This was our last meal in Lisbon and what a way to end an amazing trip! The food was outstanding, and reminded us of the trip to Thailand. The chef is from Thailand, so the authentic Thai flavors do come out. We enjoyed every dish we got, and took the leftovers home for a late night snack. The only thing I would say is that I thought the spicy-ness scale can be ramped up a bit, but they brought by some fish sauce with chilis to add to our dishes that satisfied my spicy craving. Overall, absolutely worth the visit on your trip to Lisbon. This restaurant is now under new ownership and is a Thai restaurant!

If it weren't for the watchful eye of my mother, I would've completely walked past this place on my way to another. If I had, I would've missed out on one of the best meals of my trip and honestly one of the best all around meals I have had in a very long time!Saraiva's was actually pretty empty upon entering on a Monday afternoon which seemed a bit unsettling but we took a chance. We were promptly and courteously seated, the menu expertly explained, and our orders place. The restaurant itself is very bright and well decorated inside and have very nice bathrooms. We felt completely at peace inside this space among the colorful glasses which adorned the tables. Now, to the important stuff.We were provided bread and butter, like one would receive in a normal restaurant, but this was on a whole other level. Leek butter, banana chips, banana focaccia, and flat seed bread, all fantastic. I was honestly amazed when I tried each item both on their own and with the butter spread atop. This was also complimentary! For our starters we orders a creamy vegetable soup which I only tried a spoon of but which was good and pork jawl toast. The pork jawl toast, oh my gosh! If you want an explosion of pork, salt, fat, and succulence, try this dish! It is small land I was disappointed at first but these four small pieces are all you need! I felt like I needed a nap afterwards but then came our main courses.My mother got pistachio crusted chicken breast with beet rice and I got pork loin with mushrooms, onions, potatoes, and bak choy. Both were very tasty but I preferred mine. I must have been on a pork kick that afternoon! Everything was cooked to perfection and the mushrooms in my pork dish were to die for and were the star for me. Along with the food, the service was stunning. Very attentive, very friendly, kind, patient, and professional. Do yourself a favor and eat here! We had a very hectic and busy day in Lisbon and this hour was just a joy and one of our highlights!

The restaurant was completely empty the entire time we were there, but the food was still great. Service is old school, a bunch of nice old guys pouring your glass full and plating your food from hot silver pans. Bread- they bring bread with olives, butter, and sardine pate. About four different types of bread. Asparagus appetizer- 2/5 not the best way to start since this was cooked to mush and rather unappetizing. We had the vinaigrette dressing, and it was so acidic that my tongue was burning!Filet medallions with egg and rice- 5/5 so unique! An incredibly flavorful sauce on a tasty steak. Not sure it would qualify as US-quality filet, but the taste was sublime. Served with a fabulously strange side of rice mixed with softly scrambled eggs that melt in your mouth.Codfish, chef-style- 4/5 flavorful codfish (local specialty) mixed with rice, seasonings, and some other things that all came together nicely.All in all, a very nice dining experience in a comfortable atmosphere.
