It was more of a gravy than a soup. I did enjoy the Caesar salad. We got the pork chop to split with three sides -- mushrooms, broccolini, and potato au gratin. I'll start by saying I almost never send things back to the kitchen, but the pork chop was over seasoned and way overcooked and we just could not eat it, it was so dry and tough. I think the kitchen cutting into it before served dried the heck out of it. The potato was very lame -- lacking flavor or any texture. The charred broccoli was nice, as were the mushrooms, and they had a solid wine selection. Overall my experience echos many other reviews. The food here just isn't worth the cost in my experience. It's clear the ingredients are quality and stellar, but the kitchen needs some refinement to match up to the front of house and level of service. Also for me personally, the inside space was very cold and I couldn't stand the loud electronic music most of the time -- it took away from the elegance of the space.
Be the first to ReplyOrdered French onion soup which was good.
But a-little too thick. Def not the best French onion we had. Ordered Caesar salad - which was okay. Dry aged steak/they didn't cook it at the temperature we wanted but it was okay we didn't want to send it back. Brussel sprouts could have cooked more homogeneous and fries were okay. They brought the fries with truffle mayo which we hardly tasted the truffle. Restaurant was cold inside I couldn't get to take my coat off. I asked to sit somewhere cozy and warm but the hostess ended up sitting us right by the patio door which was resulted us having very unpleasant experience. I think you can eat much better steak at a lot of other restaurants for a better price.

Seventh & Dolores in Carmel by the Sea is my favorite steakhouse. We came here for my Dads birthday and enjoyed the tomahawk and ribeye specials. My mother's vegan and she enjoyed the carrot steak. Their wine list is awesome. Their sommelier does a good job of bringing in both local and international wines. We enjoyed a bottle of the Folktale Pinot Noir. The manager was awesome and came out and talked to us. Thank you chef and thanks Rigo! We will be back.
Be the first to ReplyLove the cocktails.
Amazing service. Bone in rib eye is fantastic. Love the atmosphere, big city vibe and style in charming downtown Carmel.

Went for valentines day (Spent 500+), This place holds a special spot for my wife and I since we had dinner here after I proposed at Carmel beach. Food was ok 7/10 , service was pretty good 8/10. Ambiance 8/10. Two complaints: First they allowed reservations to be booked all they way up to 10 pm( if you allow this as a business be prepared to accommodate, or expect negative feedback). We booked 9:20 reservations and made sure we were ready to order as soon as we got there. Unfortunately 20 minutes into our dinning they started prepping for closing including moving tables around, really ruining the experience and rushing us and some of the other tables out. Second complaint , the price for the food was too high for how boring the menu was. (scallops, sea bass, onion soup, dry aged steak... ) the drinks were pretty good though. If you have money I would recommend giving this spot a shot, but don't expect anything exceptional.

One of the best culinary experiences we have ever had in in Carmel! The ribeye was beyond perfection. The service was impeccable from the moment we walked in. Our server, Sam was top notch and Rico the GM was a pure joy! The vibes, the food and the staff are top tier!

Loved the ambience, warm and inviting. The service was excellent. Definitely going to revisit Highly recommend

Fine dining, welcoming atmosphere, a traditional steakhouse with a new breath of fresh air! Servers are knowledgeable and friendly! And most of all, the chef and his team prepare meals fit for a king!

Unbelievable, just that! The onion soup, sure now I'm a soupaholic! I'm going to soup rehab and detox for thirty days before I relapse... then do it again until I lose everything and I hit rock bottom. I'm not going to say anything about the filet except I didn't eat it all on account of the soup and that was disappointing because I can't cook that good and I can cook a steak. Who cares, go and act like you live there and know everyone and be good to yourself!

While on a visit to Carmel By The Sea, this place came recommended by our hotel staff. We were celebrating a special evening anyway so we decided to give it a try. The space is beautiful. Very modern and clean. The acoustics make it a bit noisy especially on a busy night. But otherwise a really nice space.Service was friendly and on point. From the hostess to our server, everyone checked in at the right times and gave us some good suggestions. The food was pretty excellent. We started with the focaccia which was delicious. I had the NY Strip Steak which was cooked perfectly. We shared a bunch of sides which were all very good, and we also shared an ice cream sundae at the end which was amazing. I'd say the only drawback to this place was the price. It was definitely overpriced. I've been to a few Michelin star restaurants that don't charge nearly was this place charges. And my other gripe is with the standard 20% service added to every bill. Not a fan of that. If it weren't for those two things, this would've been a 5 star review.
Be the first to ReplyWe had an awful meal at 7th & Dolores.
My wife was told by the waiter that that halibut was fresh, caught that morning in Monterey Bay, and at the restaurant for preparation by the afternoon. It was terrible. Tasted like it had been in the back of the freezer for months -- dry and stringy. We sent it back. The second plate of halibut suffered from the same condition. The next day we found a fisherman who said that it wasn't halibut season and that no one would pull a halibut out of the bay this time of year. My short ribs were as greasy as I've had in years. There are plenty of great restaurants in Carmel, but this one, no longer.

