Be the first to ReplyVery cool spot.
Food was good not great. Not baby or toddler friendly- no high chairs or kids menus. Which is totally fine - but didn't know that before I went. Gorgeous space tho! Would come back for drinks and appetizers.

Highly recommended this place! Everything was good, food, drinks, service! The decorations and theme were great and we had a great view!

We sat in the corner right next to the speaker and it was too hard to have a conversation over the music. Server seemed annoyed to be working. Never came to fill our waters until we were almost finished. We brought a bottle of champagne and had to fill our glasses ourselves. Server only came at the end of our meal to check to see if we needed anything. Will not be coming back. In the other hand, View is great if you get a window seat.

This place is absolutely wonderful! The views and ambiance are fantastic, and I really recommend it. We tried the truffle pasta, which was so good, and tiramisu for dessert. The portion sizes for both the food and dessert were just right. The service was excellent, and the overall design of the place is top-notch.

If you don't want to eat and you would like to wait an hour after your reservation with poor communication from the front house staff, then Seneca is your place. Thank you for making my husband's 40th birthday dinner, unforgettable. I would say ours was an isolated incident, but after sharing our experience to many, this seems to be a common practice.
Be the first to ReplyCame back again hoping it would have improved.
Still no cacio or vodka. Service and ambiance are still great but the foods gone downhill.

This place is beautiful, it was a great view , but food and service are okay, our server was not the best and we we're literally waiting like 10 min for her to come and take our order, and when we were done eating we wait like 20 min for her to come again and give us the bill, keep in mind it was not busy at all .

The ambiance is one of a kind, I think sitting inside or outside is both great and very different. (I think I actually prefer inside). Food is always delish and never disappoints. The Arancini is my personal fave! Good drinks, but not a lot of diversity in cocktail / wine menu. Service has been quick, attentive and kind.

As soon as I walked in this restaurant the air hit my face and it was such a breathtaking! We were welcomed and seated. My friend and I ordered pasta and the wait time was longer than expected "mind you it was not busy at all" our meal arrived and the first bite I take it was extremely salty to my liking, I thought in my head if I were to have a high blood pressure this would be so much fun! The waiter came to check if everything tasted good but I had to tell him about the saltiness and it turned out my friend had the same complaint so I ordered the margarita pizza and it wasn't supposed to take that long too as the waiter said but it did and when it arrived it was hot, I had to wait more for it to cool down so I lost all my appetite and ended up eating one slice! I thought the pizza would fix the problem but unfortunately it was the opposite which is flavorless and the ingredients were falling off the dough part. I am a social media influencer and foodie, I found out about this place from TikTok platform so I wanted to see what the hype is about but it wasn't as exciting and exciting as I thought it would be. Overall, I will give the rooftop/view a two stars. The overly priced dishes do NOT match the food quality/taste. This is my honest review and I hope this feedback helps!

I came here for drinks a few times during a conference and I absolutely loved the vibe! Beautiful roof top bar overlooking downtown. Plenty of comfortable seating at tables, the bar, and lounge chairs. I enjoyed the fire pits and ambiance. Their cocktail menu is unique and fun, with plenty of options. They also have a good wine list! I had several aperol spritzes and they were perfect. Service was pretty good despite it being super busy both times I went. This is a place I'd love to bring San Diego visitors. I'm also eager to try the food which looked delicious in passing!

Came to San Diego for a business trip, and while lost looking for a specific restaurant someone in the street recommended Seneca. I was amazed about the decor and hands down ones of the best restaurants I've ever been in Cali amazing food, yummy drinks, friendly staff, and what a view, very unique place.
Be the first to ReplyGreat décor, Fantastic views in a great location.
Service was good. Food was equally good. Best item was the Grilled shrimp, We ordered a few appetizers including the focaccia. Our waiter should have been professional enough to let us know that most of the dishes came with bread and the Focaccia was not needed. The charcuterie was a disappointment. all in all if you go for the views you will get good service and decent food.
Be the first to ReplyI will start off by saying our food was great.
Restaurant is very pretty. We ordered the steak, potatoes and carrots. All top notch. For apps we ordered the whipped ricotta with focaccia. They gave us a generous amount of whipped ricotta and 3 pieces of bread. Server asked if we'd like more bread, and we did 'cause we did not want appetizer to go to waste, so yes, more bread would be lovely, thank you! Cut to.... they charged us for it. No mention of that, just on the bill. ALSO....this new trick I've noticed in the last several years in nicer places, is the "flat or sparkling" water. My husband had NO idea he was to ask for HOUSE or TAP, and when I was in restroom, he ordered flat. $9.00 for bottled water. Come on. He was not happy but we said nothing. I chose this place for my husband's birthday. We love to go to nice places, not afraid to pay a little more for special occasions! His birthday was acknowledged when we checked in at the desk, and by our server. Cut to end of meal...they asked him if he'd like to order dessert off the menu. (We were full so not interested) but you can't throw a cupcake or a cookie on a plate and bring it to your guests who just spent $255.00 for two in your establishment for his birthday? As I said, the food and service was good. But those little underhanded charges, not a big fan of and having to order off dessert menu when it's special occasion and we've picked your restaurant to celebrate it? Seems a little cheap. Also a 4% surcharge added to your bill too, fyi. That's just my two cents on our first visit. :)
Be the first to ReplyI didn't care for the food at all.
The atmosphere and surroundings are nice but the food and wait staff are not worth the money

Drinks were tasty and so was the bread but the service was inattentive and uncaring. I appreciated that they were willing to accommodate our tardiness in regards to our reservation. But once we arrived we were greeting by service that was sorely lacking. It's a very pretty venue, but I would not recommend this place at all. There's plenty of better places nearby.
Be the first to ReplyIf I could book every private event for the rest of my life
If I could book every private event for the rest of my life here, I would in a heartbeat. Seneca's main dining floor boasts phenomenal views of downtown San Diego, armed with intimate designs and high quality decor all around to solidify a quality dining experience. There is a private room, resembling a vintage private office or library, that can seat about 20 guests with ease (you can even bring your own playlist). Drinks are spectacular (get the old fashioned) and there's an impressive wine selection. I found the prices to be extremely fair given the ambiance and food quality. Everyone in our group was nearly licking their plate clean. Must haves are the branzino, chicken, arancini, carrots, and tiramisu. Cannot wait to come back!
Be the first to ReplyGood Vibes, decent Food, Slow service.
Waited a really long time until we got seated.
Be the first to ReplyAfter having heard really great reviews about people in my
After having heard really great reviews about people in my inner circle about Seneca, I was very much looking forward to dining here. The descriptions I received were prefaced with the great view sitting atop the 19th floor and the wonderful service. Both were very true and from the number of patrons on this particular evening, it certainly a very popular spot on this rainy evening. But, while there are many very good things about Seneca, it was a bit of a stretch to give it 4 stars and beyond. Here's my take.Consistent with the other comments, it's a bit of a mystery to reach the restaurant itself. Different elevators accessed from different floors and the absence of signage on the 19th floor could have been approached differently. To start, I had the Eggplant appetizer and the Persimmon Salad. The former was highly suggested and was looking forward. The dish came piping hot and was inclusive of a set crostini bread. This was good, but could have used a little salt or additional seasoning. Very healthy and original approach. The salad was pretty good with just the right amount of dressing. I think the reference to it being a Persimmon salad was a bit overstated as there was very little Persimmon to the ratio of everything else. A light prelude to the entree. For the entree, I went with the Chicken Alla Diavola. This particular entree is something that I order frequently from many different establishments because of the crisp and spicy seasonings that make this a personal favorite. Unfortunately, Seneca's version was neither. The preparation produced a brown skinned appearance, but the crisp was absent given the amount of oil on the plate and really lacked spice and a depth of flavor. I was really hoping this version of their Alla Diavola would be my local go-to spot, but so. Bummer. As I started this review, there were several positives about Seneca that make it a good spot to visit here in San Diego. Service, the view and the location make it a worthwhile reason to visit. The portions of their dishes are plentiful. Unfortunately, for me, there were a few misses that made Seneca come up a bit short. Perhaps on a subsequent visit, I can offer a revised rating. Be well!
Be the first to ReplyThe food here was okay- nothing to write home about.
The ambience and restaurant are truly beautiful. Cocktails are delicious but expensive. We ordered a variety of food (pizza, pasta, meatballs, prosciutto) and nothing stood out to me as amazing. The most disappointing dish in my opinion was the cacio e pepe, I couldn't even see or taste the pepper in the dish. I might come here again for drinks and the view.

Great service, wonderful views and great Prosecco if you're celebrating an anniversary! The prawns were tasty and the lamb shanks were surprisingly huge ! Overall they had good taste. The drinks were very well mixed. Can't go wrong with an old fashioned. Overall I would rate this place 10/10
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful setting with great food and friendly staff.
Seneca is off the beaten path, it's nestled at the top of a hotel away from the other night life, but definitely worth the Uber. The mozzarella is truly a unique experience - they ready it for you at the table. Great pick for a night out.Gf: yes! Almost every pasta can be made this way and every pizza. The pizza is surprisingly delicious when you order it gf
Be the first to ReplyReally good food.
We had the prawns, pizza, calamari, fried risotto, and the bread. The bread was my boyfriends favorite bread he's ever had. It wasn't super busy the day we went around 11 am.

LOVED this place for dinner on the rooftop and a beautiful view of the water/downtown. The food was wonderful and really yummy. The vibes and decor was over the top gorgeous. Such a cute place for a date night, girls trip, family outing. There were a ton of bachelorette parties, families, and work celebrations while I was there. The only reason I am giving it not 5 stars is because of the cocktail selection/cocktail prices. They charge 17 dollars for what is essentially an aperol spritz. I wasn't too fond of that, especially being big into the craft cocktail scene and all of the amazing drinks that San Diego restaurants have to offer... I suppose I was expecting better quality for the price. The food and service was great though!
Be the first to ReplyThis place blew my mind and excited my pallet.
Beautiful rooftop restaurant with a dope vibe. The food was tremendous and the staff were so polite and professional. Fellas-Bring your ladies here if you messed up somewhere. They will definitely forget whatever wrong you have done.