I realize I need to write some "room to improve' reviews, but this one isn't gonna be the one to get me balanced out with my rating distribution. Nope. After a day of hiking along the coast with my gal pals, a yummy wine tasting around the corner, and walking through the rain looking for a place to eat on a Saturday evening when the Golf Tournament was cancelled earlier... We stumbled into 7D looking like a bunch of feral cats emerging from the dumpster after a storm. The hostess welcomed us with a smile (which was very comforting after being rejected from a few other places due to our lack of reservations). They were full as well, but she quickly told us she would see what she could to to get us in. YAY!!! Someone came over and said that if we were open to it, we could eat on the patio (that was partially covered by an overhang) and they would turn on the heaters for us. "We're in!" We pushed the table up against the building so we were all (mostly) sheltered from the rain and VOILA, our table for four was set. The server was fantastic. He praised us for our bravery to eat outside in that weather and all the jokes that followed truly made our experience. The wine and cocktails were fabulous! I'm not sure we were looking to have a bougie dining experience while soaking wet and in hiking attire, but here we were totally excited about all the options for dinner. We ended up ordering a ton of things to share so we could have it all. Here's what we had and I took VIDEOS it was so beautifully presented and orgasmic on the palette. Ahi Tuna Tartare10oz Filet MignonMiso Sea BassBraised Short RibsRoasted MushroomsTriple Cream Potato PureeBrussel SproutsDesserts: Apple Bread Pudding, Chocolate Terrine, and Créme Brulee. Can't remember the drinks or wine. I think I got the Patroni? The service was extraordinary and I will forever return and happily spend more $$ than I want to because I'll always remember our Green Eggs & Ham experience when they let us eat In the Rain at a table on the patio in the wind while dressed in soaking wet hiking clothes on a Saturday night.
Be the first to ReplyThe filet mignon was cooked perfectly, although overpriced.
I had a side of potatoes which were $20 again over priced and a side of broccoli florettes approx. $20, extremely overpriced. We also had two appetizers, both were mediocre. While the cocktails were very tasty, and well prepared, the cost was $20 per drink. The hostesses were excellent, very friendly and accommodating. However, The waitstaff and manager had no clue about the wine list. for this type of establishment and the perceived caliber of such a high end restaurant, they should have sommelier. Not one person in the restaurant could tell us anything regarding the wines. Disappointing to say the least.Once again, the service was lackluster. Very little attention to detail. Ambience was a fun, but loud and a bit chilly in a big room with tall ceilings. Definitely NOT an intimate location. As I recall, dessert was quite yummy. Be AWARE that a 20% gratuity is already included on the bill, no matter what your group sizes. We were two. So if you have excess money to spend, dinner for two was approximately $500. If the cost doesn't deter you, you might try it, although it's definitely needing some refinement and polish and all areas.
Be the first to ReplyWe came here for dessert, which was very good.
It lost a star due to the fact it was so noisy in here, they don't serve espresso, which is odd for such a nice restaurant, and they automatically add 20% gratuity on to your bill. The cocktails were super expensive, like $20 and over, which is high for this area.Service was good and the menu looked great but we only had dessert.
Be the first to Replydecided to go to a late dinner @ 8:15pm.
We got seated right away. The staff was super friendly and answered all of our questions right away. I ordered the filet and it was delicious!! Definitely order a steak when you come here cause duh it is a steakhouse. Everything was cooked to our liking. Everything here is expensive so definitely be prepared to spend a lot of money especially if you order appetizers/ dessert.

It was our first time yesterday, we were originally going to go to little Napoli and instead ended up in the wrong restaurant. Let me tell you I'm glad we went In the wrong place, as you come in to the restaurant you are welcomed with amazing customer service, immediately attended to. Aesthetics were beautiful , well enough about the looks. The food was delicious and our serve was extremely knowledgeable on the menu. We were also given an appetizer which was a little soup I believe and it was amazing. Both entrees were cooked to perfection and the flavors just meshed perfect. Located in beautiful Carmel, I'd your around the area give it a try. I will def come back thanks for the great food and great experience Seventh & Dolores !
Be the first to ReplyBest Steak Ive had in a very long time.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in town to visit. The food and drinks coupled with the atmosphere is unbeatable. The staff couldn't of done a better job walking us through the menu and making suggestions that we absolutely loved. (octopus is a must) Our steaks came out perfect and loved the roasted garlic cloves. We will be back again and again.

Great location, great sounding music, but the food and service is way too overpriced for what you get. So far the worst spot in Carmel when it come to the restaurant, we will not be back.
